Day 7: Tonight we are having a 2020 Clare Valley Riesling. Yes, it's very young, so I had it decanted for about 2 hours before enjoying. Decanting whites is great as it helps release aromatics and blow off some sulfur, especially when they're young. Aromas of lemon sherbet, hard boiled candy, lemongrass and hints of white florals. The palate is still shy, but shows promiseing notes of yellow fruits, lemons and limes. The acid is medium plus and has a long and crisp lingering finish. Definitely needs time in the bottle, 1-2 years and it will be a cracker! Construction has commenced in the past weeks at Clare Bike Park and we’re pushing forwards to completion. The jumps are in with the return rollers and pump track to go. We’ve had varied weather conditions, so it is SUPER IMPORTANT to remember this is a construction site and it is not permitted to enter nor ready to ride until the fences are down. We are excited to show you the final concept designs for the Clare Bike Park in Clare, South Australia. What has proven to be a successful draft design consultation, 84% of you and the community were in favour of the upgraded design we came up with. Although we couldn’t fit in all of the desires and inclusions due to budget constraints, these have been flagged for future upgrades by council. This project is starting construction next month. PLEASE READ! If you’re riding any of our dirt facilities and you damage anything that’s cool, it happens and we understand getting used to your new trails takes time. What is expected if you damage anything is repair it! It is frowned upon in the trail community to leave it for someone else or the next rider to deal with. So please repair what you have damaged, don’t make it someone else’s responsibility. We work extremely hard to deliver these quality spaces for your riding pleasure. We provide the necessities for you to repair it, so no excuses, parents are included in this too! Once we hand over to council, this is your community asset and facility, look after it and it will be fun and enjoyable for years to come. As seen above a chain ring and crank arm have damaged the take off. Whilst it appears minimal, this 100 times over has a severe impact on the jump. Where if 100 people repaired it it would get better! Ride within your abilities and if you’re not comfortable jumping something or riding up the steep take offs, please do attempt to do so. It damages it for the next guy and takes away from their experience. For the avoidance of doubt check the facility guidelines signage for terms of use. But we do wish to highlight that these facilities are for non-motorised bicycle disciplines only. The fences are down and the Clare Bike Park is officially open!! ☀️ 🚴 The locals are already keen and hitting it. Thank you to @clareandgilbertvalleys and @yaccgvc for having us. It’s been a pleasure. We’ve sealed the track and installed a hose reel for public maintenance. We’ve also put in some new bench seating for those that wish to chill and watch the action. These are made from recycled and reclaimed materials saving 306kgs going into landfill! Thank you for respecting our work and don’t forget to share or tag us when you’re riding it!
