WHEN: We're currently holding the Trivia Night on the 3rd of February in 2 slots:
Slot 1: 12:00 pm EST/5:00 pm GMT on Saturday, 3rd February Slot 2: 9:00/10:00 pm EST on Saturday, 3rd February / 2:00/3:00 am GMT on Sunday, 4th February (Note: The 2nd slot may be movable depending on participant requirement and availability.)
WHERE: On the Merlin Cinema discord server! You can join the server here (irrespective of whether you're a participant or not): https://discord.com/invite/udq9EzwX6m
SIGN-UPS AND PLAYER REQUIREMENT: There are no sign-ups required! If you want to join us for Trivia Night, all you have to do is join the server and BE THERE on the 3rd of Feb during any of the given slots at your convenience and inform us that you want to play. If you're there to spectate, we welcome you and hope you have an amazing time! Spectators can join us in the #spectate-and-speculations channel. Our only requirement is that you MUST be 18+ years of age as this fest and the server as 18+ spaces.
THEME: English-language Movies
GAMEPLAY: Participants will be divided into 2 teams (Red and Blue) on the day itself. They will also be given individual team spaces to discuss along with a spectator channel with all the other spectators to chat and speculate. Trivia questions will be asked in the #trivia-night channel on discord, after which a 30-second timer will run, during which players will be given a chance to discuss as a team in their allocated thread. Teams may answer only after the timer has ended. Whichever team answers first and correctly wins a point. In case of a wrong answer, the other team gets a chance. If none of the teams answer correctly, the question goes to the audience and no points are allocated. The team which has scored the most points by the end of the game wins. Googling answers, asking the audience or other participants not a part of your team, is prohibited.
POINTS ALLOTMENT: There are 20 questions per time-slot divided into easy, moderate, and hard difficulty levels. The points will be allotted respectively: Easy: 1 point for each easy question answered Moderate: 2 points for each moderate difficulty question answered Hard: 3 points for each hard question answered
PRIZES FOR ALL! 🥳: The team that gets the most points will be declared as Winner and the other team will be declared as Runner-Up. However, everyone’s a winner here as all participants will receive badges from us!

This year marks the 50th anniversary of a truly legendary comedy film: Young Frankenstein. Originally conceived by its star, Gene Wilder, the movie was co-written and directed by Wilder's frequent collaborator, Mel Brooks. In talking about how the movie came to fruition, Brooks told us that he and Wilder didn't always see eye to eye. Although they agreed upon the basic concept of the film, Brooks admitted he almost killed one of the film's most iconic scenes before it was even shot.
Young Frankenstein is available on DVD, Blu-Ray, and most digital platforms.

Trivia about Dr. Mabuse, der Spieler - BOTH Norbert Jacques' novel and Fritz Lang and Thea von Harbou's epic two-part film adaptation (Part I: The Great Gambler & Part II: Inferno) was a huge success. The novel and the film had a strong marketing campaign by the Berliner Illustrirte Zeitung.
Dr. Mabuse was also highly influential in the crime and spy thriller genre, including Lang and von Harbou's 1928 film, Spione. Actor Rudolf Klein-Rogge, who garnered fame as the nefarious criminal mastermind, Dr. Mabuse, portrayed the Mabuse-like Haghi in Spione.
