This Lamb woman's powers of manipulation are almost scary… her people are using the girls from the surface to gather ADAM from Lamb's followers… it's in the blood -- and eventually they give themselves over, like dying is an honor. I'd almost feel sorry for them… if they didn't have my daughter. I'm going to find Lamb… and take Cindy back, one way or another.

A New Thing
The engine still dripped, stinking of sea and weathered steel. Its face shone with condensation, and steam straggled beneath its pointed snout.
Sinclair stepped out of the darkness. The first thing that struck Meltzer was that he was absurdly clean. His dress shirt was almost perfectly white but for some discoloration around the throat and armpits; it had clearly been ironed, as had the slacks. No patches, the stains few, and the man was smoking in a cigarette holder. The hair was black, slicked back, streaked with silver at the temples, and reading glasses hung 'round his throat. A pistol was tucked under his arms; ammo pouches hung on his belt. But for the pistol and pouches, he could have stepped straight out of a meeting.
“Meltzer! Chief!” Sinclair grinned at them, waving. “About time we met, eh?”
Meltzer sagged with relief. “Oh, thank god.”
Beside him, Delta scraped to a halt. At first, Meltzer thought nothing of it. Then Sinclair’s smile fell. A weird light illuminated his face.
“So there you are, Sinclair,” a young woman said.
Meltzer halted.
“Do you remember Sinclair, Father?” the young woman asked. Her voice was weirdly monotone, a British accent, and seemed to rise up out of the air around them—not loud, just omnipresent.
Meltzer whirled.
Delta swayed behind him, the light in his helmet weirdly dull and coppery. A corona shivered like a living fog around his helmet, gold and glittering.
The girl’s voice drove on.
“Do you know why he wants to leave, Father?”
Sinclair raised his hands in supplication. “Now hold on there, Eleanor. You know it was nothing personal.”
“Yes,” Eleanor whispered.
She wasn’t talking to them. Delta had turned toward Sinclair. Steam puffed up from his sleeves. He raised his drill and pointed.
“HOOO,” he said.
Meltzer flung himself in front of Delta, arms out.
“Whoah there!” he said. “Whoah there, Delta.”
Sinclair backed away, whipping out his pistol. He’d made it halfway to the train when Delta’s porthole flashed—the corona flashed a fraction of a second later—and Sinclair jerked—a full-body twitch—and toppled over backwards with a nasty thud.
“Sinclair!” Meltzer rushed to Sinclair’s side.
Delta grumbled and lifted to his full height, shaking out his arms. The corona dissipated, leaving only the faintest bubble of gold.
“Are you all right?” Meltzer panted, lifting Sinclair to a seated position.
Sinclair sucked for breath; his eyes were huge. He said nothing. He clawed himself upright using Meltzer’s arm and shoulder, whipping his eyes up to Delta.
“Subject Delta,” said Sinclair, leaning on Meltzer. “I’ve tried to put you out of my head for 14 goddamn years. Now you’d better stay out or I will absolutely refuse to take you to the promised land, you understand?”
“Pardon me?” Meltzer asked.
“It’s a long story,” said Sinclair. “And unnecessary. Look, Delta.” Sinclair stepped away from Meltzer, eyes dark. “You will not harm me or this deal is off. That includes going inside my head without permission. Do you understand?”
Delta swayed. The light in his helmet glowed a little brighter; the corona faded a little.
“Father and I are a new thing,” said Eleanor, her voice faint. She sounded resigned, faded. “He draws on me. I draw on him. We can’t control it yet.” Her voice grew frigid. “Maybe we could if someone hadn’t broken him.”
Sinclair threw his hands up. “Look, honey, it wasn’t anything personal. All I did was pay the bills.”
“Liar,” Eleanor said, grim but triumphant. “Do you know who you’re traveling with, Mark Meltzer?”
“I don’t know that I have a choice,” Meltzer said. His right hand twitched as though to grab his pistol, but he released his hand and dropped it at his side. “All I care about is getting Cindy out of this place.”
“Who is Cindy?” she asked.
“My daughter,” he said softly. “Blonde hair. Has my eyes and nose. Her mother’s ears and cheeks. Eight years old now.”
“Oh,” said the girl. “I know her.”
His mouth fell open. “You… where is she?”
“You can’t have her,” said the girl matter-of-factly. “She’s making ADAM.”
“What the hell is wrong with you?” Meltzer launched at Delta and lurched up on his tip-toes. “She’s my daughter! She’s my baby! My everything! You can’t have her! Where is she? Tell me!”
He slammed his pointing finger up on Delta’s gut. His voice broke.
No one replied. Delta slowly turned to regard him. The corona brightened briefly. Something must have been happening, but it was all internal; Delta swayed on his feet and purred, wrists twitching. Steam rolled up from the suit in curling waves. Meltzer could feel something stirring deep beneath the leather.
Then the heat and corona faded. All that was left was Delta’s burning viewplate, a weird greenish-gold that itself burnt into yellow.
Delta shouldered his rivet gun and marched into the train car. He stepped up on the stairs and the whole car leaned down toward him with a groan. He leaned in sideways, squatted, slipped inside. The door slid shut. A heavy groan, and the car slowly rocked upright.
A hand fell on Meltzer’s shoulder. Meltzer jumped.
It was Sinclair.
“Son,” Sinclair said in a thick voice, “you are a brave man, but I must recommend you don’t go charging Big Daddies.” He patted his shoulder, eyes rising to the car. “Let’s go to the engine. Nothing we do will be private now, but we can hope Eleanor will keep herself caged.”
“You’ve got to explain yourself,” Meltzer said as Sinclair ambled away.
“Oh, I will, just not here,” said Sinclair. “Come on. All of this is complicated.”

bestie, if you are willing: may i request Sinclair x Delta x Mark with the "in a rush of adrenaline"
>:3
Oh, I have the perfect idea for this.
=============================================
They had finally escaped.
Mark could hardly believe it as the bathysphere began to move away from the crumbling city of Rapture.
They were out. They were finally out.
He began to laugh, the sound high and manic, filled with disbelief and relief.
"You alright there, sport?" Sinclair asked, wincing a bit as he leaned back against the bathysphere wall. Delta made a concerned noise, placing a hand on Sinclair's shoulder. He'd removed his helmet for the moment because one of the Little Sisters had wanted to wear it.
"Don't worry, chief. I'm just a little sore," Sinclair assured him quietly.
"I'm more than alright!" Mark declared, turning away from the porthole. "We're out! We made it!"
"We did," Eleanor agreed, giving a weary smile from where she sat with the collection of rescued Little Sisters.
Mark laughed again, almost unable to believe their luck. The adrenaline of their escape hadn't yet worn off, which might have been why he did what he did.
Still riding the high of their success, he grabbed Delta and Sinclair, dragging their faces close to his.
"Sport, what are you-?" Sinclair began, only to be cut off as Mark slammed his lips into Sinclair's before turning and doing the same to Delta.
Upon doing this, he let go of them and turned away, continuing to laugh and declare that they had escaped. Delta and Sinclair were both left stunned, staring straight ahead with wide eyes as they tried to process what had just happened.
"Mr. Meltzer!" Eleanor exclaimed, jumping to her feet.
"What?" Mark turned her to her, seemingly unaware of the implications of what he'd done.
"That was highly inappropriate, Mr. Meltzer," Eleanor said, folding her arms. "And in front of your daughter, too."
"You're in trouble~" One of the Little Sisters whispered.
"In front of my..." Mark began, frowning slightly. This frown soon gave way to an expression of shock and horror, though, as he finally processed what he'd done.
"I mean, I certainly didn't mind it," Sinclair spoke up, managing a smile. "However, I'd appreciate it if you'd ask next time instead of springing it on me like that."
Delta nodded slowly, pointing to Sinclair and giving a thumbs up as if to say that he agreed with what Sinclair had just said.
"I'm so sorry," Mark said, his face going bright red as he put his hands up in a gesture of surrender. "I didn't mean to..." He trailed off, very much wishing a hole would open up and swallow him.
He wasn't upset that he'd kissed Sinclair and Delta. They were both very fine men. Delta had such a big heart, and Mark would be lying if he said his heart didn't melt a little every time he watched Delta interact with the Little Sisters. And Sinclair was incredibly charming and, although he knew the other man would deny it, he felt Sinclair had a good heart as well. Sinclair and Delta were both incredible people. No, what upset Mark about the situation was that he'd kissed them without asking.
"It's alright," Sinclair assured him. "Like I said, I didn't mind."
Delta nodded in agreement.
"You're... sure it's alright?" Eleanor asked, watching Mark warily.
Delta nodded again, giving her a thumbs up. Still, he collected his helmet from the Little Sister who'd been playing with it, and put it back on before settling back beside Sinclair.
"It... really is alright?" Mark asked.
"It's alright," Sinclair confirmed. "Although, I would've thought a handsome young man like yourself could do better than an old fart like myself."
Delta made a noise that might have been a chastisement, shaking his head.
"Don't sell yourself short," Mark said, echoing Delta's chastising tone. "You're a fine man. You're both very fine men."
Delta nodded, giving an affirmative groan.
Sinclair chuckled. "You're not so bad yourself, sport."
"Daddy, are you going to marry them?" Cindy suddenly asked.
"Cindy!" Mark sputtered, his face going bright red again.
"You said you and Mommy split up, so are you gonna marry them?" Cindy pointed at Sinclair and Delta.
"I think it's a bit soon for plans like that, sweetpea," Sinclair said with a weak laugh. "We haven't known your daddy all that long."
"Okay." Cindy nodded.
"I'm going to sleep," Mark announced, going to the other side of the bathysphere to lie down. The adrenaline was starting to wear off and he was realizing he was way too tired to have this conversation.
"We'll wake you up when we see land," Eleanor said.
"Or a boat," Sinclair added. "Or anything really."
"Sounds good," Mark mumbled, his eyes already beginning to droop shut.
He had a feeling he wasn't about to live that kiss thing down any time soon.
And strangely, he didn't really mind.

The Lutece Machine AU [part 2] Mark Meltzer’s POV
So due to time in Rapture now being screwy, and something that can be bought and sold to some degree (see part 1 of this AU). A lot of events are jumbled due to the strange double timeline happening.
The case that draws Mark Meltzer (from topside 1990) to Rapture isn’t a clearly a series of kidnappings by a single entity. Considering they’re spread across more than a decade, and around the entire Northern Atlantic. The first handful of kidnappings done by the Big Sister are already considered cold cases by the time Mark starts poking around.
And when Mark finally does find Rapture it’s not just a trip under the ocean for him, it’s a trip through time as far as he can tell. Sure 99% of “people” he’s encountered are insane and ghoulishly mutated, but they’re all also dressed in styles and have mannerisms from different decades.
Clothing and hair styles seem to span from the 50s all the way back to the 20s, and maybe even earlier from what he can tell. Some of them are using slang Mark’s only ever heard his parents’ or grandparents’ generations use.
Seeing all the needles, both used and full of drugs, just laying around freaks him out because the US War on Drugs has been going on for 2 decades as far as he’s concerned.
All the tvs are in black and white, people are talking like it’s anywhere from 20 to 40 years ago (or more), Little Girls are chugging baby bottles full of blood while being protected by 7ft tall golems in antique diving suits, and Mark got into a shouting match with one of the Splicers about how many states there are in the US.
Mark doesn’t know if he fell down a rabbit hole or if he’s been drugged out of his mind in an asylum, he just wants to get Cindy and go the fuck home right now.
#bioshock au The Lutece Machine#bioshock 2#bioshock there's something in the sea#but like seriously pray for Mark Meltzer in this AU because he doesn't have the faintest idea about what the hell is going on#bioshock au

SHE NEVER GOT HIS GIFT 😭💔!!!!!
Also I left the rose there. Wasn’t mine to take.
It’s a little early to tell but so far I like Stanley Poole. He radiates this anxious energy I relate to.
His audio tape where he said, “I keep thinking of Johnny Topside, though. Took real guts to find Rapture like he did . . . makes it easier not to crack if I sort of . . . imagine that I’m him.”
Had me like: https://youtu.be/M2rnO9ns4Zc
Also I’m so invested in Mark Meltzer reuniting with his daughter Cindy o(TヘTo)♡!!! Please let me at-least save Cindy I’m begging!!!!
Live-blogging my Bioshock 2 experience.
I GET TO PLAY AS A BIG DADDY IN BIOSHOCK 2?!!
I LOVE IT ♥︎(⸝⸝⸝ᵒ̴̶̷ ꇴ ᵒ̴̶̷⸝⸝⸝)!!! THIS IS SO COOL!!!!
( ⚆_⚆) That scene where the Big Daddy was forced to shoot himself while the Little Sister was being taken away AHHHHHHHHH 💔💔💔!!!!
Makes me feel guilty for hypnotizing the Big Daddy in the first Bioshock ( o̴̶̷̥᷅ _ o̴̶̷̥᷅ )!!!
(ง •̀_•́)ง When I find that Lady IT’S ON SIGHT!!!!

I’ve done everything possible for Cindy, Mark. I hope you’re smiling down on us both.
She is a remarkable young lady and is well taken care of now alongside Miss Tenenbaum and Eleanor.
You are greatly missed.

I found one of those children at last. Filthy dress, all alone. I approached her... praying that it was my little girl. But she was... gorging herself on blood from a corpse. It wasn't her. I stared, just, just reeling, and then that skinny... armored freak that took Cindy jumped me, shrieking like an animal! I escaped but... could Cindy have become one of those... things? I've got to find her, now more than ever.

Bioshock 2 Meltzer Lives AU
It’s not an AU with a complicated set up. Basically Delta manages to bust through the door that keeps us from reaching Mark Meltzer in Dionysus Park while he’s getting attacked by the Big Sister.
Is Mark terrified of Delta busting his way through a door he thought was locked and fighting the Big Sister? Yes absolutely.
Does Delta manage to save both Mark and Cindy right then? No. The Big Sister gets away with Cindy, but Mark survives.
Is Mark enthusiastic about the idea of getting help from Delta (the only apparent sentient monster in Rapture) and Sinclair (a Rapture native who’s past dealings had a hand in the current circumstances)? No, not really. Especially when Delta insists on herding him back to the train car, and insisting he remain there with Sinclair.
I mean, he’s glad that he finally has some type of help in looking for Cindy. And he’s ecstatic when he watches Delta cure a Little Sister through his camera feed. But he’d really prefer actively looking for Cindy himself, rather than sit in a train car and hope she’ll be fine and that Delta will find her.
When Delta does find Cindy he’s overjoyed. Mildly jealous that Cindy thinks Delta is her father, but overjoyed that Delta has found her and he’ll cure her soon.
I also don’t think Sinclair would die in this AU. I think Mark would either try and help him attempt to rescue Delta and the two of them working together would somehow manage to not get caught [Mark managed to traverse a rather impressive amount of ground in Rapture without splicing once, as an outsider with no idea what was going on, and without getting injured until he tried to go toe to toe with a Big Sister. I think he’d manage to keep Sinclair alive]. Or that he would try to stop Sinclair from making the attempt and would manage to delay him long enough that Eleanor would free and rescue Delta.

(Accidental) Adoption Blues
Found Family, Adopted Sibling Relationship, Implied/Referenced Child Abuse, Emotional Baggage, Father-Daughter Relationship
Mark Meltzer has a hard time saying no to strays.
-OR-
AU where Mark Meltzer never actually arrives in Rapture and Cindy is returned by a stranger who won't take a hint.
She’s watching him.
Even though Mark knows his way around the house by heart, can maneuver between every knothole in the wood and creaky spot on the planks when he opens Cindy’s bedroom door and sidles in while she's watching him, heart-shaped face expressionless save the two eyes boring holes in his skin.

MSA-Bioshock AU
OH MAN
Scenario 1: loosely based on the plot of the first game; Lewis is Jack, Vivi is Tenenbaum, Arthur is Atlas, ??? is Fontaine, Shiromori is Andrew Ryan (don’t ask how that works with the big reveal), and Belle, Cayenne, and Paprika are each Little Sisters who Lewis rescues through the course of the game. Alternately: Shiromori is Sander Cohen and an unknown party is Andrew Ryan. I’m unfortunately not sure who Mystery would be in this scenario :(
In this case, Arthur is a real person who has had his identity co-opted by ??? via use of a mind-control plasmid and the player would be given the choice of rescuing him or not after his ‘betrayal’
If Shiro is Andrew Ryan, instead of killing all the trees in Arcadia she uses a plasmid of her own devising to slowly turn them carnivorous; instead of reversing it before you run out of oxygen you have to reverse it before the place becomes an utterly inescapable deathtrap
Scenario 2: loosely based on the plot of the second game; Mystery is Delta, Vivi is Eleanor, and Shiromori is Sofia Lamb. Duet is Tenenbaum? I’m less sure of roles for this one-- Arthur is possibly in a Sinclair like role, but I don’t think Sinclair’s history would work for him.
Lewis is Mark Meltzer and Paprika is Cindy
