She stood on a hill overlooking ponyville. It was a dark night, almost everypony was asleep, the ones that weren't dimmed their lights. Nopony moved on the streets and it was eerily silent. The clouds started bunching up, coming together in a big glob right about the town hall, their dark shapes blocking out Luna's stars and moon. An eye formed as the clouds began to swirl over the town. Golden light started flowing through the gaps in the cover over the sky. She felt a great power coalescing over the valley.

Suddenly a thin golden hair struck the ground, connecting the aerial leviathan with the hall. Dawn struck as brilliant light split the night. Ponies rushed to the street, Celestia greeting them reborn. The air heated as beams of iridecense struck the earth at the command of the false deity. Roofs were set ablaze in towers of fire.

Everything stopped. It was as if time froze. She couldn't feel her breathing. A scorching white filled her eyes. Air rushed through her twitching ears. The light seemed impossibly intense, but she could not avert her gaze. After a few seconds, it died back down.

Ponyville did not exist anymore.

Glass covered the flat ground. Her legs gave out. Tears hit the ground. Sobs stuck in her throat, her pain choking her. She remembered everything. Every filly and colt laughing. Every mare and stallion she befriended in her time here. The cupcakes she shared. She forgot to water the flowers. Her marefriend told her to take out the trash and water the flowers before she left for the evening. Her body was always warm when she came back late at night. She cried until she couldn't breathe.
