Walking Cleveland Way, North Yorkshire: what you need to know
Cleveland Way in North Yorkshire is stunning, it's also tough. See here for my guide to walking it (or a part of it)
The Cleveland Way is a 109-mile route through North Yorkshire. It’s a breathtaking combination of heather-coated moors and stunning coastal scenery that brings the walker some of the most exceptional geology you can see in the UK and at the right time of day, seals. Development of the Cleveland Way began in the 1930s and we have the Teeside Ramblers Association to thank for it. It was officially…

At Leisure On The South Cliff (Scarborough)
The Sunday gloomy and showery, we stuck to indoor pursuits, starting in the Art Gallery. Temporary exhibitions entailed ‘In Which Language Do We Dream?’ (photographs of a Syrian family adapting to UK life) and post-war works. Not enamoured by the modern art, we missed the Grimshaw paintings and bought gift shop postcards in consolation. We discussed the merits of permanent works, noting locations…

Cleveland Way & Cinder Track Hike - Whitby & Robin Hood's Bay, England
Tumblr media
We started today off with a climb up the 199 Steps (pictured below) to Whitby Abbey and the trailhead for Cleveland Way to Robin Hood's Bay.

The weather was perfect for the hike along the coast, fantastic views of the countryside and the North Sea:

After 6.5 glorious miles, we arrived at Robin Hood's Bay. We walked into town and had brunch at the Victoria Hotel - lovely views and lovely staff!

On our way into town, we had discovered that the Cinder Track path also goes through Robin Hood's Bay. We decided to walk back to Whitby along this pathway - it was a beautiful walk through the English countryside:

We made it back to Whitby - a wonderful 14 mile walk! We earned a cold one at a local pub - cheers!

these dramatic sillies really decided to create a title track performance starring the perpetual theatre kid as a slutty juliet in a cavaliers jersey blowing the softest kiss to an infatuated romeo in an elegant kimono that wouldn't avert his gaze from her for anything contained in that venue amidst a majestic chiaroscuro effect that transcended all the aspects of baroque art. fucking cleveland

not going to lie as soon as Michael started talking about a first officer my mind jumped to Owosekun and Rhys and when Saru said Booker would make a good XO I was offended on their behalf because the man’s not even technically in starfleet

Every time I remember the "single dad here 😉" scenes with Don I think about the conversation I had with someone after ep 4, about how this season Loki kept being put in positions to choose between alternatives and always chose Mobius, to the point that it felt like it was building to a final choice that Mobius would be central to. And the person went 'eh that would be nice, but Mobius has "wife and kids on the timeline" energy written all over him :/'
So that possibility was front of my mind when Loki approached Don, and my heard did in fact sink at 'your son's on the line', but then !!!!!
Right!??? What's so wild is I think we all collectively kind of decided there was the smallest possibility Mobius could've had a tragic life on the timeline but that it was way more likely Marvel would go the obvious route of him being some guy with the obvious white picket fence, 2.5 kids life and went in a little resigned to seeing what might happen but. Then Don "single dad here can I get you a drink 😉" happened and let me tell you I'll be chasing that high for the rest of my life 😂😂

Andre Braugher and the best line deliveries of all time in the worst movies of all time
There is a movie called A Better way to die and it is hot trash.
A Better Way to Die is written, directed and stars Scott Wiper. For some reason Scott's character is assumed to be in possession of a thumb drive that evil Lou Diamond Phillips wants and a bloody chase is had across what I assume to be southern Indiana.
It's bad.
Tumblr media
The only thing good about this movie is Andre Braugher who plays hired gun Cleveland. Cleveland and his cousin Sweet Lou are hired as henchmen.
Braugher is fucking great.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Cleveland's employer has just implied that wearing a bullet proof vest is gay)
His vest by the way has his name on it. Also, everyone in this movie dies, except Cleveland who is saved by the vest.
Braugher gets all the best lines and treats this garbage fire like it deserves some gravitas.
My favorite line, the one I used to shout out whenever Braugher appeared in anything is "YOU CAN'T STOP ME MOTHAFUKKAAA!"
Yes, delivered with his head sticking through drywall and laughing with a gun pointed at him.
And as you probably know by now Andre Braugher died yesterday. Maybe you first found him through Homicide or Brooklyn 99 but for me it was this amazing actor in this garbage movie.
RIP Cleveland, I still believe the motherfuckers can't stop you.
