described as someone who is ‘gentle on the eyes but harsh on the heart'. nour is not known for speaking frequently, and rarely acknowledges those who speak to him first. he appears cold and aloof, his expression likened to frosted glass. those who take a good look at him have noted that his eyes appear especially fierce, even when the rest of him looks unbothered. he can be rather unfriendly and shares little of his younger sister's warmer traits. while he gives off the notion that he dislikes almost everyone, he appears to have a soft spot for his younger sister and is shown to even smile when Solstice is around. however, the two of them are often butting heads for some undisclosed reason, and the harsh way he treats those around him leads others to misinterpret him as someone with vile intentions.

like his younger sister, nour has a mole underneath one eye  –  but his is on the left, rather than the right, mirroring solstice's. he is both startling tall and well-built, giving the impression of ‘absolute unit of a man’, as humans often joke. always seen wearing gloves, rather than stars reflected in his eyes  –  it's gilded metal gears, adopts wearing darker red eyeliner on the edges of his eyes in a similar fashion to solstice. has several face piercings including his septum  &&  snake bites. nour is extremely beautiful like solstice.

created as ‘God’s' first attempting at making a celestial creature that could carry out his will, he was soon cast aside and declared a ‘failure’ for his inability to accept any of 'God's' direct orders. for some reason, the Operating System that controls his mechanical mainframe acquired some sort of bug that prevented ‘God’ from loading any pre-coded data into him, thus making him a ‘defect’. due to his individualistic nature, ‘God’ began to fear Nour might interfere with his plans and banished him to the graveyard of the angels, declaring him it's eternal watcher and master. originally Nour had been heartbroken, but idling away in solitude and abandonment around a sea of silent graves gave way to bitterness and resentment. when Eden was ‘born’, Nour went behind ‘God’s' back and began aiding them on the sidelines; declaring himself their ‘older brother’ and promising to protect them from ‘God’s' will. initially the two got along quite well, but something shattered their close bond and the two are frequently shown crossing weapons whenever they see one another. Nour is perceived as an ‘antagonist’ to Solstice, but the truth behind the things he does is far more self-sacrificial than it seems.

You’re so right about the aversion to sexuality in media over the last ~5 years in particular. I really hate when people argue against the presence of romance and more specifically sex scenes in movies and tv shows bc they usually say something about it “not advancing the plot” but like??? Not every scene has to be perfectly logical and precise and move the narrative forward. As you said, romance and sex are just common parts of our daily lives, even when they don’t serve a purpose in advancing our lives.

And it all plays into amatonormativity too by reinforcing the idea that the only valid form of romantic relationships is one in which two people are monogamous and procreative, but enjoy no real sense of intimacy. After all, procreation is the most valuable mode of production under capitalism, there is no money without labor, so we’ve almost returned to this era where people are expected to partner up, have sex to procreate, and not talk about it.

Anyway that’s all I got lmao sorry for rambling

no no no anon youre so completely right!!! we’ve absolutely gotten back to this point!! i think the sex without intimacy is huge right now—sex without romance. sex without kink or taboo or even just pleasure. it really is sex just to procreate! which is not only the most valuable production under capitalism but also continues to assert that your body is not a sexual or romantic one, but rather one for work. for production.

i also completely agree with you that i don’t personally need every single moment to advance the plot—but i also think sex and romance CAN advance the plot.

or like i said, give us another side of a character or characters. romance and sex can help us understand a fuller picture—these things are also personality traits!! facets to characters!! these are questions and topics that DO provide insight into a characters psyche. and more than that, is a safe place for us to explore sex and romance. or engage with it.
