Good evening, my lovely late night geeks, and welcome back to Makeup Monday! This past weekend my partner @zodarzone I had a splendid time at Cleveland ConCoction, the very best local con for all geeky people. It's a super fun, entirely volunteer+fan staffed, small, laid-back con encompassing all the geek genres they can! This year's theme was Grimm Tales & Faerie Stories, so of course we had to go with our dark and light unicorn costumes. Our makeup was a bit rushed due to time constraints, but I think with enough highlighter, glitter, and a killer lip look you can still knock 'em dead! My fringe sleeve top and leather skirt is from ReDress, and the corset is from OddFellows Leather. The wigs are from Purple Plum and our unicorn horns are from Yaya Han. His outfit is from Black Sheep Latex, and his Scrump purse is from Hot Topic. We had so much fun and we can't wait until next year! Ahhhhh! A potential Class 4 paranormal apparition is breaching the dimensional barrier!! Maybe even a Class 5! Proton guns at the ready! Let's go! Oh. Never mind. It's just Dr. Stephen Strange, (a.k.a. @strangeincle ), Sorcerer Supreme, witty raconteur, book collector, jazzy man about town. No worries, we're buds - he's into that whole mind the gap/protect humanity thing we do. You don't have to mad to work here... but that's how I got started. Tongues out for Holtzmann! I adore mad scientists and Dr. Jillian Holtzmann is the best mad scientist ever. Started with that marvelous Screw U pendant I bought from ReDress, I scrambled this cosplay together at the last minute (I was literally sewing it in panels on Friday night! I luckily got some blonde hairspray from the fabulous @mogchelle and even more luckily borrowed the proton pack from my awesome friend @justicedudas ) it turned out better than great. I loved being my favorite Ghostbuster and apparently so did everyone else - I got asked for a ton of pictures and to be interviewed for a video podcast. (Link for that will be posted when it's released.) Seriously, this is the most comfortable cosplay I've ever done. Super fun!
