Alpha Dance Company

Contemporary dance AU. All dancers are alphas, or are they? Lexa Woods worked hard for her place, and cannot bear the the new blonde upstart, Clarke Griffin.

Workplace relationship prompt. On a beautiful tropical island, a doctor with a dark past and the driven producer of the latest in the Survivor series meet ... badly. Can they overcome their differences to save the show and it's contestants from dangerous forces that surround them?

When the cynical leader of the sky people escapes from Anya's custody it's a bad time to be struck down by a mystery illness. When the otherwise uncompromising leader of the coalition finds her and brings her back to Tondisi for treatment it leads to unexpected alliances both personal and between their peoples. Will Clarke make it home in time to ensure peace and be there for her mate at a critical moment in their lives?

Clarke and her daughter are fleeing civilisation into the secretive heartland of the continent where dark magic and mysteries are said to rule. Before she even crosses the mountain range, she finds a remote cottage hidden in the woods occupied by a stranger both mysterious and haunted.

Even though we celebrated 10 years of Clexa this year, I still have so many ideas. While you comment / reblog / kudos and basically keep reading, I'm going to try to keep on writing.

Network Connectivity Issues (ahead by a lot)

A story I'm deeply in love with writing, due to its closeness to my heart and because of the novel way it's written-- which is live on a discord server whenever the mood strikes. Fanfic is typically serialized work, but this feels like...even closer to that immediacy, and it can be quite electric.

5. Do you respond to comments?

I try to! Sometimes it takes me awhile!

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? 

Out of finished fics I suppose it would be The Beloved Prey, though I do have a handful of things I've written to continue that.

Unfinished it would be the unpublished sequel to My Own Echo.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? 

I think maybe The Stones. Magic holding and accepting Jade because of Kit's love for her feels pretty happy.

Oh! And Network Connection Secure. The Cam girls having a proposal moment that's distinctly them? Very sweet and I wrote it for Christmas.

8. Do you get hate on fics? 

Not on these ones!

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? 

Yes, yes I do. The majority of my work contains it. I think the weirdest I've written (so far) is probably Spare the Rod.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I'm not really big on crossovers, so this isn't something I've done. I'll go hard on an AU though.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Nah.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? 

Nope! Translation is an art in itself-- I think I'd find the idea of someone doing that a little daunting?

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? 

Kinda! @swashbucklery, @spybrarian, @commanderbuffy and I have all written pieces in what we call the Kinkverse. It was a brain child of mine that started with The Lesson, but has since become a collaborative writing world. It's been one of the most lovely experiences of my creative life. J has also written some supplemental material for NCI that I adore. @barmaid-anon and I brainstorm deranged plot ideas constantly, and she is my best/worst little gay graphic critic.

14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

I'm going to need to say Tanthamore.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? 

I'm not going to speak this into existence. I'll say that there are a few fics that I have agonized over for a very, very, very, very, very long time.

16. What are your writing strengths? 

I think I get to the point pretty well. I keep action and development moving. I think I do some good figurative language. I trust my instincts on where a story needs to go next.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

The Agonies. The connective tissue between important scenes. Not knowing what to have characters do when they're on their own. Run on sentences. Too many WIPs and not enough commitment.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? 

I haven't ever found it necessary? I guess I feel about it the way I feel about captions for another language. You know when captions will say "speaks in a foreign language?" Bane of my existence. Either translate it or get out of here.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Pretty Little Liars. I was a big Paily fan for awhile there. Those live back on fanfiction.net

20. Favourite fic you’ve written? 

The Past feels really good to write because it pulls together all these threads in my brain for the Kinkverse girls, and it feels very unifying for that vision. It's satisfying connecting the dots.

So... back in the day, there was a clexa writers discord/slack where we hung out and talked shop, and collaborated.. I dont know if that still exists or where it is as I've been gone for quite awhile, but I have the itch to write a story and I'm trying to find a clexa writer who wants to co-create something.

Summary: Lexa has spent months planning the perfect weekend camping getaway so she can propose to Clarke at sunset on a cliffside. But, just like her life, the universe seems to have other plans, and Lexa realizes that perfection cannot be planned.

Summary: Lexa and Clarke have been working together for a month and Clarke is confused on how she feels about the newest member of her team. What happens when she accidentally overhears Lexa having a private, loving, conversation.

Here they are!! The themes for Clexa Pride Week 2020!!

I decided to change things up a little bit this year. Instead of choosing one theme per day, I went with two. There were multiple reasons I decided to do this, first it was because I thought it’d be fun, second because people were going in voting a dozen or more times in a row for one theme (literally in the span of an hour, one theme went from 4 votes to 31...), among other reasons.

So, writers (and artists, creators, whoever wants to participate) here’s what you do. You take a look at the categories for a given day and you decide if you want to do one or if you want to challenge yourself a bit and combine the two. I tried to take one theme that was popular and one that didn’t have someone voting for it over and over again, and combined them for a given day.

Who doesn’t like a little challenge??

Day 1: (June 21) – Artist and Creators Collaboration/Inspiration This is where artist and other creators inspire us with their work! Writers pick a piece and write something that fits it.

Day 2: (June 22) – Royalty/First Pride Is Lexa the queen of some remote country? Is Clarke finally going to attend her first Pride? Or maybe, one of them is a princess and convinces her parents to throw the first Pride in their little country?

Day 3: (June 23) – Sports/I May Have Told (blank) We’re Dating Sports AUs are some of my favorites so I was not mad that this one was popular this year!! One of them is an athlete, the other a doctor/marketing specialist/brand rep. They could be neighbors who rarely speak until one of them lies to their friends about dating the other.

Day 4: (June 24) –Popular/Nerd & Teacher/Professor Who doesn’t dig the popular/nerd trope? Who? They’re in school, or at work, one is beloved and the other is overlooked. Maybe, they’re teachers or professors, maybe they teach the same subject and they’re rivals for publication.

Day 5: (June 25) – Soulmates/Kiss Cam And they were soulmates! I’m pretty sure any of the typical soulmate ideas could fit in with a Kiss Cam scenario. But it’s a fun little twist right?

Day 6: (June 26) – Military/Zombies One of them is a fighter pilot or a tank mechanic. One of them could be in the National Guard. They could meet the love of their life while on leave and have a constant countdown running in their head for when their plane takes off. And zombies! One could be a former infantryman or a medic. Really, the possibilities are endless here.

Day 7: (June 27) – Free Day Pick a theme or trope you don’t see on the list but love. Or send an anon and I’ll think of something for you!!

Dreams of a Fallen Star

The Ark is failing and the Council is desperate to keep control of the last of humanity. In a desperate bid to keep lead engineer Jake Griffin in control, the Council elects to send three of their citizens to Earth in an effort to determine survivability. One of those citizens happens to be Jake's only child, Clarke.

Joined by young mechanic Raven Reyes and the girl who was never meant to be born, Octavia Blake, Clarke is sent to Earth with instructions to survive and make contact with the Ark so her parents and everyone else can follow her down to the ground. When the landing goes wrong and the three young girls discover that all of their beliefs about Earth were wrong, their plan is thrown into chaos.

With the shadow of the mountain looming over the woods and whispers of Azgeda spies lingering in the trees, it will take the collaboration of Clarke, Octavia, Raven, and Heda Lexa, as well as the rest of the grounders, to ensure that when fire falls from the sky again, it will not be the fires of war.

The Summer Harvest - Sneak Peek

“This isn’t a joke, Klark. I worry about-”

“Me? I know.”   

(She wants to ask who worries for Lexa - beside herself of course - but doesn’t.)

The answer is written in the way Lexa holds herself.

She is exhausted. 

It’s not obvious, but Clarke has spent enough time alone with her to get to know the signs. Not in the beginning - not while the mating bite was healing and they didn’t fully trust each other - but after diffidence melted away into routine. 

The rigidity of Lexa’s spine and the near incessant grind of her teeth, the clouded, distant look inside her eyes as if it’s easy to push through whatever hardship as long as she’s several degrees removed from it. Clarke knows what it looks like when Lexa is walking the divide between focus and full collapse - and this is it.
