Here is my post about latest mending and refashioning works!

Now here is my favorite refashion which I'll go into here. I bought this linen dress a while ago because I got influenced lol, this dress had been called the Cimorene dress, after the main character from the Enchanted Forest Chronicles (it's not called that on the website) and it was such a beautiful color and stunning princess style and I adore the Dealing with Dragons series, so I had to have it. Unfortunately the neckline is way too wide for me even though I think I have normal shoulders, so I never wore it. Finally I added elastic on the neckline to bring up the neckline and slim the fit so it wouldn't slide off my shoulders. The back closes with a high invisible zipper in the center, possibly the most annoying way to close a dress by the way. I attached a bronze antique rose metal charm to the zipper so I can more easily grab the zipper pull and actually put the dress on myself and more importantly, take it off by myself instead of being forced to wear it all day. I don't know how long this zip pull will last, but at least it should work for a few wears. Can't wait to find a reason to wear this out, it's linen so it does look rumply, but feels somehow breezy despite the heaviness/thickness of the fabric.

Also in this post, some pajamas from a long dress that I love. And soon to be done is a skirt made from pants. But now... back to cosplay lol.

Without further ado - Cimorene Geneq Greystone's Post-Heavensward Relationship Vibes

Starting right off the bat with-

Haurchefant - what is there to say? she loved him. she loved him so much she can't put words to it in the wake of losing him, and maybe never will. there's a jack and rose from titanic vibe to it, in that she truly feels like he saved her, in every sense, and as much as his death destroyed her she's not going to throw her life away because he would've wanted her to live. they weren't married before he died, but they had intended to, so she does take his name afterward - again in a very jack and rose way. she will carry him with her forever.

Alphinaud - would kill for him. would die for him. he is 100% the scion she is closest to, to the point where it definitely transcends scions for her. that's just her baby brother. don't fucking touch him.

Tataru - continues to be best girl who deserves nothing but good things now and forever

Ysayle - felt an echo-kinship/sisterhood with her that she never really felt with Minfilia, oddly enough, and always knew her heart was in the right place even when she didn't agree with her methods. She was already numb from losing Haurchefant so she didn't have a very strong reaction to her death in the moment but it still hurt her deeply.

Estinien - Gets Him on, like, a fundamental level - and that’s even before losing Haurchefant puts her on a similar revenge path. Doesn’t always agree with him, mind you, but Gets Him. If she had actually lost him alongside Haurchefant and Ysayle… she would have ended this expansion in a very VERY dark place. Finds his and Alphinaud’s relationship incredibly endearing and has a non-zero amount of attraction toward him that she is Not Acknowledging, Thank You.

Aymeric - choosing to read that dinner date as Let's Mourn the Good Man We Both Feel Responsible for Getting Killed... Together. He still remains too much of a politician for Cimorene to feel truly comfortable around him - again, in spite his best efforts. her favorite thing about him, genuinely, is how much he cares about Estinien

Edmont - let's just say, there's a reason Cimorene took Greystone as her last name and not de Fortemps. He has a good heart, and she respects him, but she does sure land in Ishgard and immediately see how his parenting fucked up all three of his sons in different ways and kinda chooses to keep her distance from him, emotionally. she had an excellent father, in her opinion, and even though he's gone she's not in the market for a replacement, thank you.

Artoirel - Honey, Cimorene was NOT like a sister to Haurchefant at all, but she will gladly be a sister to you. His eldest daughter energy is off the charts and she cares him very much. (Also I, Tangy the player, have an AU where he and Cimorene have a political marriage and I have feelings about it)

Emmanellain - spends every second with him either annoyed with him or deeply, deeply angry on his behalf because it is clear to her most of his behavior is due to the aforementioned fucked up upbringing. Still, she doesn't like either emotion he gives her and so, admittedly, also tries to keep herself distant from him. She feels kind of guilty about that.

Y'shtola - she was pulled out of the Lifestream while Cimorene was still in a really bad place post-Vault and was kind of just operating on autopilot so, like Ysayle's death, it didn't Hit her as much as it would have any other time. As feeling slowly returns to her, she is glad that she has Y'shtola back; her no-nonsense attitude is MUCH appreciated

Thancred - Cimorene is dealing with a lot of grief and he is dealing with a lot of grief and this means she doesn’t really know how to deal with him. She’s not beefing with him by any means but she’s also more than happy to give him the space she understands he would want.

Warriors of Darkness - at first had no thoughts other than 'You know those days when you're like, 'this might as well happen?'' Then she got like, their whole story and she is simultaneously heartbroken and terrified of repeating what happened to them. It’s kinda a background/subconscious dread right now but she WILL be having nightmares about it!

Urianger - he gives her the heebie-jeebies. he has nothing else to give [bass boosted]

Krile - *shoves adoptions papers in her face* you're Cimorene's mom now do not resist

Alisaie - she maybe... forgot Alphinaud was a twin if she's being purely honest. HOWEVER it took the space of one conversation for it to go from confusion to adoption. that's Cimorene's baby sister. don't fucking touch her.

Yda/Lyse - kinda surprised at how NOT upset she is with the whole false identity thing. The Cimorene of ARR would probably have asked ‘why didn’t you tell me?’ when it was an option to do so but like, she gets it now. Grief, uh, fucks you up. That’s not important; what matters is having Lyse’s back now - and she does.

Papalymo - Tangy the player had his death spoiled EARLY into playing so like, I knew. But also, Tangy the player cried upon hearing that he was eventually going to die when I had only had him for like 24 hours so to say it still hit both me and Cimorene very hard in the moment is an understatement. She is. very angry now. She is going into Stormblood just so fucking angry.

Yuletide reveal time (and a couple of other things I have posted to AO3 recently):

For Yuletide, I wrote Roses, Too, an Enchanted Forest Chronicles Cimorene & Kazul friendship fic ft. cooking, books, and a queered-up fairytale. 

In December I also posted two Joe/Nicky TOG fics I haven’t mentioned here, maybe the good thing’s gonna happen today (absurd modern AU romcom ficlet, ~technically~ a coffeeshop AU), and Mixed Messages (historical-ish AU fake marriage/identity/only one braincell shenanigans), which was also my second Fandom Trumps Hate fic for 2021.

Yes, please, I would like to know the meanings of your plants’ names! In all the glorious detail!

Yay!!! (this will be kinda long)

So all my plants have at least two names because botanists give plants two names when identifying them, and some have middle names just for fun.

Donelle Sarff Libelle is my snake plant. "Donelle" means "lady" because I feel like my snake plant's maid sometimes, what with her stealing my bathtub. "Sarff" means snake. "Libelle" means dragonfly because the pattern of the coloring kinda reminds me of flames and her leaves look like talons sticking out of the ground. I mainly call her Libelle.

Ayah Yta is my little pot of moss. "Bryophyta" is the taxonomic division that moss belongs to and I just took 'Yta' off the end there. "Ayah" was just a sound I liked. I call her "Ayta" for short.

Brenley Ascalon is my zebra plant. I just liked "Brenley" and then "Ascalon" is a famous holy sword used by Saint George to slay a dragon and the zebra plant looks pretty sharp.

Florence Bayan is my mini umbrella plant. "Florence" is after Florence Welsh, the singer. "Bayan" is another name I just liked the sound of, and it also reminded me of the banyan tree.

Citron Calliope is my lemon balm. "Citron" is an old french name meaning lemon. "Calliope" is the greek muse of the arts.

Myra Oran Grace is my mint. "Myra" means sweet, which felt pretty fitting for a mint plant, and I also liked that it started with an 'M'. "Oran" means little green one. yeah. "Grace" is just something I liked the sound of.

Cimorene Ballari is my Ivy (and I'm now realizing I spelled her second name wrong in the other post). Cimorine is the main character of Dealing with Dragons, the first book in one of my favorite series. "Ballari" means creeper or 'one who walks softly', which felt pretty fitting for a creeping vine that will lay down roots in any soil its vines touch.

So my first tomato plant is in a pot by itself (as in it's the only plant in the pot that has a name) and is named Carmine Gamgee. "Carmine" means 'garden' and is also a type of vibrant red dye. And Gamgee is after the best damn gardener in all of Arda, SAMWISE FREAKING GAMGEE.

My second tomato plant, Seymore Rowan, is in a pot with Aurelio Sativus, my cucumber. I will get to all the meanings of their names in a moment, but first I'm going to explain the story behind "Seymore".

So cucumbers like to grow up trellises, and to do this they put out little vine shoots that wrap around the trellis and hang on for dear life. But my cucumber got confused and grabbed onto the tomato plant instead, and started dragging them both out of the pot. As I was fixing it so Aurelio was not going to commit plant homicide the little voice in my head that belongs to Aurelio was screaming "IF IM GOING DOWN IM TAKING YOU DOWN WITH ME SEYMORE", after the little shop of horrors. It's kinda dumb, but I like it. So that's why my tomato is named Seymore.

MOVING ON. For the second name of my tomato, "Rowan" means 'little red-haired one'. And it's a tomato. and tomatoes are red. Wow, I'm so creative.

Aurelio Sativus is my murderous cucumber plant. "Aurelio" means 'golden' and the flowers of the cucumber are this vibrant golden-yellow color. "Cucumis sativus" is the cucumber's scientific name, so I just took that last name and made it my plant's last name too.

Cassia Callista is my tea rose. "Callista" is a greek name meaning 'beautiful' and my roses are quite beautiful. "Cassia" is... uh... @cassiabaggins *nervous laughter* *clearing my throat* uhh yeAH

Bind Them About Thy Neck - The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly; Characters: Tuco Ramirez; Category: Gen

I can't stop talking about this fic. If you, like me, were thinking "fanfic, for this movie? Really?" please give this a shot. Poetic, beautiful -- an amazing character study.

Roses, Too - Enchanted Forest Chronicles; Characters: Cimorene, Kazul; Category: Gen

This fic reads like a missing scene from the books, which is the greatest compliment I can give for fic for this series. Hitting me right in the childhood nostalgia.

A Shimmering Balance Act - Arrested Development; Characters: George Michael Bluth, Maeby Funke; Category F/M

I've read this one at least five times over. Excellent characterization, dialogue --it's so funny & tender & I just hope for these two kids.

High Fantasy book recs!

A few days ago I asked for high fantasy book recs that don’t have a human/male/straight/white protagonist or follow the LotR structure too closely, and ya’ll really delivered! I looked into these recs a bit more today and compiled a list with blurbs (so I remember which one’s which at a glance). Thought I’d share, since I hadn’t heard of some of these yet, and it’s always good to get more book recs :) Feel free to send me more and I’ll add them to this list later on. Yuletide Recs 2019

Happy Yuletide, everyone! First, I got a delightful little fic written for me: promenade.  My Fair Lady, Eliza Doolittle and Mrs. Higgins.  Wonderful story.  Mrs. Higgins was superb, and Eliza's reactions to the English upper class abroad are perfect. Here are some other fics I have enjoyed: 4'33"--John Cage The Sound Of A Yuletide Fic Not Being Written. There sure are a lot of cars going by.  Great meta look at writing, and 4'33" The Addams Family (movies) An Addams Family Contract (Written in Secret, Signed in Blood).  “I’m an Addams,” Debbie protests indignantly. Immediately after making this statement, Debbie realized that it was true.  (Or, Wednesday wants to exorcise Debbie. Debbie wants to kill Wednesday. A negotiation begins.)  This is AMAZING and hysterically funny, and the thought of Debbie and Wednesday working together is TERRIFYING. Don't I Deserve Love (and Jewelry).  The plan to win Wednesday’s friendship did not start well. She shared her admiration for the girl’s blowtorch, then hinted about her own childhood affinity for matchsticks and fire accelerants, but Wednesday was unimpressed.  Do better,” she said before lowering her hockey mask and stalking after Pubert. Honeymoon in Transylvania.  Ahahahaha, this is wonderful.  Gomez and Morticia vs. the TSA! Alien Series A Room with a Crappy View. 17k of Ripley and Hicks awesomeness post-Aliens. This is an absolutely AMAZEBALLS fic, and I LOVE it. I love that they deal with their trauma. I love how they wrote the Colonel, doing the best she could on the evidence she had and how frustrating that was and yet, when you look at it from her POV, what better way could she have handled it? The action is great, the relationships between Ripley and Hicks and Bishop were awesome, this is an absolute treat. All About Eve Getting Back to Being a Woman.  Karen knew enough not to go to New Haven.  Never let it be said that Margo Channing doesn't know how to take care of her friends.  I love this. I could just hear Bette Davis and the others saying their lines, and the ending is perfect--I think Karen and Lloyd will be able to have a much better relationship after this, if he's willing to accept and live into the changed relationship. Till I have the possession of everything she touches.  Addison DeWitt/Eve Harrington and their daughter.  VERY well done Addison perspective. Aubrey-Maturin series. Vent de Boulet.  Jack & Aubrey, Teen.  The aftermath of Stephen's escape from the French interrogators at Port Mahon.  Wonderful portrayal of the relationship between them and natural consequences of their trauma-filled lives. Babette's Feast Body and Soul.  After the French dinner, a new normal established itself among the faithful. Ballet Shoes A Long Way from the Cromwell Road.  Petrova visits Pauline in Hollywood after the war ends. Bletchley Circle Logical Recovery.  After the showdown with Marta Magro at the warehouses, Jean, Millie, and Lucy embark for Glasgow to find Eliška. Archival research, an extended stay with Jean's cousin, undercover rescue missions, and much emotional processing of past events ensue. Cabaret Infinite Variety.  London, 1950. Clifford has coming looking for Sally. Instead he finds a girl who may or may not be her – or their – daughter, the reclusive former Master of Ceremonies, and an annoying parrot. He becomes part of their strange household, full of love and bickering; sorrow, pain and music. No-one will tell him where Sally is, or even whether she’s alive. No-one will tell him anything. Except the parrot, who tells him that life is a Cabaret.  Oh, wow, this is painful but SO GOOD and the ending is perfect. DC Teen Titans From Cold to Fire.  "Do you want to go out with me?" "What?" Young Justice Getting Stupid in your area.  Hang-time includes considerations of evil clones and taking down a newly raised lich lord.  Love the banter. Die Hard Your Answers Please.  “Come on, kid,” McClane said gruffly. “This place is fucking depressing. You’re coming to stay with me.” Enchanted Forrest Chronicles Best Served Cold.  In which Antorell causes trouble in the Enchanted Forest, and Cimorene and Alianora make an amphibious new friend.  Hilarious, I love Ribbita! Ghostbusters Better Than Roses. Janine dates. It's...something. The Goblin Emperor Imperial (non) Immunity.  Csevet doesn't get sick. Maia's not so confident. Light a Mourner's Candle.  The Archprelate finds a chaplain for Maia. Against a Sure Winter.  When the opportunity arose to become one of the four ceremonial bodyguards for the new Emperor, Cala Athmaza volunteered. He didn't fully realize what he was letting himself in for, but he knew in his heart he had made the right choice. Sugar Lumps.  Maia spends some time with his horse. Greek Mythology beauty, her artificers.  Shortly after their wedding, Aphrodite sustains a small wound.  Really great Aphrodite/Hephaestus dynamic. a thing of beauty, golden.  Olympus’ one-century wonder appears in Hephaestus’ workshop between one strike on his anvil and the next..  Another really great Aphrodite/Hephaestus fic. Hancock yeah I know the shortcut, rather take the long way. Ray daydreams a New York that looks a lot like something out of an old Daredevil comic - towers looming over the city like cragged, jaded sentries, impartial to the neon kaleidoscope of chaos churning along below them. Hancock roosts on the tallest, craggiest one of course, brooding as he watches the slow pulsing heartbeat of the city below him. Ready to dive off his perch and into action with the first cry of distress, and there’s probably lots of those in a city like New York. Lots of zooming around, saving people, saving the world. Hopefully with slightly less metaphorical middle fingers to the world. And less alcohol. Ray’s not an idiot though, and one sparkly life-changing month doesn’t just fix people. History RPF 15th Century. these late eclipses.  Anne Neville, like others of her line, is born with a gift.  I LOVE the way magic is brought into this, it melds so well with the history. 19th Century/German folklore The Bargain.  Bettina finds a secret door at her grandmother's house, one that leads to something very unexpected. The things she learns as a result change her life in small but important ways. Imperial Radch Still Left in Want of Mercy.  The Republic of Two Systems is about a month old. Seivarden is having yet another crisis - can Mercy of Kalr get her through it? Maybe, with the crew's and Fleet Captain's help.  Interesting Ship perspective. high above the trees.  An unexpected embassy. Really excellent, probably the best way I've ever seen "Awn Lives" done. The Incredibles Life of a Superhero, Junior Grade.  Fortunately, this was Tuesday night training, not a real villain-chasing experience. Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell The Magicians of Starecross Hall.  Being a series of interludes in the life of John Segundus, newly practical magician, in the year following the disappearances of Messrs. Strange and Norrell. Including: a new school for young magicians, explorations of the King’s Roads, Lady Pole’s alarming needle-work, unanticipated trips to Faerie, and John Childermass.  I love this story!  How the school got started, and 'Miss Wintertowne' (although I do think she would style herself 'Mrs' Wintertowne, because she is married and up through the 18th Century 'Mistress/Mrs' vs. 'Miss' had as much to do with age and experience and such as it did with marital status) and how she uses embroidery as a kind of art therapy.  I love the slow burn, and I love the stuff about exploring the King's Roads and Faerie.  It is excellent and awesome. Lilo & Stitch The Dance.  Lilo peeked out from behind the curtains and looked over the stage. A Little Princess Discipulae.  "I just realized," Sara said. "Becky, I could have a tutor now. I could hire someone to teach me anything I wanted. All the things that are hard to learn alone from books — Greek and Latin, Sanskrit, algebra, anything I wanted. Hey guys I have a dumb idea

I would like to write a 10,000 words of fan fiction during winter break, but I can’t decide on what to do. So here is twelve options. Either choose one for 10,000 OR 2 for 5000 each or 3 for 3333 each. Please let me know :).

1. ATLA AU: Some benders and non-benders can turn into the magical animals associated with their element, and the Gaang (season three edition) are being hunted by the most successful poachers in the world for roughly an episode. Aang: All of course. Katara: Magic fish possibly? Would have to workshop that one. Zuko: Dragon. Sokka: normal but excellent sword and boomerang fighter, of course. Toph: normal Bender, which makes her interactions with wild badgermoles and her innovations in metal bending all the more impressive. (DEFINITELY inspired by muffinlance’s wonderful work)

2. Umbrella Academy: What happened to the other kids? Mostly a description of Reginald being horrible and very quickly judgemental of the babies while gathering the Seven, and how/whether they grew up or not. (Have only seen the tv show but apparently in the comics Five and Luther are twins which may play into what I’m going to write.)

3. Batman: Peggy Sue AU for Alfred where he wakes up the day after the Waynes’ murders with memories of having witnessed his entire family die, and so resolved to make sure Gotham grows up safe, and so do Bruce and his little Robins, perhaps at the expense of them never living with him at all. It may or may not be difficult to make sure Damian is born lol. (It would be a big plot point)

4. I’ve been kind of working on this for a while but I have a choose your own adventure story (but you have to roll dice for unspecified paths) for each Disney princess. Have currently finished planning out most of Belle, just depending on what you guys want I would write up and post however many. The paths may depend on how much of the extended lore I’ve seen (For example, I’ve seen more of the Ariel extended canon stuff, so farther along you may meet Gabriella, or Melody, or so on.) it would be a Peggy sue au once again. I may also make a mini-one to ‘unlock’ with luck for Melody. Anna and Elsa are separate ones.

5. A continuation of The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents, by Terry Pratchett. Maurice would once again be mostly the main character, and he would set up a kid to take over as Lord Mayor of Ankh-Morpork, and possibly get involved in the steamboat business. If we had time, we would meet more of the extended Ankh-Morpork cast.

6. The Nine Lives of the Marquis of Carabas: an exploration of Neverwhere, Coraline, the Graveyard Book, Good Omens, American Gods, Time Cat, Pan’s Labyrinth, the Neverending Story and Discworld. Basically how he lived one life and kind of ‘Forrest Gumped” his way around the stories.

7. A Phantom of the Opera/Over The Garden Wall crossover where a dead Eric decides to kill the Beast - at least he doesn’t try to suck the souls out of children! (Only young, beautiful women, of course). Wouldn’t be a very happy fic

8. Labyrinth (Jim Henson Movie): where after realizing that both she and Toby are too touched by the Fae to survive very long in this world, Sarah and her brother must rush to get back to the Labyrinth in time. (Small crossover with Pan’s labyrinth probablyy.)

9. Percy Jackson: and the extended pantheons crew all have a chill day and then do a murder mystery dinner party. I just want to mess around with all of them.

10. Dealing with Dragons and the Last Unicorn: Cimorene accidentally crosses over, meets the Last Unicorn, and invites her over for dessert. More plot to ensue, of course. Sort of a look at how a fractured fairy tale/aware of the fairy tale but unable to stop fate kind of story would mix.

11. (This one is likely to happen because I was recently talking to another user about this) The Boy Who Could Fly: after Max the dog dies, Eric appears with a puppy. Milky and Eric manage to then spend the day together, before he must go away again.

12. Peter Pan 2: Jane struggles to take care of her mother while raising her own daughters by herself. Desperate and in need of some time to mentally sort things out, she asks her children to call for Peter, despite being afraid they’ll stay away forever.

13. Wonder Woman and Captain America team up and are not shipped. They are just buddies who occasionally cross dimensions to hang out and punch fascists.

14. Steven Universe: The Pearls (along with a Steven who has seen a therapist) fuse into a time-travelling Mega Pearl and punch the Diamonds in their faces at the point where they have been the most oppressive in their lives. Rose Quartz does get treated as a separate entity, but instead of getting punched, she gets a HUGE talking-to.

15. The Princess and the Frog: When Naveen’s parents die shortly after WWII, they must choose between leaving her dreams and America behind forever or taking control of Maldonia. After the hardships of the Great Depression, the War

16. A Ghibli Fic: I want to write some some older Ghibli but would need a suggestion for that.

TOP THREE SHIPS: Hm, that’s a little hard. I don’t ship much, but there is one ship that I absolutely love - Ban Ryu x Soo Yeon, (Hwarang).
