btw i didnt want to disable the ability for people to send links because i love folks having the ability to share art in chat, but the mods and i have decided we may need to do it for safety reasons...

some url shortening sites weve noticed a couple users making use of have features that are capabale of tracking visitor information including things like the users country or IP address, and while every instance we've investigated so far has not been used for that purpose YET, its still too much of a risk that it could happen and be used for nefarious purposes in the future.

tonight we discussed a possible work around that wouldnt put too much strain on the moderators (like manually having to vet every image link, which could put them at risk of seeing something sent with intent to harm)

ultimately we decided to instead accept image submissions through a tumblr blog all of us would have access to, and id do a brief segment at the end of streams to look through submitted art instead of pausing to open links throughout the stream.

im sorry to do so because i know its something people like to do to share their work, but unfortunately its a reality of growing as a streamer... its something im really grateful for but i want to be sure im not putting anyone i care about at risk, and that means you guys too

la!cxs telling lu guang that his 'rules' (past or future mantra) never existed to begin with, demeaning himself saying that lu guang only ever wanted an obedient thing to do his bidding and put cxs through all these missions to manipulate him into being pliant, nothing more than a means to an end rather than a friend.....wow.

it's fascinating because in the donghua lu guang does have this selfish quality (as well as being a massive hypocrite), only it manifests in his breaking of the rules for cheng xiaoshi's sake. in the live action lu guang still lacks the inability to Let It Go, but here we see the effects of his reckless tunnel vision and contradictory convictions on the person he's come to care for, 'his only friend,' and it's heartbreaking to watch.

it truly does feel like we're watching shiguang's growing pains, before they settle into their relationship, before lu guang is so fiercely devoted to cxs that he'll sacrifice anything to save him.

Lu Guang is such a contradiction of a character and I don't mean that in a bad way at all. He talks down on superstitions and yet is somewhat superstitious himself. He wants to control dives down to the second and yet doesn't provide cxs with necessary info despite that making the dives harder to control. He always tells cxs not to change the past and yet he himself is attempting to change cxs's death. He doesn't believe in his own quest and yet he does it anyway.

That contradiction between what he says and what he does. The knowing what's 'right' but not being able to bring himself to follow through because for all he portrays himself as this logical being he is far more emotional than he would like others to know. Than he would like *himself* to know even. So long as he can wrap his justifications up in some superficial logic, he doesn't have to address the emotional tides beneath his actions. But some part of him still knows.
