So the next two Gerald R. Ford Class aircraft carriers will be named USS WILLIAM J. CLINTON (CVN-82) and USS GEORGE W. BUSH (CVN-83) was announced by President Biden.

Honestly, it's disappointing to see yet another carrier named after a politician. I was hoping for another Lexington, Saratoga, Midway or something other than a president or politician but I guess that's what we're left with these days.

The next Columbia class submarine will be named USS GROTON (SSBN-828), bucking the trend for ballistic missile submarines named after states or districts.

Instead, the name Intrepid is going to a Flight III Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyer (DDG-145).

i get that profs have personal lives and cant always be super punctual about grading but on GOD it has been 3 weeks since the midterm Please i just want to know if i'm going to fail this fucking class

i'm DONE!!!! everything is FINISHED!!!! and TURNED IN!!!!!

#also i got an 83 on my exam today (which i get 5 bonus points on so that's an 88)#which means i have an A overall in that class which means i've still got that sweet sweet 4.0 #which ALSO means i've still got that sweet sweet academic scholarship #technically i only need a 3.5 or above to keep the scholarship but if i have anything less than a 3.8 i'm basically failing #<- guy who had a 4.2 weighted gpa in high school and must forever live up to those standards

Anyone else ever just have the most stupid hyperfixations? Like when I was 15 or 16 I was so obsessed with the element bismuth that you could not have a fucking conversation with me without learning some fact about it or me pulling out my phone to show you how it crystallizes.

#i usually get ~83-87% on the chapter tests for my spanish class but this time i got an 89%#this is most likely because we were told to review specific exercises in the book bc the test questions would be based on them & i did that #and then at one point the professor was unusually charitable & gave hints for the number of letters in a fill in the blank part of the tes #also one of the questions was just really easy anyway

interim rabbi is gonna do adult hebrew lessons and the rebbitzen speaks ladino hell yeah brother

#next year i am learning languages like crazy #also my old hebrew school teacher came to services recently and said he still thinks about me #so im gonna reach out to him about yiddish lessons at some point too bc he's fluent #he was really great- fascinating life story too #he's from Lithuania and his village growing up had no synogauge bc of the shoah and everyone leaving #so he had his bar mitzvah at 83 at our synogauge and it was really beautiful #and bc the rest of my bar mitzvah class was very behind on hebrew #he taught me how to speak a little bit while they studied the aleph bais and practiced reading

wah. now i get to hope that my professor gets on the partial credit thing soon so i dont have a meltdown. yay

#red rambles #18/25 isnt awful its not awful its not.#i did the math on the questions i can get partial credit on and its possible for me to go up to a 21/25 though. which will put me on much #safer ground vis a vis not getting a fucking B- and thus iced out of my program though #love when professors are like here is our breakdown you can get 25 points on 3 exams and 25 points for total homework done and that's all t #the possible points with no extra credit or makeup opportunities also i will give extremely difficult exams and if you make any mistakes #while reading you're fucked.#im literally retaking this class. i took it last spring and would've done okay IF I WAS ALLOWED TO GET A FUCKING B-#i need to specifically get over 83% total points.#i was on track for. if i did everything else right. 82.25 #when i finally gave up and was like fuck it ill just get my other classes done and coast here #because there was no way for me to get a grade higher than a fucking 82.#i DO NOT WANT TO SEE THAT HAPPEN FUCKING AGAIN. i will be PISSED if that fucking happens AGAIN #ok im seethign im gonna go make myself a FUCKING cake with these stupid fucking beets now #i dont even like beets.
