The Enchanting Miri Mums
Chrysanthemum Miri being introduced at Chrysanthemum Charm last year. Photo credit: Eleanor Chua.
This was taken when they were just introduced into the conservatory and were still looking fresh. The mums had seemed to be fading exceptionally fast that time.
Those mightāve been āforced mumsā. That is, according to some gardeners, they had probably been manipulated to bloom fast to meet delivery, and thus would most likely be in their last legs of life. However, they couldāve probably been able to last longer if sun screens in the conservatory had been deployed.

Yi-Hah-Hai Seafood (Part 1)
Last few weeks in 2010 I went down to Miri to go studio-hunting with my hubby, and our trip seemed to have ended up upgrading into a semi-company trip when everyone wanted to join in (well, almost everyone). We reached Miri at about 5, 6pm and we definitely needed to go have a chow down after such a long trip and making it safely to our hotel. So we followed my hubby's colleague's boyfriend (who is a Miri-an) and he took us to a seafood restaurant called Yi-Hah-Hai Seafood.
This be the signboard of the restaurant. It's situated right opposite the riverside which you have to pass by this huge fish monument in the middle of the roundabout that signifies that you are now at Riverview, or something like that, if I'm not mistaken.
This be the outside neon lights for those who have a thing for dining outdoors. Surprisingly this is actually a halal restaurant that serves no pork, which is good for my hubby's colleagues because some of them are Muslim.
This be the downstairs dining. It was almost a huge full-house downstairs, but of course, we were a big group and typical Bruneians cannot stand anywhere without air-conditioning so we were going to eat upstairs instead of dining outdoors
All of us trying to get some good seats. You can see how a trip for just me and my hubby turn into a whole company affair. LOL!
Our weapon of choice for dining
Miri time is beer time! So I definitely didn't hesitate to order beer along with some colleagues of my hubby's.
Drinks for those who wants to stay sober and saving it for the partying later on, so it's iced lemon tea for my hubby, and herb tea, chrysanthemum and soya bean drink for the others
Stay tuned for Part 2...
