Office Design Ideas: 23 Most Beautiful Workspaces In The World
Exquisitely designed personal offices in the middle of nowhere, stunning warehouse conversions, and insanely creative IT giants’ headquarters – these beautiful workspaces around the world will make you want to get a job there right away.
Tumblr media
In today's professional world, the right workspace makes all the difference. Whether temples of Scandinavian minimalism or stylish environs deep rooted in the local culture, these establishments are designed to improve productivity and encourage creativity.
From Barcelona to New York to the open sea, here are 23 beautiful workspaces, quirky mobile workplaces, and striking co-working facilities to inspire your next office design:
Modern Coworking Space in Barcelona
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Created by Nook Architects – a boutique design studio based in Barcelona, Zamness is a light and modern shared office, ideal for both individuals and small companies who want their working environment to be functional and inspiring.
Situated in Poblenou’s 22@ district, this dynamic, light-filled space has a neat industrial design and comprises 2 workspaces, 2 meeting rooms, and various chill out areas. The beach is only 5 minutes walk away, and on-site facilities include Wi-Fi, lockers, shower/toilets, as well as a nice bar/kitchen area.

Barbarian Office, New York
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love unconventional workspaces, and this one, designed by Clive Wilkinson Architects for The Barbarian Group, is one of the most unique and creative I’ve ever seen. Plus, it reminds me a little bit of Metropol Parasol in Seville.
However, their new office in New York is an architectural tour de force, a large open space where everything revolves around an endless plywood table that snakes its way through the room, creating all sorts of meeting arrangements and storage opportunities below.
The goal was to create an environment that would resonate with their brand identity while fostering communication and collaboration among employees, and the result is more than amazing.
Food52 Office, New York City
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Famous cooking site Food52′s home in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City looks absolutely fabulous. The office is a warm and bright free-flowing space, where custom furnishings and IKEA goods stand side by side with flea market finds and local art.
Sustainable Sala Verde lighting fixtures, Waterworks Kitchen cabinetry, and sleek Electrolux appliances decorate the test kitchen, where all their immaculately presented dishes come to life. The meeting and conference rooms look like cozy living areas, and the entire space is bursting with character and personal touches.
Additionally, Food52 employees get their job done at big, stylish desks that encourage collaborative work, and cook their meals in a cool industrial-style kitchen, complete with white subway tiles and rustic shelves made from reclaimed wood.

Outdoor Mobile Workplace in the Dutch Countryside
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Setting up your office in the middle of nature can be a difficult task, but thanks to The Tipping Point Foundation, who invented the KantoorKaravaan, you can now work off-the-grid in the Dutch countryside.
Designed to accommodate up to 35 people, the second-hand trailers that make up the KantoorKaravaan come equipped with electricity, coffee machines, and Wi-Fi. The mobile workplace travels to various locations around the country, including parks and nature reserves, so make sure you check out their next destination.
Twitter Global HQ, San Francisco
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Occupying two floors of an iconic Art Deco building in Market Square, San Francisco, Twitter’s global headquarters has a cool nature theme, with lots of wood, tree branches emerging from the walls, and a huge roof terrace overlooking the city skyline.
Workspaces range from formal glass-enclosed conference rooms to quirky open office workstations, all filled with natural light and understated rustic elegance. Designed by IA Interior Architects in collaboration with Lundberg Design, the office includes a sprawling cafeteria with different themed food areas, a yoga studio, fitness room, and two game rooms.

A Writers’ Cottage in Oslo, Norway
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You should never underestimate the power of an inspiring workspace, especially when you are a professional writer.
Writers’ Cottage is a project designed by Jarmund/Vigsnæs AS Arkitekter MNAL and was intended to serve as both an alternative to a cottage in the countryside and a workspace for two Oslo-based writers.
A relaxation area and a cozy reading nook complement the creative interiors, which also include an ingenious stair that doubles as a bookshelf. Both the desk and the north facing façade are made entirely of glass, giving the illusion that the space is elevated above the surrounding landscape.

Haruki Murakami’s Personal Writing Space
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m a big fan of Haruki Murakami. I love the way he incorporates music and mystery in his novels, and I particularly enjoyed the Norwegian Wood and The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle. Now, however, we’re talking about where today’s most famous Japanese novelist works his magic.
Surprisingly, Murakami’s home-based desk is more normal than one would expect from a best-selling author and perennial Nobel Prize contender. It is a tiny, intimate, and honest space that speaks a lot about his habits and personality.
His writing desk is teeming with perfectly sharpened yellow pencils and souvenirs collected from his travels around the world, including a wooden foot with a spider from Laos, a Scandinavian marble stone with a wasp, and a coffee mug he bought during his trip to Switzerland. Also part of the décor are a couple of porcelain figures and a baseball figurine of Yasuhiro “Ryan” Ogawa, a young player from his home team.
The Fresh Exchange Office
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let’s take a peek into the home studio of designers Megan Gilger and her husband Mike from The Fresh Exchange. Helped by Arrowhead design / fabrication company and In Situ studio, the couple managed to create a light-filled, minimalist space where they feel relaxed and inspired, letting their creative ideas flow and flourish.
Featuring a long floating desk, natural open shelving, and smart lighting by SolaTubes, this workspace is Scandinavian simplicity at its best. Everything is exactly how it should be - white, clean, and functional, with embellishments and accessories kept to a minimum; just a cool ‘50s inspired couch and a nice Pottery Barn rug to break the monotony and add a personal touch.
Bright Scandinavian Workspace with Antique Desk
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Housed in a 73 sqm apartment in Gothenburg, Sweden, which I found via Alvhem Mäkleri och Interiör, this splendid Scandinavian workspace is refreshingly light and airy. Bleached floors and white walls create a sense of space and serenity, while the high ceilings, beautiful oversized windows, and period details add a sense of grandeur to the scene.
A refined mix of old and new, aesthetics, and functionality, the work area features an antique dark blue desk, a sleek industrial-inspired table lamp, and a modern designer office chair.
Cozy Wooden Studio in the Garden
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
An award-winning architectural project, the Hackney Shed is an ingenious garden office conceived by London-based design studio Office Sian.
The sustainable wooden structure - built to a limited budget and timescale - is situated in the Hackney area of London and features retractable oak framed doors that open onto the garden. The cozy workspace is lined with library bookshelves and lit with natural light coming through a hidden skylight.
Weebly’s Headquarters in San Francisco
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Designed by Huntsman Architectural Group, Weebly’s headquarters in San Francisco’s South Park neighborhood boasts a gym, a cocktail bar, and a soundproof jam room. The design, although sleek and contemporary, is still very much connected to the building’s history and its uses over the years. Inside, the variety of spaces and work settings is outstanding, from a dining area for 200 to stylish, glass-enclosed conference rooms, chic interview rooms, and fun sit-to-stand desks.
Other impressive features include a resident chef, DJ booth, gaming area, laundry facility, a nursing room for new mothers, and the so-called “secret room” – a speakeasy-inspired space decorated with antique leather furniture, velvet wallpaper, and exposed-filament lighting.

Google Tel Aviv Office
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Google has some the coolest workspaces around, and their stunningly designed office in Tel Aviv is no exception. Designed by award-winning studio Camenzind Evolution in collaboration with Setter Architects and Studio Yaron Tal, the 8,000 sqm space spreads over 8 floors of the Electra Tower in central Tel Aviv, offering spectacular city views.
Each level is individually styled, but all take inspiration from the vivid local culture. Interiors are decorated with orange trees and special features such as Lego and music rooms, a fully-equipped gym, or a wonderful rooftop deck overlooking the Mediterranean that keeps employees inspired, energized, and in love with their jobs.

Sailing Catamaran Turned Floating Coworking Space
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
People have different ideas of what makes a great workplace, especially freelancers who can get their job done from anywhere across the globe. However, I think everyone, not just digital nomads, will agree that working along a group of creative, like-minded individuals while sailing the open seas just can’t be beaten. Coboat, an 82 ft retrofitted sailing catamaran, combines sailing and working into one of the most amazing and stimulating coworking environments out there.
Equipped with solar panels, wind generator, and 24/7 internet connection, the mobile office provides comfortable shared accommodation, food, and flexible workspaces for 20 location-independent professionals at a time.
G Adventures’ Hip UK-Themed Office in London
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Designed by Area Sq, G Adventures’ new office in London, called The Summit, is packed with lovely features and UK-themed décor.
The kitchen gives the feeling of an English garden; meeting rooms take inspiration from James Bond and the British Royalty; and private calls are made from iconic London red phone boxes.
Custom made furnishings and quirky design elements such as thrones, furry baddie cats, and UK flag carpets decorate the playful workspace, creating a friendly, visually inspiring environment where the employees of this Canada-based adventure travel agency feel connected to the company and enjoy coming to work every day.
Google Amsterdam Offices
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Designed by studio D/DOCK, Google’s newly refurbished headquarters in Amsterdam pays homage to the garage where Larry Page and Sergey Brin founded the company in 1998.
Complete with meeting rooms, video booths, micro kitchens, and a 70-seat auditorium, the office is teeming with quirky design elements and amenities. The design features lots of exposed brick, cool graffiti walls, and ingenious light fixtures that resemble cardboard boxes, but it also incorporates plenty of traditionally Dutch details to give the space a cool local vibe.

Neat Office Space Accented with Messages and Marvel Comics
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Neat, stylish, and full of character. That’s how I would describe the headquarters of Dekoratio Branding & Design Studio in Budapest.
Created by local designer and visual artist Kiss Miklos, the 100 square meter office provides an inspiring and enjoyable atmosphere for its employees, while reflecting the company’s ethos through the interplay of innovative design, typography, and comics.
There are playful details at every turn, from the meeting table that resembles a big Pantone Palette to the colorful comic illustrations that adorn the crisp white walls to the strategically placed letter-shaped bookshelves that display cool inspirational messages such as “Believe in BETTER” - a sign which morphs into “Believe in Beer” once the door slides across it.
A Filmmaker’s Stimulating Cinematic Laboratory
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A project by Tom Kundig from Seattle-based studio Olson Kundig Architects, The Brain is a striking cinematic laboratory designed for a filmmaker. The 14,280 cubic-foot building is made of glass and cast-in-place concrete, and features interior structures crafted from hot-rolled steel sheets.
The studio, which works as both a playroom and an inspiring workspace, has a raw, industrial feel and is packed with quirky touches such as a fireman’s pole and a steel mezzanine that resembles a treehouse.

Blonde Robot’s Pub Inspired Office
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Blonde Robot, an Australian based importer and distributor of consumer electronics, commissioned Mr. Mitchell interior designers to create the perfect office for their business. Inspired by their clients’ fondness for beer establishments with a slightly industrial feel, they managed to deliver unique, characterful interiors, infused with recycled vintage furnishings and whimsical touches.
Once a cold industrial concrete space, Blonde Robot’s brand new headquarters looks more like a cool, relaxing pub than a commercial office. In addition to 13 chic workstations, the space features a boardroom, a lounge, and a laid-back bar area (staff kitchen), complete with beer tap, beer keg, and fridge. Other notable design elements include a pair of Art Deco doors, an array of industrial style lamps and pendants, as well as a spectacular graffiti mural by Melbourne artist Ki.
Stockholm Strip Club Turned Flexible Office Facility
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In search for a new studio and office facility for Studioverket, designers Toki Drobnjakovic and Per Sundberg (Per & Toki) acquired a former underground strip club and transformed it into an inspired, flexible coworking space called the Subterranean Concrete Orgy.
With the help of concrete producer Butong, they managed to create a space of “homogeneous diversity” by using a groundbreaking type of concrete sealed air bubble casting. The interiors are full of ingenuity and one-of-a-kind details such as concrete pendant lamps, a living wall where plants and herbs emerge from popped bubbles, a staircase made of hexagonal concrete leaves, and a fanciful sculpture of a girl that seems trapped in the wall, designed by movie producer Erik Liss.
Superette’s Headquarters in Takapuna
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With four retail stores and an online shop, Superette is one of the top style destinations in Australasia, and their office, housed in the city’s former post office, is no less fashionable and creative. Fun wallpapers and inspiring quotes adorn the walls, while a mix of soft, luxe materials and rough details add character to the bright spaces.
Photography by Larnie Nicolson
Presslabs’ Headquarters in Timisoara
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This nifty IT office is located inside an 18th-century heritage building in Timisoara, Romania and is teeming with fun, creative details.
Inspired by the staff’s hobbies, the two themed meeting spaces have been named the Snowboard Room and the Ski Room, while the Sailing Area – a space dedicated to temporary office desks – has a cool maritime motif.
Old Warehouse Converted Into Unique Collaborative Studio
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Housed in a former lima bean factory in Old Town Irvine, SND CYN Studios is a collaborative workspace shared by a variety of professionals, including artists, designers, and photographers.
A brainchild of Ty Mattson from California-based design firm Mattson Creative - which also has its headquarters here, the office is an inspiring, design-forward environment where creative professionals from different fields can interact and develop their work while soaking in the great artistic vibe.
Paying tribute to the original warehouse, the design is a clever, harmonious mix of vintage industrial and modern mid-century aesthetics with lots of authentic exposed beams. Unique artwork, lima bean-producing paraphernalia, and exquisite designer pieces are everywhere, and each space is brimming with character and individuality.

Where the Artists of Softheads Work Their Magic
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Located inside Palau Mercader, in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona, Softheads’ office is trendy, playful, and in line with the firm’s vision of taking taxidermy to a whole new, friendly level.
Resembling hunting trophies, their imaginative, textile-based objects are handmade and locally produced. Needless to say, their new office - conceived by local designer and founder of Colapso, Susana Piquer - is as ingenious as their original creations. It comprises a workshop area decorated with unique pieces by Softheads, an office, a showroom, and a relaxing meeting space furnished with sun loungers.
Even Astra, the creative director’s dog, has its own stylish wood house in this beautifully designed multi-use facility.

Please thumbs up and subscribe. I post new videos every week. Instagram 👉 https://www.instagram.com/robbkowalski/Week 1 of the Truth About Sex small group study. Why Waiting Works is more than a book. It's a movement of likeminded individuals who want more for and from relationships. The videos and discussion questions that accompany them were designed for a group of people to gather around its potent content with a plan to socialize, serve and connect. We believe that truth sticks best in a community. We need each other. You can't be the best version of yourself by yourself, especially should you decide to commit to finding love before sex. You'll need the support and encouragement of each other to help you navigate your way through, and that's what this small group study is all about. Right now we have small groups meeting in a few cities discussing my book, Why Waiting Works, and we are planning to start up to twenty more locations in January 2019. Ok, i’m up, showered, dressed, hair is done.  Heading out in a few to pick up a “happy belated birthday” card for City Dad, then heading to the apartment to go to dinner with CityDad and Debi.
.
I’m exhausted and in pain, but happy to be dining with the CityFam.  Tomorrow the water heater guys come back to install the drain hose under the house, and this week I also want to try and clear out the old super long dresser in KW’s room so it can go to the curb next bulk day.
.
When I get back home tonight I want to finish consolidating our shop listings- I’m about 1/3 through with the long-sleeve/hoodie/3/4 sleeve consolidation listings, all the graphics are done I just have to make the new listings and sync them up- so progress has been made.  in fact, the tee-shirt and tank top consolidations are all done for every design!
.
Which also means this week I might be able to sit down and work on the 4 NEW designs we came up with!
.
For now, one last pit stop, then off for card-buying and dinner having.

Most people that will tell you not to have sex until marriage probably haven’t had a lot of sex outside of marriage, and will give you some answer like “because it’s a sin” or “you are breaking a commandment” or something like that might not make a whole lot of sense to you. I on the other hand have had A LOT of sex outside of marriage and I’m here to explain to you very practically why you should wait to have sex until marriage, so practically in fact that you won’t even be able to dispute me because you’ll know that I’m right. Whether you choose to do it, well that’s up to you. I can’t do your push ups for you I can only show you the way. So let’s get started shall we?10: Sex masks problems: When you’re having sex in a relationship what’s the point in really evaluating it? Why would you? You’re giving each other what you need. You might wonder sometimes if you’re in love or if you could spend the rest of your life with this person but you never really forced to look deeply. However when you’re not having sex you are forced to really examine it. Let me give you an example. My last relationship I was having sex with my girlfriend and I wasn’t sure if we were really in love or “built to last” I think I said. So I cut it off in the middle of it. And guess what, all the real issues came right up to the surface. Because when you’re not having sex it’s like: “well I want to have sex again, and I know you want to have sex again, and if we’re REALLY in love, then let’s get married. But if we’re not, let’s stop wasting each other’s time” Because you could waste years of each other’s lives, just having sex.9: Marriage allows you to evaluate your real feelings: So you start talking about no sex before marriage and everyone freaks out because it sounds extreme. But if I were to say “no sex before love” that sounds more reasonable right? Something you can get your head around. Well the next question would be “how do you know if you’re in love?” My answer would be “you know if you’re in love because you’re willing to marry the person to have sex with them.” Because no one is going to marry someone just to sleep with them. There’s a verse in the bible that reads “ the heart is deceitful above all things” and it basically it tells us that our hearts will deceive us into believing something that’s not true so we give our flesh what it wants. Imagine you’re dating someone and you say to them “I’m in love with you let’s have sex.” And they say back to you “I love you too, but let’s get married first”, you would be like whoa, hold up let me think about this right? Because that’s a whole different conversation because we know marriage is hard to get out of. And that’s what the purpose of marriage was always for, to allow us to evaluate our real feelings to see if we were really in love so we didn’t get stuck with someone that we weren’t in love with.8 Sex connects us: Ok this one is simple biology. There’s a hormone released called oxytocin that makes women attach to men and makes men protective over women. Google it. If you connect to someone that you’re not in love with, don’t start complaining when shit’s start falling apart in your relationship because you never took the time to find out who that person really was you jumped into bed (and a relationship) really was. Plus having multiple sex partners increase your risk of divorce, again Google it. It’s like having a piece of duct tape, and you stick it to something, and then you pull it away, and then you stick it to something else, and you pull it away, and if you do this enough times, eventually it can’t stick to anything. Sex is our connection mechanism hardwired into us. The good news, if you’ve already had sex it’s not too late! This connection mechanism can be restored with time.7 Pregnancy: There’s always the chance you could make a baby when you have sex, and as I’ve already demonstrated, if you’re having sex outside of marriage there’s a pretty good chance it’s because at least one of you isn’t 100% sure they want to spend the rest of your life with that person. And if you make a baby with someone that you don’t plan to be with for the long haul there are only a few options and none of them are ideal. Abortion, adoption, single-parent home or loveless relationship.6 Everybody else is “doing it”: Here’s a few stats for you. The average American goes on 3 dates before having sex. The rate of divorce in the United States is around 50%. My question is, of the people that are still married, what % of them are happy? Because my guess is it’s pretty low. If I had to guess I would say it’s around 20% and I suspect it could be even lower. But if it was 20% that would mean your chances of getting married and being happy are 1 in 10! IF you do it the way everyone else is doing it, which is what? Dating basically out of physical attraction and hooking up with the person after 3 dates. How well can you possibly know someone after 3 dates?! And now you’re in something complicated and connected to someone that you really don’t know that well. And that’s how people end up divorced or unhappily married. Contrast his with the less than 1 in 10 divorce rate of couples that waited til marriage to have sex and it aint hard to see the right way to go about this. Is it hard? Yes. But isn’t everything that works hard? Instant gratification NEVER produces long term happiness. Not in one single thing. It produces instant happiness and there’s a price to be paid for it down the road.5 “That which we obtain too easily we esteem too lightly” Thomas paineThere’s a saying that goes “what we obtain too easily we esteem too lightly”, and it basically means that if something didn’t cost you something you don’t really appreciate it that much. I’ve personally been abstinent now for the last 5 years while letting God prepare my heart for my future wife. If I were to meet her tomorrow, I think it’s reasonable to assume that I would date her for at least a year before getting married. If I’m strong enough to make it to my wedding night, that will mean I will have been abstinent for 6 years by the time we get married and I have sex. If we get into an argument or disagreement, how quickly do you think I’ll walk away from that relationship knowing that it could be another 6 years before I find the next Mrs Right? Whatever it is, we will work that shit out! Now contrast that, how easy is it for someone that had sex with their partner after 3 dates to throw it away and start over with someone new when things go south?4 Transfer of control: Coming into a relationship the big thing that women have control over is when they have sex. 99 times out of 100 a woman is in control of that. But what often happens is that after sex, a woman will chase the man around for a relationship, the thing that he is in control of. Because when you boil it all the way down to the base, coming into a relationship, it was always supposed to be, a man was supposed to say to a woman, I will give you security (marriage), if you give me sex. So a woman that gives sex and doesn’t get commitment is just giving and not getting. And a man that is getting sex and doesn’t give commitment is just getting and not giving. This is why the world looks at a man that has sex with a lot of women as a stud, but a woman that has sex with a lot of men as a hoe. Not saying that one is less guilty of the other, but I did just prove my point.3 If they marry you they mean it: Look talk is cheap. Ladies listen, guys are good salesman, they can tell you they love you and they might even mean it when they say it, but if they will wait until your wedding night to have sex with you, they probably mean it. If they won’t marry then tell them get to steppin’. Think how fast you will be able to go through the numbers of all the jokers until you find your prince charming that really does mean it? Trust me, he will be a lot happier you didn’t sleep with all those guys along the way too.2 Physical attraction wears off: I’ve dated beautiful women in my life, and I found myself not even physically attracted to them anymore. I literally would lay next to them and would just rather have gone to sleep every night. There’s a saying that goes, “show me the hottest girl in the world and I’ll show you a guy that’s tired of sleeping with her.” While that saying is terrible there’s some truth to it. Because when you lead with physical attraction and then somehow find yourself in a relationship with that person, it’s like the trick the universe plays on you, now you’re not physically attracted to them anymore because you never connected on a deeper level.1 Better to have long term friends than short term sex partners: Me and a couple friends started an organization called cityfam, and one of the tag lines we like to use is “Friends with better benefits”. Because what we found was life gets good when you have great relationships with others, especially members of the opposite sex. So why burn a relationship by having sex with someone that could be a great lifelong friend unless you’re sure that that you want to go to that level with the person for the long term? If you do decide to get physical someone will catch feelings and when that physical relationship ends you will lose that person as a friend. So that’s it, those are my “10 REASONS NOT TO HAVE SEX BEFORE MARRIAGE.” Hopefully after reading this you understand better why it just makes sense to wait, and the real reason people don’t want to wait isn’t because they don’t believe IT’S right thing to do, it’s because it’s hard. But let me finish by saying this, EVERYTHING that works is hard. Squats are hard, dieting is hard, keeping your word is hard. And by no means am I preaching to you here. The only reason that I know the things I do is because I’ve done EVERYTHING wrong! But here’s the good news, if you’ve already had sex it’s not too late! All of this still works. I know from experience. Single. Sober. No sex. That's got all the makings for a depressing V-day right? Nope. Actually one of the best I've ever had. For Valentine's Day the last two years a small group of single men from CityFam made dinner for the single ladies on our leadership team. Here's what it taught me about getting what you want most in life.
