Yoglabs: Behind Closed Doors - Mass Spoiler Post
Tumblr media
General Outline
So the general outline for the plot revolved around my OC Subject K, and her rose tinted perspective on the state of yoglabs before slowly uncovering the truth of her own purpose as well as the underlying secrets the lab holds.
The story is set after the events of Shadow of Israphel and Yoglabs with the series like Blackrock, Flux buddies, Flux Baddies and Sipsco all being cannon to the universe.
Character Plots
Since the story is so heavily character focused and thats kinda the layout in my head, ill breakdown events via characters and important points.
Subject K
The main character of the story. She was born on a boat to an archaeologist couple, however her mother died in childbirth. Her father treasured her dearly, and brought her along for alot of his studdies, teaching her to draw and gifting her the sketchbook she has. During studies into the lost 4th dimension, (the aether, the nether and the errebus are all cannon with the lost 4th dimension being oceanus) their boat is attacked by a greater elder guardian and destroyed. This gives her a deep fear of the sea and anything tentacle-y. K washes up on a beach and walks aimlessly for days in search of any kind of civilization to help her. She finally comes across a town of people who rather than help her, drive her out as an ill omen saying she'll only bring destruction. Tired and close to giving up on everything, she hides away in a nearby cave for shelter and decides she's better off alone. She ends up stealing what she needs from the village to survive, surviving but never really making anything of herself. One night, during a usual raid on the village, it also gets raided by yoglabs, capturing the villagers and herself in the process. She is then used as the 11th subject in project divinity, a project aiming to recreate Ridgedog. she's spliced with his DNA and given a secondary heart and circulatory system, and though she survives, she doesn't manifest any of the power or abilities of her predecessor. The fact that her second heart doesn't work is actually what saves her life. in a desperate attempt to kickstart her 2nd heart and her magic, Xephos decides to use what they have left of Ridges Ichor, essentially, liquified magic that pumps through the secondary circulatory system of a demigod fuelling their power. This kickstarts her magic, but she cant control it properly. Her body just keeps generating energy with no limit. her outburst of power on the village, destroying it entirely stops her from burning out and overloading herself by venting some of the excess power. When she's brought back to the labs, she's fitted with her collar and told by Xephos its to keep her alive. while not entirely a lie, what she isn't told is that it slowly siphons her energy to fuel a secret project at the labs Site B. more on that later. She's thankful for a proper home and a second chance at life and through her interactions with Xephos, she comes to understand him as a very conflicted and troubled man. At one point she finds him late at night passed out with a bottle of gin next to Honeydew's clone vat. at that point she develops a sense of sympathy for the lonely spaceman as a kindred spirit. She knows herself how devastating loss can be. Once her magic awakens, she has dreams that are flashbacks to Ridge's life including time spent with his brother, who always refers to him as "pup". (i had some ideas with coming up with a fun anagram for his brothers name, but the best i could do was Earlship)
Xephos
Originally an alien who crash lands, leading into the events of Shadow of Israphel, they face off with the man himself deep in the heart of one of his facilities (heehoo site B) where Israphel is attempting to rebuild one of the huge robots (remember the hand in the sand?) and has been using a cloning system to create workers and versions of himself. He is also using Ridgedog as a generator to fuel the energy needed for the giant robot. The original Israphel is hooked up to what seems to be a large life support machine. they stop Israphel's plan, but Xephos receives a fatal blow. To save his best friends life, Honeydew hooks him up to the life support system granting him control of the facility. They rebuild the Yoglabs main site, originally using it for good, but Xephos becomes obsessed with the cloning systems. after loosing Knight Peculiar, he cant bare the thought of loosing Honeydew and through extensive testing develops a strange desensitization to the meaning of loss. After the Clone Labs Takeover Honeydew's current clone replaces the original master version. (yes I know that's not exactly how it goes in the episode, but CREATIVE LICENCE) however, since cloning at this point is still imperfect, this new Master Clone slowly deteriorates, loosing memories, cognitive functions. imagine immense dementia. until the point Xephos stops cloning him, not wanting to make the situation any worse. Xephos thows himself even deeper into perfecting cloning to save his best friend, but begins loosing sight of his reasoning through obsession. When he begins trying to clone Ridgedog despite ridge's warnings, the first attempt ends in a catastrophic failure, destroying a large portion of the labs in the process. Ridgedog confronts him on this to which Xephos challenges him to a duel. Ridge begrudgingly accepts, and the swordfight takes place on the cliff above the main door of the lab. Ridge easily beats Xephos and begins lecturing xeph on the danger of what he's messing with. as ridge turns to look out over the cliff face, Xephos strikes, running him through and leaning close revealing himself to be controlled by israphel; "you always were too trusting, Pup." before kicking him off the top of the labs. Ridge falls landing in a huge explosion of light. While Xephos is being controlled by Israphel, most of the time its rather subtle, twisting xephos' beliefs and desires into his own. With the original Ridgedog now gone, Xephos dives even deeper into project divinity, driven by Xephos' regret and Israphels need for a replacement power source for the giant robot project; Sentinel. Thus, K is created being the first surviving subject.
Lalnable Hector
Lalnable is one of 3 active Lalnas in the universe. the others being Lalna, the Flux Buds Variant and LividCoffee the original from the Duncan's lab series. Lalnable plays the biggest part in the story of the 3 being Yoglabs' clone. while defective, Lalnable is all yoglabs is left with in terms of lalna since Livid left destroying any record of his original DNA in the process. Lalnable does leave yoglabs before subject Ks creation to investigate the flux buddies and the events of Flux Baddies takes place. However, Specimen 5s Flux corruption quickly grows out of control and rather than deal with the mess and fast spreading flux corruption, he cuts his losses and flees back to yoglabs. The magical corruption however gains the attention of a certain endermage, Rythian, who tracks Lalnable back to the labs, breaking in to confront the scientist about his actions. Rather than kicking rythian out, Xephos takes the opportunity to make a deal with the mage, if yoglabs offers its resources to deal with the flux, rythian would offer his understanding of magic to help subject K better control her powers. Xephos orders Lalnable to assist and capture specimen 5. Subject K begs to go along, and against Xephos' wishes and through Rythians persuasion, she's granted leave under the exception that she wears a special system, in the form of a backpack that connects to her collar, since the system isnt designed to work outside the labs. I was planning some rather fun interactions between the 3 of them with Rythian taking a begrudging liking to K because of her resemblance to Zoeya.
Specimen 5
In an attempt to better understand Lalna, Lalnable creates his own version of Nano. However, since 5 is created from already corrupted material, 5s corruption spreads abnormally fast turning her into an abomination of tentacles and claws that spreads flux wherever she goes. Lalnable, although having developed feelings for 5, is a reckless coward who flees rather than facing his responsibilities. The magical corruption created by 5 gets the attention of Rythian, since due to his background, is rather sensitive to magic in the world. Due to this sensitivity however, he is unable to deal with the flux alone since it would very quickly corrupt him if infected.
Rythian Enderborn
After the events of Blackrock, a space fairing bounty hunter, Fiona crash lands at their castle. through helping repair her ship, Zoeya develops feelings for the bounty hunter. torn between Rythian and her new love, Rythian makes the difficult choice to encourage her to leave. Left with fishton and a painful goodbye, Rythian is once again alone. Living with the regret of loosing the girl he loved and never telling her the truth of how he feels, he shuts himself away, endlessly studying and taking up a deep interest in alchemy. While out on a material gathering trip, he comes across the huge amounts of flux quickly spreading through the lands and the horrifying creature causing it. with further investigation, he spots a fleeing Lalnable who he decides to trail all the way back to the labs. He confronts Lalnable on his recklessness before Xephos walks in on them, K in tow. after getting the whole story Xephos sees the opportunity to gain a magic expert and a monstrous weapon in one go and tells them to capture the creature, promising Lalnable they'll help Five any way they can. (a blatant lie) and in return for Yoglabs' resources, Rythian would help K with controlling her magic, Xephos hoping she'll make a more useful asset in the future. Rythian agrees to help, intending to sneak away once the flux is cleared. however, through traveling with subject K and Lalnable, he grows a fondness for K. she reminds him of Zoeya. When they finally confront Five, K freezes, terrified by the tentacles, reminding her of the night she lost her father. Rythian manages to get her out of harms way before working begrudgingly with Lalnable to secure Five. Back at the labs K is excited to have a new friend to show around. after a few days of working together, she decides they should take a break so K can show rythian her favourite part of the labs. She takes him to the botanical conservatory, excitedly showing him all the generating flora she's been working on in her spare time. Its a very sweet moment of downtime before the sprinkler system kicks in to water everything. Rythian's skin burns and blisters in the downpour and K panics to get him somewhere safe. This is when her healing magic manifests as she apologizes profusely, healing the burns, much to rythians surprise and awe. Rythian vaguely explains his enderborn origin, though not going into much detail about his past. After some reminiscing he mistakingly calls K zoeya, leading into a conversation about his relationship and regrets. K sympathises, but also tells rythian he should never have let her go. understandably, rythian becomes rather upset and leaves the labs later that night.
Dr. Riviera, Epsilon and Grimm
Sometime after rythian leaves, K is wandering the labs upset and mulling over her conversation with rythian, when she notices something watching her out the corner of her eye. She chases it, managing to corner the strange creature which huddles in the corner chewing on a book. K realises this is her Sketchbook and become extremely irate. Riviera comes across the two, attempting to diffuse the situation, slowly convincing Epsilon to part with the sketchbook in return for a bag of jellybeans. Riviera takes the two back to Bio-engineering, getting Epi to apologize, though her words are broken and childlike, explaining that Epsilon isnt supposed to leave this section of the labs and that if Xephos knew about her, Riviera would be in trouble. K finds herself unable to stay mad at the adorable creature and promises to keep her secret just as they realise Xephos standing in the doorway. Xephos lectures Riviera on his purpose in the labs, that he should be creating bio-weapons, not kids show mascots. he threatens Riviera with cutting his med supply, which Riviera sadly agrees to, promising he'll fix epsilon soon. K tries to ask Riv about the purpose of his meds and why he seems so scared of Xephos. She promises to come by again soon and bring epsilon some less sketchbooky snacks. When K returns a few days later Rivieras mannerisms are off and he seems strangely excited to show K his work on epsilon. Epi is completely unrecognizable, having been reworked into a monster, he mouth dripping with acidic poison. K is horrified by his inhumane treatment of the creature he showed so much care for, calling him a monster. Riviera seems to argue with himself about this before K flees in disgust and just generally being creeped out. Epsilon breaks out of containment, creeping into Ks quarters during the night. K manages to wake up and notice before Epsilon destroys her sketchbook snatching it away just in time. K is furious with her sketchbook almost being destroyed and what Epsilon has become. She kicks Epi out into the hallway against the wall when Riviera runs over blocking Ks way. She confronts him on how he could do this to herm getting very mixed and confusing responses. This is when she finds out about Grimm, who manifests threatening Riviera. Grimm essentially appears as a phantom of smoke escaping from Riviera's missing eye socket. imagine a Jekyll and Hyde kind of deal. Riviera gives in to Grimms threats promising to keep working on Epsilon. Riviera explains Grimm to K and apologizes for what he's done, telling her about the meds that keep Grimm in check. K promises she'll help him find another way and that Epi doesn't deserve this.
The True Nature of the Collar
K attempts to confront Xephos on the matter with Riviera and sees a side of xephos she never has before. he threatens her, telling her to know her place since she belongs to him. he reminds K that she's nothing without the labs and that everything she has was given to her by him. K, unable to stand against xephos attempts to flee the labs, but as she crosses the threshold of the main doors exit her collar overloads, electrocuting her and shorting out the labs systems. Xephos comes running and K expects the worst, but instead his mannerisms are forgiving and concerned. He reminds K that the collar is keeping her alive and cant work outside the labs. he apologizes for his previous comments, telling K he only wants to keep her safe. He sends her to the med bay to have her and her collar checked over for damages. (aka, turning up the amps to knock her out next time) As Xephos leaves, he muses over the power of the shock the collar delivers not being high enough to knock her unconscious, revealing the true nature of the collar; Keeping K bound and loyal.
Dr. Riviera, Epsilon and Grimm (.Cont)
K returns to Riviera explaining what happened, and Riviera reveals he's working to change epi back to her adorable self. K advises Riviera to appeal to Xephos' better nature, and Riviera explains the fate of his previous experiment, Delta. Delta was an extremely smart and powerful creation. essentially, similar to the endo rex from Jurassic world, but far more intelligent. Riviera reveals that Delta was created with a human brain, which although caused it to be intelligent, introduced issues of free will and was inevitably destroyed. Riviera was warned against using human brains to create creatures, but reveals that he broke this rule when creating epsilon. Epsilon, rather than being created to be a bio-weapon, was intended to be a secret project for Riviera to create a companion, purely for company. Were Xephos to find out about her origins, or Grimm to finish his work on her, both would be disastrous. Lalnable, being bored and poking his nose around find out about epsilon, and realises straight away she's far too intelligent not to have a human brain and uses this info to barter for info on the flux buddies. Naturally, Xephos is pretty pissed at this and confronts Riviera, telling him he was only hired because of Grimm. Epsilon manages to sneak away in the heated argument and seek aid from K, who confronts Xephos on what the labs stand for meanwhile Grimm sees an opportunity in Riviera's emotional state to attempt full control. in the struggle, Riviera manages to take the corrupted missing eye out of his pocket but cant bring himself to destroy it, so K does instead, destroying Grimm. Xephos' response is to fire Riviera before storming out of the bio-engineering lab.
Confrontation
K tails after Xephos, demanding explanation and telling xeph hes being unreasonable, and Xephs facade with her drops. he's cold and harsh to her, telling her she's nothing more than a means to an end. she looses her temper, but before she can loose control of her powers, Xephos activates her collar shocking her unconscious. She then awakes to find herself in a dark and unknown part of the labs with her collar hooked up to a bunch of glowing pipes and systems trailing off into the dark. (yall remember the flashback on page 15?) Unlike ridge she manages to overpower the system, partially because her body creates more energy than the system was built for originally but also because ridge never tried to break out of it for backstory reasons~ She finds her way into the deeper parts of site B, finding the original xephos hooked up to some kind of life support system. She's discovered by the imposter Xephos who reveals his plans for reviving a giant sentinel. (remember that hand in the sand?) After some big bad guy monologuing, Israphel/xephos reveals himself and his real reasoning for trying to remake ridgedog. They have an epic giant robot boss battle showdown, and K realizes that he's dependent on Xephos. She pulls Xephos from the system, but he wont wake up. She pours so much healing magic into him that she burns out her magic entirely and collapses just as he wakes up. She finally comes to in the med bay with xephos looking over her and they go over what happened.
Wrap Up
Essentially, this was the end of the first arc. I had some rough ideas for a Grimm focused spin off dealing with what happened to Epi and why Riviera is troubled by Grimm.
I also had plans for K going off to find Ridge to restore her magic and a whole story that involved Kirin too. But that was more self indulgent and a little more creatively licensed in terms of what the characters were like. This also included a scene with K standing between Ridge and Kirin mid fight which causes the giant scar on her back thats been shown in a few of my arts.
So that's kinda the whole deal. Lord knows i've probably missed a bunch of details and little things, but generally that's the whole story.it would've been cool to finish the whole thing but personal health and mental stability just didn't allow for it. That said, the story is still very much alive in my heart and I'm always happy to talk to people about the setting for behind closed doors. If anyone has any queries or questions about anything that I've missed or not covered properly, feel free to drop something in my ask box anytime :) Footnote: This ended up taking a lot longer that I intended since I've recently had a lot of mental health struggles so please be kind ;u;

BRO I didn't expect the Heehoo one to just launch me into a Zone aughghgh
Ples... I beg of more.... Maybe reader trying to escape but failing to?
Escape
Heehoo x GN!Reader, TW: yandere, possessiveness, imprisonment, hunting, dead animal (deer) Words: 868
Hehehehe~
It has been a few weeks since you were captured by Heehoo, claimed as his “mate”. He hasn’t made any advances on you, but he has gone above and beyond to try and care for you. Gradually, he has let the chain attached to your shackle get longer and longer, allowing you better range of motion around the cave. He notices which foods he forages that you prefer eating, even bringing back what you assume to be food he stole from camps. Otherwise, you have no idea how he foraged a partially eaten package of Oreos. Heehoo has also tried to show you how to help yourself, survive out here in the wilderness. It’s fascinating to see how close he is to average human intelligence, makes you wonder if he had been exposed to more human speech, if he would be able to integrate well.
He has gone out on another hunt after noticing your meat reserves are low. You try to entertain yourself with weaving, making baskets out of the tall grass of the nest to hold the various berries and nuts that he brings back. You shift, the rattle of the chain bringing your attention back to the shackle around your ankle. It looks older, clearly rusted from being weathered. You grab a nearby twig, sticking it in the hole and shimmying it inside the lock. After a bit of work, you hear a click, and the shackle comes open. You sit there, staring at it for a moment before getting up, rubbing your ankle. You look towards the entrance of the cave, calculating how long you have until he comes back. He’s an advanced hunter, and he knows these lands far better than you.
But you have to try.
Pacing your breathing, you move quickly out of the cave. Heading in whatever direction you can, hopefully towards civilization. Even just a camp would suffice. Once you have what feels like enough distance between you and the cave, you slow down, not wanting to waste your energy. Foolishly, you didn’t grab anything like provisions to help you survive if you’re on your own for a few days. Fuck. Hopefully you recognize anything that Heehoo has brought back for you.
A couple hours of wandering aimlessly leads you nowhere, but you hear a deep roar echo through the trees. Fuck. You kick into high gear, sprinting again as you look for any place to hide. No caves, burrows, or fallen logs stand out to you. Gotta keep moving then. Thundering footsteps and the sounds of trees falling terrify you as they get closer. You duck behind some rocks, hand over your mouth as you sob in fear. Your whole body is shaking, anticipating him finding you and smashing your skull against the very rocks you’re hiding behind.
You hear the telltale pattern of his run stop nearby, him growling as he starts looking around. He sniffs the air, probably following your scent. Oh you’re screwed if that’s the case. The twigs and leaves crunch under his weight, letting you hear how close he gets.
“Mate.”
You open your eyes to see him standing over you, glaring daggers. But he’s not baring his teeth or growling at you. If anything he seems annoyed at best. He stands there, as if expecting you to explain yourself.
“I-I need hu-umans. Ne-ew clothes-s.”
Heehoo looks at you, tilting his head as he squints.
“Heehoo fix. Mate stay.”
You’re surprised at how well he took that. You nod, not exactly sure what you agreed to.
“Chain bad. Mate stay. Bring hunt.”
“Y-Yeah, I’ll go hunting with you.”
Heehoo lets out a “hrrmmph” and picks you up, setting you on his back to hold onto him. You wrap your arms around his neck, and he takes off towards the cave again. Once you’re back, he places you back in the nest.
“No trust. Mate run. Bad.”
Despite his words, he smashes the shackle under the rock it was tied to. You spot the carcass of a deer over on a rock slab, most likely for him to cut apart so it can be cooked and dried.
“Heehoo fix. Mate stay.”
The reality of the situation sets in, he’s asking you to stay. Logically, you know there’s no way you’re making it out of here alive. Either he’ll bring you back or the wilderness will kill you. But he seems to want to make this more comfortable for you. Get you what you need.
“I’ll need a water source. To clean my clothes.”
“River near. Heehoo take.”
“And I need more things to do. Maybe I can build things, like a place for me.”
He nods, thinking. Heehoo leaves briefly, coming back with the assumedly fallen trees from when you escaped. He places them outside, stacked too tall for you to climb, but he can still make it out.
“I’m willing to make this work. But I’m not like you. I need human interaction.”
“Heehoo find. No worry.”
Unfortunately that makes you worry more but at least he’s receptive to it. You pick up your basket again, continuing on it as he breaks down the deer. You’ve gained more freedom, but at what cost.

Apocalypse AU. Right
Usually they’re in the middle of the ruins of one of the cities. So there’s like buildings and still some signs of civilization at least, and while it’s all dead and empty it’s still there. And they aren’t exactly sure whether that’s worse or better because it really is just a reminder of what was but it’s still there at least. They can still know it existed to begin with
But then like. Maybe one day they stray a bit far and end up at the edges of the bit of the city that got it the worst. And it’s just this flat expansive field of debris and mud and just. Nothing. Everything was just flattened by the bombs and anything living has long since died. There isn’t even any graffiti on any of the few, toppled over crumbling walls. Like it’s just this wasteland of civilization. And it’s all so colorless and dead. And dauntingly large.
And Cross and Killer just kinda. Stand on the edges. Staring out all everything. And of course they’ve seen places where it’s like this before, they’ve seen how dead the cities got. But for some reason this one part is just so vast and devastating. It hits them different
And so they just kinda stand there, looking out at it all. And it doesn’t exactly hit them right then, just then, per se, but it really just emphasizes to fact that everything is so unsalvageable here now.
They don’t even step forward to it. They don’t go looking for anything of value right away, like they would when they’re out scavenging like this. They linger. And they don’t say anything. They don’t look at each other. But they know. They know they’re both torn to fucking pieces. Their expressions don’t even change. They just stare. At where everything’s just gone
A whole good several miles of city. Whole buildings. Lives of people that once occupied that area before the bombs came. Lives of plants, of animals. Everything for almost as far as they could see. All because of those fucking bombs. And they’re remembered of that, too. That it was the bombs that did it.
And as they stand there they slowly interlock hands tightly
Anyway yeah I am. Unsure where this came from baha really just rambling here my bad heehoo

I'm really really normal about the barely post Civil War Louisiana bayou game that has a note about racism basically saying heehoo this magical calamity happened and now people don't care! and I do not have ANY strong feelings about it as someone who lives in Louisiana and has a special interest in history and politics and social dynamics!!!
anyway if you want to write a game without racism maybe don't set it in the Reconstruction-era Deep South???

I'm trying to beat Balatro in under 12 Antes.
The only thing stopping me is not being able to pull a needed hand I planned around.
I'm going to have to do a "throw trash" build. I stopped because I wanted to do planned runs like the chads, but I'll have to go back to my HeeHoo roots for this one.
I win ever game by cheesing. I should never abandon queso for "civilized" builds.

@acr3ss-the-cosmos asked: Sitting alone at one of the outdoor tables belonging to Sixth Street's Coffee Shop was a female fox Thiren with a cream and brown tail and hair, idly scrolling through her phone. She wouldn't start work for another hour, so she and her friend had decided to meet for coffee together in the morning before they both began their respective jobs for the day. If any passersby were to glance over at her, however, they would immediately notice that her uniform was reminiscent of a housemaid from the old civilization: a tell-tale sign that she was employed with Victoria Housekeeping. One of her fluffy ears swiveled as it picked up the sound of a familiar voice, and she perked her head up to see her friend, a small, pink-haired Draconid nearly the same height as herself, walking down the street towards her direction. She smiled widely as she put her phone away in her dress pocket. "Eros!" Chenhua waved over at him, tail swishing in happiness as she called out to the little dragon who had become like a brother to her. "Over here! I've already saved a table for us." ((heehoo here's zzz chenhua for u :3 ))
He'd been calling to Li'l Boo when his voice was heard, those amethyst eyes immediately locking onto Chenhua. The small fox Thiren had become so quickly like a sibling to him- and a best friend even more than that. Given his work- and how others tended to describe him as accident prone and reckless- Eros didn't have many of those outside of work.
The Draconid really couldn't stop his tail from wagging as he approached. Removing his hands from the pockets of his oversized jacket and running over to hug her. A soft laugh escaping him before he went to take his seat. Really, looking at him one would hardly believe he worked for a construction company. Yet the white outfit he wore accented with 'caution tape' and safety motifs were sure to give away his occupation as a member of Belobog Heavy Industries.
How the pair had become friends would stump anyone from the outside looking in. But really, Eros didn't seem to care that they were an odd pair. He just knew he adored the younger woman.
"Oh, y'er th' best~! Thanks f'er comin' t' see me b'fore we both have stuff on our plates." His voice came out a purr as he spoke, grinning from ear to ear already. "How've ya been, sugar~?"
we plotted this. a little. kinda.

wh-what is that one part of creating a champion
( in reference to this post )
If you’ve ever played Breath of the Wild, it’s very likely you’ve come across this chunk of dialogue from a Sheikah by the name of Cado in Kakariko Village:
“We of the Sheikah tribe have long been heralded as people of great wisdom. Our technology became the key to sealing Ganon away during the Great Calamity, some ten thousand years ago. At one point, our technology was praised as the power of the gods...but eventually the people turned on it. Turned on us. Our creations came to be viewed as a threat to the kingdom. The Sheikah became outcasts, forced into exile.”
Which is unsettling enough on its own - but on my first playthrough of the game, I was so enamored with absorbing anything and everything that I must have thought little of it at the time.  But then Creating a Champion came out, and things...quickly took a turn for the worse:
Ten thousand years ago, the kingdom of Hyrule reached an advanced level of civilization thanks in no small part to the technological prowess of the Sheikah. The Sheikah have worked from the shadows to support Hyrule's royal family since the era of myth, and their contributions have been significant. Their technology was key in helping the chosen hero and the princess seal Ganon away ten thousand years in the past and usher in an age of peace, but the king of Hyrule at the time began to fear and doubt the Sheikah. He became possessed by thoughts of imagined Sheikah betrayal. He issued an order to abolish technology and began to oppress the Sheikah. The Sheikah's laboratories were closed, research was prohibited, and data was destroyed.  Their best researchers were expelled from the kingdom and monitored.  Any Sheikah who dared oppose this order was met with severe punishment, including imprisonment.
This oppression led to dramatic changes within the Sheikah tribe and ultimately to a division into two main factions. The moderate group chose to live peacefully, accepting the restrictions placed on them out of respect for the long-standing ties to the royal family.  They built a hidden village, now known as Kakariko Village, and lived there in secret.
Those who violently rejected the king’s decree formed a militant group that specialized in assassination, the Sheikah’s original dark purpose.  In time, they came to follow Calamity Ganon.  They retreated to the remote Gerudo Province, outside of the kingdom of Hyrule’s reach, and later formed the Yiga Clan.
- Creating a Champion, pg. 368
The rising fear and exile of the Sheikah hadn’t arisen from “the people” - it was a horrendous act of oppression from the then King of Hyrule, against a people who had done nothing but serve and lend aid to his kingdom in living memory.  But what gets me the most is the language this book uses to describe this act of oppression; the Sheikah who submitted to the King’s will, after millennia of servitude, are the “moderate group” - whereas those who were rightfully furious with the King’s nonsense decrees are described as “violent.”  It almost reads as if this book was written in-universe by the royal family (or someone who wanted to make them look good), but as a piece of media that exists independently of this fictional universe that attempts to objectively explain events as they happened?  The Sheikah have served the royal family for all time, so the ones who continued to the do so are the Good Guys, and the Yiga (who definitely didn’t have a point, of course they didn’t, they’re Pure Evil and also foolish, heehoo look at them they LOVE bananas!) are the Bad Guys.  It’s all...extremely bad from both an in-universe and out-of-universe perspective.
And this all comes to a head with this, leading back into the post that I linked at the beginning of this wall of text.  We’ve all seen this tapestry from Breath of the Wild, depicting the events from 10,000 years ago:
Tumblr media
But I only very recently took notice to what’s going on at the very bottom:

As if hearing about the King’s acts of violence against the Sheikah wasn’t bad enough, we now get to see him weaponizing an entire army against them.  Or, as Polaris so eloquently put it: “Good, lord, what is HAPPENING down there?!”
And all of this just makes the rest of what Cado had to say that much more sinister:
“Some, like us, chose to cast off our technological advances and strove to live normal lives. Others fostered a hatred toward the kingdom that shunned them. These sad souls swore their allegiance to Ganon.”
The Sheikah are literally brainwashed into thinking mindless and eternal submission to a monarchy which has treated and continues to treat them like garbage is a good thing, and that those among them who rightfully fought against their exile are “sad souls.” But, yeah, the Sheikah of today totally aren’t oppressed in any way, right, Nintendo?  They willingly strove to live “normal lives”?  Geez.

Perhaps uhh Heehoo and y/n for the kiss prompt? In the rain owo
Rain battered your frigid skin, plastering your already soaked clothes to your violently shivering body.
Still, you continued on, stumbling over the rain-slicked rocks and into the trees, hoping-- no, not hoping, praying-- that this direction led you toward civilization.
You didn’t hear the calls until it was too late. And, even then, you didn’t have the energy to run; only managed a staggering jog as the manic cries of “Heehoo! Heehoo!” grew ever closer.
He caught you when you fell, converse sneakers slipping in a patch of mossy mud and sending you hard to the forest floor. He loomed over you, wearing naught but a pair of crew socks and a soaked, mud-covered pair of sneakers.
“Please-” you gasped, spinning, scrambling backwards through the mud and the leaves and the twigs. “Please-”
You didn’t know what lay at the end of that plea; please don’t kill me? Please don’t eat me?
You would never find out, because Heehoo bent, grabbed your hand, pulled you to your feet.
“Lost.” He grunted. Not so much a question as a statement of fact. His dark eyes bored into you, holding some expression you couldn’t decipher.
“Y-yes,” you managed to stammer out through the violent shivers racking your body.
Heehoo grunted again. He still hadn’t let go of your hand. You were about to pull it from his grasp when he raised it to his cracked, chapped lips, brushing a kiss across your knuckles.
“Heehoo help,” he told you. “Heehoo help.” He kissed your hand again, then turned, leading you away.

Steps Forward: Chapter 1
[ heehoo x reader ]
[ damien x reader ]
[ D.A Reader ]
Spoilers for Who Killed Markiplier, Unus Annus ( although, U.A is gone now, unfortunately. )
taglist: no one, currently. let me know if you’d like to be in the taglist! :)
----------------------------
The former district attorney sighed. Another long day of paperwork. They were an officer. An neighborhood officer. It wasn't too exciting, but enough to pay the bills.
It had been five years since they escaped from that bastard snake. The most exciting thing that happened on the job that day was reports of a breaking in. Of course, there wasn't much to find when they investigated the place.
Walking into their apartment, they hung up their coat and too of their shoes, stretching. It was time to relax. They immediately noticed something was off when they walked into their room.
There was a huge breathing pile of blankets in the far corner of their room.
"I know for certain that they don't allow pets here. Whoever you are, reveal yourself! I'm a police officer." Y/N demanded.
They pulled out the taser from their utility belt that they hadn't taken off yet. The said person snarled as Y/N pulled off the blanket, taser still in hand.
It was a nude man with wavy black hair and brown eyes. He looked oddly similar to..
 "..Damien?" The D.A whispered.
The man tilted his head in confusion.
"Ah.. nevermind. Just.. an old friend." Y/N mumbled. "What is your name? I'm Y/N. I'm not going to hurt you." They said.
"Heehoo." He said, though it sounded more like a grunt.
Putting their taser back into their belt, they crouched down to Heehoo’s level. He snarled, but Y/N put their hand in front of him as a sign of peace.
It was like taming a cat, almost.
“Like I said, I’m not going to hurt you, so you needn’t be afraid or threatened by me.” Y/N said.
Heehoo sniffed their hand cautiously before sitting up much more calmer.
“See? It’s alright. Do you have anywhere to go?” Y/N asked.
Heehoo tilted his head.
“Like.. somewhere to live?” They tried to explain.
Heehoo seemed to be feral, like a wild animal or a caveman. He didn’t seem to know how to say anything other than Heehoo and incoherent grunts.
Heehoo shook his head.
“..No, huh?” Y/N mumbled.
He seemed to be able to understand what they were saying and how to do small gestures, strangely.
“Y’know what? I’ll lend you a hand. I’ve been in that exact same position. Some people who you think you can trust.. aren’t always the nicest, I’ll tell you that. You can live here with me and I’ll help you become as civilized as I am. That way, you can get a home and job of your own.” Y/N said.
Heehoo’s eyes seemed to light up.
“First of all, though, we’re going to get you some clothes on. There’s no way in hell I’m having you live in my apartment with nothing on.” Y/N said sternly.
“Come on, boy.” Y/N said.
Heehoo followed after them.
Looking through their drawer and closet, they pulled out a pair of boxers, shorts, and a tan sweater.
“This should do it. Thanks to my guardians for the extra clothes, heh.” They laughed to themself.
“What do you think?” They asked.
He answered with a grunt of happiness.
“Alright, then.” Y/N smiled.
They helped him to put on the clothes.
“That’s much better. Now.. come up here on the bed. We need to lay out some things.” Y/N said, patting the soft sheets of the bed.
Heehoo jumped onto the bed like a cat. Y/N suppressed the urge to giggle.
“So! I’ll be teaching you how to act like a proper human, basically. I won’t be home all day for five out of the seven days though. I’ve still got my job as an officer, after all. My days as an attorney may be over, but I’ve still got to find some way to pay for the bills.” Y/N explained.
“I do expect you to be good though. Y’know, don’t wreck the place while I’m gone. Don’t hurt yourself or anyone else, either.” Y/N said.
Heehoo nodded in understanding.
“We’ll work on training. Luckily, today’s a Friday, so we’ve got the weekend to start off.” Y/N said.
Yawning, Y/N stretched. “We’ll work on that tomorrow, though. Where do you want to sleep, pal?”
Heehoo leapt off of the bed and snuggled up in the corner where they found him.
Y/N realized why he liked that corner so much. There was a heater there. It was March, after all. He had to have been freezing.
Funny.. Damien was always cold easy too.
Y/N mentally slapped themself.
Now isn’t the time to be thinking about that.
Really, when is the time to be thinking about him?
They knew that he was long gone, but they couldn’t help to think back.
To their university days, days spent in their flower fields, and..
that fateful night.
Luckily, Y/N wouldn’t have to ever look at Mark’s face again, but it still hurt.
They were snapped out of their thoughts when they heard snoring.
Heehoo was fast asleep.
Right, focus on the present.
..
Steps forward.

Do you consider hee hoo an ego? If so what do they think about him?
Every once in a while the Jims summon him like a cryptid, as is their way, but he inevitably escapes their control and goes feral. Wilford can appreciate his unbridled chaos and loves to join in his fun! Heehoo and the King of the Squirrels sometimes cross paths out in the wild and the King will try to coax him toward “civilized society” -- the squirrel nation -- but as we know, Heehoo thinks squirrels are out for his blood and can never bring himself to trust them.

HeeHoo HCs
Basically ferals are the giants that cannot talk, yet they still understand the emotions, feelings and what humans are saying, mostly. They are able to walk on fours, especially during hunting or observing the prey. They don't have manners in the sense that "civilized people" do, but they aren't part animal or anything. The most animalistic they ever are is when they get in Enraged/Feral Mode, which is when their eyes glow as they wreck havoc, , but that only happens in life or death/emotionally-heavy situations. Since I have explained the basics, let me show you some hc/ideas/plots I have for Feral!Mark or HeeHoo, whatever you want to call him, though it will be around the trope that (your/name) spends a lot of time in the woods. Either they explore it or just enjoys long walks.
=============
- At beggining he will watch y/n from far away, since, he knows very well that humans are capable of everything, but will not, be a danger to them.
- Later after noticing y/n from time to time in his territory, he will be curious about them, so he will start observing them hidden behind trees.
- When y/n will discover him, he will definitely show some fangs of his, but obviously not hurt them, more like "Okey, you saw me, and you better keep it as a secret or I will gobble you up".
- Y/N starts spending some time with him, analyzing him, just taking notes on his behaviour and befriending him. He will let them get close to certain distance and no more, or he will growl at them.
- Around a month or so, y/n  is able to walk under, around Mark, however  they can't still touch him, he is like "real" Mark towards Ethan with whole "Don't touch me" mood.
- Yet again some time has to pass, another month or more, to let the friendship between them grow, and so now y/n can pet him, and oh boi, he was just a touch starved, "little" cat. But often growls, as he is denying that he really loves it.
- Being so long in touch with him, makes him too cocky around y/n, which means he will nom them out of nowhere, because:
a) wants to protect his dear friend
b) doesn't want them to get cold
c) wants belly rubs and just something warm inside him
d) hugs from inside are the best kind of hugs
( Besides he uses the fact, that he has a storage stomach. ) - When something happens against his will or y/'n just don’t do what he wants to, he mumbles in deep voice as to mimic human grumpy talk. Sometimes if something doesn't go as he planned, he just throws little tantrums, thankfully he doesn’t hurt anyone during it. So yeah, he is just like a giant baby.
- He will even do something to impress y/n, like picking up the heaviest objects nearby him, trying to chew, rip with his teeth objects, he shouldn’t put in his mouth.
- He likes to eat salty treats left by people in the forest. Sometimes when he smells the scent of alcohol coming from a group of partying teenagers he scares them specially just to get access to the delicacies.
- In general, like most creatures, he can smell that someone is drunk. If he has one in front of him he becomes extremely cool, one can say that even dangerous. Fortunately, he does not cause harm to such a person, as only fear. He tries to banish such a person from his territory with his growling.
- He is incredibly strong, to the point that he can after minutes of trying and fighting change the shape of metal stuff, like bars, chains.
- During the winter, he doesn't hibernate like some ferals, but he does sleep a lot. He can even spend half of the day on sleeping.

Silly little Apocalypse AU Drabble thing cackles
This AU belongs to me and @denieatsart heehoo
“Y’know what’s fucked up?” Killer blurted one night, when everything was dark and quiet. He and Cross lay close, but facing away. Separate.
Everything was so silent without the hum of civilization.
Killer took Cross’s lack of response as a cue to continue.
“If those bombs hadn’t went off, I would never had even known you existed.”
Cross thought about this for a moment. He wasn’t wrong, if the world hadn’t been brought to ruin, they would never have met. They had lived practically entirely separate lives until then. In separate cities, with separate routines. Like they were in different worlds. But then buildings came crashing down and people reverted to savages, and somehow from that destruction whatever kind of relationship they had was made. Without that devastation Killer would never had strolled in on Cross’s camp that night. They wouldn’t be here together now. And Cross wouldn’t have anyone’s voice to disrupt the silent. He’d have to lay alone, haunted by silence and cold.
It was odd, how this of all things was what brought them together.
“It’s like… I’m glad the world’s ending. I mean, I’m not. God, I’m not. I wish everything was normal. Fine again. But if it hadn’t gone to shit like it did I wouldn’t have known you. And then I’d be alone.” Killer continued.
“It’s weird, how all this is the new normal. The fighting. The almost dying every night. And, fuck, do I miss the old normal. But..” He paused. Then sighed. “I dunno.”
He abruptly fell silent for an uncomfortable while, as if he was thinking over what he had just told Cross himself.
“I’m glad.” Cross murmured.
He heard Killer shift in his sleeping bag. He could hear the pulse of his soul, barely see the red glow of it out of the corners of his vision.
“That the world’s ending?” Killer asked.
“That we aren’t alone.”

I haven’t posted any of my Stardew art here yet cause so far it’s been heehoo Haley pretty (my first Farmer Magnolia is happily married to her rn <3)
But since these are NPCs, I figured why not? For those that haven't played the game, Dwarf is a little ... alien kinda creature that lives in the mines and adores gems, being the last of their kind. Krobus is a friendly shadow demon you can meet in the sewers and even become roommates with if you so wish. They interact during a 2 heart event where you learn that the shadow creatures killed most of the Dwarf population in a war. After fighting, the Wizard appears and they form a peace treaty. Sadly, there isn't much after that for them :c Soooo, HC time, hehe I'm always a sucker for well written 'natural enemies, unlikely friends' and this was no different - despite the treaty saying Dwarf wouldn't go to the sewers, they'd still encounter each other through the farmer from time to time, and started to be a little more civil. Krobus being a sweetheart actively attempts to befriend them, whilst Dwarf is still super suspicious and hoards their treasures. But bit by bit Krobus' cheery disposition melts their stubborn exterior and something akin to genuine friendship starts to develop.
Dwarf is canonically genderless, check the wiki if thou doubts Watch these two become my next obsession I am WARNING you. Krobus and Dwarf (c) Stardew Valley
