You don't have to mad to work here... but that's how I got started. Tongues out for Holtzmann! I adore mad scientists and Dr. Jillian Holtzmann is the best mad scientist ever. Started with that marvelous Screw U pendant I bought from ReDress, I scrambled this cosplay together at the last minute (I was literally sewing it in panels on Friday night! I luckily got some blonde hairspray from the fabulous @mogchelle and even more luckily borrowed the proton pack from my awesome friend @justicedudas ) it turned out better than great. I loved being my favorite Ghostbuster and apparently so did everyone else - I got asked for a ton of pictures and to be interviewed for a video podcast. (Link for that will be posted when it's released.) Seriously, this is the most comfortable cosplay I've ever done. Super fun! Well it depends on what you mean! I get most of my muggle clothes from @redressluvsu, Torrid, Lotus Leggings, sometimes Target or Burlington. Corsets always from @orchardcorset ❤️Undies and bras from City Chic and Torrid. Stockings from @welovecolors and @hipsandcurvesAnd I've done some sewing from patterns as well, like the maroon and green dress from my Mrs Lovett number or the coat from my Like a Boy number. Everything you see as a costume has been partially to heavily modified for stage, with rhinestones, velcro, snaps, fringe, etc. If you're looking for a good fashion blog to follow for lots of tips on shopping check out @readytostare!

Good evening, my glorious party birds, and welcome back to Makeup Monday! This week's Pride look is pretty much the reverse of the last Pride look I wore. In that one, I wore the cooler end of the spectrum on my eyelids and the hotter end under my eyes, and in this one I flipped it. I quite like it a lot either way; to be honest as long as it's a rainbow, I'm going to wear it! The lip is kept mostly nude-ish to let my eye look take the lead. (Products used will listed on the next photo, because holy shit it's a lot.) While we're talking about my ultimate black and rainbow lifestyle, I must point out the superb earrings and incredible dress I got at Re/Dress, the best fatshion house in the world. The purple eyeliner and false lashes could have gone better, but I think I made it work. One of the rare brands with things that could be labeled as “tribal” by normal, less cool brands and they DON’T GO THERE. Phew.

And it’s gleefully happy, like turkey leggings and flowery dresses and ALL THE NEON. And almost always nothing is done in a traditional format. It’s colorful, and breaking rules, and looking so amazingly put together while doing so. ( I am giving them a skull warning for one of their leggings, but beyond that they’re shiny, happy people.)

Sadly, if you’re a size 12 like me, you’re out of luck and probably pouting, because it’s all gorgeous and totally not going to fit you. But you also get most brands to, y’know, already include you in their normal lines. Have your pout and then go look at @readytostare or almost everything else I’ve included in this blog.

So the pictures aren't great (I really need to get the remote for my camera working so that it will focus properly), but I was too impatient to wait before posting these pictures. (Though I will try to retake later on so that you all can get a better view of the clothes. The clothes pictured here are a combination of my own items (purple shirt) and two different Re/Dress purchases.

The first few pictures highlight my recent experience with their (fantastic) flash sale at the end of February. I just happened to be on Facebook at the right time to see their post and snag a pair of red teggings, an adorable navy top with pink polka dots, and the fantastic geometric-patterned black-and-white skirt. 

The order shipped for a fraction of what I expected and came so quickly. And on top of that, I opened the package to find a fun little surprise added in with my purchases --earrings and a lovely handwritten note! (Thank you, Erin!) It's touches like these that really seal the deal when it comes to being a loyal customer. I can't imagine shopping anywhere else these days.

Alright, back to the clothes. Last two items to mention were purchased at their recent Galentine's Day event (so much fun. SO. MUCH. FUN.). I'd been eyeing the Hellbunny crinolines since my first visit to Re/Dress and the navy blue one was the last available so I grabbed it up. For the photo, I actually paired it with an A-line black skirt I had (barely visible underneath the crinoline) as it is a bit see-through. Last but certainly not least is the fantastic cream lace top. It's actually an off-white tank and a matching lace top with short sleeves and a square collar. One of my favorite shirts right now. Makes me feel fun, flirty, and springy despite the frigid polar vortex weather we've been seeing in NEO lately.

The one issue I had was with sizing on the navy/pink shirt, but that's not a reflection on Re/Dress at all. I knew that it was going to be hit or miss as I was just at the top of the size range available and I wanted to take my chances. It is a bit snug across the bust, but not enough that it will stop me from wearing it! :)

Signing off now, but one last (HUGE) final thank you to Rachel, Erin and everyone at Re/Dress (I'm horrible at names, so I know I've got to be missing someone --so sorry!). You all make shopping a joy time and time again. As a fat woman, this is such a rare experience and I am so thrilled that you are in the NEO area. I will be back. Again. And again.
