RITUAL – our topic in August 2024
Rituals add meaning and a deeper sense of connection to our lives. Our CreativeMornings events have their own rituals - a coffee, a bite to eat and meeting likeminded people – so it was lovely to add an enlightening session by Daniela Fuentes to this event.
In her studio B.Yoga Daniela delved with us into ancient practices that serve as vital reminders of our human essence, fostering a sense of connection, purpose, and creativity. And during the rebirth ritual that Daniela did with us, we were able to let go of stressful issues and open ourselves up to new, positive impulses.
Many thanks for being such a great speaker Daniela, for opening up not only your beautiful studio but also this world of personal growth and creative endeavors for us!
We really enjoyed this gentle start to Friday morning, bonding with you, our community on a whole different level and your great interest in this topic! See you around, hopefully still relaxed, in September for the next event!

Mark Rothko, Untitled, 1968
Oil on paper mounted on canvas
© 1998 Kate Rothko Prizel and Christopher Rothko (ars)
© Fondation Beyeler, Basel 75.7 X 55 cm
An imperfect scan from the old Taschen book, but a painting we would not ordinarily see otherwise. Rothko made a number of green dominant paintings of a similar nature over the course of his life
(this rothko went missing from tumblr, reposting it now)

Art | Basel sneak preview 3/4
We are proud to present for the first time an initial set of new work at Art | Basel 2024 You can see it at Elvira Gonzalez gallery BOOTH F13 | Hall 2.0 JUNE 11 - 16, 2024
As most part of our photographs, these pieces are also inspired by Nihonga, a type of Japanese painting that draws on different styles. Many of them use traditional techniques and materials such as mineral pigments, washi paper, and silk painting.
This new work in particular is an exploration of the intersection between the gestural Western abstraction and the profound symbolism found in the Japanese folding screens ( 屏風 - byōbu) through the medium of photography. Using classical photographic effects such as inversion, sabatier effect, polarization or masking, this body of work seeks to distil the essence of the fleeting beauty of nature, presenting abstract images that evoke a sense of wonder and contemplation and invite viewers on a journey of exploration and discovery.
As part of “The indestructible” series: “Using an image captured with a camera and the possibilities of the photographic medium, we can create photographs that are not a faithful display of reality but an exploration of the limits of reality. The photographic medium, for us, becomes an extension of the human visual capacity. Our goal is to create photographic objects that create in viewers their very own experience of their encounter with the boundary between the real and the unreal.”

Paul Klee Landscape with yellow birds 1923
Watercolor on cardboard - 44 x 35.5 cm
(Basel, Doetsch Benziger collection)
Here nature, music, memories, bright colour and naive designs are all found in this expressive landscape - “art does not reproduce what is visible, but it makes visible what is not always so”. Here imagination and “taking the line for a walk,” as he advised his students, to create new worlds with their own rules and unique perspective .

The song is the call and the land is calling The land is calling the vanished through the song The land haunts us And we haunt them The shadow, the echo, the ghosts of what remain
The loss of our land haunts us. Having been severed from the land we are haunted by it. A forbidden land like a forbidden love. Until we became fire and fire us explore various forms of hauntings, love stories bound to loss, land and self, forms of imprisonment and the call to get free, with sound and song being at the heart of this exploration. In it all is a search for a reconnection to a severed broken land, community, history, one that haunts, imprisons and moves us all at once. The project is a mixed media installation with multiple channel sound and video. It formally explores the idea of hauntings in its aural and visual content and the way in which this material appears and disappears into a given space. Sometimes appearing as poetry from a dissonant voice, a broken melody or intense flashes of text and video, or an imprint from a forbidden land, a forbidden love.
This work is part of the wider May amnesia never kiss us on the mouth project

Runde 8 - Tag 2
Tumblr media
Ole, der ehh TET?
Um drei Uhr der Beschluss, mhh mäßig kühles Wetter, Zeit ist noch also nach kurzer Pause nahe Lyon was gefunden und sind ja nur 100 km.
Tumblr media
Grün, und grün, mit grün
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hass.
AnwALT eingeschaltet, trotzdem lustig
Tumblr media
Mit Korken und so, muss gut sein
Immerhin etwas.
Morgen, keine ahnung mal Wetter Bericht prüfen..
