Clover Club !

Ingredients:

2 ounces gin

1/2 ounce raspberry syrup or grenadine syrup

1 ounce fresh lemon juice

1 egg white*

Garnish with fresh raspberries

Instructions:

Add the gin, raspberry syrup, lemon juice and egg white into a cocktail shaker without ice.

Shake for 15 seconds.

Add ice to the cocktail shaker, and shake it again for at least 30 seconds.

Strain the micture into a coupe glass

Garnish with fresh raspberries.

1. Chris Black Changed My Life by Portugal. The Man (the whole album) it's pretty seamless, so I tend to just listen to the whole thing instead of one particular song. Once I learned it was made in response to a close friend of the band passing away, I appreciated it more than on my first listen.

2. Sensitive (Eng ver.) by Loossemble I couldn't really get into most of the album but I really like the title track 👍

3. New Human Race except its the Creuzer Len cover I still can't get over how cool the tuning is..I can't stop listening to it I like it so much more than the original 😭 have also been listening to the other creuzer covers I uploaded here a lot

4. Seal by The Chemical Brothers went back and listened to We Are The Night and there's a lot of songs on there I really like, this ones a vibe

5. Voidroid by r-906 wish this song was longer 💔 really been into pretty much everything r-906 has been putting out lately

;; jist of everything is that minori "rinrin" starts composing to improve her abilities in idol auditions (don't question it), then (in order) airi "riri" gets roped in as the mv maker, then shizuku "rook" as the artist and after a whole lotta plot and sekai shenanigans, haruka "ruka" as the lyricist.

;; their personalities and whatnot are mostly the same. minori is super energetic and hopeful, for all except three hours of the day where she's the opposite (luckily she's usually asleep), haruka is haruka except sleep deprived and the guilt complex is worse, talking to airi is a 50/50 on whether she'll glare at you or walk away and shizuku... we'll get to that.

;; their sekai is the fairytale sekai and it's basically a massive forest, except for the one massive clearing that has a stage. except the stage is not in good condition..

;; each vocaloid is based off of a different fairytale thing. miku (princess) and luka (witch) are their starting vocaloids, but (in order) rin (some sorta forest spirit-esque thing) shows up in colour of myself, meiko (mythical creature tamer) shows up in you deserve it! break time!, kaito (royalty) shows up for worldwide wander and len (also some sorta forest spirit-esque thing) shows up at some other point that i haven't decided.

;; the order of events is slightly shuffled, only because colour of myself needs to be first. because colour of myself is the "shizuku quit your job" event. did i mention that she didn't quit during the main story? yeah she never gets the push she needs to quit and stays there. -> because the cloverdamned turning point quote is haruai

;; which leads back to the "and shizuku... we'll get to that." comment. yeah she's not doing well. she's been balancing work and these meetings (one of which she enjoys and finds comfort in. hint: it isn't the one involving her groupmates who hate her) so she's stressed, dealing with perfectionism and all that.

;; at some point in colour of myself, minori gets really sick and shizuku is very iffy about it. (her and rin were witness to minori starting her "sekai research", part one of which was to eat plants in the sekai. something bad happened.) that's the most random fact anyway continuing on

;; minori solves her problems in every event by getting a whole lot of sugar in her system, acting like 'normal' then sugar crashing at about four am. which is when she sleeps for three hours or just cries for no discernable reason. then she repeats this at seven am.

;; group relationship wise is funny because. minori is more chill about being in a group with the other three (having worked out their identities way before they all worked out each others and having time to process that).

;; so minoharu is along the lines of "ruka-chan responds to my kindness with trust issues. what do i do"

;; minoai is airi daring minori to do dumb stuff and minori doing it then airi getting incredibly concerned as she injures herself in more and more unhinged ways

;; and minoshizu is "[says anything]" "yeah, same".

;; haruai are attempting to murder each other at any given point. i would be joking but one of their first interactions (that ive written) in sekai is: "oh are you not gonna say hello to your groupmate momoi?" "go fuck yourself." "id rather not."

;; harushizu are looking at each other's situations and going "at least mine isn't that bad". <- they are both bad in different ways

;; shizuai is shizuai. airi is the main encourager for shizuku getting out of cheerful*days and shizuku is the number one fan of airi.

;; all of them are clingy, in very different ways. minori just needs to be able to hear them over call or see them and she's happy. shizuku will just grab onto people (airi or minori usually). airi and haruka act like they aren't clingy but panic if they haven't heard anything from one of their groupmates in a day.

Denne estetikkbomben er cocktailen Clover Club som ble skapt av bartenderen George Bolt som også eide Bellevue Stratford Hotel i Philadelphia, USA. Fra slutten av 1800-tallet til tidlig på 1900-tallet var det en herreklubb der – Clover Club – og der drakk de denne. I de fleste oppskrifter lages den stort sett med bringebærsirup (raspberry syrup), men granateplesirup (grenadine) var det som opprinnelig ble brukt, skal vi tro oppskriften som i 1909 ble trykket i The Pittsburgh Press. Én del tørr vermouth
En halv del ferskpresset sitronsaft
En halv del eggehvite
En halv del granateplesirup
En skvett sukkerlake (simple syrup) Shake alle ingrediensene i cirka ti sekunder, uten is. Fyll deretter shakeren med is og shake i cirka ti sekunder til. Sil i et glass, gjerne en coupe som chez moi. Det skjønne skummet øverst, er det eggehviten som besørger. Stella og jeg skulle egentlig ha reist en tur til Bergen i neste uke, men på grunn av koronaen bestemte jeg meg i dag for å avlyse. Jeg hadde i det lengste håpet på et mirakel. London Date Night

So yesterday was mine and Charlie’s 3 year anniversary and to celebrate we went out in London for a fancy meal and a few too many cocktails!

I really love London, as it has so much to offer. Whatever your taste or budget there is something for you. As Charlie has only recently moved to London, we aren’t too familiar with all the hot spots to check out. I did a little bit of research beforehand but with all the amazing options- it’s almost too much to choose from.

Charlie’s colleagues and his auntie recommended Flat Iron- a steakhouse in Covent Garden, so we thought we’d give it a try, and I’m sooooooo glad we did.

Before dinner we went for some drinks at The Covent Garden Cocktail Club. When you arrive you’re greeted with a slightly battered sign, and some sketchy stairs that lead you down into a dark basementy-type place. As soon as you open the door the wave of music instantly hits. We didn’t actually realise that it was a members-only club but one of the waiters said we seemed really nice so he would sign us in as his guests (what a babe). He then told us they had a 2 for £12 deal on all their cocktails which was a result, as when we looked at the menu drinks were a little expensive for my student budget. Although it’s defo worth it. 

When you are sat down it’s all table service, and you get given some water and popcorn straight away- which was a nice touch. 

For our first drinks we both got a Clover Club, which is Gin based with raspberry, lemon and egg white. I really enjoyed this one, it was so smooth and was the perfect amount of sweetness to it. These drinks were gone not long after the photo, they were too yummy for me to sip slowly!

Next up, Espresso Martini. I love espresso martinis so much but everywhere you go they always taste really different. Personally, I liked the strong taste of coffee but this drink was a little too sweet for me. But I can overlook that cos it came with a Bourbon biscuit which dipped in the drink was SO naughty but so nice. 

Overall the vibe in bar was so good, we went in before 7 and it felt like 1am inside. Everyone was quite drunk and having a good time, the music was loud and good, which is super important. The bartenders were all a bit nuts in the butts, but in a good way- really enthusiastic, singing, and having a laugh with the customers. Not long after we arrived one of the bartenders actually got up onto the bar to light a huge tower of Flaming Lamborghini shots which was really weird but looked amazing. I would definitely recommend The CGCC if you're up for a freaky night where things get messy VERY quickly. Good vibes, good drinks, great staff.

Flat Iron. oh my. 

The BEST steak I have ever had and it is really reasonably priced! 10/10 for this restaurant. 

But as they say, good things come to those who wait... and wait we did. An hour and a half for a table but we left my number and they text you when the table is ready, which meant we could go for a wander and get another drink. Drinks in there were lovely too, I had a Sloe Gin Bellini which was really refreshing and easy to drink. Charlie was also really impressed with his old fashioned, and after being a bartender for quite a few years he can be a bit of an alcohol snob (and so can I at times thanks to him, sorry babes xx) so I’m glad he was really pleased with his drink! 

The restaurant itself is really modern and trendy, lots of marble, wood and a neon sign. Classic Instagram hangout. Dimmed light and candles give the restaurant the classy, chilled vibe which really compliments the whole aesthetic of the place.  

As for the food, we both got steak with peppercorn sauce and the “dripping cooked chips” (probably so bad for you but they tasted unreal). It also came with salad and more popcorn (which is almost nearly gone in the pic, oops). 

I was really impressed with the quality of the food, considering for one person’s meal it’s only £14.50. The steak was cooked perfectly, exactly how I asked for it and it was not at all chewy or fatty- just pure tasty. The portion size was perfect for me and filled me up nicely, but Charlie did say he could have eaten it again, so maybe not somewhere to go if you have a really big appetite.

A £5 service charge was included on the bill, we don’t really like paying service charges normally as they don’t always go to the staff, but we were reassured that the staff do get the money. The staff were lovely and our waiter was more than happy to take a few pics for us, getting those angles, flash/no flash you know the drill.

Another really great thing about this restaurant is on your way out you get free ice cream! Free food ?? In Central London ?? W I N N E R !!!

So if you want to enjoy the finer things on small (ish) budget I would 100% recommend this place. Well worth the money and I would gladly go back ♡

As it was a special occasion, it was the perfect excuse to buy a new outfit. Normally leopard print scares me because it can either look amazing or something Miranda Priestly (if you know you know) would cast a shed load of shame upon if it’s worn wrong. I found this super cute dress and it was only £22.99, bargain queen em strikes again :))) X And OBVS the shoes were a bargain too, last pair, my size, £8.99. 

Now Charlie is in London, I’m so excited to go out and explore new places so expect plenty more mini reviews to come.
