The thought of Salem cutting Cinder's hair when shes a teen as a way to control her and it backfiring bc Cinder uses it to explore her gender and sexuality is hilarious to me

I've always had the headcanon(projection more like) that Cinder doesnt really care about her gender, like sure she thinks of herself as a woman but she will absolutely make herself as masc as possible for no reason other than she just feels like it. And Salem allows it bc its the one thing Cinder will always fight her on.

And while on a mission she infiltrates Jacques Schnee's ball in a fancy suit and tie and catches the eye of the man himself, who is looking for a male heir to a rich company to be a suitor for his first daughter, and Cinder looks exactly the part.

Yes I agree, fuck gender but Cinder is also very gender y'know. Gender is a very, eh, vague concept and although Cinder personally identifies herself as a woman, I feel like she wouldn't really care what anyone considers her as because gender is overrated and she has better things to be doing than concerning herself with what people think of her gender and her presentation. Dresses, suits, booty shorts and baggy shirts, she'll wear em all. And I love that for her.

As for the Gala, I haven't yet decided why Cinder would be there in the first place, maybe with the intent to get in good with Jacques to have access to his Dust supply. Perhaps Cinder has learned through Salem's sources what kind of man Jacques is and figures it would elevate her chances if she made him think she's a guy, and so she does her makeup and dresses in a typically masculine way and takes an airship to Atlas. And maybe, after arriving and getting in with Jacques' business partners, he quickly comes to favor Cinder and decides to set "him" up with Winter in hopes that "he" manages to convince her to not attend Atlas Academy and stay with the family.

May or may not change some stuff up or add stuff once I actually have motivation to write but mm. Thanks for adding to the brainrot though 👁️👄👁️

I imagine it would go something like this:

Iko, pointing enthusiastically at some pictures in a hologram: so basically they weren't considered a "formal" couple by the media, but she still was the first girl Kai danced with during the 122nd Annual Ball! I also have a theory that suggests-

Kai, entering the room: hey Cinder do you-

Cinder: 👁️👄👁️

Iko: 🧍‍♀️

Kai: ...what's going on here?

Cinder: i...

Iko: oh, i did some research about your ex-girlfriends and was showing my findings on the matter to Cinder. Hope you don't mind :)

Kai, slightly blushing: wha- can i ask why?

Cinder: i... was curious?

Iko: yeah she was! So she came to me to ask for my services. You may know i am an expert when it comes to gossip and celebrities, so naturally i was the android required for this investigation.

Cinder, visibly mortified: Kai, i'm sorry, i can expla-

Kai: wait, is that a picture of me during the ball of 122?

Cinder: i... yes?

[fifteen minutes later]

Kai: woah woah hold on, Sooyoung was not my first kiss, that was just some rumor going around that time.

Iko: okay then how do you explain THIS?

Kai: those pictures are edited. My first kiss was actually with Ayla.

Iko: the sitar player? But you dated her months later!

Kai: i had my first kiss later than people actually believe.

Iko: oh!

Cinder: well that's kind of unexpected.

Kai: but she was not as much of a good kisser as you ;)

Iko: aaaaaAAAWWWWSFGKJ [fangirl scream]

Cinder, pretending not to be flustered: [scoff] yeah, whatever you say

Kai: it's true!!

Do you think at some point cinder gets curious about Kai’s ex-girlfriends but thinks it would be too weird and awkward to ask him so she asks Iko, and Iko gives her like a 4 hour presentation about exactly who they were and everything she knows about their relationships.

That is a hilarious mental image. It'd be even better if Kai interrupts this spiel and starts correcting Iko's misinformation. But I do kinda feel that Kai would offer up the information to Cinder himself in the nature of being transparent. He knows Cinder has her insecurities, and he never wants to feel for a second that those transient, fleeting relationships were ever serious enough to rival his love for her.

But furthermore, consider: Cinder grew up around Peony. She would already know all the deets on his past relationships because Peony would cry herself sick that her "future husband" was with someone else.

👁️ EYE - what colour are their eyes? do people notice their eyes? is there anything special about them (shows emotion easily, literally magical...)?

I can only really show you her eyes tbh BUT LUCKKLY I CAME PREPARED:

They’re like a galaxy pupil type deal with the coloured iris. Kala’s android eyes <333

Anyway I think it’s one of the things people first notice about her. They’re quite striking and they were a gift from one of the boys after a trip into town. :’)

🤥 LYING - are they good liars? do they have tells to show they're lying?

She’s a moderately good liar. she doesn’t really try to lie, she’s not that kind of girl, but she can pull things off if she needs to. I think her tells are, like, she’ll get overly laissez-faire, her posture will get a little too loose and relaxed and she’ll talk very…animatedly? Like she’s trying to be overly nice or charming or whatever.

👻 GHOST - do they believe in ghosts? what are their "ghostly experiences", if any?

The desert can get very spooky at night so yeah. :/ she absolutely hates going out into the dark or being alone if it’s late on account of like little things she’s seen at the edge of her vision and the one time she swears the saw the ghost of santiago sitting in pa/nam’s chair.

💥 COLLISON - what emotions do they have trouble dealing with?

I think Jade’s like, pretty even tempered and stable honestly? Maybe fear or true anger. Her hands start to shake and she gets super jittery and just freaked out when she’s really scared and I think she has a hard time calming down and quelling her flight response.

😭 CRYING - what makes them cry? do they cry easily?

I don’t think she really cries that easily. she wants to be one of the boyssss (even tho the boys would not mind if she cried for some reason. Awkward pats on the back.)

What does make her cry or at least tear up tho:

- Frustration tears when an expensive hard to get part breaks

- when she drops The Good Food

- Beau and/or Noah get very sad for some reason

- when chowder (her pet gecko) gets sick (she’s okay)

- a bittersweet romance novel

👊 PUNCH - are they quick to violence?

Not usually. I think very rarely her temper can flare bc she’s only human, but she’s generally pretty chill and collected. She just scoffs and walks away, hoping they don’t talk to her for the rest of the day.

💢 ANGER - what are some habits they have that will take some getting used to?

- She has the garage she likes to use in a permanent state of mess and disorganization but she understands it. Drives Beau crazy when he needs to use it too.

- Talks to herself often about anything, everything, and nothing

- IDK SHES JUST KINDA INNOCUOUS. She on that in my own little corner (cinder/ella 2013 cast recording) type shit

👪 FAMILY - what is their family like? what is your ocs relationship to them? does your oc have any siblings?

Her family was really good before [ava/tar voice] the raffen attacked. Her momma and dada were wiped out along with a few other members of the alde/caldos and it was very tragic obvs. The rest of the camp just kinda took her under their wing, especially cassidy. kind of a grumpy but kind uncle to her. :’)

She doesn’t have any siblings but she is quite close with Noah and Beau. Kind of a rascally little third wheel sister to whatever the fuck they have going on.

😨 FEARFUL - when scared, do they go into "flight" or "fight"?

I think she goes into flight first and tries to turn it into a fight response. She wants to be braver but she has a hard time with it. make peace not war :(((

she will swing on a bitch when she gets that response fixed tho be careful 🔧

💤 SLEEPING - do they fall asleep easily? what helps them sleep?

She sleeps fairly well tbh. Not a lot of nightmares or anything. Sounds of the breeze and crickets knock her ass out IMMEDIATELY. If she had more reliable access to the internet she’d be an ASMR girlie.

✨Galefang – My very first impression of them was Stuck Up Little Baby Who Thinks Everyone Is Their Rival mostly due to ooc discussion of possible connections ghjd but! I'm really interested in Gale idk what their situation is really but reading their posts seeing how in their head they tend to be and their struggles with socialization I wanna get to know them better! I'd also like to hold them gently in my hands!

🌸☀️Cinderthorn – Okay I've literally NEVER actually seen Lily and Cinder interact except for at the Gathering when Lily was literally in the process of bleeding out and dying but like!! Reading their posts where they think about each other I can tell they love each other so so much even without seeing them ever really talk and I love that??? I adore them. Also extremely fond of Cinder and Mountain's relationship they make me feel so much,,, I want to see more of them. For ideal friendships, GET over to the canyon border so Pinky can talk to her again!!! I had a ton of fun with it when they ran into her and (I think it was?) Hazel on that one patrol, I'd love to see them hang out again and talk about painting! Also shoving Jag at Cinder they should be besties again I demand it.

☘️Ma'am – AWW GSHJD she'd love to talk to her little kitty friends again!! I think she and Vesper would have fun, Ma'am would show her how to sing and dance even more! She'd love to meet some of HoneyClan's kids too, like Smokey and Razz and all them! Little baby cats..... fascinating. I would also very much like her to meet like, Heath Blossom and Sorrel Jig, just bc I think those interactions would be different brands of fun.

🍃Merry River – AU where Merry becomes Spice Wish's apprentice after everything,, I think he'd be about the same as canon tbh, just with the goal of knowing EVERYTHING there is to know about herbs and healing, both in HoneyClan, in the other Clans, and in regards to supernatural stuff as well, instead of his goal of strength as a warrior. He'd otherwise have many of the same struggles and insecurities, though I think it'd be interesting to see him have such a complicated relationship with Spice. Wanting to learn from him and appreciating him for all he does, but also guiltily resenting him a little bit for not doing more and not being able to save Juniper.

☁️Sycamore Whistle – Hear me out ok what if TimberClan Sycamore. The density of TimberClan's underbrush and the potential for nymphs and fairy rings being so high, there could be all kinds of things around for Sycamore to see and notice, and the ideal of keeping one's Clan safe and healthy could be easily backed up by a little TimberClan strength in this case. The way TimberClan cats never let go or give up on one another could also be interesting to play with in terms of loss, and I'd be interested in Syc and Palemist's relationship in that AU for sure! I think it'd probably be funny asghdj

☁️Crabclaw – God I can't even imagine. Crab is so TimberClan it's weird to think of him as anything else? He'd really be a completely different cat anywhere else. All the events in his life who made him who he is would never have happened in HoneyClan, so he wouldn't even be the same cat in like any conceivable way. MarrowClan Crab I could maybe see? Life events would line up anyway, but I imagine he'd be a lot less shouty and a lot more quiet with the occasional cutting jeer thrown into conversation, a lot more tense and fearful too.

🍃🌲Sunstorm – Answered the alt rank one here! As for ships, honestly no one really! There aren't terribly many cats in their age group to begin with, and those that are are mostly in the other Clans – aaaand I haven't really seen much of them, if at all. I know we have joked about Sun/Wisteria before and I'd be interested to see what their dynamic actually IS considering when they first met she was a) not played by you, and b) it was a tense situation they were in, but I'm more interested in seeing how they interact as like, peers or friends! I don't super consider it a ship, but who knows what the future holds gdsjh
