hello can i order cloud strife x femreader (established relationship) who has a scar that goes from one cheek to the other and is insecure about it?
during that part where cloud, tifa and aerith are in the train cemetery and they grab cloud's arms the reader arrives just in time and sees this and gets very insecure because she thinks they are prettier than her (english is not my first language, sorry T-T)
| Cloud With An Insecure Reader |
[ Cloud Strife x Fem! Reader ]
TW & CW + Tags: None. Cloud might be a bit OOC. Comfort/fluff. [Established relationship. Fem! Reader]
Summary: Some quick headcanons on Cloud having an S/O who has a scar insecurity.
[(A/N): Hey! Sorry for taking so long for this request. I frankly was having a tad bit of trouble writing it. I'm not super proud of these to be honest, but hey, better to try than not do it at all! Hope you enjoy and that it somewhat was what you were looking for.]
Let's get this straight; Cloud adores you. Scars or not. You're gorgeous, and nothing will change that in slightest.
He will not ask about it to respect your privacy, but he cannot deny but continue to be curious.
Again, you never have to tell him if it's too much to talk about. He understands, and is willing to let it stay that way.
However, if you do feel comfortable and tell him how you got it, he'd listen intently. He knows that sharing this can require a lot of courage and might be painful to talk about.
Even once he knows the full story behind it, he loves you just the same.
In private, he loves planting sweet kisses to your scarred cheeks.
Cloud may not always be the best at expressing his feelings with words, but he'll make sure of it to show it through his actions.
So when you're at the train cemetery and he immediately notices your demeanor change when Aerith and Tifa grabbed his arms, he comes up to you wanting to communicate with you about it.
Calmly asking about it and checking in with you to see if you're okay.
When you tell him that you had been feeling insecure when they grabbed his arms and how he probably thinks they're prettier than you.
At first, he's silent for a moment, processing your words. But that quickly changes. His usually stoic face melts away.
Reassures you that he has no feelings for Tifa and Aerith, and your scar doesn't change the way he sees you in the slightest.
It isn't easy for him to show his feelings, but Cloud loves you. And he finds every part of you absolutely breathtaking.
"..It's not often that I feel this way about just anyone, and I'm sorry if I'm not the best with words. But, do you realize what you do to me? You mean everything to me. And I mean that. It doesn't matter to me if you have scars or not, you are beautiful. Inside and out. Never forget that."

sephiroth x cloud strife x fem!reader.
good, cloud..” sephiroth whispered into the shell of his killer’s ear, nuzzling into the blond, unruly locks that tickled his skin. “very good.. her wails for release are most pleasant, aren’t they?”
said male’s hips stuttered like his uneven breathing had at the praise, nearly spilling his load right then and there into your ever-welcoming heat.
gaia, he hated how much of a sucker he was for such, it was humiliatingly weakening, especially when it came from him.. but he couldn’t let go just yet. not with the series of explicit instructions he’d received beforehand.
instructions that echoed in the all-too-familiar velvety voice throughout the confines of his mind. hardly any different from every other time it spoke, had it not been for that sultry undertone this time around.
a timbre that was slowly beginning to get to the self proclaimed ex-SOLDIER. in more ways than one, he feared. "s-shut up!” he spat despite the betraying rouge coloring his freckled skin. “i know what i'm doing. i don’t..” a hitch. “need you to tell me shit.." he breathed out, watching through half-lidded eyes as your head lolled back into the pillow, grabbing fistfuls of cotton while you waited for release, too.
..because sephiroth said not yet.
cloud didn’t know how, nor did he want to know how, but the highly anticipated first time sex he was blindly walking into seemed.. to have invited a rather unexpected visitor to teach him a lesson on pleasure. a phantom guest, as one might say, who just so happened to have the potential to destroy the planet at any given chance.
otherwise, his greatest nemesis.
a nemesis that was now demonstrating on him how to fuck his beloved girlfriend, rather than ending her very life.
and what was your take on your boyfriend quite literally being made into a canvas?
“f-faster, please, cloud!”
well, it's not everyday you lose your virginity to the savior and threat of the planet all at the same time. it felt like a crime to refuse something so delectable.
so who were you to say no? a little risk and tension added that perfect kick to the whole experience. the cherry on top, and you were ready to savor it.
the planet would be fine, surely. gaia and jenova could hold their tongues for an hour or few.
tilting his head, the bringer of calamity offered a small smirk. "do you, now? your beloved seems to have a plea.. she might want to share how close she is..” came his hushed observation, paired with a particularly harsh jerk of hips into his rival’s rear. “how in need she is of finally letting that coil snap within her.." he added fondly, pleased with the choked gasp that entered his ears as his eyes caught your hazy stare. "isn't that right, y/n?"
a soft whimper was all that was able to leave your lips because it was true. besides, what could you say with an orgasm so close, yet so far away, anyway?
aside from cries for mercy, of course.
"'m really close..” you mustered after a few sharp intakes of air, shaking your head weakly. “c-can't hold on for much longer, though." you added quietly, fighting the urge to cave at the sight of those mischief glinted jades. part of you wondered how cloud was able to even resist the owner while being given that kind of look in battle. you’d probably throw in your weapon right then and there while waving that tiny white flag seen in old cartoons.
perhaps cloud was simply just.. used to it.
although, that didn't mean he didn't hesitate from time to time.
"poor thing.." sephiroth acknowledged in a soft coo, trailing a hand down your thigh in a feather-light manner that elicited shivers. even amidst the sweltering heat. "while i did say to hold out, i have reason to believe it will be more fun to take your rightful release from cloud.. he looks to be faltering by the second." he prompted lightly, holding your gaze whilst his lips traveled down the jugular of his rival to the curve of his shoulder. “perhaps you’ll fix that, hm?”
and as if to confirm his statement, the former hero dragged himself out completely before sheathing the blond again to the hilt. once more in that same, abrupt manner that now had a symphony of noises tumbling free of suppression from his lips.
each one more erotic than the last, somehow. so very lewd, as you’d never heard such pitiful sounds spill from your boyfriend's mouth.. but undeniably pleasing to the ears. a mellifluous string of gasps and moans you weren’t even aware he could produce. and sephiroth was pulling them out like it was just another tuesday.
no wonder he had wanted to hear cloud so badly during their fights.
spurred on by sheer fervor and curiosity, you found yourself feeding into the one winged angel’s suggestion, "how exactly would i.. ngh- be able to do t-that..?"
mako tinted emeralds sparked with intrigue. “oh, it’s quite simple, really-”
"s-sephiroth!" cloud cut through another groan, glowering warningly at his foe like an offended kitten. it was more adorable than it was intimidating, as were all the other glares thrown his way. maybe on the battlefield and with more clothes on, it might have been taken more seriously.
here, however?
it only earned him a snort.
the villain in question simply couldn’t be bothered by such, not with that contradicting flush adorning his killer’s cheeks. just who did he think he was fooling when his body evidently betrayed his words?
"hush now, cloud." sephiroth ordered softly, tapping his sunkissed throat with two leather clad fingers. daringly. "your manners are lacking considerably. y/n here has asked me a question, it is rude to interrupt your own significant other.” he reprimanded smartly, giving the lightest squeeze — which was apparently still fatal enough if that was in fact a whine that entered his all-hearing ears.
cute.
but not convincing enough. “you'll just have to wait your turn." the former general finished in his ear, nipping down on the cartilage before shifting his eyes back to your flustered self. "now then, where were we? ah, yes.” he chuckled, patting down on cloud’s thigh. “climb onto your lover’s lap."
“climb onto his..” heat rushed to your cheeks almost instantly at the suggestion.
truthfully, it wasn't like you hadn't done that before, but seeing the pathetic state your boyfriend had been in now.. that quivering, whiny mess. you could only imagine just how far sephiroth was willing to go.
apparently, all the way.
his sapphire hues were practically glimmering with tears already from the simulation he was both giving and receiving. all he needed was to be ridden to come completely undone.
you swallowed unconsciously.
so this was the villain you were told of.
honestly, he was hotter than he was annoying or endangering, or however way cloud had described him.
although tempting, incredibly tempting.
that part of you that wanted to go easy on your partner and stay in the position you were in was practically swallowed up by the malicious glint in the calamity incarnate’s eyes. it pitifully won the favor of your other half with ease, coaxing you into sweet, delectable oblivion.
one that became increasingly difficult to withstand.
shuddering at the tremble in your legs, you pushed yourself up despite the burning sensation in your thighs, letting out a strained exhale at the stretch it caused. “sorry cloud..”
a stuttered noise left the blond's lips as he reclined against his enemy's front, rolling his head back against the plush, yet firm chest behind him. were pectorals meant to feel so cozy? or was it simply his fogged up mind?
regardless, the smirk on sephiroth’s rosewood lips seemed to grow at the nuzzle of gold fluff on his bared skin, and furthermore at your willingness. it was.. amusing, to say the least.
cloud, as it turned, was even more delightful up close. pink dusted skin, furrowed brows, watery eyes — truly a sight.
unable to hold yourself back, you brought your lips together for a chaste kiss, mewling into his mouth at the alarmed buck his lower half gave. it was sudden, without calculation, risky, and divine all at once; enough to remind you of your impending climax. but that, again, could wait.
it had to.
warmth brushed and enveloped your tongue, imploring you to suck down on it, which you eagerly did, peppermint flooding your senses. was toothpaste meant to taste this good?
breaking away, if only to keep yourself from diving right back in with the intent of never breathing again, you were allowed a second of air, and only a second.. before your appendages were claimed by a second pair.
and fuck.. they were as soft as they looked from afar. frigid, yet strangely passionate for the nemesis your lover had described him to be. your mind dared to call it delicate.. until it wasn’t. gentle seconds became half a feverish minute as your eyes fluttered shut, allowing yourself to melt to his flame completely.
icarus flew too close to the sun, well you flew right for the caller of meteor, and clung even as your feathers became ash. uncaring of the way he seared your lips with sin, liquid silver tickling your cheeks like a sheen of mercury.
sadly, your lungs did care.
before any worries of your life quite possibly being stolen and swallowed up by the darkness personified, his lips were torn from yours.. and roughly reclaimed by none other than your boyfriend’s.
it took longer than necessary to register the exchange, with you utterly enraptured by the sight of cloud so.. bothered and lustful, as opposed to his usual composed and indifferent self.
meanwhile sephiroth reciprocated the kiss in full, chuckling at the taste of his own ichor spilled across his bottom lip as his adversary drank like a mortal parched. in return, he gave his tongue a sudden nip, musing at the quiet hiss that allowed him a metallic flavored sample of his own. fair was fair, after all.
in his opinion, anyway.
a knowing look amidst the violent lip lock was your cue to regather yourself, bringing your clammy hands to the curves of the former merc’s shoulders. no going back now.
slowly, your hips lifted just slightly, never missing the twitch against your insides as you lowered them at that same pace with a sigh.
the moan that tore through cloud’s throat was pleasant — encouraging. it beseeched you to repeat your ministrations; faster, sloppier- if only to hear and feel more of your beloved.
sephiroth was no stranger and rolled his own front against the man his life became so intimately intertwined with, devouring every sound that entered his greedy mouth. “such a good boy..” he whispered after detaching from his crimson stained lips, nuzzling into the other’s neck. “taking us so well..”
“f-fuck, haaaahhh~ can’t-!” cloud gasped out, arching pathetically against the toned body behind him. “can’t..!!”
a curious brow lifted. “can’t what, cloud?” the silver haired male hummed out, flitting his eyes to yours. “ask him to reiterate, won’t you, y/n?”
vision blurred, you peered over at your partner through blurry eyes, barely able to hold even yourself together. the words came out somehow anyway, albeit spluttered. “s-say it clearer, cloud — fuck!” you cursed, throwing your head back. “please..!!”
and that was the final straw. as though in slow motion, the ex-SOLDIER gave a finishing thrust before a rush of warmth enveloped his cock, trickling between the mixture of limbs like liquid ivory.
it didn’t stop there, however, as a chorus of pants joined the no longer withdrawn whines of your lover. meanwhile his enemy nailed his prostate with acute precision several more times before meeting his own climax.
sephiroth gave the smile of a feline satisfied with its work. cloud completely undone alongside his lover and the most satisfying of cries to fill his ears? it wasn’t the same as bringing the planet to its knees and under his rule, but the outcome was just as euphoric.
if not more, certainly at the sight of the his seed trickling out of the bruised hole of his dearest adversary. part of him was almost tempted to fuck right it back into him, but the night was young. time was bountiful.
especially for punishment. “mm.. that reply was no good..” the former first commented softly, tilting his head after a contemplative hum before allowing a smile to cross his lips. “but, not to worry.” he chuckled when the blond looked up at him like a deer in headlights, caressing his cheek ever so gently. “y/n and i shall keep going until you get it right, won’t we, y/n?”
willing your eyes to open, you glanced between the pair before falling back against the pillow, staring unblinkingly. “i’m calling in sick tomorrow..”

quite like this.
request: Haii uhm for the ff7 requests ! I don’t know if you have played rebirth but since there are the golden saucer dates, i was maybe thinking you could do a reader x cloud having a date? Maybe the two have feelings for each other but they are completely oblivious that the feeling is mutual, and they both think their feelings aren’t reciprocated. Maybe the others know about this and so they make it as if to leave them alone during their time there, and you know it all goes from there? Obviously if you don’t like the request that’s alright! by: anonymous.
a/n: eeeeeeee second ff7 imagine :))) i planned to write for zack next tbh but i couldn't pass up this request. it's so cute!
tw: obviously spoilers for rebirth! don't read if you haven't gotten to chapter 12 of the game
pairing: cloud strife x f!reader
It was the most colour you’d ever seen in your life.
And everyone looked so happy.
You could barely contain the excitement bursting through your chest, eyes wandering across with the brightest smile plastered across your lips. You’re blissfully unaware of the pair of eyes watching you, lost in your own thoughts as your feet shuffle beneath you, antsy.
But not sure what you’re antsy for. Or what you want to do.
“Me and Aerith are gonna go look at the chocobo racing.”
Blinking, you’re pulled from your thoughts at the sound of Tifa. When you turn to look at her, she’s already looking at you, a warm smile on her lips as she gestures behind her to Aerith.
You glance in the direction of the Chocobo racing and think that it could be fun. You’re overwhelmed with the amount of options at the Gold Saucer and you were happy as long as you were with your friends so you step towards them, lips parting to say you’ll join the two girls but then Aerith is grabbing Tifa’s wrist and the two girls are turning around before you even have the chance.
“We’ll see you later!”
Hand held out in front of you, you frown.
“I’m off too!” Yuffie calls in the next second, already shuffling backwards as she sends you a wink and a slap on Barret’s shoulder.
“Oh, but Yuffie–”
“I’m gonna try to get some rest,” Barret calls out gruffly, nudging Cloud who is standing beside you and sends you a nod. “I’ll be at the hotel.”
You blink, lips curved downwards and move to step towards him but he’s already turned his back to you.
“Me and the laddie are gonna look at the battle arena,” Cait calls out, perched on Red’s back as he tips his head at you. You meet his eyes before drifting down to Red’s who is staring up at you in return. “Red showed some interest, you see!”
“Thought I could take some notes,” Red nods at your questioning look. “We’ll see ya.”
And with a speed only Red seems to manage, the two are off before you can offer to join them.
Once they disappear from your sight, you slump back, a huff leaving your lips as you glance around, suddenly realizing that everyone except for Cloud had left, none of them giving you a single chance to ask if you could join them. Realistically, you’d expected to join Tifa and Aerith, but you would’ve had fun with any of your friends.
Well, you guessed Cloud was still here, but you’d imagined he wouldn’t necessarily want to go sightseeing with you; even if that reality hurt your heart in a way you didn’t want to acknowledge.
Sighing, you turn to look at Cloud only to be surprised when his eyes are already on you.
“Did you have plans to?” Cloud asks, voice soft as he raises a brow in question.
Frowning, you shrug, turning away from Cloud to glance around you. “Not sure. Everyone ran off before I could ask to join them.”
“Well.”
And when Cloud doesn’t say anything else, you turn to him in curiosity, wondering if something was wrong, only to be surprised when you see he’d taken a step forward and his arm was held out towards you for you to grab. You blink, once, twice, eyes flickering from his outstretched arm back to his eyes that continue to stare at you in question, silently inviting you in a way you never would’ve expected.
“You want to?” You ask softly in return, feeling your cheeks warm as you lower your gaze, suddenly feeling a whole lot more bashful than you had seconds before. It was one thing to constantly feel Cloud’s presence beside you, a dominating aura that never left you in the way you loved.
He was always near, and it was hard to sometimes pull your gaze away. And the two of you had talked before, you felt that you actually got along well with the boy in the scheme of things given that the truth was he wasn’t all that chatty. But you’d never been alone with you. Not like this. And not in a place like this either.
A quick glance around you told you that you weren’t crazy for assuming this place felt more intimate. There were couples everywhere, holding hands, smiling at each other, kissing, in their own worlds with all the lights and chatter and the warmth of each other.
Being in a place like this, alone, with Cloud made your heart race in a way that made it hard to focus and the worst part was that he probably didn’t even realize it.
“If you want,” he answers gently, nodding, arm still held out towards you. “You looked disappointed that everyone else ran off. But… you don’t have to hang with me if you don’t–”
Feeling guilty you’d made him think you didn’t want to hang with him, and knowing that was quite literally the far opposite of the truth, you hastily shake your head, cutting off his words. You step forward, ignoring the lurch of your heart as you wrap your arm around his own, your hand falling against his bicep. You try to ignore how strong and toned his arm feels beneath your skin, and how instantly you feel a lot hotter than you had seconds ago, keeping your gaze strictly ahead of yourself.
You pray Cloud can’t feel how fast your heart is beating.
Cloud shuffles on his feet for a moment before he glances down at you; “where do you wanna go?”
-
You ended up wandering for a good while.
Nothing particularly caught either of your eyes but you didn’t mind. If you were being truthful, it was enough to just be able to spend this time with Cloud, alone.
Even if it didn’t feel the same to him, which you’re sure it didn’t. Even if this was just a courtesy he’d done for you because he’d seen how sad and pathetic you’d looked after everyone else had run off from you. It didn’t matter. Not at that moment. It was just enough for you then that you got to be with him, close to him like this.
“Do you wanna go on?”
It takes you a second to realize Cloud is speaking but you feel him shift and watch as he points before the both of you, your eyes following the point of his finger only to fall on the Skywheel.
“Oh,” you mumble, feeling your cheeks grow warm. “Don’t we need tickets for that?”
You glance around, trying to find the ticket booth, secretly hoping there were even tickets left before Cloud speaks up again.
“No worries,” he calls and your eyes fall on him as he holds two tickets before you. At your wide expression, he lets out a tiny smile. “Tifa handed these to me before her and Aerith ran off.”
Your eyes widen and suddenly it clicks.
Clearly, Tifa and Aerith hadn’t purposely left you like you’d worried. This had all been a plan from the beginning! A plan because you’d told them of your feelings for Cloud when the two had cornered you for the truth. Tifa was hard enough to dodge on her own like you’d grown to learn over the past few years but with the added addition of Aerith, the two were like an unstoppable force and your confession had practically been pulled out of you.
Your chest tightens with worry.
Poor Cloud. Being wrapped up in those twos’ schemes… You’d hoped he maybe did want to hang with you after all, but it was probably more likely that Aerith and Tifa had forced him to take you on the date and had left him no choice when they’d run off.
Which meant the others were probably in on it too…
Oh, you were so going to kill them.
“I’m so sorry,” you find yourself saying before you can stop yourself. Your hand falls to your forehead, pulling away from Cloud’s arm and you miss the way he frowns at the loss of your touch. Brushing back your hair, you meet his eyes. “Tifa and Aerith forced you to spend time with me tonight, didn’t they? That’s why they gave you the tickets… I’m sorry, Cloud. I know you probably would’ve preferred to do your own–”
You're cut off but his hand on your arm, holding tightly enough to pull your attention on him. He’s stepped towards you, closed the distance between the both of you, close enough that his chest presses against your own. Your eyes widen when you realize how close he actually is, feeling your breath get caught in the back of your throat as you stare back at him with parted lips.
“No,” he calls out, the words rushed. “I wanted to spend time with you! I mean, yes… Tifa and Aerith gave me the tickets but they didn’t force me to. I was actually trying to find the way to ask you but I didn’t know how and they saw that so they… Well, um, helped, I guess.”
Cloud desperately avoids your gaze, cheeks warm in a way you’ve never quite seen before and he actually seems genuinely embarrassed as the both of you stand there for a moment longer. His words are still processing in your mind, lips left parted as you feel your heart start to race all over again and the warmth floods you tenfold as his words finally click.
Cloud… Cloud wanted to spend time with you.
“Oh,” you finally manage, glancing at your feet. “Well… me too. I-I mean, I, um, wanted to spend time with you too…”
Cloud’s lips part, and then the two of you are staring at each other.
“Last call for the Skywheel!”
Both of your eyes snap to the attendant standing at the ferris wheel, and with one final look at each other, you both step forward. Cloud hands the ticket to him and then a cart pulls up a second later. You step in first, sitting down and Cloud follows a moment later, and when you expect him to take the seat opposite of you, he instead chooses to sit next to you.
The door to the cart shuts and the attendant wishes you well before you feel yourself moving, slowly going higher and higher. Hands resting at your sides, you try to ignore the nerves bubbling through you, letting your eyes drift across the fireworks dancing across the sky, taking in all the colours.
Then, at first faintly, you feel Cloud’s left hand ghost across your right one. You feel yourself freeze, but you hesitate glancing at him, letting your fingers shift slightly in return, inviting him, and a second later he obliges when you feel his fingers thread through your own. You flip your palm, letting him press his own against yours and smile when you feel him squeeze.
Finally, you let your eyes fall on him and he’s already looking at you, expression soft, not guarded in the way it usually is, and you smile, just faintly, swallowing your nerves.
“Cloud,” you find yourself whispering.
He’s leaning forward, inch by inch, hand never leaving your own. “You’re… beautiful,” he whispers in return to his name and you blink, that flutter returning.
That was the last thing you expected Cloud to say. You never knew he could be so… romantic when he wanted to. But you can tell he means the words, his sincerity floods his tone and it makes your heart burst with the warmth of the feelings you’ve desperately tried to ignore.
His lips are a breath away and all it takes is one more hesitant glance at his eyes before you close the gap and press your lips against his. Cloud doesn’t hesitate to respond, the hand holding your own holding tight as his eyes flutter shut and his free hand falls to your waist, pulling you closer.
You lean into his touch with ease, feeling his warmth envelope you in a way it never quite has before.
And then, as he leans back, and you both pull away, his forehead rests against your own, and you breathe in his scent and his presence, relishing in the way it feels to have him so close.
“I like you,” you whisper in the silence, eyes still shut. “I… really like you.”
Clouds hand twitches against your side and he nudges you with his nose. “Me too,” he mumbles, “if that wasn’t obvious.”
You let out a laugh, letting your eyes flicker open as you pull back, hands still intertwined and shoulders still touching but enough that you can see his face properly. He’s smiling, just faintly, in a very Cloud way but it still touches your heart to see you’d been able to make him smile, and the lights of the fireworks dance across his pale skin and butterflies flutter through your stomach.
It’s exactly and nothing like how you’d dreamed this moment would be.
And you love every second of it because no one has ever quite looked at you the way he does in that moment.

guys i love this gay twink whom is blonde and doesnt talk TW/CW : none,, cloud x f!reader,, fluff
"Oh, I'm so sorry!" you exclaimed, nearly tripping over your own feet as you collided with a broad-shouldered figure. The basket of freshly picked flowers you were carrying slipped from your hands, scattering vibrant petals across the cobblestone street. The colors mixed with the dust kicked up by the busy townsfolk, creating an unexpected, chaotic canvas on the ground.
You looked up, your face flushed with embarrassment, and found yourself staring into a pair of piercing blue eyes. They were framed by a mess of spiky blonde hair that you recognized immediately.
It was Cloud Strife, the legendary hero who had saved the world from Sephiroth’s terror. Despite his heroism, Cloud was a man who kept to himself, often seen wandering alone or lingering at Tifa's bar. To run into him—literally—was both shocking and somewhat intimidating.
Cloud took a step back, raising a hand as if to shield himself from the explosion of blooms at his feet. For a moment, his expression was unreadable, the kind of serious, brooding look you expected from someone like him. Then, to your surprise, his lips quirked into the faintest smile.
"It's okay," he said in a voice much softer than you imagined. "I've seen worse."
Relief flooded through you. His easygoing response made your awkwardness seem less like a disaster and more like a moment of clumsiness that could be forgiven. You quickly bent down to gather the scattered flowers, your hands shaking slightly.
"I guess I’m just a walking disaster," you muttered, more to yourself than to him, as you reached for the brightly colored petals littering the ground.
To your astonishment, Cloud crouched down to help, his gloved hands moving with a surprising grace as he picked up the flowers one by one. You glanced up to find his eyes crinkled with amusement, the tension in his face softened.
"Well, you certainly know how to make an entrance," he said, the light teasing in his tone sending your heart fluttering.
Cloud Strife just made a joke? You could hardly believe it. All the stories you'd heard about him painted him as a stoic, no-nonsense figure, someone who carried the weight of the world on his shoulders. Yet, here he was, making you smile, making you feel less like an idiot and more like someone who had just stumbled into a rather unexpected moment of warmth.
You finished gathering the flowers and stood up, brushing off your dress, cheeks still warm with embarrassment. "Thank you," you said, more sincerely than before. "I don’t know what I’d do without these for my sister’s birthday."
Cloud stood up as well, his eyes lingering on the flowers in your basket. "They’re beautiful," he said, his voice almost distant, as if a memory had crossed his mind. "They remind me of the ones Aerith used to grow."
The mention of Aerith brought a sudden silence between the two of you. You knew of her, of course. Everyone did. Her story was part of the legend, the woman who had sacrificed herself to save the planet. The loss of Aerith was one of the great tragedies of Cloud’s journey, and you couldn’t imagine how much it still affected him.
"I’m sorry," you said softly, sensing the shift in his mood. "It must be hard to see them and not think of her."
Cloud’s faint smile faded, but he didn’t look away. Instead, he took a deep breath, his expression one of quiet resolve. "Life goes on," he said after a moment, his gaze meeting yours with surprising intensity. "I’m just trying to find my place in it."
You nodded, feeling an unexpected wave of empathy for the man in front of you. There was so much more to him than the stories let on. He wasn’t just the brooding warrior who had saved the world—he was someone still healing, still searching for meaning in a life that had changed beyond recognition.
Your curiosity got the better of you. "What brings you to the market today?" you asked, hoping to keep the conversation going.
Cloud shrugged, his gaze drifting to the nearby stalls. "Just running some errands for Tifa," he said, his voice returning to its usual calm tone. "Nothing too exciting."
You hesitated for a moment, then decided to share a bit of your own struggles. "I’ve been searching for the perfect birthday present for hours," you confessed, offering him a small smile. "But I’m starting to think I might never find it."
Cloud glanced at you, his expression thoughtful. "I might know a place," he said simply. "Follow me."
Without waiting for your reply, Cloud turned and began weaving through the crowded marketplace with effortless ease. You blinked, surprised by the suddenness of his offer, but quickly hurried after him, clutching your basket tightly.
The market was alive with the usual chaos—vendors shouting their prices, children running between the stalls, and the mingling scents of freshly baked bread, herbs, and roasted meats filling the air. Despite the confusion, Cloud moved confidently through the throng of people, his presence commanding just enough space that no one dared get in his way.
Finally, he stopped in front of a small, unassuming stall tucked away at the edge of the market. The woman behind the counter looked up as Cloud approached, her weathered face breaking into a warm smile.
"Ah, Cloud," she greeted with familiarity. "It’s been a while."
Cloud nodded. "Mrs. Krovsky," he said, motioning toward you. "She’s looking for a special birthday gift. Thought you might have something."
Mrs. Krovsky turned her kind eyes toward you, her gaze sharp yet friendly. "Well now," she mused, tapping her chin as she looked you over. "Tell me, what are you looking for exactly?"
"My sister loves anything unique," you explained, a little nervous under her scrutiny. "I want to make this birthday one to remember."
Mrs. Krovsky nodded, her expression thoughtful as she began rummaging through the various trinkets and baubles on her stall. After a moment, she pulled out a delicate necklace, its chain a twisted braid of silver, with a single, glowing crystal at its center.
"This," she said, holding it up to the light, "was crafted by a local blacksmith. The crystal is said to hold the power of the planet’s lifeforce. It’s a symbol of protection and love."
Your breath caught in your throat as you gazed at the necklace, its beauty almost otherworldly. "It’s perfect," you whispered, excitement bubbling up inside you. "How much?"
Mrs. Krovsky named a price that was more than reasonable, and you eagerly handed over the gil. As she wrapped the necklace in a soft cloth, she smiled warmly at you. "A gift like this," she said, "isn’t just a present for your sister. It’s a symbol of the bond you share."
You thanked her profusely, and as you turned to Cloud, you couldn’t help but smile. "Thank you for your help," you said, your gratitude genuine. "I never would have found this without you."
Cloud shrugged again, though his smile was less guarded now. "It’s nothing," he said, his voice soft. "I’m just happy I could help."
As you turned to leave, Mrs. Krovsky called after you. "Remember, dear," she said kindly, "sometimes the most important gifts are the ones we give ourselves."
Her words lingered in your mind as you walked away, feeling a sense of warmth that had nothing to do with the sunlight. You had always been so focused on making others happy that you often forgot to take care of yourself. Maybe this encounter was a reminder that it was time to change that.
You glanced back at Cloud, who was already walking away to continue his errands. For a moment, you wondered if you should invite him to your sister’s birthday celebration. It seemed crazy—he was Cloud Strife, after all, the legendary hero. But something about the way he had helped you made you feel like he wasn’t as unreachable as you had once thought.
With a renewed sense of determination, you decided you would find a way to invite him. After all, what harm could it do?

The Diamond of Zaun- Chapter Two
Pairings: Vi x Reader kiiiiinda Silco x Reader could be more later...
Tags: f!reader, performer!reader
Content Warnings: angst, kiiiiiiinda age gap! relationship
a/n: Chapter two everyone! this one actually gets into the plot so im really excited to see what y'all think. Also I'm making it to where Vi and reader are both 17 pre time skip, so around 24/25 after the time skip.
Also Also I've been binging some playthroughs of Final Fantasy VII and I'm absolutely smitten with Cloud Strife so don't be surprised if some drabbles of him come through teehee.
Chapter One
“I finally got a letter back”
Vi’s head instantly turned to you from the couch she was lazing on,
“What does it say?”
You held up the sealed envelope so Vi could see it. She quickly vaulted over the back of the couch to meet you where you stood at the entrance of the gang’s little clubhouse. She waits for you to open it, glancing back and forth between the letter and you, biting your nails in anticipation. “Oooh I can’t open it, I’m too nervous.” You extend the envelope to Vi, flashing a smile, “Can you do the honors?” Vi raises an eyebrow at you and tuts, but regardless, she takes the envelope. She messily tears it open, although careful to not damage the contents of the letter inside. She clears her throat and reads in a pretentious accent,
“Dear Miss Y/n L/n,
With great pleasure, we are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into the Piltover Institute of Dance and Performing Arts-”
Vi wasn’t able to finish reading the letter before you grabbed her hands, jumping up and down squealing with excitement. You hop up on the boxing machine platform that has doubled as your mock stage over the years for your ‘grand performances.’ Mostly only for Vi. “I can see it now!” You spin on the stage, holding an air microphone, “Everyone will know my name…I’ll even have it in lights!!” You turn and smile down at Vi. You can feel your cheeks heat up as she looks up, smiling warmly at you. You nervously put down your hands and breathe out a small sigh of relief as she looks back down at the letter. Your excitement swiftly fades to confusion as Vi’s eyebrows furrow, and she continues reading,
“...and we eagerly await your presence on campus in Piltover one week from now… “ she looks up at you, the corners of her lips becoming down-turned, “You’re leaving us in one week?” You step down from the stage to stand in front of Vi once again. You don’t meet her eyes, looking towards the floor,
“Well, classes would begin in one week so…” A moment of silence passes, both of you contemplating the limited amount of time you’ll now have together. You finally gather up the courage to look up at Vi and slip both of your hands into hers. She gazes back into your eyes, despite her tough exterior, you can sense the sadness in her expression. “I promise I’ll come back to you every weekend!” you convince, trying to coax a smile out of her face despite the melancholy moment. You pull her towards the make-shift stage, backing up until you can step up onto the platform. Your thumbs rub circles on her hands as you muster up your award winning smile,
“You know that you’ll always be my favorite person to perform for.”
Current Time
It’s almost as if time had stopped, the way you stood frozen in the hallway outside of your dressing room. Your hand would have shaken if not for its stabling hold on the door. You could hear the blood pumping in your ears as your vision became foggy, the image of Vi fading from the sight of her in front of you, to the way you saw her seven years ago, bloodied and…
“Hey Dia, everything alright?” the sound of one of the club’s bouncers jumpstart your brain back into motion. You look towards him then follow his eyes back to Vi and also another tall girl with blue hair that you don't quite recognize, standing behind her. “Is there a problem?” You’re about to open your mouth when Vi hoists herself up from the couch, and strides up to you, placing her hand on your shoulder as she passes. You can only watch, mouth agape, as she turns to the bouncer, grinning at him “No, no problem here, we were just heading out.” She takes ahold of your hand and slips somthing in it, nodding to the bouncer and continuing down the hallway. The blue-haired girl follows close behind, skittishly looking between you and the bouncer before jogging to catch up with Vi. Who is that girl?
Once your brain catches up with the events that just transpired, you move to catch up with them, her name fighting to be freed from your throat, but the bouncer grabs your arm, “Yes?” you hurriedly ask him, you keep your eyes locked on Vi, desperate to catch up with the mystery that is currently walking away from you, carrying all your answers with it.
“Boss left something for ya in your office.”
That catches your attention, and you turn to the bouncer, “the Boss did?” “Yep, came and dropped it off himself.” Thoughts fly through your brain once again but you quickly filter through them, the time-sensitive ones flying to the top. You glance back toward the hallway and once you see it’s empty, you rush toward the door and glance out into the bar. Your eyes squeeze shut in frustration once you realize that Vi is already long gone. You turn, retreating to the back hallway, letting your head fall, but your gaze reminds you of a folded piece of paper in your hand. You quickly return back to your dressing room and open it up. You chuckle at the chicken scratch handwriting thats virtually unintelligible, that is, to almost anyone but you.
Meet me in an hour. You know the place.
Shivers ran down your spine. As time went by, ghosts from your past always seemed to go away, either fading into something else or being gone permanently.
This was not a ghost you’d ever thought you’d see again
After boring holes through the folded, crumpled paper with your stare, you set the note down to get ready. But once you glance up, you're reminded of the ‘something’ that was left in your room.
Not noticing the grand bouquet of fresh flowers sitting square in front of you on the dressing table goes to show the level of distraction that you are currently dealing with. You sit up in your chair, breathing in the scent of fresh tulips. You cup one of the buds in your hands as you glimpse the corner of a card peeking out from the center. You pull it out and have no trouble reading the excellent penmanship,
My Diamond,
I’m so terribly sorry I had to miss your show, but I have no doubt you were as dazzling as usual, please do take these as an apology
-S
Compliments and other such flattery have long since grown weak on you, having heard everything in the book, but you pretend to not feel a slight heat on your cheeks as you place the note back into the bouquet. Instead, you pluck one flower out of the bundle and arrange it into your hair, pulling it up and back away from your face. You quickly change out of your performance outfit and into something you can wear through the streets of the underground. You slip out into the night, heading exactly where you know you’ll meet the pink-haired ghost of your past.
~
You make sure to listen intently to your surroundings as you traverse your way to the old clubhouse. It being abandoned and such, you never know who could be slinking around, especially with Shimmer affecting the citizens the way it does, causing them to find solace in the shadows. You wish you could retreat in such shadows, but the light always seems to find you.
You reach the broken glass window and navigate through, without marking yourself on the shards. Scars wouldn’t be good. No one likes a damaged product. The glass crunches under your boot as you wander through a place you once practically lived in. Your hand brushes against the boxing machine that holds so many memories. You looked up at the leaderboard. If the power was on it would show Vi holding the top places, and many more after that. Without your knowledge, a smile began to tug at your lips as wetness started to well up in your eyes. Your hands blindly start to grasp to find the switch.
“Don’t bother, they won’t work.” You didn’t need to turn your head to know who was speaking from behind you. Nonetheless, you whirled around, once again glimpsing Vi and an unidentified blue-haired girl. You had questions about her, but those could wait.
“Vi, I-” “Where's my sister?” you two spoke at the same time. “...your sister?” you spoke after a moment of silence. Vi began to stride towards you, her voice becoming more intense and frantic.
“Yes, where's Powder, I need to find her now-”
“Vi where have you been?” Vi stops in her tracks, only a few feet from you as you cut her off. You can feel your throat start to close up as tears start to well in your eyes. You will not let them fall. Your eyebrows furrow in anguish and frustration, why did she leave you?
“I thought you were dead and - and now you just reappear like nothing happened?” You glance down at the shards splintered on the cement floors down below, trying to blink away the wetness in your eyes. “...not even ask how I've been?”
There's a moment of silence between you, but you refuse to look up into her eyes. You’re scared of anything you might see on her face, sadness, anger, but most of all,
Indifference
You could have never imagined the sinking in your stomach when what you were afraid to see is instead delivered to your ears,
“I don’t have time for this-I don't even know why I bothered…you’re too busy galavanting on stage, prancing around for everyone- for Silco.” She spat the words at you like it was poisen in her mouth. You finally look up at her in time to see her turning her back, “...You don’t care about us anymore.” She begins to take a step away but she stops at the sound of your voice,
“You have no idea what I care about!” Your chest tightens and the tears run freely down your cheeks. Images of the seven years you were apart, the seven years you had to do what you could to survive, images of the Garden. Your head buzzes with anger and anguish, and you release it all out onto Vi. You aren’t aware of what you’ll say next, the feelings that have been built up over the last seven years cause words to stream right from your heart to your tongue.
“You have no idea what I have done to protect those I care about...including you.”
You don’t even take a minute to catch your breath before taking long strides towards the broken glass in which you entered. But instead of moving out of the way of Vi you aggressively bump into her shoulder, leaving her stumbling as you continue to the exit. You kick in the glass at your feet, trampling smoothly through the gaping hole. The cool air from outside in the alley blows through your clothes as if they weren’t even there, swiftly calming your hot head and bringing you back to reality. You take a deep breath and turn your head, just enough to be perfectly silhouetted by the neon lights blazing on from outside the valley.
“And by the way, it’s not Powder. Your sister’s name is Jinx.”

Oh my gosh! 🥰 For drabble requests, would you be interested in doing ❛ you were fighting to survive. i was fighting to win. ❜ for Cloud? ❤️ I shrieked a little when I saw him there
A/N: Thank you so much for requesting for Cloud! I was super excited to write for him, and hope you enjoy!
Wolves
Cloud Strife x F! Reader
Summary: You're a fighter in Don Corneo's Colosseum, and one day come across someone unexpected.
Warnings/Tags: Childhood friends; Reader is not having the easiest time in Midgar; Featuring a headcanon of Nibelheim having their own language, Nibel, and the use of Swedish as Nibel.
Prompt: "You were fighting to survive. I was fighting to win."
You idly shifted your scythe from hand to hand as you listened to the roar of the Colosseum’s crowd. Scotch and Kotch must have started their usual spiel. Another day, another fight. One that you’d hopefully win so you would be able to buy some more food on the way home.
When you’d left Nibelheim, this hadn’t been the plan. You’d just wanted to get out of there and make something of yourself, something more than what you could do in your small reactor town. Midgar seemed like the best option at the time, but you hadn’t given too much thought to what you’d do once you got there.
Among other jobs, you’d worked as a waitress, a courier, and a dancer at the Honeybee Inn before seeing the flyer for Don Corneo’s Colosseum. “Fighters Wanted,” it proclaimed, “Participate in the fight of your life!”
Andrea took care of you and the rest of the dancers, but it wasn’t what you wanted out of life. If you were going to be in Wall Market, then you wanted to use some of the skills you’d learned from Zangan and from hunting Nibel Wolves. You had never taken down a dragon, but you were proud to say that you wielded your family’s scythe well enough to keep them fed through the harsh Nibel winters.
Decision made, you became a fighter in Don Corneo’s Colosseum with the nights of the Corneo Cup becoming your favorites. There was something exhilarating about them. It wasn’t an easy life and it wasn’t quite what you’d imagined when leaving Nibelheim, but it was yours and you were proud of how you’d performed in the tournaments as well as the money you’d made for yourself. You were surviving and in a place like Wall Market, how could you ask for more than that?
The preliminaries tonight had been easy, a little too easy. You hadn’t even worked up a sweat yet, even after beating who you liked to call “The Three B’s” in the first round. Beck, Burke, and Butch were not the sharpest, but you’d never liked how they made a living so it’d been a pleasure to beat them. Meanwhile, the Beastmaster had gone out a couple of matches ago to face some newcomers whose names you hadn’t been able to catch, and he’d lost for the first time since you’d known him.
It couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy. The way he treated his beasts had always made you feel sick.
You stretched your neck, shifting from side to side, and downed a potion as you heard Scotch and Kotch introduce the “lucky young couple, who were taking the arena by storm.” You again missed what their names were, but it didn’t matter; you’d have to beat them either way if you wanted a chance to at least face the Hell House.
Then, it was time for your introduction. “Their opponent - huntress of Nibelheim, the wielder of an ancient scythe that’s stained red with the blood of her enemies! Coming to us from the Honeybee Inn, but don’t let that fool you folks. She’s undefeated! The one, the only - Wolf Slayer!”
You shook your head behind the door. Scotch and Kotch had been trying different names for you since you first started fighting in the Colosseum, and it seemed like this one might finally stick despite any protests you might have made to the contrary. The doors opened and smoke filled the air as you strode into the arena, scythe over your shoulder. You looked up, making eye contact with Andi, shooting him a small smile, and receiving a curve of his lips in return before baring your teeth at the rest of the crowd knowing that it would make them cheer. That done, you looked at your opponents and had to stop yourself from freezing.
Cloud. Cloud was here. Your Cloud. What was he doing here?
You glanced at his supposed girlfriend, trying not to be jealous. You’d already had to deal with Cloud’s crush on Tifa in Nibelheim when all you’d wanted was for him to notice you, so it was hard not to glare at someone who had his attention.
Cloud’s blue eyes met yours and they were much brighter than you remembered. SOLDIER eyes. So he had made it. It was nice to know that he’d fulfilled his dream.
The crowd grew quiet and a little restless as you two stood there staring at each other, which led to Scotch interjecting. “So are you going to fight or what?”
Cloud spoke, “We’ll fight. Just give us a second. Pretty please.” His tone was deadpan and sarcastic, and so him. You’d missed him so much.
You knew that no one would wait for long, so you readied your scythe causing Cloud to pull his sword from his back and his companion to grasp her staff.
“Do you know her, Cloud?” The woman was looking at you, her green eyes intent.
You waited to see what he’d say, curious in spite of yourself.
“Yeah, I know her.” He looked at you for a moment, gaze intent on your face as though memorizing any changes in your features. When he spoke again, it was directed at you. “Wolf Slayer, huh?”
“I didn’t get to pick it. Now, as much as I’ve missed you, are we going to fight or not? Everyone’s waiting.”
“Like I give a shit.”
You couldn’t help the laugh you let out at that, which caused Cloud to give you one of his infinitesimal smiles. Without thinking of your Colosseum image of the “stoic huntress”, you smiled back at him.
The crowd started to boo and Scotch and Kotch seemed like they’d had enough. “It looks like we have a little love triangle going on here, folks. Cloud and our Wolf Slayer seem to be acquainted.” The crowd let out an “Ooh” at that. “This is going to be an interesting one.”
With that, you got into a fighting stance with your scythe in one hand and your other clasped into a fist. You already knew that you wouldn’t be undefeated after this. Cloud was a SOLDIER and his partner looked to be some kind of healer, so all you could do was give it your all, put on a show, and hope that you could talk to Cloud afterwards.
You drank a potion and sat on the blue bench in the waiting room to relax after the match. Cloud and Aerith had won, but you liked to think that you hadn’t made it easy on them. You didn’t want to consider what Don Corneo’s reaction would be, but that was a problem for later. Maybe, Andrea would take you in again at least for a while. As you began to close your eyes in thought, the door swung open and you made eye contact with Cloud. Without thinking, you threw yourself forwards and wrapped your arms around his neck, avoiding the pauldron. It was an awkward hug, but then again it always was with Cloud. He breathed out and slowly wrapped his arms around you, pulling you closer. You felt safer in the shelter of Cloud’s muscular arms than you had in a long time.
“What are you doing here, älskling?”
You savored his voice in your ear. Hearing Nibel spoken again after so long brought a smile to your face. You pulled away from him, grasped his hand, and took a moment to gather yourself before speaking.
“When I left, it was hard. Midgar is the furthest thing from Nibelheim. I didn’t know what to do or how to make money, so I tried different things. Some worked and some didn’t, and after a while I ended up in Wall Market. Fighting in the tournaments seemed as good a way to make a living as any.” You swallowed and almost didn’t speak your next sentence out loud. Wall Market had taught you what happened to people that admitted weaknesses, but this was Cloud. “I don’t really know what I’m going to do now.”
He looked at you for a moment. “Hmm, so today you were fighting to survive. I was fighting to win.”
You wouldn’t have put it quite like that, but it was rather accurate so you nodded.
He caressed his gloved thumb over your hand and seemed to contemplate the image of your hand in his before speaking. “Come with us, älskling.”
“Come with you?”
“Yes, come with us. Let’s be a vargflock again.”
You thought about your small one-roomed apartment and your life here in Wall Market in comparison to what your life could be like with Cloud anywhere else, and it wasn’t a difficult decision.
“Okay, I’ll come with you. Let’s go.”
He nodded and smiled at you in that way of his, before his Cup partner spoke.
“Hi! I didn’t want to interrupt, but I’m Aerith. And just to clarify, Cloud is not my boyfriend.” She waved at you and you waved back. “Now, can we go save Tifa?”
“Tifa? Tifa’s here? In Wall Market?” Your voice was frantic as you turned to Cloud.
“Yeah, Tifa’s here. We’re going to save her from Corneo.”
“Well then, what are we waiting for?”
Cloud squeezed your hand and you started towards the door. Together. A rescue mission sounded like a great way to end the day.

Distance Through Crashing Waves
Part of the Iridescence Fictional Universe
Precious Sea Glass Series
Pairings: [Dragon] Pero Tovar x [Nereid] f!Reader
Series Rating: E (Minors DNI) [TW: Semi-graphic battle scenes, minor character deaths]
Word Count: 1.7K
Summary: The Elder War has brought battle to Kvia after directly striking Gale Ennore to the North.
[AO3]
The Elder Fae and their worshippers chose Gale Ennore as their first strike, the Elvish city was North of Kvia by nearly a moon cycle with even the fastest of mounts, and you had been forced to watch Pero and William depart with a majority of the Elves and half-Elves that called Kvia home to reinforce the primary city defenses. Watching him shift forms into his true body left you with the reality that this could be the last time you saw him, the hulking onyx-scaled dragon that lurked beneath his guise of a human man serving as a reminder that even he wasn’t immune to every threat they might find, and you’d kissed his snout and begged him to return to you before he took to the skies.
“We must bolster the village defenses, are you staying?” Gawain and Khazos looked over at you, the Selkie and the Ursa weren’t exactly friends but in times of strife they were the most powerful defenders Kvia had, and all of your sisters and brothers looked to you as well. Kvia wasn’t your home the way it was for the others, you and your family dove deep beneath the waves to the grotto your Father had raised you all in at the end of the day, but this war wasn’t just theirs to face.
As a reply you picked up an axe for wood chopping, gripping the tool tightly. “Spiked barricades are what we need, yes?” You saw the respect in Khazos’ eyes as he nodded, your siblings hurrying to join you in assisting with barricade building and reinforcing the buildings, the rest of the were-kin and Selkie hastening to follow your lead. It was only days later that the worshippers of the Elder Fae Pesta arrived with their weapons drawn, the swamp-born goblins and trolls who dutifully helped spread her blight to homesteads bordering their territories were not what anyone expected to encounter, and everyone able-bodied enough was forced to fight.
As the only ones capable of using any kind of healing spells it was left to your family to treat the injured and sick, leaving the waters of the Glennrior Bay to churn and the Faldes Sea to smack heavily against the cliffs in response to your joint anger and fears, but none of you were kept from fighting either. Your arms shook as you gripped the haft of a goblin’s spear and wrenched the weapon from its hands, using the staff to deliver a stunning blow to its chin before spinning the weapon and driving the sharpened point through the layers of hide armor.
When there weren’t people to heal or your youngest siblings were able to handle that task you and the other elder Nereides joined the fighting, you had grown up learning how to battle with halberds and spears or tridents your entire lives after all, and yet your eyes lifted to the clouds any time the sun was hidden hoping to see the stretch of wings from above. “Take care not to be distracted.” Gawain’s ivory war club connected with a goblin in a powerful downward swing, crushing the assailant’s body and sending a spray of blood everywhere, and you nodded at his reprimand before using the pilfered weapon to take down another three goblins before the grip was too wet with blood to hold.
A torrent of water from the pond was used to ensnare and drown a troll before it could deliver a killing blow to a pair of young bulls from Marta’s family, the boys gathering their clubs and retreating to the congregation of fighting where it was safer, but you were too slow to block the upward swing of a hatchet and felt the searing pain along your jaw where the blade had cut into your skin. Any deeper and it would have caught the bone, instead only sea foam dribbled down your face as you sent an orb of water at the attacker to distract him before fleeing to where Melodia and Pelanos were finishing up with a cow that retrieved her axe and returned to the fight.
“There is poison, sister, I’m afraid it will scar-“
“I don’t care.”
You hated how harsh you spoke but there was no time for them to cry over your injury, not when lives had been lost and would be lost, so Melodia sang out the healing song as she held water to your face and the stinging pain faded. “Get rest when you can, both of you.” As they nodded you grabbed Pelanos’ halberd and hurried toward the front line, the spiked barricades had served their purpose to keep the main attackers out of the village, but you could see the piles of sea foam crackling and popping amidst the bodies and blood on the ground.
Outrage bolstered your magic and your body to fight, to defend and avenge, your vision blurred in a haze of anger and tears as the waves responded to match your fury.
He had abandoned Gale Ennore the moment the Immortals and Elder Ones had disappeared, the Elves were more than capable of fighting the last of the trash that had swarmed the stone gates, and Pero’s wings propelled him as he tucked his legs and arms closer to his body to increase his speed. He could see the signs of enemy forces breaking away from the main assault and it didn’t take a genius to know they’d gone to the village, his eyes narrowing as his magic swelled, but as he drew nearer he could hear the sounds of battle below.
Wooden spiked barricades protected the village on all sides, keeping the goblins and trolls from the center, and from here he could smell the pestilence below; his roar echoed in the air and he watched as many of the villagers beat a hasty retreat toward the only entrance through the barriers, torrents and waves of water shoving back the enemies as the were-kin in their bestial forms acted like mounts for other Nereides so that they could maintain their defensive walls.
Pero hadn’t seen you among the fighters but he had no reason to believe anything had happened to you just yet.
He could feel your magic pulsing, swelling strong and true, he knew you were alive.
He spewed flames at the foes below even as they tried to throw spears and plague filled satchels at him, his wingbeats preventing their feeble attempts from even getting close, and only after the last of the trolls fell as a burning husk did he drop down and shift forms; he ignored every person attempting to thank him, eyes searching the crowd for you. He spotted several of your siblings gathered together crying, where there had once been nearly fifty of you he spotted smaller groups totaling at about eighteen, and his heart nearly stopped.
“Pero-!”
He turned in time to catch you as you barreled at him full speed, his arms closing around you in a bruising grip, and your cool aura calmed the fire that had begun ravaging his mind. “Mi cristal marino. You’re safe.” He pulled back to tilt your head up and his eyes found the scar dragging up the right side of your face, stopping just higher than the corner of your mouth and starting right at the edge of your jaw, the skin discolored and jagged despite being healed over. “It was Pesta’s worshippers that did this to you? I will reduce her to ash-“ Your mouth sealed over his before he could finish his threat, hands coiling in his hair, and Pero’s mind blanked before he was licking into your mouth with a groan.
“Stay, please, for as long as you can. Don’t go chasing down an Elder Fae for this, I need you here.”
He followed your gaze to the piles of bodies, blood, and sea foam that littered the grass and recognized the way your voice broke. Pero held you tighter against his armor and nodded into the crown of your head, he had never needed to fear the loss of his kin like any others since most creatures did not foolishly chance facing a dragon, but your grieving state was one he would never forget. Every instinct to rage became the need to protect, to hoard you away, but he couldn’t.
Not yet.
Pero dutifully stood by your side as you and the remaining members of your family used your magic to gather the sea foam and return it to the crashing waves, he watched as the white foam shimmered like the smallest gems and dissipated into the water for good, and he fashioned a means of ferrying you and the other Nereides up into his dreyerie after spotting the meré lurking in the waves waiting for anyone foolish enough to try and enter the sea.
There was no way in hell he would let you anywhere away from him right now, he let you remove his armor and his tunic after everyone was settled amidst his hoard of treasures, and Pero held you close to him as the exhaustion from grief and fighting lured you to sleep. He could feel the churning and shifting of the wilding magic as the Immortals battled their foes, he was aware that drastic measures were likely to be taken but all he could do for now was hold you close and face any threats that came this way.
His hands brushed the skin of your cheek as he watched you, still amazed that you’d been placed in his path, and he couldn’t begin to imagine what he would do if this war truly robbed him of everything. He wanted to spirit you away to the volcano that served as his clan’s home, to keep you safe and secret among the dragons where no harm would ever find you just the his most precious of treasures, but you were not an item to be kept or admired when the desire arose.
You were beautiful, compassionate, alive, and he traced your new scar once more with no less anger than when he’d first seen it. He would be patient, allow you to grieve and wait until the Elder Fae were humbled enough to slink back to their territory once again, and then he would make you his in more than just a declaration of intent.

Are you two friends yet? Cloud Strife x Fem!Reader
Pairing: Cloud Strife x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Some cussing, mentions of death, itsy bitsy angst.
Type: One shot
Request: N/A
Word Count: 2,327
Prompt: The reader meets Cloud at Tifa's bar, tells him her story and it doesn't take long for Cloud to consider her a friend. Basically Reader and Cloud meet for the first time. Eeeep
Notes: HA bet you didn't expect this from me. But I've been getting into FF and there's not enough writing on them but since I'm still fairly new to this I just be testing the waters. I was so impatient to release this tho lol. Honestly I was thinking about making this longer, or at least making a part two and three because I really do like where this story is going and it def holds potential imo, but I mostly did this for shits and giggles because I'm also Clouds babie. Kiss kiss.
Growing up, you knew this was the life almost everyone had to endure, there was really no option of a warfree life, but sometimes that took a toll on you. You were exhausted, truly, but you kept that to yourself, you were sure many people were exhausted and that your feelings couldn't be validated. A few years back your father became a mercenary, abandoning you and your mother, it wasn't long after that your mother died protecting you, it was devastating, traumatic to say the least. You ached at the memory, nothing soothed it, your heart kept bleeding. There really was no comfort at the time, you were inconsolable. Still there was a lot of emotions brewing inside of you, mostly resentment, hatred, but overall fear. You would never admit it, you rather die. You were fearful of everything around you, but continued to train yourself to react violently at whatever made you afraid.
It didn't take long after your mothers death that you decided to take up his mantle of being a protector. It wasn't easy, it was far from that. There had been many times you were entangled in bruises, cuts and gauze, you got your fair share of both kicking and getting your ass kicked. However, you swore you'd fight back with your very life and you have. Your father never really taught you anything other than the basics in training, how to defend yourself, how to get out of sticky situations, how to react quickly. You weren't very familiar with weapons or how to wield them, correctly at least, but you adapted well to environments, using whatever was nearby to come out alive.
You'd been in more brawls than you could count, heaving as you zig zagged your way through alleyways and swinging whatever was nearby towards any attacker that was a hair away from you. Sometimes even doing the most basic errands became taxing, one of your favorite weapons became two small blades, about your forearms length, taken from one of your attackers from a previous battle. It was strenuous to handle them if you were being honest, you didn't know anything about these things, only from what you've seen with your opponents. There were plenty of moments where you've sliced your hands, arms, even thighs, which those hurt the most if you were being sincere. Of course there was much to grasp when it came to fighting.
here was no other way to learn than the hard way but you didn't want to be the defender anymore, you wanted to rest, you wanted to be the one behind the shield again, you wanted to take a break. You'd lock yourself in the bathroom, weep silently at the frustration all while taking a shower, getting dressed and ready for the day, never showing an ounce of hesitation before anyone. You didn't want anyone to be aware that you were afraid, you didn't want to admit it and you didn't want to be the protector anymore.
The closest release you've had were the times you'd massacre your attackers, all pretending they were the ones who had your mothers blood on their hands. This was your only outlet, this and training, you put your all into it. Every punch, kick, shove, swing, each of it was running on the hatred you felt, the hurt you carried. Still, nothing seemed to soothe.
Tifa was a close friend of yours, afterall you both could've used a friend like each other. You frequented her bar a lot, whether it was to get completely shitfaced because of the stress or just to unwind some, but always to see how Tifa was holding up. It was raining some, the streets were damp and you shoved yourself through the doors going straight to the elongated table but before you could make it any further you noticed a new face in the crowd. It wasn't uncommon for Tifa to serve travelers, but this was different.
She was visibly entertained with this unfamiliar face, he was slim toned, dressed in dark tones from head to toe, a threatening sword clasped onto his back, thick combat boots worthy of bloodshed evidence. You stared at him for a second, then looked at Tifa, it was then she caught your shape in the corner of her eye, as if her face couldn't light up any more, it certainly did. "Y/N!" She exclaimed, motioning you to come closer, but your hesitancy was persistent. After a few seconds you dragged yourself towards both of them. You stiffened as you sat next to the stranger, Tifa's eyes shifted back to you then the guy next to you, she knew you weren't very social, but he must be very important to her if she insisted you stop by. "Y/N, this is Cloud Strife. He's been a friend of mine since childhood, it's been a while since he came around." Her eyes then lingered towards him for a brief second. You gazed at him for a split second, your cheeks reddened delicately. "Cloud, this is Y/N. We met at the slums, she saved my ass back there." Tifa grinned with her arms crossed pressed against the table, her eyes moving back and forth between you and Cloud? was it. A frown fell upon your face, shaking your head in denial "What? No, if it wasn't for Tifa I'd be dinner." You laughed weakly, visibly nervous at the lack of interest coming from Tifa's childhood friend.
"Here, I'll get you guys a drink." The voided haired woman broke in silence, turning her back to the pair of you. As she busied herself, you swallowed dryly, unsure of how to react. He only sat there, almost as if he was lost in thought, battling in his own head, you were all too familiar with the feeling. You empathized with him though, trying not to judge him for his lack of social skills, after all, you were mimicking his energy, without meaning to. You pursed your lips and kept your eyes on the glass table waiting for Tifa to return, to your luck she was tending to others.
You've been in more awkward situations, you thought. It almost became hard to breathe, though the traffic was flowing relatively as usual, it still felt like you were in the spotlight. You wagered your options and among them all, you decided maybe excusing yourself to the bathroom was your best option. Your eyes glazing over to Tifa and just as you parted your lips to speak, Cloud spoke.
"How long have you known her?"
It caught you somewhat off guard, your head then swayed back to him, who was still in the same motionless position as prior. "Oh, um, about two years, going on three this spring." You nodded, pushing your hair back behind your ear as an indication of nervousness. Of course he didn't have to know that. "What are you visiting for?" You turned to him, still afraid to look him in the eyes, you weren't very good at handling rejection, any kind of rejection and to avoid handling it, you decided to go to the source, by avoiding interacting with anyone unless it was absolutely necessary.
He turned his head towards the direction of your hands, his eyes lingered for a moment, the same pout still expressed across his face. "Just wandering." Was his only explanation, which was good enough for you, prying was never something you did and you wouldn't start today. Tifas warm smile welcomed you again. "Here Y/N, your favorite." She beamed before you, pushing a glass of Y/F/D towards you and a glass towards Cloud. "This is Y/N's favorite drink, I thought you'd try something new today Cloud." She giggled, you turned your head over to the stiff guy, his pale cheeks coming alive with some pink. Initially you didn't get a good look at him, not until now, maybe it was Tifa that gave you the confidence. His eyes were bold, blue, vividly contrasting his face and his entire outfit, freckles splayed across his face, more noticeable with the newformed pink stains.
"I like it." He admitted after a sip, he seemed to take his time drinking, with no rush to go anywhere, you became more curious about this new person. Tifa grinned at his response, you continued to drink from your glass, falling back into your shell. Licking your lips as you looked down to the liquid, there was no way to make you more interesting, so you thought. Instead you let Tifa take the lead, but she was at work and it didn't take long for her to be busy again. "I'll be right back." She excused herself again, she didn't need to explain, she was at work after all. You turned your gaze to Cloud again, a little boozed up gave you a bit more confidence. "So, what do you do Cloud?" You choked out, it was almost painful to try to bring a conversation alive when the other person was just as perplexing
He sat there motionless once more, almost as if he didn't hear you, at this point you weren't really sure. "I was a soldier.. Now I just find, jobs to fulfill." He admitted, which explained his attire, not that you really questioned it, but it made more sense. You sat there semi-stunned, unsure if you wanted to continue further or not. "I see." You replied, looking back to your beverage. Your back relaxed a bit, signaling defeat, which in a way was. When your shoulders relaxed and you turned elsewhere, it seemed like Cloud snapped back to reality. "What about you? What's your story?" He asked, his tone was somewhat off, but it still gravitated you back to him. A small frown came across your face, was your mothers death really your story? Come to think of it, you felt like you didn't really have a story. "I don't think it's very different from others around here.." You ached as you spoke. Cloud noted this immediately, though he showed an indifference, it was far from it. He was listening to you.
"No one's story is the same." He disputed, it seemed like the logical response, which it was, but there was a glimmer of being taken into account by someone other than Tifa, which made you feel a bit odd. After a pause, you quickly gathered he was still waiting for a response, which made your blood rush to your cheeks once more. You swallowed again, a slight tingle overcame you, it was just nerves. "My father left my mom and me when I was ten?" Your eyebrows knit together as you tried to remember, some of the memories became blurry as the time continued. "My mother said he was going to become a mercenary, so either he got killed or really liked the job." You slowly shrugged at the discomfort of the idea. "It doesn't matter what was of him anyway. A few months later, we were attacked, my mother did everything she could to protect me, I was under the bed when this all happened. She stuffed me under there, but after she left the room, I climbed out through the window. If I had stayed under there, I would've been dead too, but maybe that wouldn't have been so bad." You continued to ramble, Cloud could tell how this affected you, he was all too familiar with the feeling of guilt, he knew what that face meant.
Hurriedly you took a sip from your drink again, all the way to the last drop. Cloud just stayed looking at you, not knowing how to respond or comfort you, there was a slight panic going on in his head, but you were too caught up in the memory. "I'm sorry." You smiled strangely as you set the glass down, trying to regulate your breathing.
Cloud hesitated, but he placed a hand over the back of your wrist as it laid against the table. Your jagged breathing came to a halt, just as he radiated calmness. When you eased, Cloud did as well. He wasn't very good with words, it didn't take long to notice that, but that little gesture seemed to alleviate more than any speech would. "Your mother didn't die in vain Y/N." You never imagined it like that, your eyes turned to Cloud, blurry and tainted pink around Y/E/C colored rings. There was a gentleness in his frown, his hand hadn't left your wrist, it may have been a small gesture, but you'd be lying if you said you weren't stinging for another persons touch. "Thank you Cloud." Was all you could muster out of your throat, you fiddled with your glass with your free hand, looking away from his face and back to the empty cup. This was his sign to remove his hand, which he did, promptly to your dismay. You were kind of hoping he'd stay like that for a while, but you two had just met, you were just desperate to be comforted and this wasn't fair to throw it on him.
You blinked away the evidence of your ache, swiping your tongue across your bottom lip and looked up when Tifa approached you both. "Are you guys friends yet?" She asked hopefully as her gaze shifted between both of you, her eyes lingered to you when she noticed your rosy cheeks and nose, knowing this was an indication of your sadness. It was hard to keep these things from Tifa, she was very good at picking up the smallest gestures, especially of those close to her and she proudly considered you as close.
Before you could say anything, to both you and Tifa's surprise Cloud broke the silence "I'd say so." A soft smile came upon your face as Tifa's eyebrows arched slightly in surprise. You surely hoped to become his friend.

A/N: Another Cloud writing because I love him, this time pure self indulgent intimate fluff! Hope you enjoy! 😄
(that smirk killed me when I saw it in the trailer and then again in the game 😍)
Cloud Strife x Gender Neutral Reader
Nervous butterflies immediately spread inside my stomach at the sight of him. There he was, coolly leaning his back on the wall with his arms crossed and a thoughtful expression as he absently watched the ground beneath his feet.
“Cloud!” He immediately lifted his head at the sound of my voice. “There you are”
I advanced toward him, even if I hesitated when his piercing eyes fell over me. His frown deepened at the gesture, but I tried to pretend like nothing happened.
My mind worked at top speed, rummaging for the words I had so carefully chosen to face this moment. Even then, it felt impossible to speak up. My tongue felt clumsy in my mouth and my voice seemed to shake in my throat. His loud silence was only making matters worse.
“I was looking for you...” I started, positioning myself in front of him. “I need to tell you something”
Still staring at me, Cloud tilted his head. His pause lasted only a few seconds, though they felt like hours.
“What’s wrong?” His fingers grazed my arms, making me realize I was anxiously playing with my own hands.
“I, uh...” Under his scrutiny, I had to avert my eyes. Even if there was a hint of concern in his expression mixed with the curiosity. “Well, you’ll see...”
I mentally scolded myself for failing at this yet again. It wasn’t the first time I tried to confess to him, but I did hope it would be the last. I promised myself I would do it once and for all.
“Just get it over with” He told me, and I knew him enough to realize that, despite his apparent deadpan and exasperated tone, he said it to help.
“I...” I forced myself to maintain eye contact. It was a hard task, but I just spit it out. “IthinkIhavefeelingsforyouandIwantedtotellyou”
Finally, it was off my chest! The words came out rushed and I hoped he understood them, because I didn’t feel strong enough to repeat them.
He didn’t say anything at first, he only arched his eyebrows in shock.
“Uh...” It was Cloud who averted his eyes now, frowning a little. “You have feelings... f-for me?”
“Yeah...” I awkwardly chuckled to hide the fact that my heart was racing.
“Oh...” He stirred in the spot, tightening his arms over his chest. “I see”
I cringed at how awkward I made everything. Many possiblities went through my brain to lessen the tension. Maybe pretend like it was just a joke, or...
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Cloud suddenly asked me, claiming my attention back.
“Huh?” I blinked, but he didn’t repeat himself. “Well, I didn’t want to make you feel uncomfortable”
He nodded in deep thought, but continued to speak after a moment. It surprised me that he wanted to dig deeper into the subject.
“Then why are you telling me now?”
“B-Because!” I couldn’t hold his attentive gaze. “I needed to get it off my chest and you deserved to know anyway, so...”
“Right... What kind of feelings are we walking about?”
“I... might be in love with you”
“How long have you known for?”
Baffled by this sudden talkative side of his, I dared to look into his eyes. The ocean of blue was as inscrutable as always, although I recognized something wonderful and new in them.
“Why are you asking me all these questions?” I started saying, even if the answer came to me in the middle of the sentence. “Unless...”
“What?” He tiredly asked, apparently bothered that he was interrupted.
“Unless you have feelings too” I grinned, poking his chest with a finger.
Cloud cleared his throat and found a sudden interest in a tree near by. For the first time in these minutes that felt like hours, my nervousness turned to excitement. He remained silent, although I recognized a faint pink tone in his cheeks. I would have never thought I would see Cloud Strife actually blushing. Because of me.
“I don’t hear you deny it, Cloud” I smirked, unable to contain my teasing tone.
“Quit it” Was all he said, bowing his head down in quiet defeat. He still didn’t deny it.
“I can’t believe it!” Too thrilled to think about I was doing, I threw my arms around his neck and hugged him tight. “I should have told you so much sooner, I-”
When Cloud tensed against me and gasped at the closeness, I froze. He was always so distant, and I had just hugged him out of the blue. Panicking and immediately letting go of him, I took a step back.
“I’m so sorry, please forgive me” I shut my eyes tight in embarrassment, now probably blushing myself. “I just got excited, I didn’t mean to bother you, I...”
“It’s fine” Cloud was quick to say, and so I opened my eyes and watched him carefully. “I...”
“You what?” I stuttered, feeling a spark of hope igniting in my chest once again.
“I didn’t mind it that much...” Cloud shrugged, even if never meeting my eyes.
Moved by pure euphoria, a chuckle escaped my lips. My chest felt warm and full, even if my heart hadn’t stopped racing and I was getting light headed.
Taking a cautious step forward, I reclaimed the closeness I had established before. He didn’t flinch, and in fact slowly moved his head. His eyes locked with mine, calling the butterflies to wreak havok inside my stomach again. There was such intensity and fondness in his eyes that my knees felt weak.
“Is this okay then?” I rested my hands on his chest, watching him closely.
Cloud took a shaky breath in, but silently nodded his head. I sweetly smiled at him. The corner of his lips curved up ever so slightly.
Carefully, I moved my hands up until they wrapped around his neck again. He didn’t move an inch. My fingers played with the shorter hair at his nape. His hands timidly fell on my hips.
“This too?” I asked again, gently squeezing him against me until our fronts touched and we were resting against each other.
“Yeah” He whispered, and his breath tickled my nose. We were so close that our mouths were mere inches away. Did I dare break the small distance?
I leaned in. Cloud clung on to me, his fingers softly sinking into my sides. Was it just me or were we both breathing heavily? I definitely felt ouf of breath.
Our lips grazed for just a milisecond, but he suddenly gasped and moved backwards a little. I tried to step away, but his hands held me tight against him.
“Sorry” Cloud shook his head, but it seemed like the gesture was more to himself than to me.
“It’s okay if you don’t want to-”
“It’s not that”
“Then...”
He didn’t say anything, only stared into my eyes. I laughed a little when I realized what the problem was. Despite all the walls he built to protect himself, I saw through them. They had turned invisible to me, even if they were still there.
Cloud was nervous too. He was scared, he felt clumsy and unexpirienced at this. But then again, so did I. We could be vulnerable together. I was willing to show him he had nothing to worry about. Not with me.
“I’ve got you, Cloud” I retrieved my sweet smile, lightly tightening the embrace to show him everything was okay. “Do you trust me?”
He nervously blinked. His gaze never left mine, and I could read the consent in it. Nonetheless, I waited for one more signal. Then he nodded.
“Close your eyes” I whispered, and he didn’t hesitate to oblige. Despite it all, he gulped, but his arms were tender around me. Strong as always, but relaxed.
I closed my eyes too, leaning in. The breath hitched in my throat when the small distance was broken and our lips touched. I shivered, and his hands immediately moved up. They reinforced his hold on me to cradle me as we passionately kissed. It was only a peck, and it was brief, but it was everything. Everything I wanted, everything I needed. Everything I dreamed of.
My shoulders tingled as we slowly pulled away. It was hard to breathe again, but in such a wonderful way. Overwhelmed with the emotions, it took me several more seconds to open my eyes.
Cloud sighed, and the little tension that lingered on his shoulders dissapeared with the air he let out. Serious and adorably concerned, he stared at me.
“Did you mind that?” I teased him, pressing my forehead against his.
“No” He muttered, and I caught a glimpse of a smirk at the corner of his lips.
It was such a gesture unlike him, but it felt genuine. Filled with secret happiness, pride and excitement. Those lips that I had just kissed slowly but surely curled up even more, and I had never seen such a beautiful sight. Hello, Neighbor | IV
Since moving in you have compiled a comprehensive list on your mysterious neighbor across the way.
Do Kyungsoo, otherwise known as Asian Bobby Flay and apparently Bruno Mars’ protégé.
Pairing: Kyungsoo x Reader
Words: 1.9 k
Genre: Fluff
Previous: I II III
Today was a good day.
The sun was shining, fluffy white clouds dusting the sky like a painting. With all the windows wide open, you could hear the beauty of nature around you. Birds chirping, children laughing…
Your brain cells screaming in anguish as they were destroyed by a miasma of paint fumes.
Ah, what a time to be alive.
You wasted no time once you saw the sun begin to peak through your curtains, all but flying out of bed and getting ready to make the trip to the hardware store. You made the trip brief, grabbing rollers and various brushes while the paint was being mixed. Taping the edges went by fairly quickly and after pushing all your furniture to the middle of your room, you covered everything with a clear plastic sheet, your living room now looking very much like an episode of Dexter.
I knew I should have chosen red.
Taking down your curtains once again, you stepped back as your apartment reverted back to its fishbowl glory. Glancing over, you saw dark curtains still firmly closed. It made sense, it was the weekend after all and he was probably sleeping in. You faintly wondered what he would do once he pulled those curtains back and saw what you were doing. It should not come as a surprise since he was the one who picked out the colour, thus getting the ball rolling on your home renovation. You almost entertained the idea of asking him whether he would like to help, but you almost slapped yourself at the absurdness.
Putting on some music you had a pretty good pace going, by the time it was just past noon you were two-thirds done, humming along to the melody and swaying to the beat. As more and more paint covered the walls, washing the bland white away with deep blue you found yourself becoming more and more pleased as everything started coming together. Your neighbor had an eye for interior design, that much was certain. What a talented little thing he was.
Speak of the devil, as you swiped the roller along the corner wall beside the window, you saw familiar curtains slowly being pulled back and you almost dropped the roller as you felt your body go slack.
What the actual f-
Earlier you had assumed the reason for your neighbor’s absence was due to simply him sleeping in with it being the weekend and whatnot, doing what any rational person would do. Well, it appeared that you were half-right in your assumptions, he indeed was sleeping in… however your reasoning could not have been farther from the truth.
Once you saw the curtains being pulled back, you were expecting to be presented with a sleepy variation of the reserved man, dressed in crinkled pajamas and probably rubbing his bleary eyes or something along those lines.
But instead, you were greeted by a bloody harlot.
Dressed in a tight black button down shirt and matching blazer, you saw an expanse of smooth pale skin as the top buttons were left undone. You took in how his usually limp black hair was fashionably styled up and tousled oh so nicely with sleep. Holding himself with an air of confidence even in his groggy state, you gaped at just how different he looked. So much more disheveled, so much more manly, you couldn’t comprehend how someone that was always so reserved could pull a 180 and look like that.
He had yet to notice your presence, you watched as his face instantly twisted with distaste as the sun shone into his eyes, wincing away and bringing his hands up to massage his temples.
Was he wearing eyeliner-
Suddenly a charcoal rimmed eye cracked open, sights set on your general direction.
You literally threw yourself at the wall.
Feeling wet paint coat the entire left side of your body, you were not concerned in the slightest with the fact that you had just ruined your hard work. Instead, you were trying to focus on your heart, which seemed to be trying to burst out of your chest. Peeling yourself from the wall quite literally, you lowered into a crouch, keeping out of sight and held your hands out in front of you.
Gesturing with your left hand you imagined your neighbor – sheepish and kept, with his floppy bowl-cut looking hair and mild manners. Now with your right hand, you pictured…whatever it was you just saw. Maybe he has a twin? An evil twin that leads a life completely opposite of the man you had familiarized with for the past month.
There was just no way.
How could you not have noticed him dress like that before? You had admitted to yourself that he was a good-looking person sure; he had nice enough features and even wondered if he did modeling, but this. It was one thing to have an imagination, but to have fantasy become something of reality was making your head spin.
Actually, that might just be from the fumes again.
You should really get a fan in here to help with that.
Still trying to come to terms with the sick, twisted curveball your life had thrown at you, you began to think deliberately. So your squeaky clean looking neighbor was not so squeaky clean after all, where was he last night to be dressed like that. A party? Clubbing? Oh, what if he is part of a Host Club. You always prided yourself on being a good judge of character, acutely observant and silently assessing the world around you accurately.
But oh no, you have never been more wrong in your entire life.
Mentally reviewing the list you had put together about the mysterious man, you were coming to the very obvious conclusion that there was so much that you clearly did not know about him. Of course, you do not actually know anything about him, all preconceived notions you had were solely based on your own observations. You did not know anything about his personality other than what you assumed he was like by your chance encounters.
You didn’t even know his name for crying out loud.
A deep frown took residence on your face as you thought about this. You knew you weren’t exactly friends, far from it actually. You were simply two people who happened to live across one another and greeted each other cordially when the situation called for it. There was nothing special about your encounters, however, the fact that you only seemed to have said encounters with the dark haired man and no one else made it somewhat… special? Like there was a silent understanding between the two of you, one that no one in any of the other units was part of.
Did he also think about your encounters the same way? Did he share the odd sense of familiarity you felt towards him? Did you want him to think anything of you?
Because you sure as hell were going to do a whole lot of thinking about him now.
Oh boy.
Putting your head in your hands you grimaced at the slimy feel of paint in your hair, you also became aware of the left side of your face becoming stiff as the paint started to dry, pulling your skin taught as you moved it. Casting a forlorn glance at the unfinished wall, and a wary one at your window, you turned and started crawling down the hall.
You had to wash all of this paint off first.
You will admit that you probably did not have to stay in the shower for as long as you did, but thought of leaving the confines of your bathroom and going out there, where he will probably be lounging in his living room, it was enough for you to just continue standing there in nervous contemplation. Eventually you had to cut your losses when you started resembling a human prune and dressing in paint free clothes you pulled your hair up into a bun and walked out of the bathroom.
Creeping down the corridor, you half-registered that there was no reason for you to be acting stealthily in your hallway, but nevertheless, you slowly peered into your living room. Not seeing any sign of the cause of your current strife, you quickly picked up your paint roller and began to hastily resume painting, suddenly wanting nothing more than to have it over and done with.
You had gotten back into your lull of painting, doing one final pass along the trim of your ceiling, you let out a satisfied hum, pulling back the brush and slowly climbing down the ladder-
“That colour ended up suiting really well didn’t it?”
You slipped on the last step, falling forward and slamming your arm down on the bone that isn’t actually all that funny.
A string of curses left you and dropping the paintbrush you grabbed your arm, wondering why the universe hated you today.
Turning you saw his body quickly make way to the side of the window closest to you, eyes wide with concern and arms out as if he were going to grab you for support.
“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to scare you,” he hurriedly offered, looking instantly guilty at your pain-streaked face. He continued to fret, asking if you were ok but you weren’t listening, you were staring dumbstruck at him.
Long gone was the Host Club prince, and you were met with the sight of your sheepish neighbor.
What.
Did he not see you earlier? He must not have, and in the time you were in the shower, he also took the time to change, losing the provocative black ensemble and opting for a bright yellow hoodie. His face was also bare of any cosmetics, hair falling limply across his forehead.
What sorcery was this?
You could not believe you were looking at the same person. The difference is so jarring that you were beginning to wonder if you dreamt the other version. Why would he have such completely different types of styles, it was almost as if he was wearing a costume earlier and just forgot to take it off.
You belatedly noticed he had stopped talking and was now hesitantly waving a hand in your line of sight. Shaking your head slightly you looked at him properly, offering a slight smile, trying desperately to hide the flush that was creeping up your neck.
“Don’t worry about it, it was only a matter of time before gravity had its way with me” you bent down and picked up the paintbrush from the floor in a desperate attempt to hide from his eyes “Thanks again for the colour choice, I never did thank you, I think it turned out really great”
Glancing briefly at him as you placed the brush in the paint tray, you saw him nod, brows creasing slightly he opened his mouth to say something but before he could a faint ringing was heard. You watched him stall, before nodding slightly again.
“Yeah.. it was no problem, happy to have helped” with that, he excused himself and traversed deeper into his apartment, you faintly heard the ringing stop, meaning he probably went to go answer whoever was calling.
Letting out the breath didn’t realize you were holding in, you stared at the ceiling helplessly.
Why am I like this?

This will be ongoing from January 14th through January 17th. I thought it’d be fun to do a long celebration weekend/sleepover and having never done a celebration before, I’m really excited to do one with you so let’s get started! Please feel free to send things in before Friday if you’d like. Celebration details below the cut.

📝 Drabble Requests
This is my first time taking requests, so I’m super excited! Send me a prompt from this list of fluff/relationship prompts or this list of hero x villain prompts (For the latter, please include the quote if you’re requesting from that list) with a character. You could also send in a character and an idea as well. Please specify whether you’d like the reader to be an F! or GN! Reader. At the moment, I don’t write smut so please keep that in mind.
