LET ME GIVE YOU SOME RUN DOWNS FOR OUR HONEY BEE IN VERSE THAT YOU INSPIRED
001 - their first meeting. rufus wandered down below after his father's death and power was secured to learn more about him - like what the fuck he did down there. was it all for primal desire or was there business dealings he should be keen on. it just so happened that the night rufus and his crew went down there was the night there was an auction - cloud's first auction ( which he absolutely wanted no part of ; cloud is a ornery little bee :] ]. naturally cloud had many bids .. which prompted rufus to keep outbidding until he won.
rufus is surprised to find himself attracted to a bee; this place reminded him of where his father would've rather been than with his family - but he could at least be assured he never touched this bee. though rufus bought his company and could do as he liked, they'd simply talked.. much to cloud's surprise. though cloud really didn't have much information about his father. rufus books him again. cloud, thinking this time he was the sex stripped down to his boxers in his office ( assumed this was some office kink play ). ru liked what he saw but wanted no such thing ; he was simply touring cloud around his kingdom ~ cloud wanted to die of embarrassment. the third booking rufus pays way for cloud to go to his estate in junon. cloud normally doesn't take bookings outside of the inn due to how dangerous they could be but even if he didn't want to go - you don't say 'no' to the most powerful man in the world and the honey bee inn is just OKAY with it. so cloud goes. dinner and drink is ready. cloud isn't used to being wined and dined - just wham bamed thank you ma'amed. then they go on a walk around junon where rufus tours cloud around. looking out at the bay they share their first kiss. things get heavier once they get back home though they decide to hold off from sex for now - they want it to be known the other is sexually healthy. in our thread they are on their way back to midgar and speaking on the plane ride ( which cloud is having a rough time, his poor stomach ), of which cloud is going to get PEPPERED with SO MANY QUESTIONS by fellow bees when he finally gets back to the hive below.
that's the first thread we've got - there's 4 in total ( maybe 5 soon with them teaching each other some dances ). but wanted to feed you some deets :]
WOW I really love this!!
I like that Shinra Sr. is already gone, and thereâs this degree to which Rufus has to unravel the mystery of his fatherâs devious plans and connections. The idea of Rufus at the Honeybee even having to think *for a second* about the possibility that his father had already been in a similar spot, possibly with the same facesâŠyikes.
Also, the fact that Cloud is like a proper escort, and Rufus mustâve been almost instantly determined to genuinely win him overâŠughhhh the romance of it all!đ„č

With fingers woven, he gives a slanted smile before gesturing for Cloud (@cloudvii) to take a seat across from him by means of a nod to his head. "That may be the case. However, sessions are an hour long. I'm afraid you're stuck here for anotherâŠ" The sleeve is pulled back from his wrist to expose his timepiece. "⊠fifty minutes."
On the contrary, Hannibal thinks this is the greatest gift ever. "If Rufus ShinRa has brought you to my door, he must care for your wellbeing. He isn't so facetious with his money or so I heard. Least one forget, the greatest gift is a sound mind." He tapped the side of his temple.
"Rufus ShinRa is paying for my therapy with you. I'll make this easy; he's the problem. Now we're done here. Enjoy the fat check." worst b-day gift.

@cloudvii 's Garnet sent: â you are sick in the head. â // pretend this is from Garnet's blog .. for when I eventually move her to side-blog b/c logging in and out is tiring and I'm old â„
|| ||Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â "My. What a thing to say to a noble who has traversed such great distances to seek an audience with his Queen~." He clutched at his chest where his dying heart lay, as though her words had pierced him there; like a dagger, perhaps~.
"And I suppose you claim soundness of mind? After all you've weathered to secure that crown... How delightful. Admittedly, I hadn't pegged you for someone of such... resilience. Perhaps that's a trait inherited from your mother."
He turned then to regard the 'lovely' portrait of the late Queen, ensconced in its gilded frame in the grand hall, her expression greedily content. "But she wasnât, was she? Your mother, I mean. Resilience she may have had, but a summoner she was not."
He looked back at the young queen over his shoulder after a moment of thought, fingers thoughtfully tapping his chin. "Curious how that came to be, no? The elephant woman never did disclose much about you... But now she's not here to hinder my inquiries~."
With a dramatic flourish of feathers and silks, he spun to face her fully, bowing deeply, hand extended in a mocking offer to dance, "You know well what a fascinating enigma you remain to me~. The servants say no one is more beautiful; the courtiers claim no one is more noble; and the king, before his passing, declared no one held a higher place in his heart... Yet he was no summoner either. So, Canary, where did you flutter in from?"

@cloudvii cont from here
When he'd stopped by and heard Cloud was at the inn, Shivan hadn't hesitated for a second. He'd immediately headed out without bothering to clean off the makeup that was no doubt running with his tears. The inn owner hadn't stopped him at all, just pointed the way to Cloud's room. It wasn't the first time Shivan had shown up like this and sadly, wouldn't be the last.
His eyes widened however as Cloud stepped out instead of offering to let him in, putting a hand on the blondes arm. "No- please don't go and fight them." Shivan pleaded softly. "It was one of the Don's men, I just-... I was just getting off work. I'm fine, Cloud, really."
He wasn't, but he didn't want Cloud to get into any trouble for him. Fighting with clients was already bad enough, and Cloud got into more fights than he did. He didn't want to find out what would happen if he ended up trying to fight one of Corneo's lackeys instead of some rich client. There was no doubt in his mind it would be a worse outcome.
"I was just hoping I could spend the night with you, instead of going back home. I missed the train thanks to everything- I have some money to cover half of your room, I promise I'm not just going to stay free with you." He added.

â well, i'll just jump off that bridge when I come to it. â
buffy the vampire sentences | @cloudvii
"Doing that won't save the world, you know."
He said it dryly as he settled down onto a fallen piece of large driftwood. It's surface worn smooth from the ocean. A small pit in the middle of a circle of them burned low against the dark night sky. It was a stop of many on their journey.
When in truth, Soleil wanted to do the same. It all felt so bleak and impossible most days. But they had to, didn't they? No one else would be able to do it. At least, that's what he told himself. As if it was some grand destiny foisted upon them, when in reality it was luck of the draw after many unfortunate events.
Soleil looked down at the flames for a long moment, expression somber. He wasn't any good at motivational speech, but he'd at least try. At least try to make light of it a little.
"We're so far now, it would foolish to stop now." A slight teasing smile tugged at his lips. "If you do try it, I will tuck you under my arm and carry you like a football the rest of the way. I can't let you give up that easily."

"They say don't meet your heroes, they're all fucking weirdos." // Reno @ Tseng
Tseng's lip twitched slightly in amusement, amber eyes flicking over to the other before he looked back down at his phone again. "I wasn't aware that was how the saying went. I thought it was supposed to be 'you'll be disappointed' at the end." He commented.

@cloudvii asked" â I stay awake at night because I don't even know what my favorite color is and I'm afraid I don't have a real personality. â
For a moment she stared at the blonde. Just stared. Like she was trying to make sense of his words. âYou have a personality doofus.â Oh, if anyone in this group had a personality it was Cloud. âLike, very clearly have a personality. Like you could read it from fucking space personality.â Maybe that wasnât comforting, but it was the truth. If anything, sometimes she thought he had a little but too much personality but that wasnât for her to say or judge.Â
Though, she knew a little about the realness of personalities. It wasnât like Yuffie was naturally annoying most of the time, she liked to turn it on. A conscious choice to put distance between herself and real conversation. Being annoying was easier and more effective at getting people to not ask questions than anything else she had found.Â
With a small bump of her elbow into his side, and a smile, she tried to lighten the mood. Mostly she didnât just want him thinking she was being dismissive, even if she thought the sentiment was kind of silly. âI mean youâre not boring.â No, she had fun with him, they had fun right? If anything he might be the only one here who really indulged her stupidity and banter. There were moments where it was fun to try and wind him up, and she wouldnât have been lying if she said that she would miss him when this was all over.Â
Cloud was, kinda of, what sheâd imagined having a brother would be like. At least the impression of one she had gathered from stories and books. Really it was in that moment she realised sheâd never really told him that all of that mattered. âI mean who gives a shit about a favourite colour. I know people whose favourite colour changes based on the season or their mood.â It was inconsequential really. âEveryone's personality is a little bit of a lie.â Ah, a confession. âAnd a little bit of the truth to go along with it.â Yuffie couldnât help but think she was the worst person to be talking to about this, but she wasnât going to say it and punish him for saying something truthful and open for once.Â
âI think all that really matters is that the people who matter know they matterâŠâÂ

"Cause Zack can barely use his PHS as is." There's zero hesitation as Kunsel lets the snark roll off him, the accusatory question one he'd preemptively expected⊠and had his own counterpart of asking 'why me' when Zack asked him to help out⊠but like he'd ever have it in him to deny his friend a favor. "And it wasn't from lack of trying on my part, he's just more of a slash-and-dash than technology kinda guy. He got the basics, at least."
Kunsel tries to offer an easy going smile - really the only thing visible of his face - but even that is met with attitude not unlike that of a brick wall, but at least he could argue he was trying, kind of. Still, Cloud doesn't immediately turn 180 degrees and walk off, so that's something⊠and it also means he has to commit and actually help the kid out.
Sliding into his seat next to Cloud, as sitting across wouldn't help in the teaching department, Kunsel reaches across the table and starts fiddling with Cloud's phone. Huh, unlocked. "Well, we're definitely putting a lock screen on this, for starters. Don't want random people going through your phone if they find it, do ya?" Says the random person going through his phone. "Just think of four numbers, and make sure it's something you can actually remember. Had to reset Zack's PHS like twice."
With that, he hands the phone back to Cloud in the settings app, asking him to input a code.

Zzzzzz. Electro-mag rod hissed on and off. On and off. Boredom and irritation at an all time high, and there was no off to it in sight. Reno had been wrong however. Squeaking metal giving way to the image of spiky blonde hair and a brooding face tipped things over the edge The electro-mag rod shut off though the scarlet haired Turk wished nothing more than to stab the other man with it until he cried like a little puppy. It wasnât really like Reno hated the lapdog, but the fire spit from Cloudâs mouth urged the forming of his own. Maybe it was hate to want to punch someone in the face when they talked too much or too little. Maybe it was HATE to test the powers of electrocution on Rufusâ plaything. There it was again, Cloud not saying anything despite intruding on the redheadâs space during his break time. Gemstone eyes burned against gemstone eyes. The silence cut when the other man spoke, and Reno followed it with a distasteful click of tongue against teeth.
(  â It IS when it comes to things I care about . . people I care about. My job.  â  )
Rufus, Elena, Rude, Tseng. Out of the group, Rude was his true partner and genuine friend, but he cared about the Turks and his boss. He would prefer to die before them or die with them in the line of battle. Cloud, on the other hand, could have rotted in the slums. Who didnât fail to notice the love-sick admiration the twerp threw at Rufus. Apparently it was missed by some people, and the Turk was truly a man of the people â it was water cooler talk, so to speak, started with his movement of the tongue. He kept Rufusâ name out of it, of course. Reno was no fool despite what others thought.
(  â What, donât like having your name on the tip of peopleâs tongues ? â  )Â
â discretion isnât your thing, is it? â  @cloudviiââ                                     (  is this a love confession, cloud ?? )Â

@cloudvii sent: [ STRUGGLE ] with receiverâs muse struggling against senderâs muse, senderâs muse hurts them to put them back in their place
|| ||Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Given apt space to perform, Kuja was a terrifying force. His magic was a symphony, wielded it with the finesse of a seasoned conductor, bending and swaying the lives of those around him to his design.
...Yet, when cornered, that elegant, composed facade crumbled, replaced by something feral and predatory-- a side of himself he loathed to reveal, as honesty was never his preferred guise. But necessity dictated his actions, especially when he recognised violent tenacity in another's spirit... Recognised the sensation of cold steel slicing into his waist on an inhale, is flesh splitting unwillingly, reluctantly embracing the blade pressed against him.
An absurd blade it was, too; Little more than a cumbersome slab of metal crudely joined to a laughably thin hilt. The young wielder's ability to maneuver such a weighty instrument with precision was near commendable. Kuja might have been impressed... had the humiliation of being assaulted, trapped, and injured not overshadowed his admiration.
And Kuja was not one for honesty.
The snarl distorting his pretty face softened into a calculated smile. He reached up, seizing the blonde assailant by the collar, magic crackling from his fingertips and halfway up his arm. "Saucy little thing..." Manicured fingers flexed in the tightly woven fabric, burgeoning magic sparking as it contacted skin and then faded. "Withdraw, and I shall graciously grant my forgiveness." Even his blood, sluicing down the blade, shimmered with magical potency. "I promise, this will be less than pleasant should you choose otherwise."

Aerith is used to Cloud not talking a lot, but today, it seems even worst than usual. Even when she teases him, he doesn't even react, he doesn't even roll her eyes. And even if she still doesn't know that much from him, she wants to be there for him. He helped her and got her out of Hojo's lab, which is more than enough for the Cetra to consider him a friend. He has been walking at a distance from the rest of the group, but Aerith accelerates and reaches him.
"You're really lost in your thoughts today," she says before she pats his arm. Maybe an actual contact would bring him back to reality. "You sure you okay, Cloud ? You don't talk at all. Which is even worst than usual!" Well, she really can't help herself and still needs to tease him, even when she worries.

"I was afraid to leave you on your own." // Elena @ Tseng
Tseng stared for a moment before reaching out to take Elena's hand, giving it a small squeeze. It was probably the first time he'd done so without his gloves on at all. Since returning from the temple, he'd been whisked away without a word to anyone. Part of him had expected the others to return to their work, and wait for him to call for them. He really hadn't expected Elena to be at his bedside when he woke up.
"The medical team knows what they're doing Elena." He said gently. But, he knew what she meant. He had been alone, in the temple, and in such a short time had been seriously injured. "Besides. I can't leave my partner alone out in the field, can I?"

@cloudvii asked: if it werenât for you , we wouldnât be in this mess . // maybe confronting yuffie on the failed roofus assassination?
âMe?â She pointed to herself, something in her veins ran cold. A flash of anger across her face as Yuffie genuinely felt this pang of horror through her body.Â
Not at being accused of attempting as assassination. No. That was her job. That was what she had been trained for. Raised for. Strike the enemy, strike them hard, leave no prisoners. It was win or win. No option.Â
âIt wasnât me who missed!â It came out louder than she expected, a sharp edge, no, if Barret hadnât gotten in the way then they wouldnât be in this position, yet, she thought herself above throwing the other party member under the bus. At least by name.Â
âHeâs a bad man!â Such a simple and childish view of war and international relations but, that was what propaganda did. That was a lifetime of being told that the people who lived across the ocean were coming to take everything you knew away from you, your home and your culture.Â
Not to mention Sonon, all those innocent people in Midgar.Â
If anything, Yuffie regretted nothing.Â
âHow many more people are they going to kill?â Her question is almost sarcastic as she points a finger at the blonde, âall the towns and villages they rolled over, those poor people in Midgar, I was there!â Well, tha might have been information she hadnât meant to divulge but it slipped out. Rage was far more of a powerful force for getting her to talk than kindness it seemed. âI saw what they did! I watched it!â Watched it and couldnât do a damn thing about it.
âA shuriken to the head was a mercy in comparison!â
