I love those chunky phones they have for construction workers/equally as rough areas of work, love a flip phone that are hefty enough that it looks like you could inflict blunt force trauma by lobbing it at a home invader

Every time I think this laptop is finally succumbing to the call of the grave it just keeps on going
#i just don't understand HOW#it's suffered two catastrophic falls in the last couple of weeks because i fell asleep with it on my bed and knocked it off when i woke up#no screen damage no fan rattling no issues whatsoever#even though it was still turned on both times#it is a tank because it's an older model so it's pretty chunky and heavy#but it's at LEAST seven or eight years old at this point because i bought it as a refurb well before covid#truly the nokia phone of laptops

the old family laptop somehow has a password-protected bios, which nobody remembers setting, and therefore do not know the password to. my grandpa has tried about ten different things to bypass this, and now has the computer taken apart. seriously, the sticks of ram are on the counter, the hard disc is sitting next to it, and alongside them are other assorted parts, like the battery (which has probably needed a replacement for ten years) and who knows what else. probably the disk drive.
#it's an old 2010 toshiba satellite. they're chunky#it's got a 17 inch screen and a disk drive. it's going to be chunky by default but still
