Match Review: Manchester United Women 1-1 Arsenal Women
Well done, Skinner. You woke Arsenal back up. For fuck sake.
Tumblr media
Arsenal with Jonas were shit. Arsenal post-Jonas have looked a little lost. You always step up against bigger opposition due to the fear of getting humbled, but Arsenal looked really sharp today.
Their passing was better, more inventive, of greater accuracy. Their movement was sharper, their duelling was better timed and more productive.
Their diligence and quality was rewarded with a goal by no other than ex-United forward Alessia Russo, with a cute finish that surprised Phallon Tullis-Joyce to give Arsenal the lead in the 63rd minute.
Tumblr media
PTJ did have a very good game though, as did Maya Le Tissier and Millie Turner at CB. Gabby George and Aoife Mannion were solid enough, but United did look better with sub Jayde Riviere on.
Janssen was assured as ever in CDM, whilst Lisa Naalsund was a little off-the-boil today. Simi Awujo was an upgrade at half time when Naalsund went off injured, but it begged the question why no start when Arsenal are known for being a little more athletic and pressing than United. The same can be said for the usage or lack of re: Hayley Ladd - another solid DM.
Tumblr media
United's issue was in attack though. Celin Bizet looked sharp and had a lot of the ball, but that made her an obvious double-up target and limited her impact. Grace Clinton was wasteful in CAM but also keenly pressed, and Ella Toone ineffective at LW.
A second-half positional swap for the two didn't achieve a lot, but the subs of Malard for Toone, Geyse for Bizet, and Williams for Terland did. Good decisions. Skinner isn't entirely useless, and Malard/Geyse were exceptional from when they came on. Very active, driving at Arsenal with intent... it was nice to see the fear flipped.
The problem is that things like Malard on the left... they're obvious. She's far more comfortable on the left, like the injured Leah Galton, than Toone/Clinton. This comfort makes a player a threat, and that makes Arsenal respect the player and press them. That buys others time and space. Clinton and Bizet are in great form, yet today they looked tame.
Based on the Arsenal press, it was incredibly stupid not to utilise Hinata Miyazawa also. Personally I'd have started her over Tooney, who I feel has been okay but not great, and given her recent bereavement... I get wanting to play and to keep busy, but form comes first. Miyazawa has looked great whenever she has featured this season. We cannot waste her like Irene Guerrero, and she's INCREDIBLY PRESS-RESISTANT. Handy versus notorious pressers Arsenal...
All of the above also limited the impact of Elisabeth Terland too, but luckily we have the guile of Rachel Williams on the bench, and the central preference of Melvine Malard that helps her be a double threat from LW and going beyond Rach.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Millie, she won both the Player of the Match award for her stoic defending and was given a commemorative shirt for her 150th United appearance - seen here with partner Lisa Naalsund and the rest of her family.
Both teams will feel hard done by with just a point, but oh well. Better than a defeat.
Next up is a lovely 6:45pm SUNDAY fixture against Aston Villa at the LSV. A very winnable game, but wtf is that timing? Ew.

What about a part to of for the better please? With Lovies reaction to Less scoring against united (and when Leah was shoved into the dug out👀🤣) from todays game ❤️
THE GREATEST — alessia russo x child!reader
honestly never wrote a fic so quick but i loved this request thought it was so cute☺️
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
grumpy masterlist
it was that time of the season, again. arsenal come against manchester united on manchester soil. alessia wasn’t as bothered this time around, her departure from the reds was buried and wasn’t as fresh and raw as it had been this time last year.
still, it brought some unwanted feelings coming up against her old club especially one she started her professional career at.
you on the other hand, since learning it was time for team to make the long journey up north and back to leigh sport village you had a frown plastered across your face.
you used to love being and watching your mummy play at leigh sports village but now you liked your new home in north london. you didn’t dislike manchester by any means especially since you sometimes made the journey with your mummy to see your auntie ella which was one of the few good things about manchester.
“so what’s so awful about manchester, that’s got you frowning like that tiny?” emily asked with a playful smile as she was sat opposite you on the team bus having been playing card with your mummy while you sat watching a frown plastered across your lips getting deeper and deeper as the bus made its way up the road.
“manchester is mean.” you said bluntly as a small chuckle came from your mummy who was sitting beside you as she took a sip of her water.
“you liked it there, when we lived there?” your mummy pointed out as you only hummed crossing your arms across your chest — well tried to. alessia trying to also figure out what and why you were in such a strop about going up to manchester for.
“you used to tell me all about your life in manchester on facetime, and how much you loved it” emily said as she recounted some of the memories of when her and less would facetime and you would babble about your days in manchester long before the american moved to north london.
“yep but that not home anymore, manchester is mean” you mumbled sliding down the chair as you huffed, a small look of realisation flashing across alessia’s face as to why you were in such a strop.
“oh lovie the fans have gotten over that now” alessia assured you as she side hugged you, you sighed not knowing whether to believe what your mummy was telling you or not.
“still” you grumbled as alessia shook her head playfully as emily grinned at your innocence as you went back to watched your show now that you were cuddled into the side of your mummy.
“she’s so dramatic-“
-
finally, the game had rolled around after it feeling like you’d been in manchester for days not when really it had been less than twenty four hours. walking by your mummy’s side as she wheeled her small suitcase in, a backpack most likely filled with more of your things in than your mums which hung from her shoulder.
people stood at the entrance, shouting and screaming the players which walked past as some shouted your name as you walked past with your mum, you giving the odd shy wave before walking into the stadium.
“lovie- where are you- oh” alessia called out as she felt you let go of her hand, your small steps could be heard as you rushed over and jumped into the arms of a very familiar face, one you’d just said goodbye to a couple a days ago from england camp.
“tooney!” you cheered as she spun you around a big grin on the united players’ face. “i’ve missed you, tiny” ella smiled as she stopped still, players walking past saying a small hi either to you or tooney.
you furrowed your brow, “i seen you two days ago though?” you said as a small giggled left ella’s lips as she realised you hadn’t understood what she meant.
“am i not allowed to miss my favourite russo!” ella quipped back as she tickled under your chin making you squirm in her arms as alessia caught up with you, stopping mere metres away from ella as she side hugged the manchester united player.
“i missed you too auntie ella” you admitted lowly, as you hugged her tight. ella rubbing your back as a soft smile came across alessia’s face. yours and ella’s bond being one of the best kind, so cute and pure and alessia loved it.
“and anyways missus i thought you said you would wear your united shirt for me today!” ella gasped as she replayed the conversation the two got of you had on england camp, you telling ella the next game you watched her play in you would wear your old united shirt — which would definitely and most likely be too small for you.
you shook your head with a firm hum, “north london forever!” you grinned tapping the badge which was displayed on your chest. it drawing a few chuckles from both alessia and ella.
“you’ve changed your tune!” ella joked but she knew since the move how much you’d fell in love with arsenal and north london. but manchester would always be somewhere in your heart.
“well i suppose it’s better than being a blue” ella shrugged as she laughed at her own little joke before saying her goodbyes, kissing your forehead and letting you back down on the ground. yours waving goodbye to ella as she promised she’d find you after the game.
you holding back onto your mummy’s hand as she led you into the away changing room. in your mind this was the worst part of game day, the waiting around for the game to actually start as you always wondered why they needed two whole hours to get ready.
but nevertheless you waited making your own entertainment along the way, walking with steph and kyra as they went out onto the pitch. your mummy opting on going to get treatment just before the warm ups.
joking on a little as you ran up and down the touchline as they warmed up before having a very serious conversation with fred the red as he danced around and waved at the fans in the stands. the mascot you used to love.
but then it was time for the team to go back into the changing room as you scared beth as she came rushing off the pitch, small giggles coming from you as she chased you back inside.
as you sat back down on the bench, coming down from your high energy state. catching your breath from all the running around you’d done, you’d think you had just ran around for ninety minutes.
your mummy was fixing up her hair as you watched fondly, “mummy?”
“yes baby” your mummy cooed as she tied the bobble into her hair before kneeling down so she could hear you among the loud chatter and the music which was booming through the speakers.
“what happen if you score today?” you asked as it had been on your mind the past day or two, you wondering if the goal would count towards united or arsenal. your brain getting a little confused.
alessia’s brow furrowed, not quite getting what you meant, “what do you mean by that lovie?”
“well cause you played for united will it be their goal” you asked your tone laced with confusion as alessia’s brow softened as she realised what you now meant.
your mummy firmly shaking her head as her hands rested on your knees as you sat on the bench, “no lovie, it’ll be an arsenal goal cause that’s who i play for now” your mummy explained as she pointed to the jersey you were wearing as you nodded along as your mummy continued her explanation using her when she scored for england as an example.
you hummed in realisation as you brain now made sense of your doubts, “will you score today?” you asked as alessia laughed a little shrugging her shoulders — she wishes she could see the future.
“i’ll try score just for you, prove the booing wrong ay?” your mummy grinned as she tapped your knees feeling you tense up at the mention of the booing knowing italy you experience some pretty big feelings the last time. but your mummy was quick to reassure you before placing a soft kiss on the top of your head as she stood back up.
the exciting part of the day had finally arrived where you could watch the match, one you’d been excited for the build up but not the actually match itself. this time though you found yourself sat with kyra instead of leah, that and the fact leah was back on the pitch playing again.
sat in the dugout, a blanket over your legs which kyra had given you as your arsenal jersey was now covered with a hoodie your mummy had insisted on you wearing much to your complaints that you didn’t need it.
but as always your mummy won the argument as the moment you came from the warmth of the changing room you were complaining that you were cold, so your mummy quickly got your hoodie placing over your head and sliding it down so it sat perfectly in you.
so instead you had to settle for the arsenal scarf around your neck all with white and red letters of arsenal plastered across it as you way of showing your support for the team.
the first half you can’t lie was a little boring, no goals being scored but your mummy did come close a few times. after he first attempt in the 12’ minute you tapped kyra on the shoulder, the australian peeling her eyes away from the pitch to listen to you.
“my mummy said she was gonna score to today!” you proudly smiled as kyra nodded along agreeing, “well it is looking likely tiny!”
but it was very likely to happen in the first half as it ended still with neither team scoring so when the team finally came out for the second half, you were a little more eager to watch. hoping the goal from your mummy was coming.
so in the 63’ minute when mariona played the lovely pass to emily who crossed it to alessia, you were on your feet in seconds when you seen the net bulge. your mummy didn’t celebrate with her aeroplane arms like she usually did instead a small yes slipped from her lips as she pointed over to the dugout, mainly to you before all the girls engulfed her in a group hug and head taps.
that was your mummy’s last action of the day as she was subbed off shortly after, kyra having been subbed on in place with the other girls who came off.
alessia getting her jacket and wrapping it around her arms to shield herself from the manchester coldness as she made a beeline to sit next to you in the dugout. you launching yourself to her the moment she was close.
your mummy wrapping you in a hug as you explained your view of the goal and your excitement fueling through your small limbs as your arms flung around explains it.
“t’was all for you, lovie” your mummy whispered against your hair as she placed a gentle kiss on-top of your head you hugged your mum tightly as your eyes wondered back to the pitch.
the game unfortunately after alessia’s goal wasn’t over, far from it actually, manchester united threw on some subs and were looking likely to score.
alessia glanced up to the clock as you sat on her lap, watching intently. your fingers in your mouth something you did when you were concentrating on something.
rachel williams had made a breakthrough as leah ran to catch her except, leah got a shove in the shoulder knocking her to the ground and quite literally off the pitch as she rolled and hit the dugout.
you not seeing the initial shove as you were too busy looking at the fans who were shouting and yelling their chants you trying to decipher the words. so when you seen leah on the ground, lying on her back you let out a loud laugh.
“le!” you called out as leah stood to her feet waving at you as she mouthed to alessia that she was okay, “your supposed to be playing football not having a nap!” you yelled after as leah was looking over her shoulder walking gingerly back to the sideline as the medical team crowded around her.
a small gasp coming from your mummy as she bumped your shoulder giving you a stern look for your cheekiness as leah just laughs at your cheeky comment running back onto the pitch.
the match ended not in the way you wanted which kind of damped the mood but nevertheless, you were able to run about a little as your mummy was off signing things.
“le!” you called out as you ran after leah as she was walking away from some fans, your mummy watching you intently as she spoke to some fans, busy signing shirts, books and phone cases.
“you okay, tiny?” leah smiled as you ran into her arms, leah throwing you up in the air and catching you making you squeal as she did, falling back into her arms giggling.
“are you okay after your fall?” you asked, your mummy after you cheeky comment filled you in on the fact leah hadn’t gone for a nap mid game like you thought but instead had been nudged over, you feeling slightly bad about your comment.
“course i am, just a little graze!” leah waved it off as you let out a sigh of relief, “next time i’ll just have to stay on my two feet” leah joked as you nodded.
“cause you spend too much time with mummy as she really clumsy!” you so innocently said as a laugh rippled through leah, you not being in the slightest bit wrong. as alessia could trip over thin air and still land on the floor.
“is that so?” leah questioned as you nodded proudly, totally forgetting that you yourself was also born with two left feet as like your mum you also found your self tripping over thin air.
leah just laughed at your response as she watched ella walk over to the two of you.
“leah do you think i can convince less to let tiny stay with me, we have a movie night in the books which is planned for tonight sharpish!” ella smiled as you nodded along, this being something you had planned during england camp but had yet been able to convince your mummy of — as a result of alessia not being any of the wiser of said movie night.
“um i dunno know you’ll have the ask the boss lady herself” leah shrugged as you wriggled out of her hold, tugging on ella’s hand as she tried to pull you in the opposite direction of your mummy.
“c’mon tooney, my mummy’s this way!”

Won us the World Cup
Alessia Russo x Williamson!Reader
summary~ Leah couldn’t attend the World Cup so you had to take the Williamson name to the tournament. When you arrive in Australia and get roomed with Russo you thought you were just unlucky. Rooming with the blonde wouldn’t be a problem if there were two beds instead of one.
!warnings! smut
Tumblr media
Being Leah’s younger sister, you were destined to be a footballer. You wanted nothing more than to follow in your sisters footsteps, carrying the Williamson legacy further. Leah did her thing as a defender and the captain of England. You did your thing as a midfielder and Captain of the Under 23 of England.
You got scouted when you were about twelve when Arsenal found out that there were two Williamson’s. Arsenal had been your dream club, hearing Leah talk about the staff and team only made you want to work harder to get where she got.
When you finally got to play for the senior team you were so nervous. How could you ever meet the standards your sister set. Leah always said that you shouldn’t compare, her being a defender and you being a midfielder plus you were years younger.
It was an away game, Manchester United against Arsenal at Leigh Sports Village. Playing against United was always hard. Their defence was good and the Toone x Russo link-up was golden.
Jonas wanted to try something different, he was sure it would work since Beth, Viv and Kim were out for the season. He wanted Leah as a central midfielder. It wasn’t necessarily a bad decision, it was just a bit odd. Leah had always played as a defender but this was an attacking game.
You knew you couldn’t expect much. There was even a chance that you wouldn’t make your debut today but that was okay if it meant that you could get those three points.
The warming up went smoothly. You were doing passing exercises with Leah, who was talking you through the game. It helped with your nerves. It had always been like this, you didn’t really like to talk before games so you opted to listen to your sister and the tactics. Even when you were away for the England games you would call her before a game. She gave you a peptalk and ended with ‘i know you can do it y/n, you’re a Williamson, we thrive under pressure’ like she always did.
The game started and you had a bad feeling. Normally the stress and anxiety would fade away once the game had started but this time it kept blooming in your stomach.
It was the fifteenth minute when Leah fell onto the ground, screaming in pain and her clenched fist hit the ground. She was holding her leg with her other hand. The medics ran their way onto the field.
She wasn’t getting up and that’s when you knew it was bad, Leah always got up. Jonas was yelling at you to warm up and get ready to take Leah’s place.
This isn’t how you wanted to make your debut. You wanted to play with tour sister, not instead of.
Leah limped off the field with assistance of the medics. You could only stare at her with glassy eyes. She placed her hand on your shoulder and whispered “Go do you and impress everyone.”.
You jogged onto the field, taking the central midfielder place.
The game was rough and physical. They really wanted to win and you could feel that. There was a certain blonde striker who was making the game very difficult for you. In the extra time of the first half she even managed to score a goal for the home side.
The second half was even more physical than the first. The yellow cards were flying like the referee was Rebecca Welch, probably a Rebecca wanna be.
When the fulltime whistle blew you didn’t think of the loss, the only thought was Leah. Leah who was seriously injured. Leah who was crying when she limped off the field.
You ran towards the changing room but stopped when the United striker grabbed you by your shirt. You looked at her with a confused expression on your face, why wasn’t she saying anything. “What do you want? I need to get to Leah.” you told her, sounding a bit more annoyed than you intended to. “Uh yeah sorry, i just wanted to say that you played good.. Can you send my best wishes to Leah please?” she frowned.
You nodded and ran to find Leah. When you walked into the physio room she was laying on the bed. With puffy eyes and red cheeks she gave you one of her sad upside down smiles. You knew what it meant, you didn’t have to ask. You saw Beth and Viv do theirs, Leah had just tore her ACL.
You laid down beside her, your head resting on her shoulder. Leah, they won. I’m sorry.” you whispered. She took a deep breath “I know.” she replied. The both of you stayed like that for a bit before the whole team came walking in.
A few days later the doctors confirmed what you all suspected, Leah had done her ACL and would miss the World Cup.
You tried not to focus on the World cup. Viv wouldn’t play, Beth wouldn’t play and Leah wouldn’t play. Leah tried to hype you up for the whole World Cup thing saying things like ‘Maybe you’ll even get to play, then there’ll atleast be one Williamson playing’ you shrugged her off, not wanting to think about it. If you even thought about this tiny chance your hopes would get crushed.
It was when you got a call from an anonymous phone number that you got a bit confused. You didn’t really read any of the emails you got from England since you’d probably be let down. Leah asked who was calling and you shrugged. “Y/n, pick up!” she yelled from the kitchen.
You did eventually pick up and were met with the voice of Sarina Wiegman. “Hey, i’m speaking with y/n Williamson. Right?” you were too stunned to speak and looked at your sister who was holding up her phone, filming like a proud mom. “.. uhh yeah, yeah this is y/n.” you finally spoke. “Well y/n, i’ve got good news. I’ve watched you play, for Arsenal and the England Under 23’s. You’ve had quite the season. So i just wanted to let you know that you’ve been selected for the World Cup squad.” she continued.
You looked at Leah with wide eyes, she was smiling at you and reminded you to reply. “T-thanks Mrs. Wiegman.” you thanked her. She wished you a good weekend and hung up.
Leah had always been the better one with words. She was the perfect captain, she could always say just the thing you needed to hear. And she did just that while you were stuck on the couch. “Fucking hell kid, you’re going to a World Cup. I know you’re gonna do the Williamson name proud.” she hugged you.
You hadn’t cried in a long time, not even when Leah had done her ACL. You didn’t really like to show anyone when you were hurt or just emotional. But now you couldn’t help but shed a tear. The Williamson’s are still going to the World Cup.
Lotte and you arrived at St. George’s park, apparently the first ones. You didn’t really know anyone that well so o it was relieving you didn’t have to walk into a full hall. You knew that you were the youngest with your twenty years but you were not aware of the height difference between you and the other girls.
Lotte was already tall but Millie Bright was a fucking wall. It soothed you a bit when mini Jordan Nobbs came walking in, not only did you know her but she was also just a bit shorter than you.
Just when you thought everyone had arrived two other girls came walking in. Ella Toone, who you knew from her goal in the Euros and that blonde striker, Alessia Russo. The one that wanted to talk to you after that horrible game.
You didn’t hate her. You quite admire her off the field. She seems like a sweet person but that goal and that loss really kept you from liking her. Alessia had followed you right after the game so you followed her back… a few days later, just because you’re too stubborn for your own sake.
You made eye contact but broke it almost immediately, walking over to little Jordan to bully her a bit more about her height.
It wasn’t long before Georgia and Keira had found you. G came over sprinting towards you screaming like she hadn’t seen you in years. “oh my god! You’re here! Tiny Williamson getting big!” she hugged you. Keira joined the grouphug and you couldn’t help but smile up at them. You knew that Leah not being there was hard for them so you wanted to do everything to make them feel a better.
The weeks before going to Australia were perfect. You could really prove yourself at the trainings and you got to bond with the group, most of the group. You played table tennis with Hempo, Niamh and Lucy. Made tiktoks with Millie, Rach and tiktok queen Mary ofcourse. Watched movies with G, Keira, Chlo and Tooney. You thought Toone and Russo were inseparable but everytime you were talking to Ella, Alessia was nowhere to be found.
It was when you got on your flight to Australia that you interacted with the blonde. You were seated next to eachother, you didn’t really mind since you got the window seat.
Alessia walked over to her seat and saw you. She said a quick hi and sat down, putting her headphones on immediately.
You were flying for about three hours when you felt something heavy on your shoulder. Alessia fell asleep on you. You couldn’t really move now, could you. She was quite cute when she was asleep, when she was awake too but nobody needed to know that you thought that.
It wasn’t much later that you fell asleep too, on Alessia.

You woke up to a blushing Alessia looking at her phone. You wiped the sleep out of your eyes and peeked at her phonescreen. Fucking Tooney posted the two of you on her story.
Alessia didn’t want to make it awkward so she tried to make conversation. Everyone knew you weren’t really a talkative person, you liked listening and that’s what you’ve always done. But with Alessia it was different. Even though you mostly listened, the conversation was still two sided. She talked about her family, how she got into football and that game.
“I didn’t know what happened to Leah until i saw it on the news. I’m really sorry y/n but you’ll make her proud. You’re a really good player.” she told you and you just smiled at that. She was really sweet.
The rest of the twenty hours went by quickly. Alessia talked you through it and you let her listen to your music. She eventually convinced you to listen to her country music, it wasn’t for you but it made her happy so you’d listen to it with her.
When you arrived at the hotel where you’d stay for the tournament the rooms got divided. G got roomed with Kei, tiny Nobbs with big Bronze, brickwall Mills with Rach, Tooney with Mazza and you with Alessia.
You got quite on now so it wouldn’t be a problem right? The two of you carried your suitcases into your room only to realise there was only one fucking bed. Both you and the blonde stared at is for a while before one of you spoke up. “I can sleep on the couch.” you offered and tried looking for the non-existent couch. “Okay so.. there is no couch but i’ll take the floor.” you tried again.
Alessia looked at you and shook her head. “No, we’ll both be playing. Let’s just share the bed, no problem.” she told you.
Yeah, yeah.. no problem.
You got changed into your nightwear only to discover you didn’t pack your pyjamas. You didn’t think you’d need it since it was warm in Australia and at the Under 23’s you’d never had a roomie before.
So while Alessia was doing her skincare in the bathroom you got into bed, in your sportsbra and boxers.
The blue eyed women walked into the room with a silky pyjama set on. You read a book for a little while and Alessia was on her phone for a bit. She put her light out, signalling that she wanted to sleep so you did the same.
Hearing the little snores you knew she was asleep. Arms wrapped themselves around you. Alessia was a cuddly person, you knew that but you weren’t at all. You only hugged your sister from time to time and were forced into grouphugs from G, Kei and Leah.
You’d be lying if you said that you didn’t like it atleast a bit. It was comfortable, she was comfortable. When Alessia’s legs tangled into yours you were already gone, both of you sleeping peacefully.
Alessia woke up the next morning with her arms still around you and with one leg draped over your hip. She didn’t really want to move but she had to, it would be weird if you woke up to her holding you like that.
Alessia had had a little crush on you ever since that game. Tooney saw her looking at you with lovesick eyes and knew she had to help het bestie out. She followed you on Alessia’s phone when she saw her bestfriends stalking your instagram for the third time that day.
The tall women climed out of bed and started to get ready for breakfast. You woke up minutes after her, hearing the shower running and figuring out that your roomie was taking a shower.
Walking into the dinner room everyone was already seated. You looked at your options, there was a chair free next to Alessia and one next to Lucy. You walked over to Alessia and sat down. Tooney was telling everyone about her next YouTube video.
The next week flew by. You’d walked with Alessia, went out for a coffee with Alessia and shopped with …Alessia. You did pretty much everything with Alessia. You had asked her if Tooney minded that you were spending so much time with her but she said that Tooney had had enough time with her so it didn’t bother her.
It was the day before your first game. Alessia and you walked hand in and, wandering on the beach. You knew you weren’t going to play, Alessia was though. There was a hammock on the beach, one where the two of you would always sit after dinner and training. Both of you rested there for a bit, your head on her chest listening to her heartbeat.
“I quite like it like this, i don’t want to go back to rainy London.” you told her. You could feel and hear her laugh “I like Australia better too.”. You looked up at the blue eyed girl and spoke again “Alessia, you’re really nice you know… And quite comfortable too.”. She looked you in the eyes and kissed you on your lips.
Alessia didn’t know where all this confidence came from but she was happy she did because you kissed her back. When she took her lips off yours she whispered “Hmm, thank you baby.” you smiled up at her with lovesick eyes. She knew you could put up this though girl act around others but you secretly liked to be the little spoon and be called all those cheesy nicknames she gave you.

The two of you went to sleep like you did every night ever since the first one, cuddled up close to eachother.
You woke up the next morning with Alessia by your side. You had breakfast, went on a little walk and drove to the stadium.
The game went alright, a 1-0 win over Haiti.
The second game had the same outcome, against Denmark.
The third game went a lot better, Alessia scored the first goal in the 4th minute. Even though you hadn’t won yet it certainly felt like it. Your gir- best- friend? had just scored her debut World Cup goal.
Alessia walked off the pitch at halftime and you sprung on her. “Lessi you scored! You scored!” you yelled and she let out one of her adorable giggles. You got off her back and she gave you one of her amazing hugs.
The whole team was staring but that didn’t really matter, right?
When you got to your hotel again you kissed her, hard. She was a bit surprised but leaned in to kiss you back. When it got hard to breath you pulled away. Alessia looked at you like she was starved and started pulling your top off.
She looked so hot. Her hair was wet and in a bun and she was stood before you in only a sports bra and shorts. “Hmm, like the view baby?” she teased.
You kissed her again and she started unclipping your bra. The blonde kissed down your neck and let your bra fall to the floor. You couldn’t hold your moans in anymore when she started biting down your neck, leaving bruises everywhere. “Fuck Lessi, more please.” you begged her.
“Yeah, tell me what you want pretty girl.” she ordered lifting you up by your ass, one leg on either side of her hips. “Want you please.” you whimpered.
Alessia laid you down on your shared bed and took your shorts and boxers down in one motion. She looked up at you, her eyes a little darker now. Kissing down your stomach she ended just above your pussy. She ran her finger through your pussy and smirked. “So wet for me hmm. Such a good girl.” she took her finger into her mouth and moaned at your taste.
“Fuck Alessia, please.” you cried. Taking her finger out of her mouth she started licking your pussy. You whined when she stoped for a bit and you could feel her smirk. She teased you a bit more before sliding a finger in. “Look at you, taking it like a champ baby” she praised you. If she didn’t already know you had a praise kink she definitely did now.
She climbed on top of you again, kissing you and biting down your lip. You gasped in surprise and she took that chance to slide her tongue in. She put another finger in your pussy “Baby, you’re so fucking tight for me.” she whispered against your lips.
She pumped her fingers harder and harder, you felt yourself nearing the edge. “Lessi- Lessi i’m gonna cum.” you screamed. “That’s not how you ask. You’re a good girl, try again.” she frowned. “Please- Alessia please make me cum” you corrected.
She smirked and watched as you came. You’ve never seen her look so arrogant in your life. With a smug smile she spoke again “You enjoyed that baby?”. You rolled you eyes at her and was about to kiss her again when someone knocked at the door.
“We’re about to bake some cookies, see you in ten love birds!” Tooney yelled. You couldn’t help but blush at that, love birds. You knew you were in love, but was she? You’ve just fucked, she just gave you the best orgasm of your life so are you just fuck buddies or…
You got in your head again and Alessia kissed you out of it. “Hmm what’re you thinkin’ about pretty girl?” she asked you. “I don’t know, just zooming out i guess.” you lied.
Alessia knew you lied but she also knew that pressuring you into telling her wouldn’t work so she let it be “ ‘kay you can tell me everything you know that right.”. You hugged her and went into the bathroom to change into something more comfortable and… more suitable. You fixed your hair and made sure no sign of sex could be seen.
You did a good job, you thought, until you walked into the big kitchen and went over to Georgia who looked at your neck and back to your eyes. “Y/n, is that a hickey!” she screamed. You pulled your hood up and shook your head no. “Georgia, why’d you have to yell that man” you scolded her. Keira came walking over and took your hood off. “Oh my god, who gave you this hick- all these hickeys.” they started to inspect your whole neck.
You looked around only to find Alessia giggling with Tooney and sending you an evil wink across the room.
After the duo was done inspecting the damage you walked over to Alessia. “Why didn’t you warn me!” you whisper yelled. “It’s more fun this way babe.” she argued. You rolled your eyes and she started tickling you.
The evening ended with some good cookies and you even managed to watch a marvel movie without Tooney asking questions every minute.

Before you knew it England were in the World Cup Final. Lauren James and Ella Toone had both gotten a second yellow card in the game before so they couldn’t play the final. You knew how terrible Ella felt about it, Alessia told you how she felt like she disappointed everyone.
Even though this wasn’t good news it did mean that you had to start. You got to make your World Cup debut.
You were in the changing room when Leah called. “Leah i feel sick” you told her. “I’m gonna start Leah.” you said panicking. Leah had never heard you so stressed about a game. “Y/n, you’re gonna do good, just be yourself.” she told you.
“Listen, i just wanna tell you now okay. I’m dating Alessia, well i think we’re dating. I don’t actually know. She’s really nice and she’s beautiful and i think i love her. She even kissed me but i don’t know how to ask her.” you rambled to your sister. “Oh my god. Y/n this is really not the perfect timing. Tell her about how you feel after the game, i’m happy for you. I know you can do it y/n, you’re a Williamson, we thrive under pressure. Go on and bring it home.” she spoke. “I love you” you whispered and hung up.
The game was about to begin. There were a lot of Spain fans but even more England fans. This was it. This was the big final.
The whistle blew and the game started. The first half was intense. A few Spanish player had gotten a yellow. Mary had to really fight to keep a clean sheet but she did it.
The second half was pure pressure. There were dangerous tackles and unfair challenges but the referee didn’t give anyone an advantage.
It was the 88th minute when Keira made a good tackle and took the ball away from the opponent. She passed the ball onto Georgia who dribbled past two players on the left side of the field. You were free and Keira saw the opportunity to pass to you. The ball landed at your feet, you only had to get the ball to Alessia who had a perfect position in front of the goal. You gave her a through ball and she shot straight into the top bins.
You were fucking winning in the 90th minute of the World Cup final.
You looked around the field searching for someone to run to when you saw Alessia sprinting towards you. She picked you up “I fucking love you y/n!” she yelled. Before you could register what she had just confessed the whole team sprung on the both of you.
But the game wasn’t over yet. You still had to play five minutes of extra time. Spain made it hard, you had to foul a player in order to keep it 0-1.
When the final whistle blew you dropped to your knees. Alessia scored the winning goal and you assisted her. This couldn’t be real.
Alessia was searching for you. Tooney saw her looking around and hugged her “Go and get your girl Lessi.” she whispered and pointed towards you. Alessia gave her bestfriend a quick smile and made her way towards you.
“So pretty girl, made the winning assist huh.” you heard her say. You took you hands off you eyes and looked up at her. She was beaming down at you like you were the World Cup trophy yourself. Alessia took your hands in hers and pulled you in for a hug and a quick kiss on your cheek.
“Did you mean what you said?” you asked. Alessia didn’t answer. “I mean with the ‘i love you’ thing?” you clarified. You felt her chuckle “Yeah i meant it. I really love you babe, even more now that you’ve won us the World Cup.”. You knew that you hadn’t exactly won England the World Cup, the whole team did but it still felt special when she said it.
“I love you too Lessi.” you mumbled.
“Y/n.. i’m moving to Arsenal.” you heard her say. Speechless you hugged her harder. Both of you walked towards the stands, where your family was, where Leah was.
Alessia still had your hand in hers. You were looking for your sister when Alessia asked you something. “You wanna be my girlfriend?” she asked like it was the most normal question. “Uhh yeah Lessi, i’d love too actually yeah” you rambled.
You walked over to your sister who saw everything. “So, how’d it go?” Leah asked. “Well, don’t know if you’ve noticed but we won the World Cup.” you joked. Leah rolled her eyes “Yeah i can see that. I mean how did the Alessia thing go?”. You smiled from ear to ear “You mean my girlfriend who’s coming to Arsenal after the summer?”.
You spent the entire summer with Alessia by your side. You met her family and she met yours. It was quite perfect, she was perfect.

When Arsenal had officially announced the signing of Alessia you were happy. You’d spoken to Alessia about moving in and decided that that was the best thing for the two of you right now. Alessia was excited but nervous about the reactions to her transfer but it didn’t really matter anymore because it was the best decision, being with you.

The regular | Part 1 | Alessia Russo
Tumblr media
Pairing: Alessia Russo x Reader
Summary: Your cafe gains a new regular after Alessia's move to Arsenal.
Masterlist | Woso masterlist | words: 2.1k
Part 1 | Part 2
Over the past few months you gained a new regular at your cafe. You loved seeing familiar faces and having small conversations with these people that showed your business love over and over again. You had recognized this new customer instantly as you are an avid watcher of women’s soccer, it was none other than Alessia Russo. When she first came into your shop, you greeted her with a smile, “Goodmorning, what can I get for you today?” You greeted her like you greeted every customer, understanding that besides being a famous soccer player, she was also just a person looking for a morning coffee. She ordered and took a seat in one of the corner booths.
She had come in almost every morning for the next few weeks. You were slightly suspicious of what the Manchester United player was doing here in North London, but again you were not wanting to impose and let her live her life outside of fame. So, when you came across the announcement that Alessia had transferred to Arsenal, the pieces clicked. Though, of course you continued treating her like a regular customer, letting her enjoy her personal space.
You opened up the cafe for the day and got to work on setting out the freshly baked pastries. You had opened the door for some fresh air, while you cleaned off the tables you didn’t get to last night. At the sound of footsteps, you turn around, you were met with the smile of none other than the newest member of Arsenal herself. “Hi, good morning.” You greet her with a smile of your own. “Hi, sorry I know you’re not officially open yet but I was wondering if maybe I could get a coffee to go?” The girl had such an hopeful look in her eyes that you could hardly resist, not that you would have resisted in the first place. “Yeah, no worries, of course you can.” You knew Arsenal was playing Manchester United today at Leigh Sports Village, the home stadium of her old club, and the players' bus likely had to leave within 30 minutes.
She gives you her order and you start working on it. “Thank you so much,” She starts as you hand her the cup. “you’re a lifesaver. Your coffee is the only thing that keeps me going in the morning.” You laugh with her. “Any time, I hope you have a great morning!” As she pays for her drink she tells you to keep the change for getting her a coffee before opening, you try to refuse but she insists. “Thanks again. I hope you have a great day as well.” And with that she’s out the door again.
That night you watch the match from home, you’re incredibly shocked at how rude the Manchester United fans are towards Alessia, every time she touched the ball the crowd chanted all kinds of boo’s her way. You felt for the girl, this was no way to treat a person. When you heard the Arsenal fans chant ‘Lessi Russo we’ve got - Lessi Russo we’ve got’ you were proud of your team's efforts to make Alessia feel welcome, and hoped that she was able to focus on the positivity instead of the negativity.
It was a busy Saturday morning at the cafe, still each time you heard the little bell at the door ring, you looked up to see if it was Alessia but it hadn’t been her all morning. You went around the shop seeing if anyone wanted refills on their coffee as your coworker Mandy helped the people in line with their orders. It was only after the lunch rush that Alessia walked through the door. The usual smile plastered on her face was replaced with a tired looking frown, your heart sank. When you notice her slumping down into a seat without ordering, you decide to go ahead and make her regular order for her. You set the cup down in front of her. “On the house.” You tell her when she looks at you in question.
When a group of middle aged men wearing Manchester United jerseys walked in your eyes quickly shot to Alessia, she had her backs to them so she didn’t realize. You hoped these fans weren’t like the rude ones you saw on TV last night as you took their order. The group walked past Alessia’s table and sat down a couple tables over. They immediately started whispering to each other and pointing Alessia’s way. Alessia noticed the group and looked up, the men started laughing loudly when she made eye contact with them. You saw Alessia look back down at her coffee with a sad expression on her face. “Hey, Mandy, can you take over for a bit?” Mandy agreed instantly and you walked straight to Alessia’s table.
You stand with your back to the men, and send Alessia an apologetic look. “Hi miss, that private table in the back is ready for you. If you follow me, I’ll lead you to it.” Alessia nods, grabs her bag and follows your direction. You hold open the door to the back and lead her to your office. “I am so sorry for them, Alessia. Please take all the time you need here. I can kick the group out if you want.” Alessia shakes her head, “It’s okay, they didn’t do anything yet. Wait, you knew something happened without them doing something and you know my name.” A slight blush reached your cheeks, there was no more hiding the fact that you didn’t know who she was. “I, eh- yes, I didn’t say anything, but yes. I’m y/n, to keep the name part even.” Alessia takes a seat on the couch in your office, “You knew this whole time and didn’t say anything?” You shrug, “Yeah, I’m sorry, I figured you got recognized enough and deserved regular interactions too.” Alessia smiled for the first time since she walked in. “No, no, don’t apologize. It is refreshing, just being able to order my coffee and stuff, it’s one of the reasons I enjoy your shop so much.”
“You saw the game yesterday then?” Alessia questions, once again looking down. “Yes, I did. Those Manchester United fans were absolutely horrible and I am so sorry that they treated you so badly during the game. I think you played really well, Alessia, you didn’t deserve that, no person does.” After a deep sigh, Alessia says, “Yeah, they were.” You sit with her, “For what it’s worth, I’m very happy that you joined Arsenal.” Alessia’s smile grows again, “You’re a Gooner?” In response you just say, “Lessi Russo we’ve got.” and you both start laughing. Alessia looks around, now that she’s calmed down a bit she realizes where she is, “The owner won’t mind that I am in here?” You decide to joke with her as your first answer. “Yeah, I don’t think she will mind.” She searches your face, “Are you sure?” The corners of your mouth perk up, “Oh, very sure.” You can’t hold your laughter in anymore. “I feel like I am missing something.” Alessia says with a confused look on her face. “Okay, okay, I’m sorry. Alessia, I am the owner, and I do not mind that you're here.” She rolls her eyes and playfully hits your arm. You talk for a bit longer before Alessia says that she has an appointment to get to. “Can I get you a coffee to go real quick?” She nods, “Yeah, I’d love that.”
You head to the front to make her coffee to go and see that the men are still there. “Here you go. They’re still here, we have a back exit if you want to ignore their presence entirely?” Alessia thanks you and follows you to the back exit. “You should come to one of our upcoming games, if you’d like.” You smile at her, “Yeah, that sounds fun.” She points to your apron, “Can I borrow your notepad for a second?” You hand it to her and watch her write something down. “Here’s my number, text me and I’ll get you into whatever game you’d like.” And with that she’s out of the door. You look down to the number with a smile on your face. When you hear Mandy call out for your help you quickly drop the note on your desk and head back to the front. “Thank you for covering, Mandy, I appreciate it.” After work that day you texted Alessia, and made plans to come see them play against Aston Villa.
The next day was slow, one Sunday it was super busy, and the other it was quite the opposite. However, soon after that thought the quiet got interrupted by the bell ringing, within seconds the room filled with chatter, you looked up and saw Alessia welcome in a group of her fellow Arsenal players. She sends you a quick wave and follows her teammates, Katie, Beth, Viv, and Leah to a booth. It was just you today, so you headed their way to take their orders. “Hi ladies, what can I get for you?” Beth is the first to talk. “Hi, Alessia over here has told us all about you, and we wanted to come see for ourselves.” After a warning nudge by Viv, she adds, “Your cafe, of course. She said the coffee was amazing here.” You smile and take their orders. “All right, coming right up.” You say not noticing the warning glances Alessia sent the other girls.
You make each of their drinks and bring them to the booth. Katie gets your attention before you turn back to the counter. “I heard you were going to come see us play next week.” You smile at the group, “Oh yeah, I am. Alessia is going to get me a ticket. I’m very excited to see you all play live.” You engage in some more small talk with the girl before letting them enjoy their coffee. As soon as you turn your back on the group, the table starts pushing Alessia to go talk to you.
Alessia walks up to the counter, you smile at her when she greets you. “Hey, did I forget something?” You ask in return. “Oh no, I just wanted to see how you were doing today.” You were happy to see that she was back to her smiley self. “I’m doing good, it’s been slow today, so I was happy to see you walk in. How about you, how are you?” Alessia leans on the counter, standing in a more comfortable position. “I’m doing well, we just got back from practice and when the girls said they wanted to get some coffee together, I told them this was the perfect place.” “Well, thank you for the compliment, I really appreciate it.” Alessia turns around and walks back to the table but you see her teammates pushing her back towards you, you smile at the scene in front of you, but quickly hide it when Alessia comes back your way. “Actually, I did have a question.”
You noticed the woman in front of you getting nervous. “Okay, ask away.” Alessia plays with the rings on her fingers. “I was wondering if you had any plans for tonight.” You smile at her, butterflies start filling your stomach. “That depends on your next question.” You joke. She stops fidgeting with her rings and looks up to read the expression on your face, when she sees you’re smirking she knows that she can continue. “Would you like to get dinner tonight? With just me, not the whole team, though we could do that too if you’d like that more.” She starts rambling. “Yes, I would love to. It’s a date, just you and me.” You discuss some details before Alessia heads back to the table. You hear them cheering her on and smile to yourself.
Not long after more people enter the shop. You help everyone with their orders with a smile that won’t falter. Alessia joins in the small line of customers. “Hi.” You greet her. “Hey.” She says back, you both smile at each other and hold eye contact for a moment before Alessia continues. “Can I pay for the whole table?” You put in the amount for the table and she pays, again with a tip. “I’ll see you tonight.” She says before joining the rest of the girls, you wave at them when they walk out. The rest of the day flies by as you are looking forward to your date with Alessia.

You Promised

Leah Williamson x reader
To say you and your girlfriend played the same sport just at different levels was an understatement.
Leah played for Arsenal in the WSL and is Captain of the Lionesses on the international stage whereas you played for and Captained Newport Pagnell FC an East Midlands women’s regional football team.
Now you where proud to play for them every time you walked out onto the pitch it was like you had led out an army ready to battle for the next 90 minutes. Only it was a pitch in the back arse of no where and the changing rooms where prefabricated buildings and your subs bench wasn’t the most comfortable place to sit but you wouldn’t change it for the world this was your team.
Dating a world class football player who had captained the English women’s team to European champs meant that many people began to have opinions on her life and in turn yours, and most of the time it was about the different levels you both played at.
Both yourself and Leah grew up in Milton Keynes and although you where a life long Arsenal fan you hadn’t began playing till the later Leah’s of primary school, unlike Leah who had been playing at Arsenal since the age of 8. You had both met later in secondary school and a friendship soon blossomed, your parents would often find you both either playing, talking or watching football together, but it didn’t take you long to realise that you both played at different levels.
It had become something you where rather insecure about. Watching as Leah made her senior debut in 2014 you had also been chosen to play on the women’s first team but your success would have to wait as you celebrated Leah’s and you honestly didn’t care as long as Leah was living out her dream and happy you would never care to celebrate yours. That was until recently.
Leah had asked you out on the night of your 20th birthday stating she simply couldn’t wait anymore and if it meant fucking over an amazing friendship for an even better relationship she would do just that. The first four years had been blissful. Leah played at Arsenal and had won the WSL as well as the FA cup and each time she just had to look into the stands to see your gleaming smile telling her how proud of her you where. Leah had played on the youth squads for England but in Russia in 2018 you had stood next to her family to cheer her on as she made her senior debut, as well you where the first person she called after Sarina Wiegman had asked her to be captain of the Lionesses heading into the euros, ultimately you had been asked to become the Captain of Newport Pagnell the same day but not wanting to take away such a moment from her you kept it quite. You had been there at every match of the Euros and had ultimately burst into tears at the sound of the final whistle on the 31st of July grabbing Amanda as you both sobbed with pride for the English captain, who had jumped the barrier and ran up the steps to kiss you right after. You had been there to witness all of Leah’s best moments from the minute you met, but you had also been there to witness her hardest moments. You had been sat in the west stand of Leigh’s Sports Village with Amanda and Leah’s cousin Holly hair still wet from training when she had gone down. Amanda had immediately grabbed your arm out of instinct before you stood stating you would go check on her. You had found her tear stained lying on physios bed “oh darling.” Leah had immediately burst into tears once more at the sight of you before explaining what the medic team had told her. There wasn’t anything you could do but hold her and listen wishing for it all to be wrong. Sadly it didn’t workout that way and it had been announced your girlfriend had torn her ACL and would be unable to Captain her team at the World Cup this summer.
It had been a selfish wish one that you immediately felt guilty about but you had hoped with this forced break Leah might attend a few more of your matches, maybe meet the team and the girls who had become some of your best friends, normally she either had training or was playing in one herself whereas you had a job as a teacher and trained night and played on Sundays. But what you had really hoped for was to turn to see Leah standing beside the pitch cheering you on as your team played their final match of the season and one that could potentially see your team winning the league.
“Lee, my love.” You had walked through the front door expecting to find your girlfriend sitting on the couch typing away on her computer, instead you found her in the kitchen with Lia Walti “oh hey Wally .” Lia stood pulling you into a hug “Y/n how are you.” You smiled dropping you bag before picking up the girls cups and refilling them making one for your self “I’m good Wally tired but good how are you.” Leah grabbed your hand pulling you to the chair beside her resting her hand on your thigh “I’m good, thought I would come check on this one since I’m out for the rest of the season as a precaution.” You smiled “thank you, speaking of how is your ankle I watched it after it was hard to watch no idea how you did it.” Leah squeezed your leg “she’s just built different love, you have to be to play at our level.” You froze slightly at what Leah was implying but chose to ignore it instead asking Wally if she was staying for dinner.
You lay in bed head on Leah’s chest as she stroked your hair softly “Lee.” Leah hummed “I was wondering if you would come to my last match on the 27th kickoff is at 2pm.” Leah smiled “I’d love to my girl.” You squeezed her gently “only if you want to.” Leah kissed your head “I promise to be there my love I want to be there.” You kissed her jaw before settling back down content with Leah’s answer.
Leah was still asleep when you woke up Saturday morning getting all your things ready to head to meet the team for the last match of the season. You ran back up the stairs after making yourself breakfast before leaning over to kiss her head “I’ll see you shortly Lee.” You had taken your jersey from last season and left it on her night stand hoping she would wear it before running out the door.
The team had been on a high the minute you had all met at the clubhouse the excitement of the last match and potentially winning the league had set you all into a buzz as you all danced around the changing rooms getting ready to go out for warmups. “Anyone special coming Skip.” You turned looking to your best friend and teammate Tegan Mallor, you couldn’t help your cheeks get all read “oh is the wife making an appearance.” You laughed “she’s not my wife yet haven’t asked haven’t been asked but yes she told me she was coming as well as her Mum and cousins plus my parents.” The girls cheered at the thought of the Lioness captain coming to watch the final match.
Walking out on to the pitch for warmups you looked over to see your parents stood on the sidelines with Amanda,Holly,Ben,Jordan and a few others of the Williamson/Baker bunch it had made your heart swell at the sight you had grown up with no siblings and so Leah’s cousins and brother had taken on that mantle, but you couldn’t help but notice Leah wasn’t here yet. Putting it down to her being late you got on with training and put your captain head on ready to win.
The first half had gone terribly, the opposition had scored twice all in the span of 10 minutes of each other and you found the girls began to lose hope, you had never been more grateful for the half time whistle grabbing your team into the changing room and trying to hype them back up “what’s going on this isn’t the bunch of girls that where dancing around this morning we have 45 minutes to do this 45 that’s plenty of time turn it around come on.” The girls had jumped up and began running back out as the second half began. You turned looking to the sidelines hoping to catch your girlfriend but instead it had been the same group you had seen at training, Holly had caught your eye and shrugged letting you know she had no idea where Leah was.
The next 45 minutes flew in and your team had managed to tie the game but with a minute to go you had found yourself screaming for a cross in at the edge of the box from Tegan. The team held their breath as you sent a scream to the top right corner before they all piled on top of you screaming as the red blew the whistle stating the match was over and you had won both the match and the league. You all stood running to your family’s on the sidelines grabbing your dad into a hug as he cried “oh peanut I’m so proud that was amazing.” You squeezed him letting go as you hugged your mum before moving to Amanda “that was incredible darling no one deserves it more.” You pulled away thanking her before hugging everyone else “where’s Le.” Everyone froze “Go celebrate we will talk after.” You sighed shoulders sagging in disappointment “she promised.” Holly squeezed your arm “I’m sorry Y/n.” You shook your head “can I take him with me.” You turned asking Jordan if you could kidnap her son to help raise the trophy wanting to move away from their pitiful stares “want to go with Auntie Y/n buddy.” The baby simply smiled raising his hands for you to take him as you thanked Jordan and walked off to get your medal. “I’m going to kill her.” Holly punched Ben in the arm before Amanda spoke “you will have to get in line.”
You had been stood in the changing room dancing with the girls when Tegan had tapped you on the shoulder showing you her phone. You felt your stomach drop as you watched your girlfriend hobbling around the pitch at meadow park wearing a Rafaelle jersey as the girls shook hands and did their lap around. “I shouldn’t have gotten my hopes up it was so stupid.” Tegan grabbed your arm “hey it’s her fault she let you down ok you asked her to be here and she said no promised you she would ok.” You nodded turning to pack you bags just wanting to get home and change before heading to Amanda’s house for dinner.
You had arrived at Amanda’s and where currently sat on the floor playing with Jordan’s son while you laughed and talked about your summer plans when Leah had walked through the door “Hey.” You ignored her calling out in the hall as you talked about what you where bringing to Ibiza with Holly as well as possible things to do with Ben, “I’m bringing four bikinis max but my mum wants me to bring a rash vest if we are going jet skiing this year Ben after I came back the same colour as a strawberry last time.” They all laughed as Amanda grabbed Leah from the hall taking in her appearance dressed in an Arsenal jersey “you are in big trouble missy.” Amanda didn’t get to say anything else as you walked in with Jack (made up the name) resting on your hip, you stopped watching as Leah turned a smile taking over her face “Hi gorgeous.” You turned looking to Amanda “we thought we would come ask if you needed a hand with anything.” Amanda walked over taking Jack from you “no all good darling, I’ll leave you both to talk.”
You sighed turning to check the food as Leah went to grab you hand “hey what’s going on.” You shook your head “you promised.” Leah looked at you confused “what.” “You promised me you would be there, I thought you would be there, do you have any idea how embarrassing it is to tell my teammates your coming and then not show up only to see you all over instagram at Meadow park Le.” Leah shook her head “what are you talking about be where Y/n I have no idea.” You cut her off scoffing “oh my god you didn’t even remember, your telling me you didn’t care enough to remember.” Leah was getting annoyed now “what are you talking about.” You huffed not wanting to raise your voice “my match, the final match of the season where i captained my childhood club to win the league the one I asked you to come to the one you promised you would only to never show.” Leah froze “Y/n.” You shook your head “I left my jersey out for you to wear to it, I thought since you where injured you might come to just one of my matches heck even the most important one but you stood me up to go see Arsenal at Meadow park.” Leah sighed “it was Rafa’s last game.” You rolled your eyes “it was the most important match of my career.” Leah scoffed “you don’t have a football career Y/n your a teacher that’s your career not football for crying out loud your acting like I missed a World Cup final or a match at the emirates I missed a match in a field where the toilets are porta potties, the teams stand on the sidelines at half time and a bunch of wannabes pros run around so sorry I chose to go a more exciting match to support my friend in her last one for an actual professional team.” You felt tears spring to your eyes begging them not to spill over “so supporting your own girlfriend..” Leah scoffed “come on Y/n seriously I get bored watching you play at least my matches aren’t mind numbing.” You froze as Leah slowly began to realise what she had said “y/n” “ no your right, I don’t think I can do this anymore Leah.” Leah looked at you confused “do what Y/n let me explain please.” You shook your head “I can’t be in a relationship with someone who doesn’t support me they way I support them it’s not fair and I’m so tired of it Leah I really am and I’m so sorry because no matter how much I love you because believe me I really do I can’t keep being the only one putting in the effort or support so I’m done.”You began to turn to walk back to the living room where you knew everyone could hear “Y/n.” You just shook your head walking into the room collecting your stuff as Leah walked in behind you “eh thank you for coming I’m so sorry I can’t stay for dinner I have eh I really have to go.” Amanda stood up not bothering to look at her daughter “Y/n.” You shook your head “it’s fine enjoy dinner I’ll see you later.” You brushed last Leah and headed straight out the front door. “Mum I.” Amanda shook her head “I don’t know who you are but you are not the girl I raised the girl I raised would have understood how important today was for her girlfriend she would have been rushing the pitch after watching her girlfriend score the winning goal, the girl I raised would have been there point blank.” Leah felt her eyes fill with tears “they won.” Holly nodded standing up “your girlfriend led a team who hadn’t won a game in ten years to wining the East Midlands league in a season and she scored the final goal.” Leah shook her head “I didn’t mean it.” Amanda laughed “I have known you long enough and so has Y/n to know that you did and you know she is insecure about not being enough for you as a human being and as someone who plays football yet you told her today right to her face that those fears where true. I’m sorry I can’t even look at you right now.”
Leah stood hopeless “Holly I…” Everyone stood up leaving the room as Leah was left to think about what she had said “oh god what have I done.”

Not while I’m around (Alessia Russo x reader)
Tumblr media
Not While I’m Around (Alessia Russo x reader)
A/N: Here’s a little fic inspired by last nights game.
Through the fake smiles and lies of excitement you could see the nerves slowly consuming Alessia.
The first sign of nerves came when you had stayed over as her new house and woke up to find her looking at some of her old United gear. She played it off by saying she woke up feeling nostalgic and that the upcoming fixture hadn’t even come to mind. It was a lie, you and her knew it.
Then each training session came with questions about her former team. How to stop them? What are there weak spots? It almost felt treacherous for the blonde to share her thoughts.
“We’re almost there” Alessia says as she looks out the window.
The two of you were sat next to each other on the coach and up until now very little had been said since your departure from St Albans.
“Alessia” you say her name but her gaze remains on the view outside the window “Less, look at me”
She does as you ask and those blue eyes stare back at you. As beautiful as they may be you can just about see the anxiousness behind them.
“I can’t. I need to stay focused”
There’s no disagreement. You grab her hand, intertwine her fingers with your own and place them on your lap. Words wasn’t the only way to reassure someone.
You wished that Alessia had been wrong with her worry about returning to Leigh Sports Village but she wasn’t. It seemed the fans were hellbent on making her feel miserable. Every time she touched the ball they booed and every time she missed a shot or got tackled they cheered.
“It’s so disrespectful” you say at a drinks break.
“I know. Look at her” Lia points to Alessia who, whilst listening to Jonas’ instructions, was scanning the crowd hoping to see any form of hope that not every fan hated her.
There wasn’t a lot you could to do about the fans. You hated how loud they were and you could see how much it was affecting Alessia even though she was playing a brilliant game.
It was just before half time when a line is well and truly crossed. Hayley Ladd goes in for a tackle on Alessia. It wasn’t necessary and it was a tough one.
“Do you need the medics?” You crouch down next to your girlfriend. Once she shakes your head you are straight in Ladd’s face shouting and pushing her. Kim is the one that drags you away before you do something you’ll regret.
At half time strategies are discussed but you can’t take your eyes of Alessia who sits on the opposite side of the room. She walks back out to the pitch with Stina, unaware that Jonas keeps you behind.
“I can’t have you losing your head out there. I know you want to protect her but they will target her now to get to you. I can’t have one of my best players getting sent off”
“I will be on by best behaviour” Jonas walks just in front of you but stops when he hears you talking again “Unless they hurt her then good luck trying to stop me”
“Hey blondie” you shout as you take your position.
Alessia turns around.
“How about we get you a goal so they have something to complain about?”
You look to Kim then to Lia who both nod their head. The team wanted a win but having Alessia score against her former team would be icing on the cake.
“I’ll try”
And try she did. Alessia made the next 15 minutes hell for the defenders in red. It was fun to watch but not as much as getting involved in it yourself. You decide to push forward a bit more and before you know it you are one on one with Mary. The goal is almost guaranteed to happen given your track record with these situations but then you see Alessia making a run to the left of you and you know you won’t be the one on the scoresheet. It was an easy goal, a tap in but Alessia make it look graceful.
She didn’t celebrate her goal, of course she didn’t. You did though and so did the rest of the team. Alessia ran towards the away fans but you made the extra effort to turn to the home fans and hold you hand up to your ear. It was the quietest they had been all game and you loved it.
After the goal things got a lot more physical with the United players clearly frustrated. Katie and Caitlin come on and within minutes they both get booked. You look towards Jonas as if asking why they can do it and you can’t.
Alessia goes down a couple of times and after helping her up each time you look towards your coach.
The next tackle is the one that makes you snap.
It’s Ella. Of all people to take Alessia out it is her best friend that does so. United had a corner that doesn’t work. Amanda is able to clear the ball to Alessia who is charging towards Mary.
“What the hell was that!” You get in her face but don’t touch her.
“C’mon Y/N you know how I get sometimes” Ella jokingly says referring to her games with England.
“You think this is funny. Look at her” you point to where Alessia is still on the ground “I don’t care if you’re her best friend. She is my girlfriend and I will protect her. Tell your team to back off or I will take matters into my own hands”
When Ella doesn’t get carded Jonas gets involved and ends up getting carded himself.
“Now?” You say as you run to the sideline. Two of your team mates had been carded, now him and your coach wasn’t a hypocrite.
“Fine but only one”
That’s all you needed to hear. You hated that you needed it but you now had permission to protect her in whichever way you seemed fit. Much to your surprise you were able to be a little bit aggressive with a few United players before a powerful body check against Malard gets you the carded. It was worth it though because she went after your girl. From that moment they seemed to back off. The players who hadn’t yet had a run in with you wanted to be spared your wrath.
When the full time whistle is blown, the game ends with Arsenal securing all three points. You refused to shake hands with anyone who wronged your girlfriend.
“Ella wants to come and apologise. Be nice” Alessia’s arms snake around your waist from behind.
“Did she apologise to you?” You turn and kiss her cheek discreetly.
“She did but she thinks you’re mad at her. I told her she’s been ridiculous”
“I am mad at her. Strike that, I’m furious. She hurt you Alessia”
“I’m ok. It’s ok” she loved how protective you were of her but she also didn’t want any tension between you and her best friend.
“No, it’s not. Not while I’m around. While I’m here, while you are my girlfriend, I won’t stand by and let anyone hurt you. Now I’m going to shower before I get pulled for media”
You leave the pitch but before you do so you see Ella watching you nervously so you go over to her and tell her that the two of you are fine and that you were only protecting your girl.
Once showered and changed the team leave the stadium to head to the coach that will take them home. Of course there are fans waiting outside the stadium, most of which you meet before getting on the coach. Ever the gentlewoman you let Alessia on the coach first but she stops on the steps as she hears the fans chanting.
“TRAITOR. TRAITOR. TRAITOR”
The blonde turns around to look at the fans, the people she once called family, standing outside the stadium she once called home. You see the look of devastation on her face and it makes your own expression turn cold.
“Y/N don’t” she grabs your hand but not tight enough.
You stood up for her on the field and now you plan on doing the same in front on the fans.
“How can you say that!” You approach the crowd who grows silence. So much so that you could hear a pin drop.
“She left us” one girl says.
“All lot of players did. Tell me, if some miracle happens and you face Barcelona would you welcome Ona back this way. Would you boo her every time she touched the ball?”
You took the silence as your answer.
“That’s what I thought. That girl, who you are hellbent on making miserable, has been dreading this game. Her leaving you was one of the hardest decisions she has ever made and I know this because she would call me in tears and all she kept saying was she didn’t was to turn her back the fans. She gave her all for this club and is one of the main reasons why you had the success you did last season. Show her some respect!”
Phones were recording you but you couldn’t care less. You were a protector, everyone knew this.
“Let’s go home” you say once you reach Alessia who is still standing on the bottom step of the coach when you return to her.
It’s about an hour into the journey and Alessia is fast asleep in your arms. It was a draining day both mentally and physically for her and you couldn’t wait to take her home. Whether that would be yours or hers was yet to be determined.
“I’ve never seen you like that before” Lia says from across the table.
“I can’t let anyone hurt her Lia”
“You love her don’t you?” She asks and even though you hesitate to respond, you do know the answer and have done for a while now.
You and Alessia would be celebrating your 1 year anniversary in a couple of months but you knew you loved her the night of the euros or more so the morning after when the blonde woke up in your bed.
“I do. I love her more than I thought possible”
“I love you too Tesoro” Alessia mumbles. She looks up at you still half asleep but with a smile on her face.

Debut (alessia russo x reader)
Summary: You’ve dreamed of making your WSL debut for years. But when the day finally arrives, it’s not how you imagined at all. The one person who should be celebrating the big moment with you, your girlfriend Alessia, won’t even look you in the eye.
———
Today should be the best day of your life. As you stand in the tunnel at Leigh Sports Village behind Katie, about to walk onto the pitch to make your Women’s Super League debut, you should be brimming with mixed excitement and nerves.
Your debut has come as a bit of a surprise. Playing as the number two to the best goalkeeper in the world, you’ve got a couple of cup games under your belt, but you’ve not yet been given any minutes in the league. In fact, today wasn’t even supposed to be your league debut, and wouldn’t have been if Mary hadn’t fallen ill at the last minute, forcing Marc to call you up to the starting lineup with just over an hour to go before kickoff.
Maybe that’s why the excitement hasn’t kicked in yet. Maybe you haven’t yet processed that this is happening.
Or maybe it’s because you had the mother of all arguments with your girlfriend last night and that’s playing on your mind instead.
You don’t even remember how the argument started. You might have left something lying around in a place it didn’t belong, or moved something of Alessia’s, or something else completely trivial, but bickering turned into fighting which turned into yelling and crying, which eventually led to Alessia storming out of your shared flat and not returning.
You assume she slept at Ella’s. You don’t care though. If Alessia wants to be childish and run away instead of working through the bumps in your relationship like grown-ups, then that’s her problem.
You should be celebrating today with her though. Your first league game for Manchester United - she knows how hard you work in training, how many hours you spend analysing world-class keepers to improve your own positioning, how much you’ve dreamed of today. Yet she hasn’t even made eye contact with you since Marc announced the starting lineup.
She’s behind you somewhere. You can hear her laughing along with Ella. Like she doesn’t care that she hurt you last night. Like she doesn’t care that you’re about to play the most important ninety minutes of your career so far.
If that’s how she wants it to be, then fuck her. You won’t let Alessia and her childish antics ruin your big day.
“You ready?” Ona’s accented voice asks, as she rests her hands encouragingly on your shoulders from behind.
In front of you, Katie turns around and gives you a reassuring smile, then says, “You’ve got this.”
You smile your thanks to Katie and briefly cover one of Ona’s hands with your own gloved one in appreciation. It should be Alessia supporting you right now, not them, but you’re glad that at least some of your teammates understand what a big moment this is and have your back.
As you follow Katie down the tunnel and onto the pitch, the reality of the situation starts to kick in, and so do the nerves. There’s a crowd of seven thousand people here, each one watching you and expecting you to represent their club. You can’t let them down. You can’t let yourself down.
In an ideal situation, you probably would’ve made your league debut against a mid-to-low table team, a confidence builder where making a mistake or two probably wouldn’t cost you the game. As it is, playing against Chelsea, you know you’re going to be tested all game and that even the tiniest slip-up could be the crucial difference between winning and losing not just the game, but the title.
Sure enough, you get your first touch of the ball less than two minutes after kick off, a tame shot from distance that you follow with your eyes all the way to you, not testing you too much as you catch it simply against your chest, before rolling it out to Maya to start the next phase of play.
It continues much like that. The game is intense at both ends of the pitch, two title rivals battling against each other, and you’re forced into a few more saves, though none of them are particularly difficult. Even so, when you head in at halftime goalless, it’s with a sense of relief that you haven’t let the team down yet.
You remove your gloves in the dressing room to take on fluids, accepting congratulations from a few of your teammates on a solid first half with a grateful smile. But when you sit down to listen to Marc’s halftime team talk, it’s only Alessia on your mind, and you zone out slightly from his words as you watch her across the dressing room.
If Alessia feels your gaze on her, then she doesn’t acknowledge it. Maybe she really is that engrossed in what Marc has to say, maybe she’s just trying to spite you. But what remains when you return to the pitch for the second half is that the one person you want to reassure you that you’re doing a good job still won’t even make eye contact with you.
The second half kicks off with heightened intensity, just as you expected. Manchester United get the first chance, a shot from Ella that ricochets off the crossbar before Leah taps the rebound wide, but Chelsea have come out with just as much intent to assert their dominance on the game. Within just five minutes, they’ve won a corner and almost all of the red shirts on the pitch are crowded into your box to help defend your goal.
The ball is launched from the corner into the box and it’s a bit of a mad scramble. A United player tries to clear but only as far as the edge of the box, where it lands at the feet of an unmarked Chelsea player. They take their chance and fire the ball through the crowd of players towards the bottom corner of your goal.
An instinctive reflex you’ve spent your entire life preparing for kicks in and you dive to the side, just barely glancing the ball past the goalpost with the tips of your fingers out for another corner.
Frustrated with the poor defending, you get to your feet as Chelsea set up for a second corner, and bellow at your teammates, “Mark your players!”
What they do on the rest of the pitch is something you have very little control over, but the box is your domain and if you have to shout at them to get them to do the bare minimum amount of defending, so be it. You assess your area as the Chelsea player sets the ball down by the corner flag, and you spot a blue shirt unmarked near the back post.
“Alessia!” you bark at your girlfriend to get her attention. Her stunning blue eyes find yours and your gesture with your gloved hand at the unmarked Chelsea player as you yell, “Stick with your fucking player!”
Yelling at each other on the pitch isn’t a complete novelty - there’s a mutual understanding between all the Manchester United players that any harsh words said on the pitch are for the benefit of the team, and though you and Alessia haven’t actually played many games together, you both know how to leave anything that happens on the pitch behind for the sake of your relationship.
Until today, you’ve never had to do the reverse. Though shouting and swearing at Alessia during a match would be fine on any other day, when you know it’ll be completely forgotten when the final whistle blows, your demand feels a hundred times more scathing when you remember the argument you had last night that still hasn’t been resolved.
There’s the briefest of glares in Alessia’s eyes, but she’s not petty enough to risk conceding a goal just because you’ve fallen out, so she does as instructed and moves closer to the other player, positioning herself between the Chelsea player and your goal.
The ball flies in and you launch yourself in the air, fist outstretched as you try to punch it away, but it’s too high and you miss it completely. As you tumble to the grass, you see the ball soar almost in slow motion towards the previously unmarked Chelsea player. It’s Sam Kerr and you know she’s going to score, you know that your chance of a clean sheet on your league debut is going to get snatched away by the most ruthless striker in the WSL.
But then you see somebody else, a hero in red, throw herself at the ball too. Alessia has spotted the danger and she uses her height to her advantage, her head hitting the ball at the same time as Kerr’s. It’s just enough to stop the ball heading towards the goal, and though you don’t know exactly what happens next as you scramble to your feet, too many bodies trying to nudge the ball in opposite directions, a Manchester United foot eventually gets a clean enough connection to smash the ball out of the box and away from immediate danger.
And just like there are things that stay on the pitch, there are things that stay at home.
“Good job, Less,” you praise her, clapping Alessia on the back with a gloved hand.
There’s stuff that needs resolving off the pitch later, but Alessia has just kept your hopes of a clean sheet alive and more than deserves your praise for that. Her eyes soften a little as you revert back to using her nickname, before she jogs away back to her normal position in United’s forward line.
Things are far from back to normal but there’s comfort in knowing that whatever has come between you and Alessia in the last twenty four hours - and to be honest, you’re struggling to remember if it was even worth the raised voices and the frosty atmosphere between you today - you can still count on her on the pitch when you need her. You mind somewhat at ease, at least until the final whistle blows and you’re free to actually talk to your girlfriend, you’re one hundred percent focused on the task of keeping a clean sheet to help your team.
But if you’d thought the back-to-back corners earlier in the second half were a problem, nothing could have prepared you for what happens in the eightieth minute.
It’s getting desperate from both sides. Legs are tiring, challenges are flying in, cards are being shown by the referee. The football is becoming sloppier, each team fighting for that singular moment of brilliance or luck that could win them the game. As United win a corner at the other end of the field, they send almost everybody up to get on the end of it, leaving just you and a singular defender in your own half. There are so many bodies in the opposition box that from your vantage point at the edge of your own area, you don’t have a clear view of what’s going on, but you watch as Katie sends the ball flying in. Desperation sets in as the United players try to knock it into the Chelsea goal, then somebody goes down and you hear cries for a penalty, but as the referee waves the claims away, a Chelsea player manages to send the ball forward and suddenly they’re on a break.
You backpedal towards your own goal, covering the net, but a feeling of dread rises in your stomach as the Chelsea player drives the ball forward. She’s a substitute who has only been on the pitch for ten minutes, fresh legs outrunning the final United defender and now you’re the only one left between her and an inevitable goal.
One-on-one with the Chelsea striker, you have just a split second to decide what to do. If you stay on your line, the player has a choice of which corner to slot it into. If you run towards her, you risk getting chipped or dribbled around. Part of being a keeper is making decisions but right now every choice feels like it might be the wrong one that costs your team the game.
Instinct takes over and you leave your line, arms held out as you rush towards the oncoming striker and try to be as much of a distraction as possible. As you get closer, you do the only thing you can and slide in for the ball, trying to smother it with your outstretched gloves.
But this is Chelsea and the striker anticipates your move, attempting to lift the ball over your grounded body. Your defenders are rushing back to help you but they’re too late, you’re the only one who can stop an otherwise inevitable goal and as you flail almost helplessly on the ground, the ball hits your forearm and changes course.
You don’t know where the ball has gone and you don’t get the chance to find out because the momentum of the Chelsea striker sends her clattering into you, a knee connecting with your ribs and she trips over you and falls to the floor too.
Suddenly, you’re overcome with pain. You know you should be more concerned with where the ball has gone - it’s your sole duty to stop it from hitting the back of the net and it could have gone anywhere off your arm - but there’s an excruciating pain in the side of your chest where you collided with your opponent.
You can’t do anything except lie there on the grass, curled onto the side that isn’t splitting in half with pain. You’re not aware of much around you, just unintelligible voices and somebody rolling you onto your back. Everything is swimming, indistinct sounds and shapes, until one piece of familiarity cuts through the blur as a hand finds yours.
You let your eyes flicker open and there are three people crouching over you, but you only have eyes for the one dressed in red, Alessia frowning down at you in concern as she clutches your hand and brings you back to your surroundings.
“Hurts,” you manage to grunt out.
“Shh, it’s okay baby,” Alessia soothes you, squeezing your hand. “I’ve got you.”
“Where does it hurt?” asks one of the physios kneeling beside you.
“Here,” you say, attempting to gesture to the side of your chest, but even that small action incites a sharp pang of pain.
The two physios start their examination of you, probing gently around the painful area, and as you become more aware of your surroundings, you remember that you’re lying in the middle of a football pitch, with twenty-one other players, a referee, and a crowd of several thousand waiting for you to get up so that the game can resume.
“Did they score?” you ask Alessia.
“No,” she tells you, shaking her head with a little smile. “You stopped it from happening. You did so good.”
“I can carry on,” you try to tell the physios. “There’s only ten minutes left. I can finish the game.”
Just as you say that, the latex glove covered fingers of the physio traces along your ribcage, and you wince as it grazes over a sore spot.
“She needs to come off,” the physio tells Alessia, before beckoning over to the bench. You see the medics start to enter the pitch with a stretcher and immediately start your protests.
“No, I’m fine,” you say, trying to push yourself up into a seated position, but there’s another stab of pain in your side and you collapse back into the grass, crushing Alessia’s hand in yours.
“You’re not fine,” Alessia tells you. “They’re right, you need to go off.”
“But…” you start, thinking of Mary, who was sent home to get better, and of the academy goalkeeper who will have to come on if you get subbed off with even less preparation than you had.
“But nothing,” Alessia interjects. “You’ve done your job. You’ve kept us in this game for eighty minutes. Trust us to take care of the rest. We’re a team, aren’t we?”
There’s a look in Alessia’s eyes, a searching glint, and you know that she’s not just talking about Manchester United and the rest of this game, but your relationship. She’s asking you to trust her, promising that she’s got your back, even if it might have seemed like she didn’t have it earlier.
And because you love her, despite all the profanities that were yelled at each other last night, you believe her.
“Yeah,” you nod, as you allow the medics to help you onto the stretcher. “We’re a team.”
———
You’re sitting up in a hospital bed a couple of hours later, eating a yoghurt that one of the nurses brought for you, when there’s a soft knock on the door.
It’s Alessia, still dressed in her Manchester United training kit that she must have changed into after the game, and you nod to show her that she’s welcome to come in.
“Hi baby,” she says, still lingering in the doorway, with a softness to her voice like you didn’t fight last night, like you haven’t spent the whole day not talking to each other. “How are you?”
“I’ve been better,” you admit, finishing the last spoonful of yoghurt and setting aside the now empty pot. “Two fractured ribs. No football for a few weeks, maybe longer, depending on how it heals.”
“I guess you’re gonna need someone to look after you at home,” Alessia jokes.
There’s still something not quite right, a wedge of awkwardness between you, and you know it’s time to settle the disagreement that has made the last twenty four hours pure hell instead of the league debut you’d always dreamed of.
“Does that mean you’re coming home again?” you ask.
Alessia laughs as if the question is ridiculous.
“Of course I’m coming home.”
“Because I’m injured and you feel sorry for me, or because you actually want to?” you can’t help but have a little jab.
“I want to,” Alessia says, fully stepping into the room and taking a seat in the chair beside your bed. She reaches for your hand and you let her toy with your fingers as she continues, “I hate how we left things last night.”
“How you left things,” you remind her. “You’re the one who left.”
“And I’m sorry for that,” Alessia apologises, and you can see the sincerity in her blue eyes. “I needed some space so I ran away, which was stupid and childish of me. And I was still fuming this morning so I decided it was best to leave it and talk after the match, but then you got called into the lineup and we still hadn’t fixed things and then you were just lying there injured and barely moving and I’ve never felt so helpless. If I could take away all the pain you’ve felt in the last twenty four hours, I’d do it in a heartbeat.”
You know that Alessia’s not just talking about the physical pain of your injury, but the hurt that she caused you in your fight and its aftermath too.
If you’re being fair, you probably hurt her too. You both said things that you wouldn’t normally say in last night’s argument.
“I’m sorry too,” you say, flipping your hand palm up and letting Alessia slide her fingers in between your own. “I think we both got caught in the heat of the moment. What were we even fighting about?”
Alessia laughs as she exhales, then says, “I don’t even remember. Something stupid. Something not worth me running away. I don’t want to fight with you again.”
“Look, we’re gonna fight,” you point out. “That’s part of being in a relationship. It’s not going to be easy all the time. But we can definitely be better at communicating.”
“I know,” Alessia nods. “That’s on me. I’ll try to work on it.”
“It’s on both of us,” you reassure her. “But thank you.”
A third person enters the room and you glance up to see one of the nurses who has been looking after you, middle-aged with a kind smile and a lilting Scottish accent.
“You must be the girlfriend,” says the nurse, addressing Alessia as she takes a piece of paper out of the file she brought with her into the room and jots something down.
“That’s right.”
“Then I’ll tell you the same thing I told her,” the nurse continues, her tone motherly but with just a hint of sternness. “She needs to take it easy while her ribs heal. No physical activity.” She gives Alessia a pointed look, then adds, “Of any kind.”
Alessia’s cheeks flush slightly at the implication, but she nods and says, “I understand.”
“Make up sex is off the cards then,” you joke under your breath.
You’re clearly not quiet enough because it’s not just Alessia who hears you, but the nurse too, who sends you a look of warning that has you sinking back into your pillows in shame.
“I’ve had enough athletes come through these doors to know exactly what you lot are like. I know you hate sitting still but you need to heal.”
“I’ll make sure she behaves,” Alessia promises the nurse. She turns to you, then adds, “Anyway, the better you follow the nurse’s instructions, the sooner you’ll be back playing football.”
“Exactly,” the nurse agrees.
“Did she tell you that she kept a clean sheet today?” Alessia asks the nurse, a hint of pride in her voice.
“She did, aye. Almost makes a couple of fractured ribs worth it, doesn’t it?”
“Well, Alessia scored the winning goal, so she’s the real hero of the day,” you shrug modestly.
One of the first things you did while waiting to have your ribs x-rayed was to check the score to see how the last ten minutes of the game panned out. Your main concern, of course, had been the clean sheet that you put your body on the line to preserve, and you were relieved to see that the academy keeper who took your place didn’t let any goals past her either. But you’d almost given up hope that United would score, which made it a delightful surprise that of all people, Alessia was the one to slot a winning goal into the Chelsea net in the eighty-seventh minute.
“It sounds like you can both share the credit today,” the nurse says diplomatically, as she clears away your empty yoghurt pot. “A good partnership in more ways than one.”
You look at your hand joined with Alessia’s, then up at the adoring look in her blue eyes.
“Yeah,” you agree. “The best.”

Match Review: Manchester United Women 0-0 Aston Villa Women
SKINNERRRRRRRR.
Tumblr media
Three wins to open United's WSL campaign, followed by three draws against plucky Brighton, the better Arsenal, and now the lowly Villa. Come on, dude.
In the absence of the injured Lisa Naalsund, Skinner opted away from the steady but unimaginative midfield pairing of Naalsund and Janssen and went to Clinton and Janssen, with Toone in CAM. The BBC had this as a 4-4-1-1 formation, which maybe it was but maybe not. Malard and Bizet at LM/RM or LW/RW? I wonder what's more likely.
Tumblr media
The stats concur with what the video footage below says: United were lucky not to lose. Poor in possession, sub-par passing accuracy, and as such very few chances created.
Phallon Tullis-Joyce made some good saves and continued her good start to the season and kept United in the match. She made mistakes in some of her passing though, as did Maya Le Tissier and Celin Bizet. Ella Toone had some good attempts on goal, and Melvine Malard looked lively and spearheaded a lot of United's best attacking play. Bizet was solid in that regard too, but Geyse currently looks the better option; lively and direct, difficult to handle. It might be rotation time, see if that fires United up to start banging in goals.
Tumblr media
Now, here's what annoyed me, and my points are directed to manager Marc Skinner:
Janssen is a CB first, and a DM second. She should be LCB over Millie Turner. She's almost as tall, perfectly strong for the role, and has much better ball control. If you want a DM, use Hayley Ladd ffs.
You also have Simi Awujo just waiting, if you don't trust Ladd / want to force her out (which if true is stupid)
You have the excellent Hinata Miyazawa and an average Ella Toone (based on present form). Whether that's the positional tinkering to rotate her and Grace, or related to her bereavement, or just a poor patch of form - bench her. Rest her. Rotate her out.
5 substitutes available and we use just 4. Emma Watson could have added something to midfield and we take Terland off and go big for Rach Williams.
4-4-2 isn't bad, but it's more defensive, and we're at home to a struggling side.
FREE HAYLEY LADD.
Tumblr media
So yeah, boring game that pissed off players, fans, and pundits alike. The only ONLY solace is now it has people looking at Marc Skinner's performance just like they did with Jonas. About time.
Next up: Leicester City away next Sunday, 3pm kick off.

Best Friend's Enemy
Plot: Ella and Charlotte are enemies on and off the field knowing exactly how to piss each other off. The only thing is that Ella's best friend Alessia may enjoy Charlotte more than she should.
WARNING: Smut 18+
Tumblr media
Chapter 1
Ella Toone and Charlotte Anderson were mortal enemies. The Manchester United midfielder and Chelsea midfielder would constantly be at each other’s throats during games, for both club and country. Charlotte played for Australia and was a key midfielder, she was known as the key playmaker linking up with Sam Kerr up front and this translated perfectly for Chelsea.
Once the 2021/22 season was underway all eyes were on Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal as the potential front runners for the title. Match week 3 saw Chelsea traveling to Leigh Sports Village to take on Manchester United, it was the match of the week and Charlotte was ready to play, especially against Ella. The Manchester midfielder was excited to be able to take on the reigning champions and especially taking out their cocky Aussie midfielder.
In the tunnel Ella and Charlotte stood next to each other, Charlotte turned to the Manchester player. “Well Toone, I’m surprised you actually got named. Not been the best start of the season for you.” Ella clenched her jaw. “You’re one to talk.” Charlotte laughed. “Dunno if you saw my games Toone, I’ve scored three goals already.” Alessia was stood in front of Ella and turned around to the Aussie. “Shut up. She’s twice the player you’ll ever be.” Charlotte smirked. “Damn Russo. You gotta help Toone now? Thought she could take care of herself.” Alessia clenched her jaw. “You are such an asshole. Can’t wait for us to destroy you today.” Charlotte stepped closer to Alessia so they were face to face. “You can destroy me anytime you’d like. Nice to see you back on the field, Russo. Even if you play for a shit team.” She tugged at Alessia’s shirt and turned to face the front of the line. Alessia stood staring at the Chelsea midfielder for a second then got back into line. “Fucking hate her.” Toone said just loud enough that Alessia could hear her.
The first half was started by Manchester United, with Alessia passing it back to Ella who was immediately tackled by Charlotte and dispossessed. The Chelsea midfielder played it through to Sam Kerr whose shot was saved by Mary Earps, Charlotte followed up the ball and scored in the top right corner of the goal. She celebrated and ran past Alessia giving her a wink, she glared at the midfielder as she took up her spot. By half time Ella was fuming, Charlotte was having a phenomenal game having scored one goal and gotten another assist.
Alessia was more determined than ever coming back out for the second half to make an impact, three minutes in she got her chance, Manchester won a corner and Charlotte marked Alessia. She grabbed onto the back of her shirt and gave it a gentle tug. “Good luck scoring Russo. I got you in my back pocket princess.” Alessia pressed back against Charlotte trying to knock her off balance, Charlotte just grabbed Alessia’s hips holding her against her chest. “Didn’t know you felt that way about me.” Charlotte said in her ear. As the ball was kicked Alessia pushed Charlotte back and jumped up, the ball connected perfectly on her head and into the back of the net. Alessia smirked and celebrated next to Charlotte. “Who is in whose pocket now princess?” She said to the Chelsea midfielder. This spurred Charlotte on, she set up another goal and bumped past Alessia and Ella on the way back to her half with a smug grin. On the next run that saw Charlotte sprinting down the right wing, Ella was tracking her closely, she slid in and got Charlotte and then the ball. The tackle led to Charlotte sliding right into the field fencing, she got up quickly and pushed Ella back. “The fuck Toone, I know you are shit but that tackle was fucking shocking. Could have fucking hurt me. Is that the only way you could stop me?” Ella put her forehead against Charlotte’s as they pushed against each other. “Fuck you Charlotte, you might be winning but you are a fucking prick.” Charlotte felt a hand on her chest pushing her back, she turned and saw it was Sam Kerr. “Hey, take a walk.” Charlotte stepped back, catching the eye of Alessia who was pushing Ella away from the potential scuffle too. Charlotte and Ella were taken off to avoid there being any more issues.
From the bench Charlotte watched the game, taking mental notes on what they could work on in the upcoming training sessions. Her eyes kept drifting over to Alessia Russo, she moved so incredibly on the ball, she was even phenomenal off the ball. It frustrating to know just how good Alessia was and to know that she played for Manchester. At the end of the game Charlotte shook hands with the Manchester girls, she shook Ella’s hand but neither of them spoke a word to each other. When Charlotte got to Alessia she held out her hand. “Good game Russo, I hate to admit it but you had a good game.” Alessia grabbed her hand and shook it, their hands lingered for a minute while they spoke. “You beat us 6 - 1.” Alessia bit back. “Not looking at the score, you move well. Very, very dominant. I would almost say I was impressed.” Alessia bit her lip as she stared at the midfielder. “I would almost say you had a half decent game.” Charlotte smirked and ran her thumb over the back of Alessia’s hand and let it go. “Catch you next game princess. Next time can you press your ass more into me during a corner, it was a bit of a tease today.” Charlotte winked as she walked off.
Alessia sat in the change room thinking about the exchange with Charlotte, she was very annoying but also very hot. Ella sat next to Alessia. “I wish I could just punch her. If I ever saw her out I would knock her out.” She kicked off her boots. “She gets a kick out of pissing you off. You can’t let her get into your head.” Alessia looked over at Ella. “I know. But I need to kill her. She does my fucking head in. Can we go out tonight and just drink?” Alessia smiled and nodded. “Yeah, let's do it.”
Alessia put on a black skin tight dress and put her hair half up and half down, Ella wore a crop top with black skinny jeans. They went out to a local bar, they sat in a booth with a few of the other Manchester girls, Alessia was at the bar when she heard a familiar voice. She turned to see the blonde Australian wearing a white t-shirt with black jeans at the pool table. Charlotte was chatting to a random girl, she had her arm around her waist and had a beer in her other hand. She quickly finished her drink and gave the girl a kiss on the cheek, then walked over to the bar standing next to Alessia. “Oh wow, Alessia Russo. How nice it is to see you out of a football uniform.” Her eyes raked over the striker’s body. “Anderson. Nice to see that this place just lets anyone in. Does that girl know just how insufferable you are?” Alessia finally turned to Charlotte. “Not yet. But I mean she doesn’t have to know anything about me to sleep with me now does she.” Charlotte motioned for another beer to the bartender. “Charming. I just feel bad for that girl having to admit to her friends that she actually slept with you.” Charlotte grabbed her new beer and slid over a 50 pound note. “Oh princess, I know you would love to experience a night with me.” Charlotte looked at the bartender. “Whatever she wants as well. Give me a call Russo if you want to do something you will regret.” Alessia watched as Charlotte walked back to the girl, Charlotte pulled the girl close and kept her hand on her lower back as they talked. Charlotte leant in and talked into the girl’s ear while locking eyes with Alessia.
As the night went on the Manchester girls were getting more tipsy as they congregated on the dancefloor singing along with the music. Charlotte had lost interest in the girl as she watched Alessia dance, as soon as the Manchester striker went to the bar Charlotte followed her. “You look like you are having fun.” She leant against the bar close to Alessia. “Yeah I was. Until you came to annoy me.” Charlotte put her hand on her heart. “Shit you hurt me Russo. Why don’t you and I have a dance and you can decide if I am annoying.” Alessia looked Charlotte up and down then looked at her friends preoccupied on the dancefloor. “Give me five minutes princess.” Charlotte ran her finger along Alessia’s arm making her skin feel like it was on fire. Alessia leant in getting close to Charlotte making the Aussie’s breath hitch for a second. “Not in your wildest dreams Anderson.” Alessia grabbed her drink and walked back to her friends. The next time that Alessia turned to look at Charlotte the girl was gone.
Alessia woke up the next morning with a headache, memories of Charlotte and how close they were and how gorgeous she was. Alessia was so thankful that she didn’t give into the Aussie, but she couldn’t stop thinking about her. To try and distract herself from the Chelsea midfielder she went onto Instagram, there was one notification, ‘CharAnderson has started following you’. Alessia stared at the notification and succumbed to looking at Charlotte’s profile, there were so many pictures of her at the beach that Alessia became fixated on, especially the ones of her skateboarding and surfing by the beach.
It wasn't long until they were in close proximity again, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United were all at the same nightclub after their games. Ella and Alessia went to the bar and saw the Chelsea midfielder standing alone and sipping a drink. “Looking for another victim?” Ella smirked at the Aussie. “Ella Toone, can’t say I have missed you in the slightest. Alessia Russo however, I definitely have missed you.” Charlotte smirked as she looked at Alessia. “Charlotte, a pleasure as always.” Alessia rolled her eyes and turned away from Charlotte as she and Ella ordered a drink. Alessia’s eyes kept drifting to the Australian as she went to the dancefloor with some of the other players, her arm was snaked around Jill Roord and their bodies were pressed together. “You okay Less?” Ella looked at the striker. “Yeah, come on, let's go dance.”
The two girls joined some of the other players from all of the teams on the dancefloor, Alessia kept Charlotte in her eyeline while they all sang along with the music. Alessia excused herself to grab another drink, she leant against the bar trying to focus, definitely feeling the alcohol. An arm wrapped around her waist and a familiar voice sounded in Alessia’s ear. “Princess I know I am gorgeous but you just can’t seem to stop staring at me.” Alessia bit her lip and gripped her drink tighter. “S-shut up Charlotte.” The midfielder gripped onto the striker’s hip and turned her around so they were face to face. “Make me.” Her voice dropped. Alessia clenched her jaw and dragged Charlotte out to the smokers area into the far corner where no one would see them. She pushed the Australian up against the wall and kissed her deeply. Charlotte grabbed Alessia’s bum as the blonde tangled her fingers in Charlotte’s hair. There was nothing gentle about the kiss, it was desperate and lustful. Charlotte flipped their positions to push Alessia against the wall, her lips making their way down Alessia’s jaw to her neck. “Charlotte fuck.” Alessia held Charlotte’s head against her neck, the Australian’s hand slid up Alessia’s leg, under her dress and to her inner thigh. Alessia felt her knees getting weak as the hand made contact with her g-string making her moan. Charlotte reconnected their lips as she pulled the g-string to the side and a finger circled her clit. Alessia bit Charlotte’s lip making the girl moan into her mouth, Charlotte slid her finger further down and pushed inside Alessia making the girl dig her fingers into her back. The thrusts were deep but slow to begin with, this wasn’t enough for Alessia she pushed against Charlotte’s finger, the midfielder added a second finger and sped up. She dropped to her knees and circled Alessia’s clit with her tongue while continuing to finger her. Alessia gripped onto Charlotte’s head and pushed her deeper, feeling herself getting close to release, her legs shaking and struggling to keep her up. Charlotte felt as Alessia finally let her orgasm take over, her fingers didn’t slow until Alessia struggled to stand. “You okay princess?” Charlotte stood and held Alessia close to her body. “Shit.” Alessia rested her head on the Australian’s shoulder.
The two stood there for a few minutes while Alessia caught her breath and found her feet again. Alessia looked at Charlotte and kissed her softly. “It's okay if you regret it.” Charlotte’s voice had a bit of vulnerability in it. “I don’t. I just can’t do it again. Ella would kill me.” Charlotte nodded knowingly, Ella hated her and she hated Ella. “All good princess. Have a good night.” Charlotte kissed Alessia’s cheek and fixed her clothes before going back inside. Alessia followed a few minutes later but Charlotte had left the whole bar. Ella pulled Alessia onto the dancefloor, barely noticing that she had even left for half an hour.
The following morning Alessia followed Charlotte on Instagram and liked her most recent post. Hopefully it would break the ice between the two, she got up and had a shower washing off the night before remembering the moment with Charlotte. She didn’t regret doing it, it felt amazing and Charlotte is gorgeous but it would never work. Ella would kill Alessia if she found out they so much as kissed. Alessia looked at Charlotte’s Instagram but it was quickly obvious that Charlotte had blocked her, she rolled her eyes at the girl’s petty response to what had happened.

Here’s Maya fanfic part 2 sorry I’ve not posted it in ages i’ve just been busy with uni life, I made a longer part to make up for it 🫶
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A few weeks have passed since Maya drove you back to your apartment and since then it’s just been training and pre-season.
However this was it, Maya’s official debut against Reading.
You sat in the changing room positioned across from Maya and as the music played and there was some slight chatter you looked over to her.
She had her head down and her leg was bouncing up and down, but it was difficult for most to tell if it was due to the music or nerves.
“Hey, Maya”, You said, but you got no response, maybe she didn’t hear because of the music.
“Maya”, you repeated, a little louder.
“Yeah?”, she replied, quickly shooting her head up.
“Good luck for today, i’m sure you’ll do amazing”, You said with a smile.
“Thank you”, she replied, with a small smile back. You could tell that meant a lot to her.
Everyone then stood up making their way to the tunnel. You got up and Maya followed behind you.
The game kicked off and United took control of the game passing around the ball with ease. A shot was deflected meaning United had a corner.
Katie Zelem signaled then crossed the ball into the box, everyone ran towards the ball Maya got her head on it.
GOAL Maya Le Tissier scores on her debut.
Leigh sports Village erupts as the players swarm around Maya praising her and bringing everyone into a huddle.
When the players withdraw and start walking back to their positions, you bring Maya into a hug moving your hands across her back.
“Well done”, you say to her and walk back into your rw role, so happy for her.
Not soon after Leah Galton puts the ball past the keeper but is taken out at the attempt to save it. Penalty to man united.
GOAL, Katie Zelem cooly slots the ball into the top corner making it 2-0.
Another ball goes out of play, another corner.
The ball is whipped into the box and yet again Maya gets her head on it.
GOAL Maya le tissier now has a brace on her dream debut, it can’t get much better than this.
Maya turns and runs straight into your arms as you were the closest to her, you hold her up as the team crowded around her, her body now pressing firmly onto yours. You let her down and see a big smile on her face, no nerves in sight.
The game ends 4-0 as Russo also scores at the end of the first half.
The players head to the tunnel after signing autographs for fans and everyone is smiling and chatting proud of today's work.
The team congratulates Maya once again in the changing room and she can’t stop smiling.
- The next day -
Today was a recovery day for the team after the win yesterday.
Millie invited a few players to go out for lunch including Hannah, Martha, Vilde, Mary, Maya and you.
We ended up at a cafe in Manchester and ate some sandwiches and drank some coffee.
You were sitting opposite Maya and she seemed a little quiet but that’s expected when she had only recently joined.
“Are you alright?”, You asked Maya as the others were talking about some tiktok post.
“Yes, just tired”, She replied with a small smile.
“I’m not surprised, you played so well yesterday”. You said.
“Thank you”, She replied smiling then looked down at her watch.
“Oh my God it’s already 2pm, i need to walk Mocha”, Maya exclaimed.
“That’s okay, we were probably about to go now anyway”, Millie replied.
“Okay I should probably start walking then”, Maya said getting up.
“You walked here?”, I asked.
“Yes, my Dad needed my car as his broke down a few days ago”. Maya replied.
“I’ll give you a lift then”, You offered.
“No it’s okay i’ll just-“.
“It’s fine, I don't have anything on for today”.
“Are you sure?”, Maya asked.
“Yes”, You replied getting up.
“Ok, thanks ”, Maya said with a smile and you followed behind her to your car.
“You really didn’t have to do this”, Maya said, glancing over to you.
“It’s okay, I wanted to”, You replied. Upon reflection you were annoyed at how forward you sounded.
“Well I really appreciate it”. Maya said.
“I’m only doing this for Mocha”, you grinned.
“Wowww, I see how it is”, Maya said, chuckling and tilting her head back.
You smiled at her and then turned your head to face the road.
“Do you have a dog?”, Maya asked.
“No, but I've always wanted one," You replied.
“Would you get one in the future?”, Maya asked.
“Yes but my ex-girlfriend didn’t like dogs, so that didn’t go down too well”, You said.
“I see”, Maya said with a small grin.
“Is it this house on the left?”, You asked.
“Yes, yes it is”, Maya replied.
You pulled into the driveway and let her get out of the car.
She walked towards her door but then looked back at you.
“Would you like to walk Mocha with me?”, Maya asked, smiling.
“Are you sure?”, You replied.
“Of course, you drove me here so you’re more than welcome to stay if you want”.
“Okay, thank you”, You said getting out of the car and walking up to Maya at her door.
She unlocked the door and you walked in to a small but very cozy house.
“It’s so nice in here”, you stated.
“It’s still new so I haven’t finished decorating yet”, She replied, placing her keys in a tray.
She opens the door into the living room and there is Mocha already at the door and wagging her tail.
“Hiii baby”, Maya says in her dog voice sitting on the couch next to Mocha.
“ Mocha this is y/n, she very kindly drove me home today”, Maya said smiling and looking into your eyes.
You sat next to Maya on the couch and Mocha came up to you and wagged her tail wanting you to stroke her.
“I like you”.
“Sorry, what did you say?”, You asked, thinking you’re mishearing things whilst you were playing with Mocha.
“I said, I think she likes you”, Maya replied smiling at you.
“oh y-yeah i can tell”, you said your heart slightly racing from what you thought you heard.
“Good girl”, Maya said, stroking Mocha’s head.
You gulped trying to ignore Maya’s comment.
“Should we go on a walkies?”, Maya said, getting up and getting her lead.
Mocha’s tail wagged even faster as she trotted along following Maya.
“Are you ready to go?”, Maya asked.
“Of course”, You replied smiling and walked to the door.
You walked to a park not far from Maya’s house and it was big with lots of flowers and tall tree’s around the area.
Maya let Mocha off lead so now it was just the two of you walking together.
“How are you finding Manchester?”, You asked her.
“It’s nice, but it rains a lot”.
“I know”, You chuckled, as you have lived here all your life.
“At the moment it’s just me and Mocha living in our house, I feel like a single mum”, Maya said.
“I can always come around and look after Mocha if you need me to”, You replied, giving her a reassuring smile.
“Thank you”.
“You say that a lot”, You said.
“Well you’re being so nice”. Maya said smiling.
You looked into her eyes as she looked back in return.
All of a sudden you feel rain drip down your face.
“Oh great”, You said wiping your head whilst looking up to the sky.
By this time you were already halfway around the park.
“Hopefully it won’t be too bad”, Maya exclaimed.
Not soon later it was torrential.
“Come on mocha”, Maya called out as you were lightly jogging back to Maya’s house.
She put Mocha on lead and the rain got even worse, to the point we could barely see.
“It’s not been this bad in so long”, You said, slightly chuckling as the jog turned into a run to Maya’s house.
By this point all your clothes were drenched as no one brought a coat or an umbrella and it was freezing cold.
As soon as you entered the house all you wanted to do was to take all your clothes off.
Maya unclipped Mocha’s lead to let her dry off as we watched her shake and spread water everywhere.
Maya then tried to take her drenched hoodie off but her shirt got stuck to it. This meant she was only left in her sports bra.
“Oh sorry, sorry”, Maya said quickly, walking to put her wet clothes to the side.
You panicked and realised you had been staring at her for longer than expected.
You noticed how toned her abs were and how defined her arms were. You couldn’t help but feel attracted to her.
“I’ll go and get some dry clothes for us”, Maya said brushing past you to get to the stairs.
As soon as she exited the room you felt so stupid, I bet she doesn’t even like me back, you thought to yourself.
In what felt like seconds Maya was already changed and had brought some dry clothes down for you. Her wet hair was now down by her shoulders instead of the pony tail making her hair curly.
You couldn’t help but smile saying “Thank you”, as you made your way up the stairs.
“My rooms on the left”, You hear her shout from the kitchen.
You turn to the left and open the door that’s in front of you. Her room was big compared to your lousy apartment and it was all tidy and organised. You noticed she had a queen sized bed but there were only picture frames and an alarm clock on one side, not seeming like anyone else had slept on the other side recently.
You started getting changed into Maya’s clothes and you felt so comfy and warm in them noticing they smell just like her.
You bundled your wet clothes together and started walking back downstairs.
You looked for Maya in the kitchen but she wasn’t there. You turned to the living room and noticed she was sitting on the couch with Mocha drinking some tea.
“You can leave your clothes wherever, come and sit down”, she said smiling at you.
You placed your clothes in the kitchen where Maya had left hers and walked to the couch.
“I made you some tea, i’m not sure how you like it so i’m sorry if I messed up, I can make another one if you want”. Maya said quickly.
“It’s perfect”, You replied, feeling the warmth of the mug on your cold hands whilst taking a sip.
“That’s good”, Maya said smiling.
You nodded in response.
“You can stay for as long as you want or until the rain dies down a bit”, Maya said slightly moving towards you.
“That would be great, thanks”.
“You don’t have to thank me”, Maya said.
“Of course I do”, You said moving towards her.
By now your arms were almost touching.
“I feel a lot warmer now”, you said looking at Maya.
Maya turned her head to look at you and looked into your eyes you thought she was about to say something but then her eyes trailed to your lips for a split second but then back up to eyes.
“Y-yeah same”, Maya replied, sipping her tea.
You realised you had already finished your tea so you placed it on the coaster in front of you.
You turned to Maya who was rubbing her eyes.
“You okay?”, you asked her.
“Yes, i’m just tired”, Maya replied, placing her empty mug down in front of her.
“Do you want me to go, so you can rest?”, You asked.
“No it’s okay, you can stay”, Maya said sitting back, her hand then brushing yours.
You then yawned as you felt tired after running back here today.
“Come here”, Maya said, wrapping an arm around your shoulder.
You etched closer to her and leaned against her chest, you instantly felt safe.
All of a sudden you woke up and realised you were now lying on Maya’s lap, you looked up to her and saw that she was asleep however she must have been uncomfortable.
You slowly lift your head up and look across the room to the clock, it is now already 6pm.
A few minutes later you hear a slight movement and realise Maya started to open her eyes.
She looked confused at first but then a small smile came across her face when she saw you.
“How long were we asleep for?”, she asked.
“3 hours”, you chuckled.
“Oh wow, are you hungry?”, We should probably order something to eat”, She said looking at the clock.
“Yes that would be nice”, You replied.
You ended up ordering Chinese as no one could be bothered to cook and sat opposite her at the small table as Mocha was sitting below you.
As soon as you looked outside the window you realised it had stopped raining however the sky was getting dark.
I think Maya noticed this as when she was clearing up the rubbish she had a slightly sad tone on her face, thinking you were going to leave soon.
“I should probably head home soon before it gets too dark”, You said as you felt bad as Maya had been so nice to you and let you stay for awhile, you didn’t want to take up any more of her time.
“Ok that’s fine”, Maya said leaning against the counter.
You got all your things together and headed towards the door.
“Thank you for everything”, you said.
“It’s okay, get home safe”, Maya said leaning against the door.
You turned to face her one more time and just smiled looking into her eyes.
She slowly walked back up towards you to the point you were inches apart.
“I really enjoyed today”, Maya said.
“Same”, You replied, your breath slightly shaky.
Maya then slowly brought you into a kiss, her lips were soft. One of her hands were placed on your cheek as another brushed down your back.
After a few seconds she pulled away, looking into your eyes for your reaction.
“Oh i’m sorry, i’m sorry”, Maya said walking back towards her house.
“Hey, it’s okay”, You said reaching out for her arm, you were just shocked by what just happened.
She turned back towards you.
You leant in and kissed her.
The kiss lasted a few seconds longer and was more passionate.
As soon as you pulled away you regretted it, you wanted to stay with her for as long as possible but you had training the next day so you wanted to get home and get ready for that.
You watched her face as it lit up with a big smile and her cheeks were slightly blushing.
“See you tomorrow”, She winked.
“I assume I can keep your clothes”, You joked.
“Of course, keep them for as long as you want, I don't mind," Maya replied.
“Okay, see you tomorrow”, You smiled walking towards your car.
She watched by the door as you drove off her drive and down the road giving you a wave as you left her sight.
You couldn’t believe what just happened.

IT'S UWCL MATCHDAY! History is set to be made at Leigh Sports Village this evening as United Women face PSG in our first-ever UEFA Women's Champions League outing.
Marc Skinner's side will be looking to make a positive first impression in our opening game of the premier European competition, and build on an unbeaten start to the new WSL season.
Our Round 2 opponents also come into this week's first leg in good form, having won two of their opening three domestic games in Division 1 Feminine.
Rotation is expected for tonight's match, considering that this is the first of three games in nine days. Summer recruits Geyse and Melvine Malard are likely to play a role, with the former winning last season's Champions League with Barcelona before moving to United.
We could be reunited with former Reds Aissatou Tounkara and Jackie Groenen on the night.
Let's do this. Come on United!
