DAI Update
I haven't forgotten Tav's BG3 playthrough (I have the pictures put together, just need to assemble the posts), but now that I've gotten through the first Solas romance scene, I felt the need to share some DAI screenshots to mark my progress.
This is Adahla Lavellan, electricity/spirit mage. She likes history and religious study and puzzles and, much to my chagrin, Solas.
She's got the vallaslin of Dirthamen (secrets, knowledge) and a hunger to understand the roots of major historical & legendary events. I'm still learning her as I play, but so far I know she's very self-assured and has almost no regrets; once she commits to a path, she lets go of wondering what else might have been and completely focuses on the decisions still ahead.
I've been trying to lean into the spy stuff mentioned in the prologue & in her codex. I know she was a foundling left with the clan at birth by non-elves, and she has a fascination with other cultures and especially with the various theologies scattered across Thedas. (I'm pretty sure she devoured every Genitivi text she could find growing up.)
While she does worship the elven gods, she doesn't disbelieve in any of the others; rather, she's deeply curious about finding ways where the elvhenan tradition and Andrastian tradition can both be true, or where the legends of the Old Gods and Tyrdda Bright-Axe might have overlapped at their religious root.
Her familiarity with these cultures made her the most suitable to represent the Lavellan clan at the Conclave. The mark is more of an exciting mystery to her than a painful burden, and though she does believe in the diplomatic efforts of the Inquisition and is firmly comfortable in her place leading the charge against Corypheus (since he wants to kill specifically her), she's secretly most invested in the Inquisition's acquisition of ancient texts, access to libraries, and uncovering of secrets. For her, "Inquisitor" is a decidedly literal title.
Romance stuff under the cut.
I was very unsure of how the Solas romance would go with a character like her. As @silksieve said, I'm coming at the romance from the wrong end; I already know who Solas is and yet know literally zero of the romance structure. I needed to create a character who could survive a heartbreak, and I think I've done that, but I'm fascinated to see how the intermediary beats shake out.
However, the romance ended up sparking naturally due to lovely happenstance. I've been keeping Solas in the party almost constantly so I can learn to like him, which meant he was present as I worked through all the astrariums and ocularums in the Hinterlands, the Storm Coast, and most of the Emerald Graves. (Yes, even here, I'm still a completionist.) This led to a nice bit of headcanon that Adahla & Solas worked through a lot of the star puzzles together, which meant that later in the Graves, when I stumbled upon one without Solas in the party, Adahla & I both had a moment of seriously missing him and wishing he was there.
It felt natural, therefore, to examine (logically and methodically) why she was missing him so much, and after bringing him a copy of the unsolved map so she could watch him solve it and judge the number of tries it took him, I think she realized she was growing interested in more than his stories of Fade wanderings and legends out of time.
Considering this whole relationship started with him being grabby and rude while she felt like death, I'm amazed they've gotten this far. She may not have always liked him, but she has always respected him, and I the player was surprised at how smooth the change in her opinion felt.
Also as a player, I'm still a bit unsure of Solas myself. I like the deep wealth of history and knowledge he provides, but there's a...a sort of rigid pride to him that I personally still find off-putting. As I mentioned on stream, I'm going to need to see some chinks in the armor to really buy into the romance in any major way. Plus, he's just so...blandly designed! I dunno. Bald, beige, and a boring dresser? I know this is a me thing, but dang, seeing the concept art with dreads...well, a girl can dream.
Adahla, however, is having a great time. Once she decides on something, she commits with her whole heart, and now that he's admitted to being thrown off-balance during the Fade scene, she's made it her mission to keep him on that back foot as long as possible. I again have no idea how the romance plays out, and please God don't spoil me, but she & I are both hopeful that she'll keep him guessing through the end.
In terms of gameplay, I've about finished the Hinterlands, the Storm Coast, the Emerald Graves, and the Forbidden Oasis. I plan to do Wicked Eyes & Wicked Hearts (or whatever it's called) next, followed by Crestwood, and then will keep working through the maps one by one. The level gating isn't quite as bad as I remember, though still annoying, and my few QoL mods have shaved off the worst of the gameplay irritants (thank you @bettydice!).
All in all, I'm having a really good time! Like I said, I'm still a little doubtful about Solas myself, but the character concept coming into shape for Adahla feels sound, and I think she's resilient enough to weather some of the revelations that Priory wasn't. I'm excited to keep going and find out! :)
Also, my girl, because I still love her best:

re that ask me stuff post, who are your canon pcs in the dragon age games?? what are their names, what class/race, who did they romance?? I love learning about other's pcs!
HOOHHHHHHmygod thank you for asking this 🥹
I was actually going to make a separate OC sheet on my pinned post where I go into more detail and share screenshots, and you’ve just pushed me to actually finish that! But in the meantime...
DAO:
Admittedly, I have not played DAO in a hot minute, but...
-My Warden’s name is Cliodhna Amell, and as you can tell by the last name, she is a human mage! I have yet to fully flesh her out, but she is a blood mage who romances Alistair. Her main party is Alistair, Zevran & Morrigan. She puts Anora on the Fereldan throne, and stays a Grey Warden searching tirelessly for the cure with Alistair.
trips and falls and 7,373,839 pictures of Hawke fall out
AHEM—
DA2:
-Next up is the actual light and love of my life my Iris Hawke, my favorite local idiot. She is my Fereldan-Tevene special mage rebellion princess and she romances (this word seems pale in comparison to the depth of her feelings for him) Fenris (think rivalmance but with me laughing maniacally in the background while manipulating the game to make it so I don’t ever have to be mean to him). Iris genuinely does not have a main party in my headcanon, as she takes the whole merry band out with her to do Kirkwall's dirty work. She predominantly utilizes fire (maximum chaos) and specializes as a force mage. Later, after Kirkwall has beaten her, her friends, and her family down enough, she dabbles with blood magic. Yes, this goes Extremely Poorly™️. More at 10!
Post DA2, and with her family now scattered across Thedas, she decides to go on the run (with Fenris, and soon their son, close behind) to protect Kirkwall from the Exalted March that never came.
(I actually have her entire story mapped out and could talk about specifically her for hours on end, I have stopped myself)
DAI:
-Miss Vaenera Lavellan the woman that you are. Unfortunately, I am predictable as hell so she is also a mage (what can I say? I love fire). As Clan Lavellan's Second, she straight up wasn’t even important enough to attend the actual Conclave, standing juuust far enough away that she just barely heard the cry for help from the Divine inside (war flashbacks to the wrong voiceline playing: what’s going on in here 🧍♀️) But genuinely, the worst case of wrong place, wrong time as the spare to the heir. Her rise as Inquisitor is a rocky one, leaning heavily on the advice of her advisors and Enchanter Vivienne. To keep that amazing streak of luck going, she romances Solas! What started out as reluctance to trust, followed by frequent visits to hear of his amazing stories and abilities as a dreamer mage, turned into regrettably, a lot more than either of them had bargained for. She is a predominantly storm magic Knight Enchanter, with a party mainly consisting of Solas, Sera & Blackwall.
Post-Trespasser and Pre-Veilguard, she actually joins the efforts of the Shadow Dragons, freeing slaves and fighting corrupt mages alongside Dorian, my Hawke and Fenris, as well as the occasional stint as a Red Jenny with her good friend Sera.
DATV:
(tbh she is a total WIP, but I will do my best)
-Visenna de Riva, EASILY the scrappiest Antivan Crow there ever was, and the bane of Viago's existence. Not too much info on where I want to go with her just yet, but she (YOU GUESSED IT!) is a mage with a spellblade specialization who romances Lucanis. Her main party is Davrin and Lucanis!
Aaaaaaaand let me stop myself so I can finish my nicely formatted sheet!
Thank you so much for asking and I would really love to hear about your OC's as well, if you'd like! 💜 Please tag me if you have any writing on them!
#wdym I have a favorite child?#I should stop just replaying da2 and replay all of them tbh#I did not proofread this it just kinda all... word vomited so I apologize#literally just magical girls <3#those Amell girls and their forbidden magic amirite#my hawke being tevene not beating the blood mage allegations lmaoooo +10000 fenris rivalry#but HEY#I am vibrating with excitement thank you so much#asks#my ocs

All My Children Rooks
(thus far)
With reference screenshots and backstories, mostly for my own use for fic purposes.
My first baby girl! and first Rook to finish the game.
Personality: Happy-go-lucky, big-hearted, snarky, (over-)confident, elf nerd, unserious, full of youthful idealism and unflagging (to the point of annoying) optimism. Very much believes she's the gal who's got what it takes to save the world. Goes with her gut, doesn't waste too much time intellectualizing. Unsurprisingly, she and Bellara get along like a house on fire.
Background: Born a slave in Minrathous, as a child served as housekeeper to a minor magister arcanist/professor who taught her to read and know enough to assist in cataloging her scrolls. When Lailani's magic manifested, the scholar sponsored her to join a Circle for her education, intending for her to return as research assistant when her magic was trained. But Lailani, now a young teen and with her first taste of freedom at the Circle, heard about strange rumblings happening in nearby Arlathan, and, having consumed stories and legends of the Dalish all her life (and having always admired Inquisitor Lavellan), saw her chance for adventure and ran away to join a Dalish clan in Arlathan. There, she turns her interest in elven ruins and Imperium training to good use for the fledgling Veil Jumpers. She throws herself headlong into all things ancient elven, exploring ruins and studying artifacts. Like a lot of young Dalish coming of age at this time, she chose an atheistic vallaslin design based on some early maps the first Veil Jumpers had begun finding and creating as they uncovered more ancient relics - rejecting what they know new to be marks of subservience to long-ago tyrants. Met Varric and Harding when they worked with Strife, and, still hungry for adventure, offered to help if they ever needed it again.
View on Solas: Has a complicated relationship with elven culture in general. The Fade and all that ancient elves accomplished with magic is both exciting and fascinating; she wants to be proud of her people and see the good in ancient elves, wants to believe there was something good in the Evanuris, once. She gives Solas the benefit of the doubt because she respects what he was trying to do, but comes across to him like a defiant child who doesn't understand what they are up against.
Inquisitor: Ellawyn Lavellan (romanced Iron Bull)
World state: HoF Mahariel, King Alistair, Leliana is Divine, Celene + Briala rule Orlais, Cole is a spirit, Hawke is alive.
Romance: Davrin
Swashbuckling pirate hero.
Personality: "He a little confused, but he got the spirit" meme personified. Here for the vibes. Severan is a big softie, a chill surfer dude, and a terrible liar (his every emotion shows on his face) . More competent than he might appear. Doesn't take life too seriously, but is seriously good at what he does. Can't ever pass a dog or cat without giving it a pet, and can't ever let a serious moment pass without making a joke to ease the tension. Flirty and adventurous, he's here for a good time, not a long time. Doesn't really know what's going on with all this elvish stuff, but doesn't want the world to end, and he's got this dagger, so...
Background: A swashbuckling treasure hunter, as cliche as they come. He was born on the sea, climbing the rigging as second nature. He knows, and wants, no other life, even though he spent the first half of it enslaved by Tevinter. A chance run-in with Isabela gave him a chance for freedom in the form of his own ship and crew, and once he proved competent and trustworthy, he began treasure runs and artifact hunting with the Lords. It was a good life for a while, living it up with plenty of coin, sea air and white sand beaches - until some Venatori started trouble in a port tavern where Severan was drinking on a break between jobs. He thought they were there for him - the Venatori were always looking for relics lately and causing trouble for the Lords - and inadvertently came to Varric and Harding's rescue.
View on Solas: Fascinated respect. Sort of knows he's out of his league, sort of falls for Solas's lies, but thinks outside the box in ways Solas does not expect.
Inquisitor: Atish'anera Lavellan (romanced Solas)
World state: King Alistair + Queen Cousland, Leliana is Divine, Cole is a spirit, Inquisition disbanded
Romance: TBD
Older brother to the Inquisitor. Solas broke his sister's heart, and he's here for some personal revenge.
Personality: Quietly clever, crafty, and cunning Rasim (banal'ras + him "become shadow") thinks more than he speaks, analyzing situations quickly before jumping into the best course of action. Wise, but also a wise-ass. My personal reincarnation of Felassan. On the surface, he puts you at ease by seeming glib, relaxed, and sarcastic, but he has a deep, dark ruthless streak. Inherently mistrustful of strangers, he wants to believe in the good of his companions, and trusts those that Varric and Lace trust. He comes across effortlessly charming and likeable at first meeting. That is, until you cross him - but you wouldn't even notice the moment he's decided your life needs to end, because he'll keep smirking the whole time. Fast, agile, he could throw knives on targets in his sleep and shoot bullseyes blindfolded. The Crows trained out any hesitance to kill, as well as any lingering instinct for mercy, but he lives by his own set of ethics, and does not follow instructions from the Crows, or anyone, blindly. Despite being a Crow longer than he was Dalish, if push came to shove, his first loyalty is to the elves (but don't tell Viago). He's accepted Antiva as his home and choose not to return to his clan when he had the chance - he believes himself too changed to return to the Dalish way of life.
Background: Rasim was on a ritual hunting trip with other youths of his clan, seeking their first kill to earn their vallaslin, when they were attacked in the night. Those who fought back were killed, and the rest captured and taken north on a slaver's ship. On the journey they were kept overnight in a warehouse in Antiva. Rasim figured out how to open the cage they were in and waited for the right moment to strike back at the men holding him, but just before he could, the Crows executed a contract they had on the slaver. Rasim was free to go - but he was a bare-faced elf in Antiva, far from home, with no money or contacts and no way to get back to his clan. Viago was impressed by Rasim's "scrappiness" and his ingenuity in lockpicking his own shackles, so when Rasim asked to be trained as a Crow, he accepted him, despite him being much older than the usual fledglings. Though he had only joined the Crows for protection and to learn how to defend himself, his charm, his experience as a hunter, knowledge of Dalish uses for poison plants, and his agility helped make him a standout. But the Mage-Templar war soon broke out, and the chaos leading up to the Inquisition prevented him from finding his clan, as by now they could be anywhere. Years later, when he became a full-fledged Crow and had earned money and independence, he was able to make contact with the Dalish again through a nearby travelling clan, and finally get the vallaslin he had earned all those years ago. That clan put him in touch with his own former clan, and Rasim was able to reach out again to let them know he was still alive. And that's when he learned his younger sister Anera had, in his absence, become the First of the clan, and then, to his great surprise, the Herald of Andraste. Brother and sister finally reconnected again after the Inquisition, and it was Anera who recommended her brother to Varric, as someone already on the inside of things going on in the north.
View on Solas: The bastard elven god who slept with his sister, offered to take her vallaslin, and then broke up with her. His ex-almost-brother-in-law. Rasim has the urge to get a little revenge for his sister, but for her sake, he tries to keep an open mind about the guy she (apparently still?) loves. Rasim works the angles on Solas as much as Solas does to him, his sharp mind and insight from Anera on his psyche giving him a bit of an unexpected advantage that sets Solas aback. Rasim tries to see what Anera saw in Solas, he really does, and while he hopes to bring him to heel for her, he wouldn't mind roughing him up a bit in the process.
Inquisitor: Atish'anera Lavellan (romanced Solas)
World State: same as Severan
Love Interest: Either Bellara or Lucanis.
Based on Vessel from Sleep Token (in terms of visual design, at least)
Personality: A bastard-coated bastard with bastard filling. Doesn't see the point in sparing anyone's feelings and doesn't mince his words. Smart, independent, stubborn, doesn't listen to anyone who tells him to cool it.
In actual reality, has a deep sense of justice that is constantly being betrayed, leading to him being angry at the world, 24/7. He's angry, always angry, at the inequality he sees all around him, and the incompetence and corruption of everyone who he believes should be doing something about it and would rather ignore it. A problem solver who's used to only relying on himself and trusts no one else to do what needs done. Will cut to the chase and tell you - rudely - to get to the point. He thinks the world and most of the people in it suck, and that's why he's working to rid the world of those people, in the most efficient way possible. His esteem is hard-earned, but he has no trouble offering it where it's deserved, and he treats those few who he deems worthy with the respect of an equal. There is another side of him, but the only ones who ever see it - and only briefly - are the slaves he helps smuggle out of Minrathous, and the genuinely innocent victims, forgotten by the powerful of Tevinter.
Background: He hates his adoptive father with a cold passion. He was never going to fight for the side of Tevinter, so they were always at odds. He learned to sneak out of the house at an early age, where he was mostly surviving on his own - it's where he learned to be sneaky, and learned to navigate the underbelly and dark alleys of Minrathrous. He doesn't use the given name from his adoptive family but goes by a codename, Vessel, as he prefers thinking of himself only as a vessel for justice (and sometimes, vengeance.) Learned how to blend in easily with other groups and factions; a one-man spy operation, working mostly independently so as to be untraceable, with occasional trusted contacts in the Shadow Dragons. Keeps his face and identity secret as much as possible, so that his doings don't get reported back to Mercar or that connection used against him. He only uses his surname when the weight of the title could be useful. He's a loner who isn't used to working with a team, and struggles with how to trust and connect to others, as he's worked hard to never need anyone.
Antaam-turned-Warden, my interpretation of a "What happened if Sten from Origins went the way of Iron Bull from Inquisition?"
Personality: Still...developing. His personality for most of his life was reduced to "kill things for the Qun" and he was heavily disincentivized in thinking about anything else. He's innately curious, and learning it's okay to ask questions, but he still has the instinct to hit first, ask later. Surprises himself with random moments of wanting to do things the Qun wouldn't have wanted him to think, care about, or do. Things that have no purpose, like the urge to admire the view, pet a cat, or save an innocent civilian. He means well, most of the time, but tends to stick his foot in his mouth, as he's still learning how the bas talk to each other. He's not used to talking, in general.
Background: Among the earlier waves of Antaam that broke from the Qun to invade on their own, Basreth was just a cog in the Qunari war machine, not an individual who had been allowed to develop many of his own interests or opinions about much. His squad of fairly new young soldiers were sent to investigate a report of rogue darkspawn, and they were caught by surprise and overwhelmed. Basreth was the sole survivor, though left infected by the Blight. he had accepted death, as he was no longer pure in the Qun - when the Grey Wardens showed up to investigate the same darkspawn. Impressed that Basreth had finished them off alone and survived, they offered for him to join the Grey Wardens, convincing him that dedicating his life to killing darkspawn was a better use of his body than letting it rot to bones that served no one, and therefore a more honorable choice in the eyes of the Qun. He accepted, and became Basreth, "thing that protects." He is not Tal-Vasoth, but neither is he truly Qunari anymore. Instead, he's thrown his entire fledgling identity into that of a Grey Warden, channeling all the single-minded loyalty that used to go to the Qun into his masters.
Created solely to romance Emmrich, lol
Personality: A scientific, creative open mind paired with bull-headed stubbornness when she knows she's right. Studious, rational, curious, who loves intellectual debate and schooling others she sees as less well-read. A bad-ass mage who likes showing off. Dry wit. Reads obscure high-brow literature and offers to discuss it, acts surprised when others have heard of her favorite scholarly papers.

i swear i took like a million screenshots back when i last played da:i back in 2021-ish but i couldnt find any of them on my blog so. here goes
this is my canon inquisitor ariel lavellan hes a sweet lil guy who used to be the second for his clans keeper (an elder cousin of his was the first because she showed more interest in actual leadership and passing down of rites whereas he showed more interest in hitting things with swords and/or fireballs) but then during his time in the inquisition his little niece started showing magical ability so the keeper was like 'ok well obviously we are keeping the child. the adult man whos leading a whole ass inquisition a few countries over can come visit any time but unforchunately were full on mages now' (its ok bc after the game he takes up varrics offer of living in kirkwall and becomes good friends with merrill. and of course visits his clan as often as hes able)
he romances dorian and iron bull (and if the game allowed it hed teach solas about the joys of bisexuality too. alas!!) and he uses a greatsword and casts spells and likes to think of himself as an arcane warrior of eld instead of a chantry-bound knight enchanter. i care him very very much :3
#shows u my blorbo: please perceive.... thank u#please imagine him half a head shorter than dorian etc hes supposed to be Small#with the red hair and rosy cheeks and the softest plushest little lips that were Made For Sucking Dick#he becomes a Lot Less Sweet during/after Trespasser. hes tired of being nice he wants JUSTICE#lavellan#male lavellan#dragon age: inquisition#dai#dragon age

All right, been working on the boy for awhile so I’m eager to share about him! (Fair warning, there will be some differences from canon, and it got a little long so it’s under a cut)
Caleb Lavellan, he/him, roughly 25 at the start of Inquisition, elf, mage, Arcane Warrior
Condensed backstory, he is an adopted member of Clan Lavellan. Was an apprentice to Warden-Commander Mahariel before he left in search of a cure for the Blight. They met after the Warden slew the Archdemon. Through a chance meeting he also travelled with Anders around the Fifth Blight, hiding from Templars and Darkspawn.
Romanced Harding and Solas. Kenric also fits in there somewhere.
The romance was more of an accidental thing, mainly because he likes to flirt when nervous or mess with whoever he’s talking to. And he’s an idiot who thinks he’s cleverer than he really is. The Fade kiss only happened because he was convinced he was actually talking to a spirit that had picked up on his interest in Solas.
Broke canon a little in that Caleb initiates the breakup in Crestwood himself. He was convinced his good bad luck was going to run out and he was going to die stopping Corypheus and he panicked. Then Solas had his own panic. Harding is tired of Thedas’ dramatic, angst elven men.
Closest besides Solas would definitely be Sera and Dorian. Cole comes very close.
Things were very rocky with Bull and Vivienne initially. Bull, because he has an adopted sister who is a Vashoth mage that he’s protective of. Vivienne, just because they have very different views on mage freedom. Cassandra and Cullen fall in here too. There is eventually a mutual respect and a close friendship, at least with Bull and Vivienne.
The Chargers were saved. Caleb couldn’t ask Bull to sacrifice his men, and he did have a bias to keep them safe rather than maintain an alliance.
He and Blackwall were friends and Caleb’s fatal flaw is his devotion towards people he’s close with. Rainier was forgiven.
Cole seemed like he was on the way to become human already. He and Varric were just helping him along.
Briala rules through Gaspard.
Slight canon divergence here, in that a few of his friends in Clan Lavellan, including my Tabris, joined the Inquisition with him. Tabris found what Celene did to the Halamshiral alienage through talking with the servants and urged Caleb to let the Empress be assassinated.
Loghain was left in the Fade. It was not an easy decision, and in response Caleb does experimental testing with the Mark involving trying to figure out how to open Rifts himself at will and gain more mastery over it to try to avoid similar situations. This has a side effect of almost destabilizing the Mark earlier than canon.
Local Inquisitor gets up to enough shit that eventually Solas doesn’t even need magic to keep his hair from growing back. Harding likes most of the mayhem, but even she gets a few gray hairs from his antics.
Against the advice of almost everyone in the room, Caleb drank from the Well. He couldn’t let Morrigan take the knowledge and risk her not sharing it beyond what was needed for the situation. This decision has had zero consequences (lie).
Leliana became Divine. Caleb tried his hand at being Spymaster after she left and he wasn’t in the field closing Rifts. Charter forced him to let her take over.
See Blackwall above. That is his friend/ex-lover/current lover/It’s Complicated, and he will try to change his mind.
Adding a screenshot of the guy. This is all only a part of what I have, and doesn’t even mention my AU where Anders is the Warden contact, which I wish was an option in-game
InQUIZitor: A questionnaire to hype us up for Veilguard
So I read this article stating that in The Veilguard, we'll be able to make our Inquisitors in the CC and pick some of their crucial decisions. I immediately FREAKED OUT and made a lil questionnaire for my fwens to tell me about their Inquisitors and their crucial decisions, and I thought I would share!
FRIENDS, PALS, BUDDIES: Feel free to fill out this questionnaire, send it to anyone who wants to scream about their Inky, and reblog as you see fit!
Feel free to add any other information or decisions that felt crucial to you (e.g. if you were Dalish, did the Lavellan clan survive?), and expand on your answers as much as you want!
************
Inquisitor name, age, race, class:
Romance (if applicable):
Best friends among the Inquisition members (pick 3):
Least favourite Inquisition member/who they got along with the least:
Did they save the Chargers or sacrifice them?
What did they do about Blackwall?
Did Cole become spirit vs. human?
Who did they put in power at the Winter Palace?
Who did they leave in the Fade?
Did they drink from the Vir'Abelasan, or did Morrigan?
Who became the Divine?
Are they friendly with Solas? Did they want to "save" Solas or kill him at the end of Trespasser?

Fane’s Adventures Continue!
I said I was gonna blow up people’s dash with my boy, so blow it up I shall! I’ll probably end up just doing this until I beat the damn game. It’s too much fun~!
****
In which Fane wrestles with the fact that people aren’t angry like him by default.
Fane, internal monologue: Is he..joking? Am I supposed to joke too? I should, shouldn’t I? What are jokes though? I don’t do jokes, but maybe I should--
Fane, being typical Fane: I didn’t want to fucking be here, you know.
Cullen, again, someone just trying to be light: Ah..well, that’s.. I understand..
Fane, internally slapping himself: Why am I like this? Why am I fucking like this?!
****
Local dragon is hailed the Herald of Andraste, and can’t cope because the weird, familiar elf makes him feel things.
Fane, internally: Why the is he so familiar? I never left the clan before this, so what the hell? This doesn’t make sense! Maybe it’s the mark messing with my head? But why would it--? Oh, hey, he’s..smiling? At me? Why would he--?
Solas, just really confused and intrigued: Herald, are you--?
Fane, without thinking: Your face looks good like that.
Solas: I’m..sorry?
Fane, realizes what he said and blanks: I’m..gonna go die now. Just leave me in the ditch when you find me, okay? *embarrassed dragon roars in his head* What is wrong with me?! ‘Your face looks good like that’?! Who the hell says that?!
*****
In which Fane wants to take a nap because he can’t handle this level of insularity. Meanwhile, has no idea he already did that. *finger guns*
Fane, mildy amused: Why do these idiots act like that care about sanctity? They only care where they can put an army, or their own asses. This is tiresome. I need a nap. I think a thousand years worth of sleep would do it..
***
There’s plenty of trees in the Hinterlands, and Fane will use them. With his head and a lot of force.
Scout Harding: Herald of Andraste, huh? That’s--
Fane: Don’t. I mean..I’ve already fucked myself over enough in the last two days, can we please just stop before I slam my head against the trunk of a tree?
Scout Harding, confused: Uhh, sure! Whatever you want, Herald.
Fane, urge to kill rising from title: Thank you. Truly. *internal dragon roars intensify*
***
That’s all I got for now! Yeah, for now, there’s more coming. I’m having a ball with this! Eheheh~
#dragon age#dragon inquisition#da:i#my screenshots#oc: fane lavellan#male lavellan#solas#cullen rutherford#scout harding#i think all of Haven's arc was Fane literally wanting to sleep or die#and trying to figure out who the hell Solas was to him#fane is just a socially awkward turtle because he never interacted with the clan or anyone else lol#just his sister really#Skyhold arc was about the same but he mellowed out a bit

“Looks like we’ll wade.”
Tamris answered the qunari with an affirmative grunt. He could see one spot where crossing the river without getting their boots wet would’ve been possible, but chose to keep it to himself. The elf could picture himself leaping across the natural bridge formed of heavily eroded rocks, but The Iron Bull’s weight just might have caused it to come crashing down.
Besides, he actually preferred it like this. The stream wasn’t very strong and the water didn’t come close to reaching his knees. The coldness of the water was refreshing, and helped him ground himself in the moment. The chatter of birds in the riverside trees, although their voices foreign, made him feel at home. Welcome.
He’d always loved the gentle song of a flowing river, but now the pleasant memories of joyful hunting trips were framed with a bittersweet longing. The loss of his clan still hung over him as a shadow, no matter how much he tried to occupy his mind with something else. How long had it been, three weeks? Four?
His boots would be soaked. Perhaps ruined. Only a minor inconvenience, of course, as he was counting on encountering some real problems sooner rather than later.

#yolanda talks#smh i still ship fentora lavellan wiith merrill more than i ship her with her canon protagonist LI aka marian hawke asjdflksa#LISTEN! I LOVE MARIAN! BUT SHE IS NO ELF!!!#also the way i characterize fentora...the way she sounds...she is basically marian hawke anyways#i already plan marian hawke/merrill as my canon romance.....idk man i dont wanna kill hawke in da:i smh.......#(i did it once on my 2nd aka dorian romance playthrough but shhh)#but im gonna be honest im not that satisfied with josephine romance. like. at all. even tho thats technically my *canon* romance#my icon is josie but thats only bc shes asian and im asian...u know how it is...also i still havent drawn fentora#i still want fentora as my icon...but i dont have a HD screenshot of her so i gotta draw a portrait#also josie didnt actually married the inquisitor by the end of trespasser dlc...which means they could always grow apart#not that i want them to smh...i like to think fentora lavellan got into sea trade after varric gave her keys to kirkwall harbor#and josie is getting her family back to sea trade business...its gonna be a long term relationship anyways#i like to think josie and lavellan got married and lavellan moved in but what if they didn't and then grew apart bc long term relationship?#and then the inquisitor could have still met merrill while at kirkwall since merrill is helping the ppl at alienage#and like the inquisitor is trying to learn more abt solas--who is travelling via eluvian!#and fentora in particular has a past history with the now deceased First of her clan lavellan#the way i imagine the First of lavellan clan (its ellana by default but no in my version its Aerlin)#is that shes kinda like merrill...personality wise#merrill is another First.......u see this could blossom into a romance lmao sdajflkasj#idk if i wanna make this my canon......since i know absolutely no one will root for this canon lmao#i mean the whole reason i romanced josie on first playthrough is bc i see her as more of a end game type of love interest#but now im not so sure............

I did a bad thing and now have ended up with a fifth Inquisitor (I think I have a problem =P)
Meet Thorn Lavellan, Bramble’s little brother and First to the Keeper! He’s just as excitable and innocent as Bramble and probably even more so =P
