I saw some painted turtles basking on logs yesterday and thought, that could be the last time I see any until spring.
It's true October can get hot and if I get out to the lake I might see a few more but we're getting near the end so I said thanks and goodbye just in case.

At Downtown Crystal Lake, Makani is excited for the crafts show his family visited! The first thing he did was get ice-cream at Mellie’s chocolate. He loved the new flavor he tried was peanut butter ice-cream.
After that Makani went to The Flag Store & so much more, he got a doll for his daughter Squirty.
There was a D.J. and the music was loud and upbeat! Defiantly a place Makani would recommend.

*28th Dimension English Dictionary:
1. Chrysemys: Due to the term “Turtle” being a family and not a genus, “painted Turtles” are called Chrysemys, not “painted Turtles”.
2. Midland Chrysemys: Due to the term Turtle being a family and not a genus, “Midland painted Turtles” are called Midland Chrysemys.

Uncharismatic Fact of the Day
Ever had a meal in the bath? The painted turtle does it every day! The tongues of this species can't move freely, so in order to swallow their food they have to be under water.
