My Histology exam will be in two weeks and I’m panicking. So. Let’s take a big breath and organize (again) everything…
The exam is organized in three major parts: Citology, Histology and Embryology.
Citology
General
Hystological preparations
Mitosis, Meiosis and Apoptosis
Histology
Epithelium
Connective Tissue
Bone and Cartilage
Blood
Muscolar Tissue
Nervous Tissue
Embryology
First four weeks
Ectoderm
Mesoderm
Endoderm
I don’t know if I’m able to finish everything in time, but still I think I will go to the exam and try. For tonight study session I think I’m done.
✨Good study to everyone!!✨💕

É a espiralização cromossômica.

#vettech #veterinarian #veterinarianlife #likeforlikes #veterinario #pets #vet #pets #caniche #usaus #medvet #medveterinariabr #casosclinicos #caninos #cachorros #citology https://www.instagram.com/p/CRiAJD2JFPc/?utm_medium=tumblr

Hello guys! Happy easter!! This week fortunatelly was short. On tuesday we did a citology exam and we see different stages of the reproductive cycle of dog. The reproductive cycle of dog has four stages. The first image is from proestrus, in this stage males are attracted to non-receptive females and strogen levels begins to rise. Second image: Estrus. In this stage estrogen levels are high, mature eggs are released from ovaries, and the female become receptive to copulation 😱. Third image: Diestrus. Progesterone levels are high, the hormonal profile of a pregnant female and a female in diestrus are the same, sometimes a non-pregnant female will go through a period of pseudo-pregnancy and it’s not normal (specially on CATS! 🐈). The final stage and image is anestrus, during anestrus, females are not sexually active. On thurday we had a power cut and I had to study with candles, it was cool! I felt like an student of the XVIII century 😅 was fun... That's all, have a nice day and... HAPPY EASTER!!! 🐇

My exam is getting closer by every day, even if I should relax and enjoy these winter holidays I’m just too anxious about it to rest.
I’m submerged by hystology slides and I almost had a breakdown while studying the third and fourth weeks of embryogenesis… hopefully I’ll make it.
Here some slides of cartilage and bone I’ve revised this morning.
I’m quite proud of the work I’ve some these days, but I still have to finish some topics:
Epithelium
Nervous tissue
Citology
Embryology
My goal is to finish them in these days so that I will have some spare time to revise everything in depth before the exam.
✨A good organization is the key to success✨

When did you know you wanted to work in the healthcare field?
Story time:
When I finished high school, all I knew was that I wanted to work in a lab on life sciences.
In Portugal, to apply to public colleges, you do it online on a platform where you choose 6 options of college+course, then the system distributes the students based on the grade they apply with.
I ended up on my 5th option, that was "Clinical Analysis and Public Health", and, although I was upset, I decided to give it a try and I ended up falling in love with it. I started loving it even more when there was fusion between my course and "Pathologic, Citologic and Tanathologic Anatomy" (or something like that 😂 idk if that's the correct translation) that formed my bachelor: "Biomedical Laboratory Science".
There were so many interesting areas to explore inside it and I liked my internships so much that I concluded that was really what I wanted to do. It's an area where I can help people and their doctors without needing to be in direct contact with them (except when it comes to sample collection), and it's so important that, without it, for example, people would never know they are infected with the SARS-CoV-2.
