S3 ep 14 damaged! I get rossi is traumatized and obsessed or whatever but he treats penelope so poorly im angry!! Penelope did not deserve to be barged in on like that!!!

Anyway rossi being obsessed with the past is not my fav genre of episode but here we are

i know i've screamed about this before but there absolutely was no damn reason for the camera to zoom in on hotch signing his divorce papers and then having it zoom out to the bullpen and focusing on emily walking into it.....no reason!!!

"bUt ThAts JuSt wHeRe Her DeSk iS" okay but they couldve zoomed out to an empty bullpen. that wouldve made more sense. it could signify how empty/alone hotch feels, which we know from that sweet little scene with hotch opening up a little bit to spencer about the divorce

BUT NO they zoom out on emily who walks into frame and then sits down at her desk where the camera keeps zooming out keeping both emily and hotch in focus and then sits there for a second

im going to break into the writers room and eat their shoes

i really love 3x14 damaged and 3x18 the crossing for how they split the team—(in 3x14, hotch and reid interview hardwick and the rest look into rossi's old case, in 3x18 hotch and rossi investigate the woman who killed her husband and the rest of the team go on the stalking case) and i wish they had done it a little more often. i like how both episodes give glimpses into the other jobs the bau performs, and how they showcase the dynamic between just two members of the team. i can't recall any other episodes that do that off the top of my head (disclaimer that the furthest ive gotten in my past viewings is 5x1) but if anyone has other examples, feel free to share! (even if they're past 5x1. gives me something extra to be excited about because i love it when cm episodes have A and B plots)

So, I'm rewatching CM again.

The ending of the underrated 3x14 - the one in which Rossi's 20yo cold case of the 3 kids' parents being murdered gets solved - was excellent. Rossi realizing that the unsub was not quite the cruel monster he was looking for hits so well in such a strange way.

That, and the quick shot as the 3 kids as actual children always makes me tear up. I wish they would've been brought up later on.
