Kamo Akemi has known the weight of responsibility attached to her name ever since she learned to walk. She wasn't from a very important branch, but she knew that the clan wasn't the kindest to her; her mother was only "treated better" because of her unique abilities, which the clan hoped had been passed down to her on some level.
Having the surname Kamo means "Power and influence" in the society of which your family is a part, they may not have the greatest destructive power among all the clans but they were one of the clans with the greatest influence and weight in decisions in Japanese jujutsu society, they were not a clan of fighters like the Zenin, nor were they kept in power by virtue of two abilities that had an almost zero chance of appearing in a child of the clan at the same time like the Gojo clan, no, the Kamo are a clan of diplomats
It is a well-known fact in jujutsu society that "A Kamo could talk his way out of a murder" or that "A Kamo could commit a crime in front of you, and still convince you of his innocence". Kamos are trained in the art of diplomacy and persuasion from the moment they speak, and Kamo Akemi is no different.
Even though she spent time divided between her father and mother, Akemi was still a member of the Clan and would be taught as such! And so she was, taught alongside the other girls for years, until she reached the age at which she had to develop her cursed technique.
When the clan stopped pretending that she didn't perceive the cursed techniques of the other members, that she didn't see curses or feel any change with the use of cursed energy from the people around her, that's when the clan finally acknowledged the fact that Kamo Akemi didn't possess a shred of cursed energy.
And that changed everything.
Akemi only spent a month being treated as a pariah in the clan, and it was the worst month of her life. Her greatest luck was her father.
Akemi's father was an American who had a one-night stand with a beautiful woman in a bar that ended up resulting in a small life, Pedro is an upright man and when the mother of his daughter showed up at his small apartment telling him about the pregnancy he gave her his full support at every stage of the pregnancy, Pedro and Amane didn't love each other, they both recognize and accept this, so it was agreed that little Akemi would be raised by Amane and her family and would visit Pedro whenever possible.
When his little girl came into his apartment crying on her desperate mother's lap, Pedro knew that something had happened since they had last visited, his daughter was no longer safe with Amane's relatives, and getting her to leave her clan was an impossible job, so they went with the best solution.
Amane packed her daughter's bags while Pedro took her to prepare documents and went over with Akemi as much English as he could teach her in the meantime, both of them moving to the United States as soon as possible.
Akemi watched her house get smaller and smaller, insecure and scared, from the airplane window as she shuffled the Tarot deck for beginners that her mother had bought for her as a farewell present. The young girl of 8 watched helplessly as her life, family and everything she knew was left behind.
She took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and exhaled slowly as she remembered all the lessons she had learned from the clan.
Kamo Akemi stayed in Japan, now she was Amelia Rose, or Amy for short, returning to the United States with her father and, if her mother's reading was right, finding a family and love there too.

There is absolutely no sane world in which we should have to endure a Biden-Trump rematch 🙄
How did the worst candidates manage to do this well? Other than name recognition????
Seriously how did this happen other than the establishment of both parties trying to throw support to the candidates they thought were “safer” in the most out of touch way possible! Did they not poll people about which candidates they actually wanted? Because literally everyone I have spoken to across the political spectrum is not happy with either candidate? I wrote in a leftist candidate named Cornel West who was running as an independent in the primaries and I guess that’s as productive a vote as any at this point 🤷🏼‍♀️. It kind of feels like for the primaries the vote doesn’t even matter this time because they purposely set it up this way. It doesn’t seem very democratic does it?
I should clarify that voting in the general election is still important to at least hopefully get some progressive candidates in the house of representatives and in the senate. That could be vital to protecting ourselves from another coup.
Let’s also not forget that there were WOMEN candidates running in both major parties (Williamson-D, Haley-R) who were not neck deep in the grave that were passed over for older men.

so sad that everone who posts about naruto in any politcal way is a 'sasuke was right truther' and doesnt want to look into how messy kishmotos politcs were from the start.
the uchias were the cops of kohnah, like the internal police force who its impiled were the ones also dealing with civiians. that and so uch of there belief that they should rule kohna is based on the same bloodline shit as the hyguas. cool powerful kekei genkei, whicho our clans thinks is the best kekei genkai in the villiage means its our birthright to rule over all the other all the ninjas and civillians.
this obivously doesn't justify the genocide and the further into naruto we go, we get the whole messy history the villiage and some uchia opression and idk. the complete messiness of everything that happens in naruto and early shippuden is much more intresting to me, then the whole 'uchias right' or 'sasuke was right'. when like his whole deal is beliving in the blood line supremacy myth of the uchias and thinking the normal civillian popuplation is useless. that and deeply traumatised child of genocide by brother.
then again i am half remembering alot of this shit and like naruto has never fully had a proper idological consitent word view, that doesn't end in the whole retcon nothing realy changes ending.
i just think the 'sasuke was right' people in the modern fandom also tend to erase alot of fun shit and kinda genocidal bits out of sasuke and his character arc.

re-reading warrior cats n its like. what if u werent white as writers? what if the positioning of medicine cats as one of the (few) speakers w starclan (literally dead spirits.!), being one of the (few) cats that understand n have herb/medecinal knowledge n also being both on the outskirts of sm of clan life while also embedded right in the core of it bc no clan can survive without a med cat was actually explored in varying interesting ways. esp bc the writers CLEARLY dont know what to do ab disability other than 'ur positioned to taking care uwu' or 'die'..........................which like....ok. lame. loser. dumb tokenizing position of interesting dynamics n archtypes.
sum1 on reddit is like 'what if a medicine cat went evil' n like GHATS interesting to me. making fake signs n weaponizing starclan against a clan. also could parallel how doctors n nurses literally treat patients n esp disabled ones like SHIT like they know better n never listen. n the whooole arc could be in dedication to making all the clans realize they need to reconcile w the abelism they clearly keep engaging in bc the med cat couldve never done whatever evil they did without having a preexisting foundation for it. an examination of the warrior code in general. of the culture. bc its so clear the book is a white savior understanding of indigenous culture so its attempting to deviate from the western lens of 'if ur not useful ur useless' by having things like 'we take care of elders n kits!' but even still the authors clearly havent understood the concept properly bc that code still embodies the capitalist notion of 'usefulness'. 'we protect the kits so we have a useful cat in the future that can Protect the Clan. we care for the elder bc they Served Us' n when a clan doesnt its seen as >:( (rightfully bc u SHOULDNT kick out elders n kits..) but like...the basis for it is that u shouldnt do it bc its a *life*. thats it. n if the clans understood that then the books couldve explored the concept of kittypets n rogues in various ways outside of just '>:( ur not one of us!!1!!' esp in relation to fascism. couldve explored rogues in specific territories continuing to be rogues/loners but engaging during specific times (like winter - easier to survive in a crew) or occasional rogues teaching specific tricks or whatever. also couldve explored the concept of like...roaming rogues. cats that exist outside of borders n roaming btwn all clans sharing info much like a merchant or smth. inevitably this leads to a 'this cat is violating the warrior code!1! its a spy!' which once again makes the clans have to sit w themselves n be like...what is the purpose of our code? what is the politc behind it? what parts r relevant and what parts arent anymore? or a plot where a rogue cat is specifically given starclan powrs n literal job is to roam btwn the clans n like. try to keep the peace. maybe a medicine cat gets >:( n is like ur undermining my authority....i'll kill u!!!! n like ok lets explore THAT as an insecutity bc medicine cats arent above evil they arent like inherently ~special~ theyre literally just. cabs.
back to the disabled cat thing its like. disabled ppl have embodied a lot of thigns. sometimes theyve wanted to do a Thing n learned how to accomodate their needs which we do lowkey see w the first arc (prophecy begins) w lostface --> brightheart n other times they become writers/storytellers n artists or whatever. which goes back to another question of like...clan culture. its so clear that the writers base a lot of clan n writing off of real human culture but also they keep it pretty simple n change things around as necessary for plot which is like. ok. what if this silly little ficitonal universe did get fleshed out? what if the writers actually did have the guts to like explore how misogyny?? shows up in a group of fucking fictional cats. how liberalism keeps paving the way for loser fascists. etc.

“MOMOCHI TANBA, THE IGA’S GRANDMASTER… HE’S CRUEL, BRUTAL; A NATURAL BORN KILLER”
Tumblr media
                       OVERVIEW
NAME: momochi tanba ALIAS(s): too many. AGE: biologically in 40’s BIRTH: 1600’s ORIGIN: japan CLASS: assassin EYES: gold HAIR: black HEIGHT: 5'8"default, but always changing ALIGN: neutral evil ENNEAGRAM: 8w7 MBTI: ENTP-A
STORY
Born into one of Iga province’s greatest shinobi clans– the Momochi– Yasumitsu was the youngest of his four siblings, and was not particuarly favoured by his father at birth. Having three sons already, more than enough to ensure the stability of his family line, Yasumitsu’s father had hoped for a daughter, one he could eventually use as a politcal tool, and recieving yet another son did not sit well with him. In all likelyhood, Yasumitsu would have been carted off to a monastary once he was old enough to speak, having no use to his family, at least in his father’s eyes, but destiny would have greater plans for the boy.
A great plague would one day strike the province, tearing through households like a raging fire, and the Momochi clan was not spared from the blaze. Each of Yasumitsu’s elder brothers perished to the blistering infection, dying slow, agonizing deaths, to which their father could do nothing but watch. Not Yasumitsu, though; strangely enough, this disease never touched the boy, even while those around him dropped like flies. When all was said and done, and the last of his brothers slipped away from this world, Yasumitsu was left as his father’s only male heir. The father had mixed feelings on this matter, wishing that it was Yasumitsu who perished instead, but like it or not, his father knew what this meant– Yasumitsu was the Momochi clan’s future.
For the rest of his childhood and later teenage years, Yasumitsu lived Kashiwara Castle, where he studied tirelessly under the tutelage of his father. Trained and conditioned in the ways of the Iga-ryu, Yasumitsu, to his father’s surprise, excelled in all areas, magic especially, and by age seventeen, he was regarded as one of Iga province’s fiercest, and brightest, a true shinobi prodigy if there ever was one. There was great hope for this to-be leader of the Momochi clan, and when Yasumitsu’s father finally passed away under ‘mysterious’ circumstances, Yasumitsu set in motion a series of events that would change Iga province forever.
Taking the name Tanba Momochi, he immediately called for a grand council of Iga’s three great shinobi clans, and there, they deliberated for four days straight. Tanba’s goal was to bring Iga’s great houses together under a single banner, to truly combine their strength and end the days where they played second to Nihon’s other major powers. Iga province had been effectively indepenent for quite some time already, but Tanba wanted to see Iga become a force to be reckoned with, a force that could potentially rule all of Nihon one day.
There was great resistance to Tanba’s idea of course, and with good reason– working toward what he proposed would set many eyes upon Iga, and could easily put it in great danger. In the end, however, Tanba’s charismatic nature won out, and for the first time in history, Iga’s three great shinobi clans, the Momochi, the Hattori, the Fujibayashi, and the smaller retainer clans beneath them, stood united under one cause, one banner, and one leader– Tanba himself. Being elevated to the post of Sōdai-shinobi (Grand Shinobi) by the heads of the Hattori and Fujibayashi, and self styling himself as the ‘Shinobi King’, Tanba set out on making his goal a reality, becoming a feared prescence across all of Nihon through his machinations, fighting prowess, and command of magecraft, although the eventual rise of a certain warlord in Owari– Oda Nobunaga– would end up setting the stage for a war more difficult than originally expected.
For years, Tanba would go on to work against Nobunaga and their allies, even working behind the scenes to string together a coalition of warlord’s to oppose the Demon King at one point. In the end, however, Tanba’s hubris would spell the end for him and many of his people. Tanba’s actions and ambitions, you see, had not gone without notice, and inevitably, he ended up drawing too much attention to Iga, putting them in the direct sights of many, including Nobunaga, who, by 1580, had either killed or subjagated most of their enemies– save Tanba.
Isolated and surrounded on all sides, Iga was invaded by a vengeful Nobunaga in 1581, and in the fighting across the province that followed, Tanba and his forces were thoroughly routed. Wheter Tanba himself was killed in the fighting or escaped is unclear, but what was clear was that he vanished from the pages of history afterword.
PERSONALITY
An eccentric who’s as kind as he is twisted and egotistical, “complicated” would be the easiest way to describe Momochi Tanba. Cordial and upbeat with those he encounters, and at times prodigal with his wealth, it would be easy to mistake Tanba for a genuinely “good” person, an undeniably strange person on account of his odd and at times over the top mannerisms, but a good one nonetheless. Stick around Tanba long enough, however, and one will quickly see how morally bankrupt the man truly is behind his smiles, pleasantries, and quirks. That’s not to say that what Tanba presents to others is a front, it isn’t, what you see (in most situations) is what you get with him, but his affability and eccentricities can easily be overshadowed by the more troubling aspects of his character.
Tanba is someone who can be deceptively intelligent and astute, being able to think quickly and efficiently on his feet with unparalleled wit in any given situation, making it a mistake to write him off as a “fool”. An even greater mistake, however, would be to write Tanba off as “harmless”, for he is anything but. Tanba is, in every sense of the term, a ruthless murderer, one who takes great joy in spilling the blood of others, often brutalizing his targets in displays that show a disturbing lack of humanity. Tanba’s standards on who or what he kills can be inconsistent, but he is generally open to and okay with killing anything and anyone if he see’s the need or feels the desire to, be it man or woman, enemy or bystander, human or beast– it matters not, if someone is his opponent, they are in his way, or if he just happens to be bored, he will kill them, and he will most likely enjoy it to the fullest extent.
The ego on this man is another issue entirely– it’s not the most deplorable facet of Tanba’s psyche by far, but it can be seen as problematic. Believing himself to be, quite literally, of higher status than everyone around him, Tanba automatically assumes that those he encounters are lesser than he is in every conceivable way. Tanba doesn’t make it a point to flaunt this idea in the faces of others all day and night, and he’s certainly not above paying someone compliments about their own skills, but he has no problems with letting others know of his superiority when he believe’s its necessary. By extension of his own ego, Tanba believes that shinobi in general are superior to everyone else, especially samurai, it just happens that he is the most superior shinobi.
Tanba is also highly ambitious, harboring a dream that, if fulfilled, would give birth to a world where shinobi reigned supreme, with him seated upon a throne as ruler of humanity. Tanba is extremely passionate about this dream, and if you spend any amount of time around him, it won’t be unheard of for him to mention it. However, Tanba’s passion for this dream usually translates into him killing others to make it a reality, meaning he leaves quite a trail of blood behind in his wake.
Looking past everything else, deep down Tanba is someone who struggles with his emotional connections to others. Tanba is more than capable of forming platonic bonds, but when dealing with bonds of the romantic nature, he experiences great difficulties. Tanba’s fumbling and awkwardness when romance is involved aside, he struggles with romantic “love” itself. “Loving” someone in the romantic sense has proved near impossible for Tanba despite his best attempts and desires to return the feelings of his various partners. Tanba is someone who wants to love, but the strings of his heart play a tune he and others often fail to understand. Tanba’s inability to deal with the troubles that stem from his romantic failings– like his tendency to run from those problems and the people he is involved with– only make things worse, but if his heart ever truly settles on another, he will never, ever let go.

SKILLS
MASTER OF THE IGA RYU: EX DUAL LEGEND: C CHARISMA: B EYE OF THE MIND (TRUE): B BATTLE CONTINUATION: A GOLDEN RULE (AMBITION): B+ PRESCENCE CONCEALMENT: EX
SKILLS (in depth)
Master of the Iga-ryu: Iga-ryū (伊賀流, “the Iga School”) is a historical school of ninjutsu, according to Japanese legend. It became one of the two most well-known ninja schools in Japan, along with the Kōga-ryu. An art that taught mental, physical and magical techniques, Tanba’s degree of mastery and innovation in every one of it’s facets broke the limits of what was thought possible and then some– he may as well have reinvented the art himself.
As a servant, this skill serves as the overall representation of that mastery, allowing Tanba the use of powerful shinobi magecraft, the use of Kuji-in, the knowledge to use a wide array of weaponry and tactics, and the ability to create / summon items suited to his profession in life (those of which can affect servants, but are more effective against masters or in stealth situations). Dual Legend: According to legend, Momochi Tanba and Fujibayashi Nagato (one of Iga’s other great shinobi) were the same person, with the latter being one of Tanba’s many aliases, and while this is not true, their personal legends have still become mixed as a result, allowing them to benefit from one another’s individual reputations in the form of empowerment (rank up’s to each parameter, not counting personal skills, class skills, or noble phantasms), and a higher leveled Saint Graph. Charisma: A composite Skill consisting of a person’s charm as well as the natural talent to command or unify an army or country. Assassin first displayed this charisma when he was able unify Iga province without bloodshed, and displayed it time and time again as he led his people throughout the Sengoku Period. Eye of The Mind (True): A heightened capacity for observation, refined through training, discipline and experience. Eye of the Mind (True) is a danger-avoidance ability that utilizes the intelligence collected up to the current time as the basis in order to predict the opponent’s activity and change the current situation. This is not a result of talent, but an overwhelming amount of combat experience. A weapon wielded by none other than a mortal, gained through tenacious training. So long there is even a 1% chance of a comeback, this ability greatly improves the chances of winning. Battle Continuation: A Skill that allows for the continuation of combat after sustaining mortal wounds, and a skill that also reduces the mortality rate from injury. This Skill represents the ability to survive and/or the mentality of one who doesn’t know when to give up, consisting of one’s strength of vitality in predicaments.
The best result is achieved when a resilient body is combined with this Skill. Tanba’s ranking in this skill is a result of his reputation for surviving/fighting through wounds or situations that would have killed most other people.
Golden Rule (Ambition): Firstly, this skill represents the fortune Asassin was able to acure in life, and how he lavishly spent or used it in some way on himself, his land, and his people. Seconldy, it represents Assassin’s sheer ambition, in regards to how relentlessly he pursued his goals, either for his own benefit or for the benefit of Iga, regardless of the challenges he faced.
It is a passive composite skill, and as a result of it, Assassin is afforded two boons– first, Assassin is never without access to great wealth (this wealth usually being in the form of pure gold). Secondly, thanks to this skill, Assassin recieves a temporary boost to his END parameter (+ modifier) after talking about and/or boasting about his ambitions– i.e, his desire to rule the world or anything related to it. (yes his ego is so big that it can literally somewhat empower him, crazy right?).
Presence Concealment: This skill is the capacity to hide one’s presence as a Servant. In life, Assassin shared an affinity with the shadows that could scarcely be matched, with it being said he and the shadows were at times one and the same. Assassin was never seen or detected if he did not wish to be, not once, even when he came up against the most keen minds or greatest of magical defenses. As a servant, Assassin’s presence, at his ranking, is completely hidden at all times, outside of combat or otherwise, making perfect sneak attacks always possible, though servants with Instinct or other supernatural abilities like Clairvoyance are far more likely to snuff those attacks out before they land. A target’s luck parameter, if high enough, may also cause Assassin’s otherwise ‘perfect’ sneak attacks to fail, even if he is not detected.
As a result of his ranking in this skill, Assassin’s paramaters, skills, and even true class designation, cannot be reliably viewed by outside sources, save for those with the skill True Name Discernment, although Assassin can still evade this with a successful luck check.
NOBLE PHANTASMS
Getsuruitō - Sword of Lunar Tears (Massacre by Moonlight) Anti-Unit/Anti-Army C ~ A++ Said to have originally been forged by the moon god Tsukuyomi, it is a katana-like blade that was passed down between leaders of the Momochi clan, and was bestowed upon Tanba when he became head of his family. When activated by the phrase ’watch now as the moon weeps; Getsuruitō!’, this noble phantasm gains the ability to manipulate moonlight and the shadows it casts, allowing it a number of effects. This noble phantasm’s power and ranking vary depending on what phase the moon is currently in.
The Thousand Golden Blades  Anti-Unit / Anti Army D They are kunai-shaped daggers with golden trimmings (simmilar to the Dirk’s used by the Hassan) that Assassin uses as throwing weapons or for close melee. They are noble phantasms of the passive nature, their blades inflicting a devastating poison-like effect upon enemies, but they are weak enough to be deflected by most magical armours. They are most effective when used in mass, and can utilized in such a way easily, with Tanba being able to multiply their number whenever they are thrown at a target if he wishes. The Thousand Golden Blades are especially effective during surprise attacks, too, though Tanba can utilize them in just about any combat situation with deadly skill. Hensōjutsu - The Seven Ways of Going (Art of the Many-Faced Crow) Anti-unit (self) A++ While Assassin has access to a wide array of ninjutsu based magecraft, this specific area was converted into one of his noble phantasms due to his sheer level of skill in this particular area. Hensōjutsu itself is the art of disguise and impersonation, but in life, Tanba took it to levels never seen before him. Tanba did not just disguise himself as a foe or impersonate them with simple shapeshifting, he used ancient, taboo magic that hailed from the Age of Gods to change his being and literally become them.
As a servant, Assassin need only look upon a target and hear their voice once to assume their complete identity, while also gaining the skills, powers, and/ or noble phantasm’s they have displayed despite not truly possessing them himself (though skills/powers/noble phantasm’s he hasn’t witnessed a target use will remain out of his grasp until he see’s them). Replicating the effects of noble phantasm’s beyond the anti-unit classification is also not possible (unless he is within his cultre sphere), though Assassin can still use them at anti-unit capacity, regardless of the noble phantasm’s actual classification. This Noble Phantasm’s ability to let Assassin assume different forms or identities extends far beyond human targets as well, giving it a wide variety of applications in truth.
Being 'killed’ while assuming the likness of someone else does not kill Assassin himself, but it will force him back to his normal appearence, and leave him in a severely injured state. It can be partially utilized without a chant, and is technically always active for Assassin in a passive-effect sense, but to activate its true power, Assassin must speak the phrase 'This crow has many faces, as the world will soon see; Writhe in fear, for I now walk the Seven Ways of Going’.
Tsuki no kage (Shadow of the Moon)  Anti-unit (self) B At one point crafted by the same deity responsible for Getsuruitō, this set of light armour was passed down between leaders of the Momochi clan, and like Getsuruitō, it was bestowed upon Tanba when he became head of his family. From dusk till dawn, this armour will completely protect the wearer from projectile attacks, hostile magical attacks/effects (including those dealt by noble phantasm’s), curses, and from the effects of poison, with the arm and shin guards in particular resisting all manners of damage. However, weapon’s, magic’s, poisons, and beings of demonic nature can bypass these defenses with ease.

i took a break from writing this past week and will probably not do much this week either but in the meantime i have prepared a loose naruto au for your enjoyment.
Okay so the crux of this is instead of committing the massacre Itachi just murders danzo with the help of a couple other rogue root agents, distributes copies of danzos files on root and the plans for the uchiha massacre to the masses and then vanishes to become a missing nin.
This has HUGE political knock on effects for konoha, the first of which being the uchiha coup technically succeeds. It's not really a coup because after ROOT's theft of clan children and plans to exterminate the uchiha clan become public knowledge the uchiha receive wide ranging clan support, most notably from the Hyuuga. The third hokage steps down to avoid long protracted internal conflict that would only end up opening konoha up to being preyed upon by the other villages and Fugaku becomes hokage. He has a remarkably productive but short term as hokage either being ousted by other clans whose solidarity with the uchiha only lasted so long or dying to orochimaru in the konoha crush I havent decided. His most notable accomplishments include dismantling ROOT, increasing clan power and rights in Konoha government, and granting the military police more investigative powers.
Sasuke is still outcasted due to being the only remaining son of possibly the most controversial Hokage, and the brother of the most controversial konoha missing nin. Most ninja see Itachi's murder of Danzo as justified but disagree vehemently with his choice to release Danzo's documents to anyone not a high ranking ninja or clan head. It was the biggest leak of sensitive data in the history of the hidden villages and greatly eroded the average konoha citizen's trust in their government and severely impacted Konoha's standing on the world stage opening them up both attacks and job stealing from other villages. Much of Fugaku's term was spent fighting high profile foreign ninja both as a publicity stunt and out of necessity.
Now less of the politcal and more of personal. One of the results of Uchiha power is that Kakashi is WAY less politically powerful now and is immediately removed from ANBU. Yamato takes his place in the ranks as senior ANBU captain and heavy hitter. The Uchiha also really want Obito's eye removed from Kakashi but I want him to keep it so I'm gonna say Itachi extracted some sort of freaky brain genjutsu promise from Kakashi and the Uchiha's to protect Sasuke at all costs and the power boost from the sharingan justifies Kakashi keeping it. He spends a lot of time brooding, running low stakes missions, and hanging out with Gai and as such is more well adjusted than canon when he becomes team 7s sensei.
Naruto remains largely the same, but he does end up benefiting from orphan programs that were established to support former ROOT agents integrating into regular ninja life.
As I said before Sasuke is still a weirdly hero worshipped outcast but this time with a largely absent father and mother due to their jobs which means whatever the hell his bond with Naruto is in canon remains. He also still has intensely complicated feelings towards Itachi because of both Itachi's politcal actions and the fact that Itachi still genjustsu tortured him before he left because Itachi is unable to divorce trauma from power due to uchiha bullshit.
Sakura still has a massive crush on Sasuke but this time it's more of a transferred hero worship of Itachi due to her being immersed in the civilian view of the event at home. Her opinions of Itachi also make her a little unpopular with the ninja family kids but Ino still stands by her.
Hinata is even worse here because due to the increased political power of the Hyuuga clan she is under even more pressure to be the perfect heir than in canon. She is intensely neurotic and paralysed by fear and Kurenai deserves a medal for turning her into a semifunctional person let alone ninja.
Neji has a weird combo of his canon view of the world and the Itachi event in that he sees Itachi's missing nin status as punishment for doing the right thing and that certain people are always doomed to suffer no matter how just their actions.
Itachi is on kind of a parallel journey to Kakashi where he's super fucked up and wandering the elemental nations trying to figure out who he is outside of ROOT, Konoha, and his clan. He's also having crises of whether he did the right thing and obsessing over sasuke constantly. IDK if he joins akatsuki or not. Basically he's pathetic emotionally but curb stomping everyone who actually tries to fight him.
I have no idea why Tobi/Madara helped Itachi massacre the Uchiha in canon so i don't know what he's doing about it in the AU.

one wanted connection has been added to the page !
OLYNNA ARRYN  (  synnove karlsen  )  is  in  search  of  their  BETROTHAL  (  romantic ).  they  are  around  28-33  and  might  look  like  ben barns, joshue stradowski, oliver jackson-cohen, mena massoud, theo james, arnas fedaravicius, utp.  it  is  required  to  message  them  before  applying  (  @courageoussly ).  olynna is the oldest daughter of house arryn and her father has been bidding his time to trade her for the best politcal advantage he can find. the betrothal would be preferably to a great house, but a noble house with big political advantage could also work. another idea that would be cool to see is diving into the clans, perhaps they have evolved and to keep the peace treaty with the arryn's olynna could be used as a peace coin to the head of such clans. the union would be a marriage contract of sorts, and olynna would be entirely against it. how the person feels towards the union is completely utp and can be plotted together.

What outfit elements denote that they are noble? :O
hi this is very surface level bc im not japanese nor do i have any knowledge of like japanese history relating to nobles But this is just what i know from Looking And Using My Eyes as a kazuha main + someone who uses ayaka a lot
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
its quite simple im not like that knowledgeable but they both incorporate swirling lines weaving through their clan symbols. kazuha with his maple leaf and ayaka with her flower. ayaka’s is displayed more proudly on her breastplate but this makes sense because kazuha has removed himself from the once glory of his clan
Tumblr media Tumblr media
they both also use similar gloves as well
Tumblr media Tumblr media
they also have these similar slits in their bottoms

ayaka’s design is strikingly symmetrical because she has to maintain appearances as the shirasagi princess. upon inspection of kazuha’s outfit you can see that there IS symmetry still present mostly in his bottom half. the black layer on his left half seems to be hastily thrown on and tucked into his belt. his outfit is for ease and convenience instead of appearances. the symmetry being at the BASE layer is what is of note because that would have been what he was wearing during nobility. removal of the black layer, the topmost and most recent layer, would lend a more symmetrical design like that of ayaka, ayato, and sara; people important in the politcal field of inazuma
i enjoy kazuhas design because it incorporates calls to his past: grabbing a burning vision when his friend dies, learning swordsmanship under the kaedehara clan, and being a noble. but you can see from his tussled hair, his careless ponytail, his asymmetrical design that hes more fit to the life of a drifter

Thinking about Jaster era Mando politics and what if....
New Mandos are technically Pro Republic Anti Jedi (in a trying to conform to Republic cultural standards and terrified Jedi will come harass them if they don't way).
True Mandos are technically Anti Republic/Jedi (sort of by default? Because they don't differentiate between the two and they want to remain free of Republic influence so...).
And Death Watch, under Tor, was Anti Republic... but pro Jedi. Kind of? Not really? Like a really distorted representation of Jedi, Pro Jedi. Cause Death Watch/Tor/Clan Vizsla's claim to fame is a Jedi Mand'alor and use a lightsaber as symbol of the position. And like.... Jedi in Tarre's era were warlords of a sort. Before the Jedi gave up thier armor/territory/politcal power for the sake of building the Republic. Tor Vizsla ranting and raving about how the Republic 'ruined and shackled' the Jedi the same way the a Republic is trying to 'ruin and shackle' Mandalorians.
Tor and Death Watch constantly twisting the narrative so they're right and everyone else is wrong. (You can't trust what the other Mandalorians factions say, they've abandoned our glorious past. You can't trust what the Jedi say, they've been brainwashed and indoctrinated to serve the Republic for centuries).
The Jedi meanwhile, are roughly 99.99% blissfully ignorant of all this drama and the 00.01% percent aware of it wish they could forget.

Are arranged marriages among the vampire clans a thing in Belhollow?
For the current time the IF is in, yes.
Arranged marriages are often a common thing, used for unification/alliances of two clans or to prevent a civil war, because no one wants a civil war, or other politcal reasons. The ones getting married would be lucky if the one they're marrying is the one they love.

Just finished Emperor’s Conquest and I need a moment to process. We’ll be back to our regularly scheduled programming in a moment. First, some random thoughts. I may do an actual comparison after I get through the finale. Or I may not, we’ll see.
Is the book better than the drama? No, they’re both equally amazing. There are some things that I like much better in the book. Politcs, for one, world-construction, all military-adjacent scenes and okay, I will say it, book!XQ is the sexiest thing to ever exist, he only needs to appear in the distance and I’m gooone a really fascinating character. On the other hand TRP fleshed out many plotlines in a really solid way and gave us something that the book lacks - actual personal relationships between characters other that Awu and Xiao Qi. Sorry, but Emperor’s Conquest is guilty of a metric tonne of tell-not-show. We get informed that Awu feels this or that way about somebody for this or that reason, which sometimes gets coupled with a reference to past events and that’s it. And since she’s our only point-of-view character, other places and events only get reported on. The whole book narrative is very introspective, which is fine, but not everybody’s cup of tea.
How is TRP as an adaptation? Is it faithful? Well, some things got lifted from the book almost word-for-word, certainly the first half of Awu’s journey. Other events and especially characters are wildly different! Don’t worry, Zitan is still as useless as ever, even if less actively malicious. And seriously, thank you, dramagods, for our badass Ningshuo officer Hu Yao, for Best Bro Guanglie and especially for the hilariously magnificent and magnificently hilarious bastard Daddy Wang.
The most startling difference - for all that their relationship with each other remains mostly unchanged - can be seen in our main characters and it is closely related to how the main themes of the story have changed going from book to drama.
Book!Xiao Qi is a magnificent bastard with twice the army, four times the ruthlessness and twenty times the ambition of his drama counterpart. Oh, and he’s got STYLE, the showy, showy son of a bitch. There’s no quiet self-control there; if there’s self-control, then it will be pure mithril, cold smiles and chilling calculations included. Oh, he still goes soft with Awu, but it’s such a startling contrast to his usual coldness, that it’s much more noticeable than in the comparatively consistent drama!XQ. Oh, and he cries. A lot. Which... hnnnnng! In the book XQ switches back-and-forth, going from arctic gale to summer day in a matter of seconds; in the drama he goes from tiger to kitten, so at the end of the day still a cat, if of a different coat.
This whole Ningshuo-soldiers-as-a-family thing? Pure drama invention. Book!XQ has comrades and brothers-in-arms, not brothers-brothers. He still bankrupts himself for his soldiers, but there’s no sign that it’s because of any guilt or personal feelings; 100% feudal warlord, 0% humble fatherly figure, that guy. In fact this whole theme centered aroud family is largely a drama invention. Book!Awu goes ride-and-die for Xiao Qi very early; the only member of her family she ever goes against him for (although very spectacularly) is her brother.
Also, book!Xiao Qi is no beggar shepherd orphan. An orphan, yes, but not a completely lowborn one; his mother was not even a concubine, but he still comes from a noble if rather isolated clan of talented loners. He ran away at thirteen, true, but it’s not the same. For one, the book doesn’t really stress the class issue all that much. There’s absolutely a conflict between the old families and Xiao Qi’s new military elite, but there’s no hint of any kind of greater social change. Book!XQ wants to change the dynasty, that’s it. And that’s his goal from the very start, one which Awu fully supports; at one point she’s the one to urge him on, even as he leaves the choice to her. The issue of kneeling or not kneeling to the throne, so prevalent in the last arc of the drama, is not really an issue in the book - Xiao Qi has nothing against kneeling masses, as long as they kneel to him.
Awu... Oh, that was a surprise. Although it really shouldn’t have been. Guys, book!Awu is a cold magnificent bitch. I am not kidding. She makes for a perfect partner to book!XQ; it’s not that she’s completely ruthless, she will still save her aunt, if needed... It’s just that if she’s forced, she’ll stop at nothing. Her inner commentary is also absolutely callous in some situations; her reaction to Yuxiu’s suicide gave me chills, I kid you not. They really are a matching pair!
And you know what? I like both versions of our heroes. I am fascinated by this cunning, cold and ambitious book take; it’s very gritty and very daggers-under-magnificent-silks, very realistic at the end of the day. Drop book!Awu and XQ into TRP-world, they’ll have it conquered before lunch and even Daddy Wang in his evil lair will never see it coming.
But as a hopeless romantic, I can’t help but melt when faced with the much more fantastic drama take; a pair of truly noble characters who do not really want power, but are forced to take it up for the greated good? Sign me up! And let’s face it, as hot as this whole only-good-and-soft-for-you thing really is, sometimes you just need a man who is, in every single aspect of his life, undeniably Good with a capital G.
My advice? Go and read the book after you finish the drama, otherwise you risk getting serious whiplash. Also, be careful if you have ever experienced weird feelings when faced with magnificent ink-black horses, shiny swords, epic cavalry charges and unfurling standarts, it gets... intense.

I tried sending this question on Anon earlier (only my desktop has Tumblr and I was zoning out away from thinking of this), but what if Ming Xiao was a Cainite and Nines and LaCroix were Kuei-jin? What Clan/Dharmas would they be, and how would they feel about it, and how would it affect their storylines? Like maybe Nines rose and was taken in by the Chinatown Wu, and LaCroix has been living somewhere in China since the Napoleonic Wars? Thanks!
@badass-at-cuddling oh wow this is a big question to go into but I’ll try my best! XD
Well, I think it would be best to make changes to LaCroix’s and Nines’ backstory since as far I know Kuei-jin are made from people of Eastern or Southern Asian descent.
Now I think we can keep Nines being an American, in this case a Chinese American (he could be even be part latino as well), and it would makes he could’ve received the second breath after dying during a strike or perhaps he got caught in a cross fire, regardless, he would’ve died young and before his time. (Noooo ;_;)
Considering Nines’ clan in vtmb being a Brujah, his connection to humanity through his politcal beliefs, I feel the Dharma of the Dance of the Thrashing Dragon is likeily the one that fits him best since tbh, not only would that give him the chance to continue to fight for others but also give him a second chance to really live life to the fullest. (Honestly I was thinking of the Way of the Resplendent Crane for him as well but I think that’s too restricted for Nines’ character to be honest but I wonder what you guys might think)
I do think Nines would be quickly taken in by LA Chinatown Kuei-jin but I do think he would butt heads with the elders a lot but also perhaps more being willing to listen to them as well, provided they didn’t treat him badly that is. Although, he could end up becoming the leader of a movement within the Chinatown court that don’t want to be messed around by their elders. But while I think Nines would try to broker some peace treaty with the Anarchs in LA he could end up butting heads with some of the more rowdy Anarchs. And Nines wouldn’t feel happy with the mainland Kuei-jin taking over and saying “Hey we gotta kick or enlighten those awful Cainites to stop the Sixth Age!” but he would also be fed up with the Anarchs just leaving their shit everywhere and whoops the freaking Camarilla and the Sabbat are rolling into town as well!
So I would say that Nines is in a bind in what to do! 0_0
As for LaCroix, oh man this is a tricky one, because I’m trying to figure out if there was enough of a French Chinese presence in France at the time of Napoleon or not.
If there was and they allowed Chinese men to join the army then, I think that LaCroix could have been a French ex noble’s illegitimate son with a Chinese woman and even though there was a draft, I think he would want to prove himself to his father and country that he is worth something. (Ohhh don’t make me sad again ;_;) But he instead dies on the battle field and receiving the second breath and finding out that all of the beliefs his Chinese heritage actually are partly true and he would be super confused and likey eat some people before coming to on his own or being found by his fellow Kuei-jin and after some time he sent around europe to scope things for the Kuei-jin (not for conquering purposes per say but to see if there is any way to help the Kuei-jin in the mainlands).
However, if not then I can see him being a son of a trader in Hong Kong (obvs he isn’t going to be called LaCroix here in this case) and soon following in his father’s footsteps, perhaps even getting involved in the opium trade, (I’m going to be honest here and say that I don’t know as much about China during the 1800s at this point so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know :D) However, he would’ve died young and maybe to move his brith and death forward to from liekly 1794-1815 to 1815-1839 so he could have been involved in the first Opium War and died in the conflict. Upon receiving the second breath and being found and taken to the Hong Kong court.
Now picking LaCroix’s Dharma in either origin story was difficult for me to be honest, but I’m thinking for the first origin LaCroix might have been attracted to the Howl of the Devil-Tiger Dharma, since I can see him wanting to be a powerful demon (Yomi ain’t a nice place bro) and that could go for his second orgin too.
Buttt the other Dharmas he might also go for are the Way of the Resplendent Crane or the Dance of the Thrashing Dragon Dharma, Resplendent Crane cause he might feel guilty for not following tradition and sinning a lot when he was alive and Thrashing Dragon so he could really live his unlife to the fullest!
Now LaCroix regardless would either be sent to LA to asist the Kuei-jin in conquering the city or he would already be in LA and butting heads with Nines no matter his Dharma! XD But LaCroix would have ambitions of becoming an Ancestor (It’s going to take a bit though) but first he’s going to do his bit to help the effort to stop the Sixth Age (it’s going to get in the way of his goal darn it!) and of course that means screwing over the Kindred through manipulative means!
Ming Xiao is a tricky one for me as I wanna say she could be a Ventrue due commanding air and her ability to be a Leader of a community, I can totally see her rock Domination and Presence easily and with Fortiude, she’s one tough lady that’s hard to kill! However, she could be a Tzimisce, maybe a Tzimisce who isn’t too into changing her image so much but is into having a kick ass war form! (either way, she’ll have some high level Vicissitude baby!!!)
Okay as for Ming Xiao’s Kindred origins, I’m thinking that while the Kuei-jin are the main undead creatures of Eastern Asia there is a tiny population of Kindred scattered around as well. and one of those Kindred (Ventrue/Tzimisce) found an interest in Ming Xiao, in my headcanon a unhappy and necglected wife to a minster of the imperial palace during the Tang Dynasty. A beautiful, intelligent, charismatic and manipulative who would do anything to get what she wanted (since her husband wasn’t going to, lol!) she quickly drew the eye of her sire and they wanted to show a fun time and have her as their companion (dominating or meatcrimes) and embraced her after ghouling her husband.
And after Ming Xiao enjoys herself and gaining herself some power in a little domain for around 400 years (I guess she got bored with her sire and ate them or something) or so, she’ll go into torpor after the Kuei-jin come a knocking to tell her to knock it off. so after like a 1000 years or so (phew that’s a long nap) Ming Xiao wakes up and sees that China had really changed, but oh boy those Kuei-jin are sure to be annoying when she tries to build a domain here again!
Rude, why won’t they let her to do meat crimes or any dominating  anyway, instead she’ll be sharing her wisdom to those who need to hear it duh. Regardless, Ming Xiao then searches for a great place to crash without these annoying Kuei-jin trying to kill her!
So Ming Xiao’s arrival in LA is going to spook some of the Kindred cause she basically nearly at Methuselah level, but they don’t know it’s her cause she’s not advertising how old she really is. However she is real annoyed that the Kuei-jin are here as well, and well the Camarilla are too european, the Sabbat are just no and the Anarchs really need her help! So Ming Xiao starts subtly recruiting herself some pawns likemind Kindred to help her cause to get the Anarchs’ shit together.
So here you have it, Nines and LaCroix are still butting heads but are way more on the same and Ming Xiao manipulativing the Anarchs for her goals, it’s quite a difference but yet has some shades of the original plot of VTMB!
Phew this was a long post, I hope this answers your question @badass-at-cuddling I’m sorry it took so long to answer! thank you again for the ask it was really fun to think about! :D

How do politics work - Or why the endgame doesn’t make sense - Part II Tyrion as Hand
In my first post on the endgame of GoT, I spoke about how Bran does not make sense as a king because he is too magical. In this post I want to talk about how Tyrion as Hand does not make sense, because it would be too close to actual politics, too realistic and not in tune with some of the themes GRRM set up. It would be more in tune with a mobster story than with a fantasy story. I am speaking from the perspective of the books as they are now. I fully realise, that we still have two books to go, but tbh, like with Bran I do not see, how Tyrion as Hand can be considered a bittersweet ending, or in any way a satisfactory ending.
First, I want to remind everyone, that Tyrion is a rather dark grey character, if not black. The show has whitewashed him from early on. I always suspected that this might mean that in the books Tyrion will have some kind of redemption towards the end and that the show cut short on his downward arc by simply omitting it, but as things stand now, Tyrion has certainly much to answer for, and several of these things are things that are punished in-world.
What do we know about what Tyrion has done? (as an aside, please note, that I do not claim that some of these things are not explainable from what we see in his PoV, but his PoV is very misleading, and explainable is not the same as excusable)
He raped Tysha because his father told him to. He sowed unrest in the Vale by arming the mountain clans with Lannister gold as part of his revenge on Lysa Arryn. He essentially bought Shae as his personal sex-worker. He worked for Joffrey’s rule against Stannis knowing full well that a) Joffrey was a very bad king and b) Joffrey had no claim to the throne whatsoever. He let Bronn kill the singer Symon silver-tongue because he made eyes at Shae and cut to close to the truth in his songs and then poor Symon was served up in a stew to the starving population of King’s Landing. He wed Sansa Stark knowing full well, she does not want to marry an enemy of her house. He groped her in their wedding night. He killed his lover Shae when he caught her in his father’s bed (knowing she was a sex-worker who was probably paid for being there). He killed his father on the privy. He raped a serving girl in Illyrio’s house. He set up fAegon for a probably doomed expedition to conquer Westeros. He has frequently announced that he will rape his sister Cersei. He signed a number of fake contracts with no money behind it, because he wants an army. And this is just what is at the top of my mind when I think about what Tyrion did. I don't even mention the fact that his thoughts in ADWD are very disturbing.
Now, Tyrion is not stupid and he usually is sensitive to the fact that he cannot rule simply by fear. So, he knows, that a hungry smallfolk in the capital is bad news, that he needs to appease them. He is not a tyrant like Joffrey, he is careful not to hurt people, if he needs them. He cares for the payment of his soldiers and their well-being and safety, in so far he needs them in fighting shape. He is ruthless and cunning. His greatest wish is to be acknowledged as his father’s heir, not only in the literal sense as heir to Casterly Rock, but also in the sense that he wants to match Tywin in politics. Tyrion seems like the perfect copy of Tywin at least when it come to politcs, and his aunt Genna even says so in AFFC, when she talks with Jaime. So, you could argue that just like his father he is not a good person, but he is an effective politician.
Nevertheless, Tyrion is not as clever as he thinks he is: In ACOK he sets Littlefinger, Varys and Pycelle against each other to find out who works for Cersei and he makes a deadly enemy out of Littlefinger who later plots to frame Tyrion for Joffrey’s murder.  Tyrion in ACOK is still on a learning arc for ruthless politics so to say, and it might well be, that the does not make a mistake like that ever again.
Apart from his personal record, there is the problem of the Lannister legacy. The legacy of House Lannister and of Tywin is that of a ruthless politician. Tywin destroyed two entire houses because their heads did not respect him enough, he had no qualms about sacking King’s Landing in Robert’s rebellion, he had no scruples to let the Mountain kill Elia and her children, because he knew that Robert would be thankful to him for eliminating this problem. He instigated Walder Frey to murder King Robb - a man who had repeatedly bested Tywin on the battlefield - at the Red Wedding. The Lannister rule is described in-world as being quite effective even over a rather long period of time, but there can be no doubt that it does inspire wary respect but no love. The Stark rule, especially Ned's is set up as a foil for this. And while the show made nothing of it, we can see the loyalty House Stark inspires even when they are on their lowest point in ADWD. I do think that this is ultimately the difference : House Lannister has to stay strong, once they fall nobody will raise a finger for them.
Now, In-world Tyrion is accused several times of things he didn't do and we as readers know this. We tend to be on his side in this, because someone getting death penalty for something he did not do seems incredibly unfair. And yet, Tyrion has done several things that should be punished. We are told multiple times how the 'kinslayer' is cursed, and we hear In-world stories in legend and history how that curse always strikes. Always.
I would also argue that Tywin's legacy is bound to be destroyed one way or the other. The Reynes and the Castameres cry for revenge. If House Targaryen is punished for generations of 'exceptionalism' then House Lannister is due for a reckoning as well. And we have seen the start: Cersei's children - the only children in the next generation of the main Lannister lineage - will all die in the books as they did on the show. The punishment for Cersei's and Jaime's incest and for the power hunger of the Lannisters. We can be sure about this. Genna 's children are Freys and will die in the Red Wedding 2.0. Lancel, Kevan's son will die as well.
So, how does that all fit into Tyrion as Hand at the end? It would mean that the rule that kinslayers are punished which GRRM hammered into our minds suddenly does not adhere to one person? It would mean that the Fall of the Lannisters GRRM set up will not happen? It would mean that poetic justice and a reckoning hits Tywin himself, Cersei, Jaime, the Freys, Ramsay and Roose Bolton, Theon Greyjoy, possibly Victarion Greyjoy but not Tyrion?
Now, you could argue that Tyrion does not need to be a good person to be a good ruler. You could argue that Tyrion is smart enough to rule with a modicum of justice because he knows that this works better in the long run. You could argue that he could stay unmarried and that this is how the Lannister legacy dies.
But I would argue that he will always look for loopholes and further his own agenda in secret. It is just how he plays the game and how he learned it by his father. Tyrion as Hand could work out for a majority of the people, but only if Tyrion let's go of his resentment he accumulated over the years and which is so prominent in ADWD. Imagine someone with that much bottled up hatred in a position of power! Imagine someone criticising Tyrion - and if he rules as Hand he will be criticised. That someone would probably vanish over night - at least if you consider how Tyrion's mind works in ADWD. Tyrion would still continue to just buy the women he wants and probably he'll be just as awful about it as he is in ADWD.
You could argue that Tyrion as Hand is 'realistic'. That ruthless politicians get offices and stay in office all the time. That is certainly true enough, but would it work together with Bran, the most magical of all persons bring chosen as King because of his almost omniscience?
In addition, Tyrion would get what he always wanted.... He always wanted a standing sufficiently high so that people could not hurt him. He wanted to stand in his father's shoes. He wanted power.... GRRM usually does not hand out anything one of the characters (or his readers) want and if he does, only with a twist. How would this work in Tyrion's case? Only if he gains the ability to reflect on his choices and mistakes much more than he does right now, only when he realises that he made mistakes and suffers for it. I don't see him becoming suddenly all reflective and full of remorse. Not if he is the one to bring Dany to Westeros in the books as well.
To sum up, Tyrion as Hand does mean: Tyrion getting away with kinslaying, Tywin's legacy alive and well at the end with the person who is most like Tywin in charge, Tyrion getting all he ever wanted, a ruthless politician as a successful de facto ruler.
I would argue that this does not fit into how GRRM handled themes up until now. To break his own rules he set up over five books once might work, but to break all? And in addition it does not fit with other parts of the endgame. Bran as a king with magic when we virtually have next to no magic? And at the same time Tyrion as the 'realistic' politician that is needed to run the country? Targaryen legacy finally put to rest for all eternity, but Lannister legacy thriving? Tyrion just getting all he ever wanted? Tyrion not getting punished for any of the crimes he did?
The books might prove me wrong if they ever come out. And there might be a way how GRRM reaches Bran as king and Tyrion as Hand at the same time. I just can't see it. Tyrion as Hand has its problems in itself, just as Bran as king has. These are not insurmountable, but honestly I can't think of a way how GRRM could strengthen magic enough to make Bran as king satisfying and heighten the realism to make Tyrion as Hand plausible.
I mean I always expected that old Lord Walder Grey will just die in his bed and that it will only be his family who suffers for his sins, but I would expect a little bit less 'realism' and more adjusting to themes the author set up himself in regard to one of the POVs.

[Phoenix]- It had been a while since Victoria last had the time to pursue a mark like this- what with the politcal scope becoming an absolute mess at home among other things, but there was something thereputic about pursuing the more unruly members of the undead. However, she wasn’t expecting this particular feral bloke to run all the way to Japan of all places. And given Kiku-san’s general oblivious attitude towards the actual supernatural creatures that plagued his shores Victoria had to pursue.
First things first, get the feel of things for the undead society in Japan and then suss out the feral one. Which meant that she had to contact the more noble clans here for information. The only one who replied was Sakamaki Suburu, the youngest of one of the clans here; any response was better than none at all. In the past the Nation wouldn’t dare dream of asking vampires for help, no matter how ‘noble’ they claimed to be- a Fang was a Fang at the end of the day... at least, that’s what she used to think. She supposed she had to thank her friend (@sonderrow) for that.
The cafe she had selected was secluded enough for privacy while speaking and dim enough to suit whatever needs her informant may have, while being busy enough to give her some form of security- meeting strangers (especially vampiric ones) were always best served with a touch of caution. Sipping her tea quietly, she waited until a shadow passed over her table before raising to meet her guest. “Sakamaki-san, thank you for meeting me,” she said bowing slightly, “is this suitable?”

Character breakdown
I’m incredibly bored and I have had a few new followers as of late, so I figure it’s time to get one of these things done so I can reference it later! So, a brief explanation of my characters, their history, and what makes them tick: Darlain Truthhammer: She was born a Wildhammer of Aerie Peak, daughter of one of the more respected Proudmug brewing families. When the Trolls invaded in the Third War, while she was still a young girl, he decided to flee with his family to Bronzebeard territory as a refugee, when she remained until her young adulthood. Her father doted on her, but her mother, an opportunistic woman who had married for the wealth and status, took out the frustrations of the family’s misfortunes on her husband and daughter. Her father ended up being murdered by a dark Iron thief, hoping to get his recipies, and after her father’s death, her mother took over their small brewery and, upon learning she was meant to be sold off to a patron to lock in a business deal, she took her gryphon and fled to Stormwind, where a kind priestess sensed her potential as a priest as gave her a place to live in the Cathedral as an Acolyte. She lived as a bit of a socially repressed woman until she bumped into Nicholai and the Meddlers, an adventuring band that eventually gave her a purpose, a husband (and 3 children, now), and a family. She’s a bit of a gossip, but a loyal friend, and a cheerleader for any situation, no matter how dire. Pinapple Peppercog-Ambroce:  Pin lived on the surface near Gnomeregan, her parents were technicians that focused on the ventilation system that supplied air to the mostly underground city, which meant a lot of complicated systems interacting together. She had a lovely childhood, and her father would often read stories of heroes to her, which she took into an incredible collection of books on historical battles and legends once she learned how to read. Still a very young woman, Her parents were heavily irradiated during the explosion, and both succumbed to madness shortly after arriving in Ironforge. She was taken in by a foster father, intending to teach her about the blacksmithing trade, but her repression of her situation lead her to run away, and attempt to pursue a naive plan to become a hero, full with a step by step process with multiple tiers of success. In truth, she became a transient, leaning to live in the wilderness and do odd jobs for food, attempting to have her humble beginning manifest into a mystical quest any day. After years of waiting, she instead enlisted as a squire to a military band called the Silver Dragoons, under Commander Harrigan. With dedication and a lot of reality checks, she became a fine officer, and when the unit was disbanded due to sinister influence, she became was promoted as 2nd in command of the Silver Dragoons Mercenary band, under the new commander, Alynore Forrester, whom she proudly served and learned from. Her life since then has been tumultuous, she had a lot of maturing to catch up on, but she eventually became a gifted tactician for the group, and, after her Death in the Legion War, and resurrection by Odyn, she returned to the unit, and took over for Commander Forrester as she joined with the Silver Hand. She’s very intelligent in some fields, and very amateur in others, including love, which, after a few wild and dramatic experiences, she found a loving and fulfilling partnership with Leon Ambroce, and his wife, Kaewynn, her adventures in romance continue, her most recent partner being a gnome mage named Summy, who adds some welcome chaos to her life.
Xillia: Xillia was a recluse after the horrors of the genocide of her people, she thankfully survived it by being a citzen of Teluman, the hiding place of the Draenei people, and was evacuated to the Exodar when it returned to the doomed world. She likely would have stayed a quiet researcher for centuries, if not for the chance reunification with a childhood friend name Henii, and Henii’s wife, Ivinara, she met the spunky and free spirited Rhaala, whom she developed a fascination with, as someone who dealt with much of the same traumas she had, and yet lived life with an ease she found herself envious of. The fascination and envy lead to a proper crush, and the two became both fast friends and lovers. With that, the two of them found others they cared for, in Xillia’s case, a rather dependable and sweet young smith named Arkav, and in Rhaala’s case, a rather nerdy Archeologist, Ki’in. The four decided to purchase a home together, and made a life for themselves, occasionally going off on excursions and adventures. During the Legion attack, an eradar implanted a seed of corruption in her arm, which she was able to stop it from killing her by using her arcane magics to freeze the arm, and shatter it. She spent quite a few months designing an arcane infused prosthetic, using theories from various races’ experiments with runic magic, and the animation of golems. She teaches magic to children now, but occasionally explores or does field research.
Daegra Stonehelm: She’s a new character, so i’m still working on it, but she short of it is she is an ambitious woman, the daughter of two of the old Senate, who were killed in the assassination of Emperor Thulassian. She had been disenfranchised with the Dark Iron’s subservience to Ragnarok, and she herself had been forced into tutelage of the warlock arts, a rather noble calling in their society, even lauded greater than arcane studies. Once her parents were dead, and the city restructuring after the Firelord’s defeat, she sided with Moira, hoping to leave the mountain and make her mark on the world, which she started as an ambassador of the Dark Irons. In a successful attempt to sway public opinion towards accepting the Dark Irons, she arranged for the murder of an advocate for the Dark Irons from the Truthhammer clan, Darlain Truthhammer, framing it on the conservative senators, implying that they killed Darlain because she spoke out for giving the Dark Irons a seat in the dwarven senate. Thankfully for Darlain, her assassin decided to instead kidnap the dwarf and sell her in Blackrock, and the priestess was able to escape, without ever discovering that Daegra was behind the plot. With the politcs settling down, and developing a bit of a distaste for the machinations of political aspirations in general, Daegra has been becoming a silent partner in a few business, and making some discreet land deals. She’s currently thinking of investing in a proper casino somewhere, as those were quite lucrative in Shadowforge city.
And, lastly, my FFXIV character, Apple Silverberg:
Apple is a rather studious arcanist, though her studies of allaghen magics would have most refer to her as a summoner, and she has a rather extensive collection of egi’s at this point. She joined an adventuring group called Gage Acquisitions for university credit, and was able to develop fast friendships and trust with the members of the group, eventually signing on as a full time employee. She is only very lightly touched by the Echo, not being able to control the visions of the past, and having them only come when she’s manipulating a good deal of aether. Her father died in the calamity, something she had a hard time dealing with, and, as he was a Sharlyan, she took to study as a way to connect with him. Her mother remarried, and she’s still getting used to her stepfather, a nice Elezan man from Ishgarde.  She’s usually one to get stuck in research for weeks, emerging with a new idea for a spell or a way to apply aether to many of the groups mechanical inventions., which is mostly how she earns her keep, aside from her research into the Primals themselves.
