A while ago I was shooting the shit with some Battletech oldheads and I mentioned I kinda wanted one of the old, slim metal Mad Dogs. Lo and behold, one was produced and I was told it'd be more use to me than it was moldering in a pile of shame. Hopefully I did it's old owner proud.

This is an *old* miniature. It's at least 23 years old based on the Ral Partha stamp, but its possibly as old as 30. That's old enough that I'm not sure whether or not the pewter in this is lead free ':v

things i learned about mechs today: the engine can overflow into the torso slots. like statistically speaking if u get a crit on this girl ur hitting the engine xD i almost threw away the lrm for a targetting computer, but i thought the the pilot might like some indirect fire, and since its a clan lrm its got no min range so can be used in conjunction with the ER M Laser if anyone gets to close.
the alternate name for her is If It Sucks Hit Da Bricks. might try and and test my fine moter skills by trying to paint that on her after i kitbash it.

Today is a good day to paint little robots. I don't feel I did a good job replicating the color gradient on the Ghost Bear's Omicron Galaxy mechs, but I tried, lol. Still a WIP, have to add more little details and clean up a few spots.

Been playing Mechwarrior Clans all day
It’s really good so far
Like the new mechlab, the story is interesting, the characters aren’t sneering baddies but nuanced people and of course I was always a fan of the clan mechs and their militarist society (even if it’s fascistic and doomed to fail)
10/10 if you like battletech it’s worth playing

Meet the unluckiest ghost bear nova known to this side of the sphere.
So the Nova is tasked with intercepting an escaping recon/strike lance. Said lance should he easy pickings but the enemy is using stealth armour and evasive maneuvers (more on this later)
We hit the field and being pursuit.

Following up on the pursuit, no viable shots are found but closing distance to begin dueling.

Finally start getting into viable shot range.. and the metaphorical fan hath been struck

An Upgraded Union dropship lands to pickup the escaping lance.
Ground attack Armament: 2x Gauss, 2x ER PPC, 2x ER Large laser, 4x LRM 20. And sits at level 10 with a base -2 to gunnery for being a dropship... So good luck hiding.

So Timberwolf loses significant armour from Gauss, ppc, and laser fire.
Meanwhile a lucky gauss rifle goes through my mad dogs cockpit and he thankfully dropped the elementals that turn so they won't go up with him.
We pepper the enemy stinger but spite heaps of damage, the stinger doesn't quite go down and escapes via the dropship.

The griffin wasn't so lucky - my viper jumps behind and misses 80% of his armament at point blank with pulse lasers! But the final ER Medium and Micro Pulse laser both strike the left rear torso, and drill through the engine with 4 crits. Engine destruction.
The vindicator then puts a sword through my CT and I'm dead... (Also more on this)
In the end the vindicator shuts down going out guns blazing and the bushwhacker also escapes despite heavy damage and most of the armament critted out.
We keep the vindicator and pilot as bondsman, but lost an Adder, Viper, and Mad Dog (although salvageable once we hose out the bloody nickel cobalt gauss shrapnel)
We called it a pyric victory only due to taking a prisoner, otherwise it'd be a loss for the clans.

Overview Proposed as part of Project: BIG CAT for the Magistracy of Canopus, the Yaguara was designed by Majesty Metals and Manufacturing in 3146 as a fast moving, hard-hitting heavy 'Mech.
Capabilities The Yaguara was built from the ground up with speed and long-ranged engagement in mind. Built around a supercharged Vlar 300 XL engine, the 'Mech can sprint over 86 kph, allowing it to keep up with lances comprised of much lighter 'Mechs than itself.
