some  of  you  never  got  stuck  in  a  zombie  infested  city  looking  for  your  brother  ,  escaped  and  adopted  a  kid  then  grew  up  to  be  a  director  of  humanitarian  organization  that  fights  exactly  what  you  almost  died  for...  AND  IT  REALLY  SHOWS.

also  ,  one  more  point:     the  version  of  claire  redfield  i  PREFER  playing  is  the  version  where  she’s  almost  40  years  old  ,  the  director  of  terrasave  and  in  a  relationship  with  a  27  year  old  woman.    both  of  whom  are  battling  ptsd  and  learning  to  live  beyond  the  island  incident  and  both  of  whom  are  extremely  intelligent.

leon’s  making  his  way  through  raccoon  city  in  knee  pads  and  the  extra  protection  of  a  bullet  proof  vest  for  hits.    claire?    yeah  ,  claire  peels  off  her  only  extra  layer  to  give  to  sherry.    she’s  just  out  there  braving  shit  and  probably  being  cold  without  batting  an  eyelash.

anyway  ,  if  claire  hadn’t  run  off  to  get  locked  up  by  the  ashford’s  in  the  chase  to  find  her  brother  ,  she  definitely  would  have  adopted  sherry.     i’m  just  happy  that  sherry  holds  no  ounce  of  loathing  for  claire  running  off  --     sherry  just  always  sees  the  best  in  claire  and  in  return  ,  sherry  and  leon  are  still  her  favorite  role  models.

and  in  all  honesty  ,  claire  loves  sherry  with  every  ounce  of  her  soul.

do  you  ever  think  about  how  low  neil  fisher  really  is?    like  he  picked  claire  ,  gabriel  ,  pedro  ,  gina  and  natalia  specifically  because  they  survived  prior  bioterrorist  attacks.   he  purposely  put  every  single  one  of  them  through  another  nightmare.

claire  is  that  person  that  flirts  for  chris  when  it  comes  to  jill.     which  is  also  kind  of  funny  because  she’s  HORRIBLE  at  flirting  when  it  comes  to  herself.    it  literally  took  a  whole  entire  biohazard  incident  and  THEN  SOME  just  to  confess  her  feelings  to  moira  and  it’s  actually  barry  that  had  a  small  percentage  in  ushering  them  together.    chris  and  claire  are  just  so  alike  in  all  ways  except  one:     chris  chose  special  ops  and  the  direct  battle  ,  claire  chose  humanitarian  efforts  and  cleaning  up  the  battle  but  also  in  that  retrospect  they’ll  always  compliment  each  other.

i  think  about  it  all  the  time  and  how  claire  was  legitimately  injected  with  a  virus  ,  a  dormant  one  that  is  only  triggered  by  extreme  fear  and  like  claire  is  just  immune  to  extreme  panic  and  fear  these  days  ,  but  while  she  isn’t  afraid  ,  she  LOATHES  this  fact.    nobody  ever  brings  it  up  and  if  it  is  brought  up  ,  it’s  usually  more  centered  around  moira  and  how  moira’s  the  anti-virus.      claire’s  not  though  and  she  hates  the  fact  she’s  now  infected  with  EVERYTHING  in  her.     this  is  actually  one  of  the  biggest  reasons  post  rev  2  she  just  looks  angrier  and  a  little  more  off  putting  than  she  ever  did.    but   also  if  someone  DID  directly  ask  or  mention  it  ,  she  might  actually  both  break  down  and  tears  and  throw  things  around.

it  bothers  her  that  much.     she’s  just  normally  quiet  about  it.

sometimes  i’m  just  happily  doing  dash  stuff  ,  just  scrolling  ,  just  doing  replies.   being  content...  then  i  remember:

that  claire  thought  moira  was  dead  for  six  months  and  that  she  has  so  many  parallels  to  her  brother  that  it’s  unfair.

A  SMALL  GUST  OF  WIND  rattles  the  tent.     sue  her,  honestly.    she  asked --  wondered  if  camping  was  a  bad  idea  ( memories,  you  know )  but  when  moira  answered,  she  looked  CONTEMPLATIVE,  not  nervous.    so,  she  set  something  up.    there’s  a  lake  just  a  short  walk  away,  functioning  bathrooms  with  showers.    actual  campgrounds,  something  more  VACATION  and  less  survival.    it  was  definitely  the  way  moira  was  answering  slowly,  pauses  after  everything  claire  said,  just  looking  around  the  tent.  STUDYING  IT.    that  survival  tic. 

she  really  could  have  tried  some  speech  after  she  firmly  said:    but...    it  was  those  THOSE  DAMN  BROWN  EYES,  that  firm  pout  that  made  moira’s  lips  seem  so  full.    those  loud,  firm  reminders  that  moira  burton  is  her  damn...  fiancee.   somehow,  just  like  that,  THEY’RE  BOTH  LYING  ON  THEIR  SIDES,  something  breathless  to  their  voices.   her  leg  in  between  moira’s.     she  opened  her  eyes  to  peer  at  moira,  but  all  it  took  WAS  THAT  GRINDING  to  close  them.     claire’s  short  fingernails  dig  into  moira’s  scalp  because  that’s  where  her  hands  still  are  from  dragging  moira  into  a  kiss.  she  still  doesn’t  THINK  IT’S  FAIR  to  fall  so  head  in  heels  in  love.    it’s  not  even  just  about  sex --     she  wants  to  get  so  physically  &  emotionally  close  to  moira.    it’s  that  connection  SHE  REALLY  DESIRES. 

‘  my  phone  barely  even  has  any  service.     i  was  going  to  wait  until  after  we  started  a  fire,  TRIED  SOME  S’MORES.   a  little  camping  stuff,  you  know?  ’      claire  pauses,  you  can  even  hear  her  take  a  breath  in,  the  joke  dripping  from  her  lips  in  continuation  WITH  MOIRA.         ‘  but,  you  did  that  pout  thing  that  makes  your  lips  look  even  more  kissable  than  usual.  ’        so,  please.    take  off  that  tight  fitting,  plain  black  t-shirt  she’s  wearing  JUST  FOR  THIS  OCCASION.

so  like  i  was  also  just  talking  about  it  with  @racoonsurvivor  ,  so  thanks  for  the  gruesome  reminder  but...    re  6  timeline.    it’s  awful  for  claire.    hunnigan  pronounces  leon  dead  ,  sherry  is  fucking  MISSING  ,  chris  and  piers  are  also  there.    that’s  half  of  her  goddamn  family  and  it’s  not  too  long  after  JUST  getting  moira  back. she’s  a  fucking  wreck  during  that  time  and  somebody’s  gonna  have  to  hold  her.

anyway  claire’s  the  director  of  terrasave  and  that  really  blossoms  my  flowers.

“  GO!    JUST  GO!  ”        that  was  definitely  an  order  ,  there’s  no  room  for  argument  ,  a  small  amount  of  desperation  laced  into  claire’s  normally  steady  inclination.  she  came  barreling  around  that  corner  like  no  tomorrow.     there  tomorrow’s  are  limited  these  days.    the  apocalypse  and  all.    no  single  ,  normal  zombie  scares  her  anymore.  it’s  just  got  to  be  something  else.     claire  holds  out  a  hand  ,  shoving  carlos  hard  ,  get  him  moving  faster  even  quicker.    she  raises  her  gun  ,  fires  it  ,  but  not  at  anything  but  the  window  of  the  building  they’re  in.

one  last  look  behind  her  ,  a  zombie  dog  comes  sliding  around  the  corner  down  the  hall.    growling  ,  bleeding  ,  drooling.    those  might  be  leftover  intestines  in  it’s  mouth.    she  doesn’t  want  to  be  close  enough  to  figure  it  out.     normally  the  smaller  towns  are  relatively  easy  to  handle  ,  but  every  now  and  again  and  animal  will  escape  being  eaten  alive  by  it’s  human  counterparts  and  instead  be  infected  enough  to  continue  to  run  around.    those  are  the  worst.    good  thing  they  haven’t  encountered  cats  --    maybe  cats  are  the  cure.    who  really  knows.    not  her  panic.

it’s  claire  that  volunteers  to  go  first  ,  jumping  at  the  window  ,  shoulder  first ,  crashing  through  the  window  pane  and  rolling  outside.    cement  digs  into  her  shoulder  ,  she  can  feel  the  skin  breaking  ,   that’s  going  to  scratch.     but  she’s  on  her  feet  in  the  street  again.    outside  of  the  mini  mart.    she  braces  ,  aims  her  glock.
