The Arsenal dressing room was always a vibe, even if it was just for practice sessions. Usually, Leah Williamson would be blasting music, but with her being out with a torn ACL, Katie and Steph took over, making for a wild mix.

This would be your second season at the club and even with the new additions, you were one of the younger ones, forever in awe watching the likes of Kim Little and Beth Mead play. But you fit in well, making fast friends with Lotte and Laura who always laughed at your half jokes-half stupidity. In the beginning, Katie tried to recruit you for her pranks, but in the end, it was Jen who would take on the role of your ‘mentor’ for getting around and meeting people.

Now in your second season, four new girls were joining the team – Laia, Amanda, Cloe, and of course Alessia. Meeting them was easy enough, especially the English striker, as you had played her last season – but the other girls were nice as well. You not having competed in the World Cup, as you hadn’t managed the jump up to the senior Lionesses just yet, made it easier to meet Laia, who was joking with you as well as she could with her limited English.

Your dressing room cubby was situated between Steph and Beth who constantly were teasing you for taking forever to get ready – always the last one out on the pitch. Nobody thought anything of it, the girls just thought that you liked to take your time, or that you weren’t organized well enough, and while that was true, the real reason was you struggled to do your hair.

Every single day it was a battle – buns were insecure and fell out easily, tight pony-tails gave you a headache and the swishing hairs annoyed you to no end. Not being able to braid your own hair was incredibly annoying.

It's not like you didn’t try.

You did.

Every single practice session and game, at home before going out, and just when you were bored – nothing worked. After a while your arms started to hurt and tears threatened to fall due to frustration. That’s why you were the last one out, giving your hair just one last attempt before giving up and throwing it in a nice and easy low bun.

And today was no different. It was the third training session since the girls got back from the World Cup, and the new players joined them. Everyone was hyping themselves and each other up before they left the room.

“Has anyone seen my Jersey?”

Jen rolled her eyes, “In the bathroom.” With quick steps you retrieved your jersey, no clue how it got there.

On the way back you tripped over Laia’s shoes – the Spaniard barely catching your arms and keeping you from hitting the ground.

“Where are my shorts?”

“In my bag, you left them yesterday, I washed them.” Katie threw them to you, your forgetfulness and clumsiness highly amusing her.

Slowly everyone left but you. When you didn’t see anybody you tried again, desperately trying to braid your hair in front of the quite high mirror.

“Why isn’t this shit working?” With a loud clattering, your brush fell to the floor.

“God damn it! Why can’t I do this? Why am I so stupid?” Alessia, who was still in the bathroom listened with a little smirk on her face until she heard your voice wavering. You were always so fun to be around, so hearing you this frustrated with yourself and being so mean to yourself was new and terrifying for the striker.

“Fuck this.” You had given up, resulting in a low bun. Alessia heard you throw your brush into some corner, frustration getting the better of you.

Not wanting you to be embarrassed, she waited until she was sure you were gone before entering the changing room. The brush she picked up was littered with cute little stickers, and covered in hair - obviously yours.

The tall blonde could just imagine you roughly brushing your hair in anger, feeling sorry for your scalp.

Carefully she put it down in your cubby, and before she left Alessia collected your things that were all over the room and folded them neatly for you.

The rest of the team and training staff were already standing in a circle when Alessia joined them.

“Looks like we have a new late-commer!” Jonas was laughing at the striker, not mad at all. When Alessia's eyes met yours, she could see the realization dawn upon you – She had been there when you were so harsh to your mirror image.

During the whole training session, you were much quieter than usual, embarrassed that you had been caught – by Alessia at that. Alessia who was new, and who you admired so much.

Katie, your traings-buddy tried to get information, on why you were so strange, but you deflected, making her talk about Lauryn’s game instead. While the Irish woman obviously knew what you were doing, she was more than happy to talk about her little sister to someone genuinely interested – even if it was just to distract you.

Alessia tried to get close to you, but somehow you were always gone before she got there. At the end of training, you just packed your bag, not even changing, and stormed out the door.

You took notice of your thing being neatly folded on your cubby and you briefly glanced at the tall blonde who was already looking at you.

“She was weird today, right?” Kim, who liked to title herself as your big sister asked into the silence that you left behind.

“Yeah. Yeah, she was.”

The next day your chaos started all over again, and the older girls were relieved that you seemed to be back to normal again. Alessia was surprised that you even talked to her, she thought you were mad at her when you really just needed to get over your embarrassment.

After everyone else left, it was just the two of you left.

“I’m sorry that you had to witness that. Yesterday, I mean.” The striker knew what you meant and sat down next to you, one of her big hands stroking your back, trying to get you comfortable.

“Don’t worry about it.” It was silent for another second, your cheeks felt like they were on fire from blushing so hard.

“You’re not stupid.” Her hand stilled and she gently grabbed your chin, turning your face to her. Your brain just blanked, and she saw, “You were really mean to yourself yesterday – You are not stupid.”

Upon your attempt to turn your flushed face away from her, she held it more firmly. “Do you understand amore?”

A weak nod earned you a raised eyebrow. “I’m not stupid…” The blonde smirked satisfied and turned your face to press a kiss to your cheek.

“Come now, I’ll braid your hair. No need to make your scalp bleed anymore.” With gentle hands she pulled you in front of the mirror, braiding your hair with quick fingers before squeezing your shoulders when she was done.

Katie and Beth wiggled their eyebrows at the two of you when they saw Alessia enter the pitch with you at her side – your face so flushed no one could miss it.

And from that day on, Alessia did your hair in the dressing room. But it wasn’t kept a secret for long, so with her help, you managed to get ready on time. Alessia, your own little assistant, who would never complain about your jitteriness, clumsiness, or forgetfulness. An angel sent from heaven – or hell when you looked at Manchester United.

AWFC, what's going wrong; 23/24 season analysis.

The 23/24 season for Arsenal Women hasn't been impressive, with an opening day defeat to Liverpool, and then losing to West Ham and Tottenham for the first time ever in the league, you have to start asking how we've fallen so far from what we once were.

After going trophyless for 4 years, we finally won the League Cup last season, and managed to defeat Chelsea again in order to win it this season, but when you peel back the years, you realise that for a club like Arsenal, this does not cut it. We haven't won the league since 2019, and we haven't won the FA Cup, the trophy Arsenal have won more than any other club, since 2016.

With an injury crisis last season that left us paper thin, we were obviously going to need some quick signings to cover us just whilst our regular squad members recovered. Ilistedt, Codina, Lacasse, KCC and Alessia Russo where all summer signings.

Alessia Russo is our top scorer this season with 10 goals, and her off the ball work is superb, and I think that she'll only get better. I'm willing to give Codina some time, she's only young and she's having to adapt to another club and country's playing style, I think she has a winning mentality that could push us forward, and I think she's ben okay for us this season. I really don't think I've seen enough of KCC this seasonn, we payed 300K for her and we've barely played her. Jonas likes to play her as a defensive midfielder, where I do think she is more of an 8 (I did think she was Jordans replacement at the start of the season) So I would definitely like to see more, but I think she has a good passing ability, but I don't think she should start in big games just yet, I think she needs more time. I do not think Amanda and Cloe were good signings, yes they have done good and come through for us this season, are they Arsenal standard ? No.

We have to admit it now, we have players that are not good enough, because if we don't, we will stay the way we are. We also have to admit that even our players that are good enough, have been lacking this season when we needed them the most. I didn't rate LWM at all last season, whereas this season she's in contention for PLOTS, I think Beth has made a big impact G/A wise, she's our second top scorer, Caitlin is good for Australia, she lacks for Arsenal. Stina needs to learn the offside rule, she scores goals for us, even with limited game time this season, but I'm gonna need Arsenal to put in the money for a world class striker. Viv is complicated, I'm not speaking in terms of injury, it's difficult to really gage where she's at because she's been struggled coming back, but if she does stay, we can't keep playing her as a 10/midfielder whatever, if she wants to play there, fine, but she can do it somewhere else. We need her as the 9, we've seen what she can do when she's up front, and that's what we need from her.

We have the most big chances missed in the league (40) Our players have gone from free scoring, to not being able to even hit a barn door, we're always taking that extra touch too much, that extra second, when we never used to do that before. In the WSL this season, we've taken a total of 304 shots, we've scored 46 goals this season. Questions need to be asked of what Kelly Smith is telling the players in training, we are hesitent to shoot, our frontline still wouldn't be able to score if the opposition had no keeper in the net.

We also need to look at our corner convertion rate, we've generated 178, 1 7 8, corner kicks this season, we've scored ONE. We've scored once from a corner all season out of 178, when Amanda scored against chelsea. Goals make games, and we are struggling to get them from anywhere.

When we were knocked out of the Champions League on penalties in the qualifying stage, the fans were looking forward to all our focus being on winning the league. At the start of last season, we looked strong, we were on the longest WSL winstreak ever, this season started out unconvincing, obviously we still had injured players coming back, scheduling players didn't get a proper break, but an opening day defeat against Liverpool, winning at the last minute against Manchester United, Aston Villa and Bristol, both of who were battling for last spot for the first half of the season, isn't good enough.

Our biggest struggles come from teams who play a lowblock, Jonas does not know how to get around this, his solution is to play from the wings and ping crosses into the box, which didn't work against Liverpool, West Ham or Spurs, and these are the games that lost us contention for the league. When Joe Montemurro was the coach, we didn't win big games, we didn't win against chelsea once, now we do win the big games, but the league is decided by fine margins, if we don't win our smaller games, those big wins won't help us.

It's a struggle to look at our backline as a cohesive unit, as it's been so inconsistent, our CB pairings aren't the same 2 games in a row, like Leah and Rafa (come back please) were last season. Lotte has been fantastic, she's really stepped up, Katie had a good first half of the season, she's dropped off a bit now but is still solid, Steph has been good, Emily Fox has been great, one of our best signings this season. For the games she's had, Leah has been outstanding, the game against Man City comes to mind, Leah's passing is out of this world, getting a assist on her comeback just demonstrated how much we lose when we don't have her. I think next season when she plays more, we'll see more cohesiveness, but Lotte and Leah should NOT be our CB pair, their playing styles are almost identical, individually they're great but together they're not.

I think it's time to realise the fact that we need a rebuild. The club has no vision, no project, we haven't won anything of value for 5 years. We need to start scouting better players, when Jonas looks away from Scandanavian countries, he, 7/10, makes a decent signing. We have a solid core of players that we can build around, Leah, Veen, Katie, Wally, Kim, although I do think we may start seeing her playtime decrease soon, Pelova, Viv (if she stays) Alessia, as a 9 or 10, I don't mind where she plays. Add a few good signings, world class players, and we can catch Chelsea in their transitional period.

If Viv leaves, we're gonna need a new striker, I love Stina but she can't be our number 1. We have the chance to catch up to Chelsea, and I think Man City are only going to grow, especially if they win the WSL this season.

I don't think this season has been very successful, but I don't think we've been successful for a while, and we know that.

Oh it was such a good day for ponies!

When I turned the corner of the aisle and saw the nose of that big G3 poke out on the shelf, I could barely contain my excitement.

I've wanted one for a long time but ordering online was always too expensive because of shipping.

I also saw a bratz horse + barbie rapunzel's unicorn. I wish I had my phone with me because clearly some horse girl outgrew her collection. Huge selection of horses from a lot of different brands!

and there were TWO hi glamm girls WITH INTACT KNEES. I was tempted but I'm trying to be more selective with my collection and I never did anything with my previous hi glamm doll.

can't pass up Bratz though! We got a baby Cloe with passion4fashiom Yasmin top (which I was missing) and sun kissed Dana with unfortunately very damaged hair.

a lot of stuff here came in mixed bags so I'll donating a lot of them back. I've done a basic cleaning and if I'm feeling brave I'll detangle some hair so they can be ready for play for the next person who gets them.

finally home from the emirates and tbh the more i think about it the more i think the fault is 100% on jonas and the tactics today. the girls were far from great but i didn’t think they were terrible either (need to watch the goal back because from where i was it looked pretty saveable 🤡 ) but the tactics and the formation were all over the place. lacasse was unreal every time she was on the ball but playing as a wing back didn’t suit her at all, imo we should’ve moved mccabe to right back and pushed cloe up further. and let’s not talk about that back 3 because fair enough trying it out in the first half with what limited resources we have - assuming that codina is still being given time to settle and get used to the team - but why the hell did we not switch to a back 4 in the second half when it was clearly not working? also think we desperately need viv back not just because she’s viv but because we need somebody to challenge frida for that 10 spot because she was basically invisible all game

things i did like: caitlin had a great first half, thought lessi had a solid game and was making the right movements, kim had moments of brilliance, and kcc and vic both looked pretty sharp when they came on

Match Review: Manchester United Women 2-2 Arsenal Women

A tasty home fixture for United, hosting rivals Arsenal and THE BETRAYER Alessia Russo 😂 (I'm joking, relax)

Social media outrage at United fans booing Lessi has been a bit silly. She went to a rival team, that's fine for us to boo. I - and I'm sure many others - still rate her as a top player. There's a balance between the pantomime of football rivalry (good) and abuse (bad). We'll allow the former and condemn the latter, but lets not get all prissy about being too similar to the men's game when most of the criticism of women's football is that there's a lack of passion or investment. This is fans invested, seeing someone they backed now against them.

And breathe. Drama aside it was a fairly even match at Leigh Sports Village, though realistically Arsenal will perhaps feel a little aggrieved not to come away with the three points given the chances they had.

Blundell and George, the full backs, did seem to be targeted by Aston Villa and it's no surprise that Arsenal would do the same. Ona Batlle's RB spot is a tough vacancy to fill, and Gabby George will need time to settle in after returning to United from Everton. Thankfully for them, the CB pairing of Millie Turner and Maya Le Tissier (above) is top draw, and with Mary Earps in net behind them they can be confident of getting help should they make a mistake.

Mistakes do happen though, and Blundell was punished on the flank as Arsenal bagged their first through Blackstenius. Galton (thankfully recovered from a knock at Villa) capitalised on a mistake by D'Angelo to even the first half out, and the United front three of Galton, Geyse and Garcia is going to be a big threat to teams this season, but so might Lyon loanee Melvine Malard. Her incredible acceleration lost her marker late on and saw her dart into the box to poke home a cheeky finish. United then went and conceded a worldie from Cloe Lacasse in the dying minutes. Damn.

The match stats confirm it was a fairly even game. United edged possession with 53%, but only earned 3 corners to Arsenal's 6. The Gunners had 17 shots to United's 9, though both sides managed 4 shots on target - a degree of wastefulness that Arsenal coach Jonas Eidevall will likely want to resolve quickly.

United also committed more fouls - 7 to Arsenal's 4 - and that's perhaps indicative of the slightly better technical base Arsenal have. There's a reason they regularly vie with Chelsea for titles, and they looked strong even with a few absences through injury. Katie Zelem and Hannah Blundell seemed to struggle with the pace and passing of Arsenal, but we'll see if that's to be a longer term problem.

Truthfully, 4 points from our first 2 games is a good return for a team that wants to be competitive at home and in the Champions League. A weakened Arsenal is still tough. Villa away is tough. I'm not going to get giddy and predict a title or a trophy, but if we can keep this form up then we'll be in the mix, and it's staying that competitive that gives you a shot at the silverware.

Paperwork is a bigger presence on Cloe’s life after becoming a senator than she had expected. A pile on the corner of her desk that grew bigger the longer she ignored it, and at some point she had to stop ignoring it. It is one of those points, when she had stopped pretending the pile wasn’t hers to complete and she has spent hours working on them, only to feel like she has barely chipped on the pile. Barely done anything despite her best efforts. An apt metaphor for her current life, but one she desperately holds back because she doesn’t want to think about it. A sigh is leaving her lips as she finishes another document, when she senses a presence she has long grown intimately familiar with. Her throat suddenly feels too dry as she swallows back her nerves and taps the back of her pen against her desk, half-hoping Komos doesn’t visit her and half-desperate that he does. Carefully, she sets the paperwork aside, shoulders tensing as the presence gets closer. Funnily enough, as soon as he opens the door, the tension leaves her shoulders, a burst of warmth on her chest as he sees his face after a while.

“Well, this is a surprise. Are you ready to accept that I was right and won our last debate?” She rather call them debate than arguments, but they are both and neither at the same time.

There’s a weird kinship there between the two, there was a lot they hadn’t gotten to talk about. Kay’d gone his whole life being told he was unique and it’d been twisted in such a way that it almost made him sick to hear anyone say it. Special enough to be kept indoors and out of everyone’s hair at all times, that’s what growing up had been like. Now he was arguably always outdoors and in everyone’s hair at all times to combat it. So he gets why they’ve been kept apart, Gabriel is sweet while he can’t go ten minutes without some sarcastic quip and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. It’s weird to have people in the house that aren’t Cloe and to be sitting kitty corner to the other dhampir on his sectional in the living room, cup of coffee in one hand and cigarette in the other, it doesn’t quite feel real. It doesn’t help that he’s running on maybe two hours of sleep and coming down from an edible, but still. It was a wonder Gabriel was alive at all, he’d had nightmares about getting the news that he was gone for good after they’d gotten the report that he was missing. Which meant there was a lot to talk about and yet he wants to shove all of that aside not just to spare the other the trauma, but because despite being exhausted, he is actually excited to meet someone else like him, there’s a lot they can learn from one another. “Kind of thought we’d never get to do this.”

Ok so I don't actually have anything I feel like talking about doll wise atm, I prefer making one off posts here n there about the dolls I'm into on twt more than tumblr cause I feel like twt is better suited for one off thoughts while tumblr is better suited for dedicated n thought out posts, at least with how I use it. Which is why you see a lot more wips/shitposts from me on twt than tumblr. so instead I'll just show yall my current collection!!! ANYWAY long ass post time

I've been working on finding and filling out various release lines from different doll brands im fixated on and have been rearranging my collection set up a lot cause of it lol. My shit is scattered all around my room because of how me and my little brother have divided up space for us to display both of our separate collections of things (we are both autistic and insane about our special interests) so there's gonna be a lot of photos lol

TO BEGIN: here's my display case of all my old g1 Monster High dolls I managed to hold onto since I was a kid! I got all of these back when MH initially debuted (when I was around 8 or 9) and all of these dolls have survived through my childhood/teenage years, hence why they're not in super great shape unfortunately lol

the only exceptions to this being the Día de Muertos Howliday Skelita, since obvs that's a recent release, as well as the misc. dolls I have scattered around the top of the case, those are dolls that s0uless has gifted to me over the past 2 years teehee

Moving on, to my current collection of dolls I began purchasing for myself over the past year: starting with this set of shelves next to my bed! I'm mainly using this as my Bratz shelf, but I ran out of room to fit my Skultimate Secrets Fearidescent Dolls where I usually keep my Monster High dolls, so they're there for now.

I only have Jade's reproduction doll because when the Bratz reproductions first began releasing, I was being strict with myself about not indulging in dolls again so I only let myself get Jade since shes my fav. Which I'm sad about, cause I'd love to have all the girls together for both their 20th anniversary reproduction dolls and their Alwayz dolls together. Also, there's a spot left empty next to my Alwayz Cloe bc I have Not been able to find Alwayz Sasha in stores like ANYWHERE for the past 2 months, so I gave up and ordered her online. She'll be arriving here in a couple days!!

Next up is this series of shelves above my dresser that I mainly use to display misc. figures n other shit I've come to own since I was like 12 (you can tell bc of the MHA stuff lmao) but I recently cleared some space so I could fit my Skultimate Secrets Series 1 Dolls (and Spa Day Lagoona + Scare-adise Frankie and Draculaura) somewhere, as well as having a place to display my current set of LOL OMG dolls! And also Bank art doll cameo lmao

Then we have the top shelf of my desk, which mostly has various Knicks knacks compacted into a corner but I put my two LOL OMG Tweens together there, as well as my single Licca doll that s0uless got me for this past christmas and the custom doll they made of my sona for me! <3

(fun fact me and s0uless are currently in the process of making more custom dolls of Eb, Bank, and the triplets but you'll have to wait n see on that one hehe)
