Rarely do I so unconditionally recommend something, so, let me say, to all my followers, I STRONGLY recommend you go play Citizen Sleeper. It is a text based video game, but honestly plays far more like an interactive novel than anything else. It's 20 bucks on steam. It's a tiny indie team. Your computer almost certainly can run it. You don't need any skills or talents to play it. In it you are playing a sleeper, an emulated mind in a robotic, humanoid body, on the run from the corporation that built you. Your flight has taken you to the Eye, a ruined space station abandoned some twenty plus years ago by a mining corporation, and currently inhabited by the descendants of the mining union, refugees, criminals, and the desperate. But honestly, it's mostly about us. It's about what it means to be alive now, in failing system, and how to live with percarity. It is one of the most human stories I have ever read, and one of the very, very few things that manages to cut through and calm my constant anxieties about the climate, about mortality, and the future. But, if you need more reason to play it, you should play it if you're into robots, into space, into synth music, into unions, into mushrooms, into salvage, into cyberpunk, and so so many other things. Go play it, I need to talk about it with people. It has a sequel coming out in less than a month. Do it.
