location — the burger joint.
character — @cjwelford
First stop was always food when it came to the pair of them. At least this time, it didn't come at the price of a car payment. "Here me out, alright? I know it's crazy to drop an insane amount of money on something that Alex is almost too big for anyway, and that Maggie might hate, but look at this," he explained, fingers curled tightly around his phone as he flashed it's brightly lit screen towards the male across from him in the booth. It was a kid's electric jeep, almost identical to the one that sat in the lot with his stuff scattered within. "It's badass, right? I've got plenty of lan for them to go crazy on. Looks like their dad's jeep that they both love. I mean, sure, it's almost five hundred bucks, but it seems worth it."

"You should always knock my judgement. Should probably question it too. I didn't end up married because I make solid decisions," she teased lightly, though it was every bit of the truth. A rational person would have sobered up before agreeing to something as legally binding as marriage, but Ver? She'd played a game of chicken and while she hadn't lost, it had still been reckless. When the shot was passed her way, she nodded with a widely stretched grin. "To happiness and vibes," she agreed she welcomed the liquor in one smooth take.
@cjwelford — THE END
“Cool,” He said in agreement, matching her wide smile. “I mean, I only said it because it was a funny name, but hey, not knocking your judgment.” The amount of shit CJ consumed, he’d be an absolute hippo…something. He turned to get the bartender’s attention, ordering two Slippery Nipples, deciding to at least join her in this quest. At her question, CJ nodded. “Yeah, it’s got me through life so far. And that's all that matters at the end of the day.” He handed her glass to her, holding his up to toast. “To happiness and vibes!”

"I can't believe he said that. I mean, sure, his photos are hot, but the whole are you French? Because Eiffel for you pick-up line killed it for me," Ingrid responded, bursting into laughter as she showed the message on Tinder. "I swear, my luck with this lately is hitting rock bottom, and this is only exhibit A," she added, shaking her head in disbelief. "I'm thinking of unmatching and dedicating the next hour to just bitching about it. What do you say? Oh, and by the way, why don't we order something? Are you feeling hungry?" she continued, seamlessly transitioning from her dating misadventures to a more practical and inviting suggestion.

location / deja brew (open mic night)
"Try not to be obvious, but I think that girl over there in the purple top is checking you out." Penny casually glanced off to the side, sipping on the dark roast brew in her cup. The open mic night had the coffee house buzzing with life and music. Penny popped in to check out event and ended up running into CJ while she was there. They grabbed a table together and settled down to watch the talented performers step up to the mic. "I think someone has an admirer," she flashed a teasing smile.

"Okay, I'm willing to admit that maybe this was a bad idea," Yas spoke up as she pushed through some of the brush in front of them. A hike was generally always something she could get behind, but the cold weather had her shivering as they walked. The only thing keeping her moving at that point was the fact that the movement was keeping her from freezing completely. "It's so beautiful, but man, I forget how miserable it is out here below thirty." No matter how bundled up she'd gotten before they'd met up, the frigid cold was unrelenting.

Characters: Elliot Chapman & CJ Welford (@cjwelford) Location: Holy Spirits Closed Starter
Saturday nights were always the busiest at the speakeasy, and as he sat down by the bar with a beer in his hands, he could not help but notice how today was no different. The weather wasn't the best outside, which probably made the speakeasy the perfect place to hang out at considering the cosiness of it. His eyes darted towards the door and he immediately spotted a familiar face, who approached the bar where he was seated. "CJ! Hey bud. Haven't seen you in a while."

LOCATION — Peak Seasons Ballroom, Saints & Sinners event.
WHO — Sebastian & CJ ( @cjwelford ).
“You think Jean Bean will, like, worry about us or whatever if we get a room for the night?” The question came out randomly, not relevant to the conversation they were having at all, as Seb’s eyes drifted away from the giant sign that advertised a ten percent discount on a stay at the hotel and back to CJ. They were sitting on a recently vacated couch just outside the ballroom, left promptly by some touchy couple who probably hurried to take up the same offer — and now that they were sitting here, it was all that he could think about too. With how fancy this place was, the aforementioned hotel rooms had to be fucking insane. And ten percent off most likely didn’t make them cheap, in the grand scheme of things, but whatever price they had to pay would be so worth it. He’d gladly fork over some winnings from his latest fight for a chance to sleep with the undoubtedly luxurious bedding, shower with the fanciest tiny bottles of care products, and eat all the complimentary snacks with his best friend. “I think it’s a good idea, man. Like, I’ve never stayed here before but they’ve gotta have the biggest bathtub in these rooms known to man or somethin’! The comfiest beds ever! The most fancy-ass free snacks!” He leaned closer to CJ, his eyes a bit puppy-like as he continued to stare at him, waiting for approval.

The kids having just finished up their swim lesson and free swim time in the indoor pool to head to the locker rooms; it gave a few moments to talk with CJ. She wanted to thank him yet again for stepping up and volunteering for the role and also figure out exactly how often they could do this. "Hey! You were great with the kids. Thank you so much, CJ. You don't know how much this means to them all. Thanks for making this is a safe space, dude. Also, how often do you think we could set this up?" Rachel wanted to make sure that this was an option for the True Colors kids, especially the ones who were just learning how to swim for the first time and would need a bit more time to feel more comfortable.

closed starter for @cjwelford at the burger joint
There weren't many cheat days in Tyler's diet to speak of, but when they happened she didn't mess around. After a long week of prep work for an upcoming fight, Ty was bouncing eagerly in the line at the Burger Joint. By the time she was up to the counter, ordering the biggest basket of fries possible, two burgers, and a milkshake, the tables had all been taken up. Turning with a scowl when she realized it, Ty let out a low huff of annoyance before spotting a table with just one sort of familiar face at it. As much as she hated the idea of having to spend her dinner time with another person, it was better than having to go sit outside on the ground. Marching over, she took the seat across from CJ without asking, platter dropping to the table with a loud clatter. "I'm sitting here," she announced, not willing to take no for an answer.

— cj welford cinematic, claret park.
Waiting was never something Emmy was particularly good at. Even when she knew who she was waiting for, after a few minutes of puttering around with nothing to do, anxiety still filled her stomach and the acid inside swam uncomfortably. Even the cigarette she was stubbing out on the concrete of the building did little to calm the antsy feeling she could sense taking over. Maybe it was a fear of the person never showing up or something biological or maybe a habit picked up from Tyler's ever persisting impatience. Whatever it was, Emmy sucked at it, and decided after a short moment that she would just shove the cigarette butt in her coat pocket and make her way into the theater to pre-buy their snacks while waiting. At least it would give her something else to focus on for the time being. She was halfway through ordering a bucket of popcorn when she noticed a man nearby, glancing at the board overhead that listed the concessions. Her brow crinkled with familiarity. "Hey, I've seen you around before," Emmy pointed out, realizing she could be mistaken, but one of her talents was, usually, never forgetting face. "You were at my wedding, right? I saw you talking to my wife."

—Starter for @cjwelford Location: Peak Fitness
With the temperatures outside now cold enough to fully freeze a nutsack, the gym — and in particular the treadmills — were busier than ever. Foster had spent the last 15 minutes waiting for a spot to open up, and when a pair of friends vacated their machines, he rushed to grab one just as someone else ran for the other. He turned to give them a terse smile, a kind of 'great minds think alike' gesture, but the look spoiled as he realized it wasn't just some stranger on the machine beside him. "Oh," he said disappointingly, the syllable spilling out before he could even think to stop it.
#c: cj welford#//i just wanted to see foster being at his peak dumbass and obviously that would be at the gym with the juices already flowing#he'll get competitive and lose control of his one remaining brain cell

location — friday night
character — @cjwelford
He'd been mid-conversation with two of his old high school buddies when he saw a familiar face wandering around the outskirts of the crowd. A lame excuse was given and a few moments later, he was playfully bumping the other with his shoulder as if it'd been an accidental run-in. "Hey you. I heard there's about to be a cool ass magic show. You wanna go?" He peered over his shoulder to where his old friends looked confused. He'd rattled off something about the bathroom, but clearly that wasn't his intent. "Or we could go anywhere, really. Some old friends of mine were chatting me up and I might have told them I needed to use the bathroom. So, your call, big shot."

"Exactly," he mouthed with raised brows and a boyish grin. He knew that the other's look said everything. It was terribly ironic that most people assumed him to be the tall savage of the pairing, when the blonde could wreak far more havoc than he could ever imagine. Atlas mocked the other beneath a childish tone before he washed down the playful look with a sip from the perfectly chilled water they'd already served. "You really are an asshole, Welford, but I can't say I'd complain if this kid comes out looking like and acting like Ken. Hell, it's probably for the best." Out of both of his children, it was Alex who beared the most resemblance to him. Maggie, however, was the copy and paste version of Sage. "Not even with mac and cheese. Sounds like a lot of work. Typically, I just want to dig in." If they were going to run up a bill for one time's sake, he'd go all out, little encouragement needed, but all appreciated. "And so are you, kind fellow. Get whatever the hell you want. You wanna help me pick out a lobster? Don't know shit about which one is the best."
@cjwelford
CJ winced at the visual, and made a mental note to try and not cross Kennedy next time he saw her, his own menu forgotten on the table as he leaned back and swung on his chair, people watching all the snobs in the dining area, deciding to just choose a dish at random and hope for the best. There was very little that CJ wouldn’t eat, after all. “I mean, she’s not wrong, bruh, you are an idiot, sometimes. I hope this new baby is like your other kids who take after their moms more,” He teased lightly, throwing Atlas a wink for good measure. “Never? Not even with mac and cheese? Dude it’s fucking wonderful, you get to like, crack open its shell and everything. I wonder…” He leaned back again, craning his neck and beaming with delight. “Yes, they have a tank! You get to pick your lobster!” He turned back to Atlas, features oddly serious. “You, good sir, are about to have the sickest meal of your life.”

"I am not sure how hungry you were, so I got you two different ones," Ingrid said, holding up the bag with the wrapped sandwiches from the lunchbox she went to before stopping by. "I figured if you were too busy eating, you'd let me push some fun buttons again," she joked, closing the door behind her. It was only one of the many perks of their friendship, and lately, Ingrid was enjoying every minute of their time together. "Unless you've already eaten... then whoops, bad timing."

— SETTING: spring extravaganza ; april 9th, charity baseball game — AVAILABILITY: closed starter for CJ WELFORD | ( @cjwelford )
Sara took a bite from the hot dog she had in hands when one of the teams scored a home run, which made her turn around slightly startled by the cheers and immediately raised one hand, cheering, too. She noticed a familiar face nearby and approached him, taking a cup of soda with her. "You look thirsty." She chuckled, offering the untouched soda to him. "Hi, CJ." Sara smiled, happy to be around the younger man again. They had chatted so many times before, mostly in the Break Room whenever she was having problems with Max and then Hyun Woo, which, granted him somewhat a friendship with him? Maybe? "It's been a while, hasn't it? Did we really see each other last at the New Years Eve party?"

"What do you say we make this more interesting?" Yasemin offered as she leaned over to pick up the puck from the side of the air hockey table they'd just fired up. While she wasn't a professional air hockey player, she liked to think of herself as pretty dang good at it. The margarita that was half finished and sitting on the side of the table next to her was probably also talking just a little bit of game. "Every time someone scores, the other person has to answer a truth or do a dare." In her head, there was simply no way that she'd get scored on herself and after hanging around CJ quite a bit now, she did admittedly want to get to know him better. All in all, it felt like a win any which way.
