FNaF World: Welcome to the Freakshow!

Today I challenged myself to see how many characters I could complete in one day. We've got a lot to cover, so let's get started with...

Scrap Baby!

Pizzeria Simulator's iconic wretched dumpster clown!

Some of my finest modeling and animation! Scrap baby was a doozy of a design to try to simplify. She practically has the detail of every Sister Location character combined! Naturally, this proved to be quite the challenge, but in the end it turned out great. The shapes are very smooth and the rigging is exquisite. You can hardly even tell with how swift the animations are, but I was very deliberate with how those little wire-orb things were rigged. They move with the limbs and body to skillfully avoid obvious instances of clipping!

There were lots of hooks and curves involved in the blender process, and it was a meticulous and precarious process, but I managed to pull Scrap Baby together in about three days. After finishing her today, I figured "Hey, why not do a couple more! I have it in me!" And with that, my quest began. The next character(s?) I tackled was...

The Minireena duo!

Everyone's favorite claustrophobic nightmare children!

I decided to go with two of them, in reference to Sister Location Custom Night's two different sets of Minireenas, and also because just one would be far too small!

Now these little punks were a delightfully obnoxious design process! I'd never had the (dis)pleasure of working with two separate armatures in one character before this, and it was quite the challenge. But you all know I like a good modeling/animation challenge. It gives the sometimes boring process some novelty!

Sidenote: Minireenas' eyes are kind of weird. They show up only in specific instances, but are absent the rest of the time. Obviously so, as you can see their little endoskeleton in their custom night icon. No eyes! I think Scott just needed a way to make their jumpscares a little more intense, and didn't want to worry about giving them eyes anywhere else. But hey, those beady yellow peepers definitely worked! They're quite the uncanny sight!

Next, we've got the one, the only...

Bonnet!

Sister Location Custom Night's very own adorable nuisance!

Remember earlier, when I mentioned how just one Minireena would be too small by itself? There wasn't any getting around it this time. Bonnet is, by all accounts, a palette swap of Bon Bon, but does that hold her back from having her very own identity independent of his? Absolutely not! Bonnet has set herself apart with her signature mosey, her insecurity about her (literal) button nose, and her unnerving ability to maneuver around without the aid of an uncanny, leg-bearing, scary bear companion! (Try saying that five times fast!)

It's a little tough to make a character like this work on their own, but I managed to pull it off, and have somehow produced some of my favorite animations so far. Her big leap is very rabbit-like, and it's pretty natural-looking. Her hurt animation has a little shiver to it, like she's shuddering from discomfort. Her animations managed to be very lifelike, despite the limitations of the character's design.

Lolbit!

The oddball salesman adapted for the screen!

Kind of an odd choice of character, considering Lolbit's already been in FNaF World, but with their breakout roles in Sister Location Custom Night and Ultimate Custom Night since their initial debut, I figured it was prudent to include them. My working theory is that once the story of FNaF World had concluded, Lolbit got bored of hanging around in Animatronica, and decided to find some business elsewhere, winding up with their unforgettable inclusion as a face on a series of screens that forces you to type buttons on your keyboard. Not the most stunning appearance, but hey, it's unique! And it's funding the development of new and better Bytes! Then once their contract expired, Lolbit returned to Animatronica to continue developing Bytes, only to find that new shopkeepers had arrived to take their place. Naturally, this meant Lolbit had only one thing left to do: tag along with the adventurers to find someplace to sell without competition!

In contrast to Funtime Foxy's monstrousness, I gave Lolbit the cheeky, cheerful charisma they've been rocking in every one of their appearances across the franchise. As a result, Lolbit's animations are teeming with callous impudence!

Finally, the character you've all been waiting for, the main attraction, the star of the show... It's:

Gumball Swivelhands!

Pizzeria Simulator's shockingly stupendous sweet-supplier!

Bet you weren't expecting this one, were you? Move over Candy Cadet, Gumball Swivelhands is the new star of the candy-dispensing show!

This character was unexpectedly fun to animate, and I adored the opportunity to model its face, but I must say, that expression seems awfully familiar. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it makes me feel a profoundly frustrated sense of déjà vu...

Pizzeria Simulator is chock-full of memorable character designs, and despite its apparent genericity, there's always been something striking to me about Gumball Swivelhands. A concentrated sense of whimsy permeates this character like the suffocating aroma of six different flavors of bubble gum surrounds a gumball machine.

To me, this is what FNaF World is all about! Identifying and celebrating even the strangest corners of Five Nights at Freddy's history! There's a place for iconic, fan-favorite characters, right alongside obscure, sometimes even downright forgettable weirdos like this one! Five Nights at Freddy's is a freakshow, but not one that ridicules its freaks, one that holds them up high with a combination of joy and pride, like a father whose son has won the big sports game. "That's my son!" FNaF says, gesturing to the Eggbaby. "Hooray!" I scream from the bleachers. "Three cheers for these wonderful weirdos! Hip hip, hooray!"

Ada Wong

Can tell when something is about to happen moments before it does.

A slightly uneven floorboard? A prop is going to drop from the ceiling.

A small hole in the wall? A scare actor is going to jumpscare the two of you.

Would she tell you though? Absolutely not.

She finds your reactions too adorable and makes a mental note to take some pictures for later down the road.

Ada isn’t a screamer though. She’d either gasp very loudly or stiffen up like a tree.

She enjoyed it though and decides to search for more horror attractions around the area to go to with you.

Chris Redfield

You constantly had to remind him that nothing bad will happen and it’s all staged.

That doesn’t stop Chris from being over protective anyway by constantly shielding you whenever a prop would pop up to jumpscare you.

Even a sudden loud noise and Chris has his arms wrapped around you like a bear.

That is until he sees how shitty all the props and costumes are and he starts to roast them.

“Who made zombies green? Are you seeing this shit, babe? You know I used to punch through these like they were cardboard-”

He ends up rambling about how inaccurate the monsters are but overall has a good time.

Claire Redfield

Would be screaming with you most likely.

The type to spend most of it laughing out of fear but also enjoyment. Mostly fear though.

Claire would definitely hype you up if you got too freaked out and would drag you along the whole journey.

Or similarly to Chris she would be roasting the shit out of all the props in the house.

With Claire’s track record the two of you end up in a completely different part of the house that you definitely should not be in.

She tried to climb through the windows and gaps the scare actors are in.

Probably ends in the two of you getting kicked out but Claire manages to steal one of the props as a souvenir.

Ethan Winters

Considering this man looked at spider Maguerite and said “well that’s special” I feel like he wouldn’t be fazed at all.

Would also find your reactions amusing and occasionally tease you for it.

Tries to touch everything or figure out the mechanics of each room

He’d give the scare actors his iconic 500 yard stare whenever they would try to jumpscare him.

He would hold your hand through out the whole thing though.

But as soon as Ethan hears a chainsaw he is bolting and screaming like his life depends on it.

Also bugs.

And with bugs means lots of swearing.

Leon Kennedy

Would pretend to be unfazed for the most part but internally he is screaming.

He promises to protect you from the spooky ghosts and zombies.

He would tease you constantly whenever you got spooked but would immediately eat shit afterwards.

“Aww did that scare you? Honestly you wouldn't last a day at my-”

He’s immediately cut off by his own scream after someone grabs his shoulder.

Holds your hand to ‘make sure you don’t get lost by wandering off’ but really he needs you for support.

Leon really hates clowns though.

If he spots one its either getting roundhouse kicked or he’s turning around and never coming back.

gordon ramsey coming out in support of drivers swearing, subsequently you can watch him make the CONSCIOUS decision to swear, and then his mic getting cut. pure cinema. gordon ramsey is an incredible icon.

lando norris pr, you continue your success story. he was a great spokesperson for mclaren today, and honestly i think he can stop pointing out his point deficit to max now as he gets ready for this new season. for better or for worse, he WAS P2 last year, and in his first ever truly competitive season. mclaren got a lot of the strategy right, and lando learned a lot. he can stand to be more assertive as he gears up for the season.

mercedes. if your 'special moment' for the livery reveal was gonna be a pitstop. it had to be a good pitstop. unfortunately. it was not. so it was just kinda awkward.

BUT mercedes redemption arc, the family reunion on the red carpet with lewis was super adorable

VCARB intro video was legitimately funny. would have loved to see the driver's reactions to that.

alpine dj was...just really weird. kept panning to old retired drivers and just other miscellaneous senior citizens who looked like edm might put them into an early grave.

FNaF DBD Chapter Speculation

Characters and Cosmetics

As we're sure you've heard, FNaF is coming to DBD after YEARS of being requested! We thought it'd be fun to look at who the potential characters coming to the game could be, and their cosmetics as well (that's the real fun part).

First, who do we think is gonna be added to the game?

Considering this crossover didn't get green lit until the success of the movie, we're gonna say it's all movie based.

Safest bet is:

Killer- The Yellow Rabbit

Survivors- Mike and Vanessa

They make the most sense, they're the main antagonist and protagonists of the movie respectively. Obviously excluding Abby, but we doubt they'd ever add her. There are no little kid survivors in DBD.

Now onto potential cosmetics!

This is mainly just stuff we'd like to see based on previous games as there isn't much cosmetic options present in the movie. Mixing the games and the movie is a smart idea to entice and excite fans of the franchise anyway!

The Yellow Rabbit:

Alright this one was obvious. Of course they're gonna do this. How could they not?

Freddy Fazbear

It is an interesting dilemma that the name sake of the franchise is so unimportant. So it wouldn't be surprising if Freddy got a skin. The skins are still canon to the Entity's realm as well, so fret not.

Probably his most iconic costume from the AR game! But maybe we are biased, clown characters are always the best.

Mike Schmidt:

The event that started it all. Maybe? Probably not actually. But it certainly was a messy event! Both for the lore and William's business!

Vanessa Afton Shelly:

Ok just gonna put in now that we are extremely biased for Vanessa. Besides the DCA, she is our favorite character from the games and movie! Security Breach was an amazing concept that was unfortunately executed poorly. It's a shame Vanessa and Vanny never really got their chance to shine.

Game Vanessa, what more is there to say? White girl jumpscare!

Vanny

Now it'd be hard to give her the full suit, players would think she's a killer. But maybe they could give her a mask, similar to Cassie's in Ruin. This mask would just be a head only accessory. Mainly meant to go on the game accurate outfit.

Rainbow Hair And Pronouns

In the AR game when Vanessa was going by "Ness" she was described as having rainbow hair streaks. It is a shame this was never in the game. Please girl, come slay. Kill that old man William with your pronouns, hair dye, and definitely lesbianism.

Charlie Emily:

Another separate character costume. Charlie was the very first female protagonist in the FNaF franchise and really the first in depth fleshed out character we ever got. So fuck of course she deserves a spot! The original novel trilogy is what led to so much of the lore we have today. Sure the novels had their weird moments, but Charlie was a stand out amazing character. We miss novel Charlie, this would be a great way to bring her back!

That's all we've got for character and cosmetic ideas! We assume the map(s) will just be an indoor pizzeria layout of some kind. But as someone who fucking hates indoor DBD maps it'll be a pipe dream they add an outdoor Fall Fest map to tease The Secret Of the Mimic. That'll never happen though so ignore that and chug salt.

I haven’t watched much horror movies at all. My mom forbade them and I’m finally out from her clutches. What are your top 15 movies that I need to see?

ohhggggg okay. first you should know that a lot of horror is people processing familial trauma through film (and my top recommendation is this specific genre) and that it's cathartic and beautiful and really scary sometimes. also everyone reacts differently to different types of horror so never feel bad about not being able/not wanting to finish a horror film !! they're overwhelming on purpose!

THAT BEING SAID

1. Hereditary - my top watch of all time, an all around beautiful and EXTREMELY TRAUMATIC film. DO NOT WATCH THIS FIRST!!!!!!!!

2. Scream - absolutely hilarious iconic series, very comedic horror, watch the first and maybe 2-4 but don't bother watching beyond the 4th movie i promise. kiss gale weathers for me

3. Saw - this movie series is absolute batshit nonsense it makes no sense and i love it. if you don't think you can do gore/torture i wouldn't bother with any of the saw movies as they are heavy on blood and flesh and Noises

4. Pearl - more family-centric horror!!! mia goth my scream queeeeeeen my favorite of the unofficial X Trilogy

5. Hellraiser (2022) - this is a reimagining of the original Hellraiser but it's 99% sexier and that's what's up

6. No Exit - i think this one might be more thriller than horror but tbh idk the difference, if you're triggered by drug use don't watch this one but it's sick as hell and kept me on my toes

7. Fear Street Trilogy - love love love this multi-decade campy cliche movie trilogy, with a beautiful story imo !!!! very graphic but queer and the message is love

8. Midsommar - lovveeee oversaturated colorful horror, lots of religious trauma and cult dynamics

9. The VVitch - the quote everyone knows says it all. wouldst thou like to live deliciously?

10. Nightmare on Elm Street - one of the classics that holds up today imo, the first scare got me good !!

11. Smile (2022) - honestly scared the actual shit out of me! very psychological horror with scenes that catch you incredibly off guard, the jumpscares were almost too much for me and the ending was just sequel-bait but otherwise big ups

12. It (1990) - a stephen king classic and Tim Curry is honestly terrifying just. as tim curry LMAO clown makeup aside

13. The Shining - another stephen king classic with lots of lore and theories and i'm partial to this one bc The Stanley Hotel is in Colorado which is where i'm from lolol

14. Insidious - honestly just a great film for getting educated on movie demonology lore before going into other demon movies. but watch out! 👹

15. Black Swan - kinda more thriller than horror but honestly a beautiful horror film with (you guessed it!) more family trauma and mila kunis goes down on natalie portman also. soooooo

Closing thots: I had fun watching this! I probably would have enjoyed it a lil more if I knew anything abt Ghost or the other riders, but thankfully this was mostly an ex-aid movie ft. others so it didn't dampen the viewing experience all that much. I liked seeing Tanahashi for the whole 2 minutes of screentime he got, the slingblade to Drive was sick as fuck. Plentiful Emu ryona as well; slightly less graphic than when Asakura shoved light tube glass into his eyeballs but still pretty brutal! And hot! The clown was real. It was unsettling to some, scary to others, and annoying to everyone. The clown, when clicked, changed the website's background from blue to old-timey newspaper-looking things all about one piece, none of them readable, just ~*aesthetic*~. That's it, that's all it did. And the problem with that was the fact that the clown's hit box was HUGE. So very many accidental clicks. Try to reblog? Nope, you got the clown. Try to like? Clown time again. The clown was fixed in one position on your screen (roughly where the stationary ad shows up on the right side of the dash on the web version, unsure about on mobile), and the dashboard scrolled on a layer beneath the clown, it so it was always on top, staring at you, and you could. not. remove. it. About 14-18ish hours after it showed up, it got replaced by a dumb cartooney skull and crossbones after, presumably, people complained loudly enough, and then even the skull was removed entirely shortly thereafter. (Bonus: icons are back on posts now. Not sure if there's a correlation, but it happened at approximately the same time). Mobile users didn't get the clown. I know some people with adblock did and had to manually select it to be destroyed, which worked for them. If you go looking for it, I know many of the posts complaining about the clown included a picture of it, so it shouldn't be too hard to find.

and the newspaper articles weren't even readable? on the getting overly invested in lore and minutiae website? missed opportunity there, idk if that would have made the whole debacle better but at least people would have been talking about the lore on your evil clown jumpscare.

Thoughts on Funtime Foxy? I’m brainrotting over him-

The funtimes aren't my top favorite animatronic era, that goes to the security breach and the fnaf 1 mascots.

Most of the funtimes I'm pretty neutral on since the most I can say about them is just: "neat."

I'll list my thoughts on each of them in case anyone else asks.

Baby:

Cool concept for an antagonist and I feel sympathetic for her

Wish she was actually in the game more, having her own jumpscare and more physical appearances instead of just voiceovers.

Her design is cool, clown girl aesthetic goes hard.

Ballora:

Was under utilized but she's still cool in a mysterious way.

... animatronic boobies

I like characters that have their eyes perpetually closed, also she's just pretty as a design (and still creepy)

The fact that she also crawls around like a spider is also pretty neat

Funtime Freddy (ft. Bonbon):

This Freddy iteration is just... chaotic in ways I never expected and I think I can enjoy him for it

The concept of: psychotic killer with a calculated mind of his own being gaslit by a sock puppet is hilarious

I don't simp for him, he's just a silly guy that I can appreciate from a safe distance

Funtime Foxy:

I always hypothesized that they're just pre-mangle... (I know they aren't but it feels like it makes sense if that was the case)

I like their voice

Genderfluid icon (alongside mangle and lolbit)

I don't have any other opinion... they're neat.
