General headache and migraine flag
[alt: A rectangular flag made of seven equally sized horizontal stripes. Top down the colours are: muted dark teal-ish green, muted green-ish grey, dark red, muted red, muted light red, purple, dark purple.]
Since I couldn't find a general headache and migraine flag I gave it a go myself. It's based on quite a few other flags
episodic migraine flag by @ thepokedexisgay
chronic migraine flags by @ enby-larry
chronic tension headache flag by @ themogaidragon
chronic daily headache flag by @ themogaidragon
chronic headaches/migraines flag by @ fantasy-store
As for the colour meanings, here goes muted dark teal-ish green - migraine and headaches muted green-ish grey - brain fog and sense sensitivity dark red, red, light red - spectrum of head pain (frequent, chronic,...) purple - migraine auras and other effects of headaches and migraines dark purple - chronic pain and fatigue
This flag can be used by anyone with headaches and/or migraines whether they're chronic or not.

i just had the worst fucking cluster headache of my life, i could not function OR rest for about 3 hours, i was just sitting in various spots of my apartment like this >_< while trying to find the darkest spot i could, alternating between trying to sleep and trying to just sit there.
trying to sleep made it worse, somehow? i eventually was able to in the end but for several hours trying to sleep made the pain throb and stab. i took some seroquel and that was able to help me sleep but i could not open my eyes for the life of me, nor could i keep them shut for too long. my right eye / back of my head just hurt like hell for no reason for 3 hours and at several points i just kinda whined and cried a little because there was not really much i could do drinking water didnt help. i ate food, that didnt help
that sucks ass. if you deal with these too, im sorry. people trivialize headaches all the time, but this one resisted an extra gabapentin, which helps with migraines and headaches, and i was still unable to do anything but deal with what was happening. there are a lot of different types and manifestations of headaches. if someone tells you they're experiencing a bad headache, please let them do what they need in order to get through whatever they're experiencing

think the only thing ive felt comparable to a real ass carnal desire is the last few weeks ive been really wishing like, someone would give my head a good scrub.
it has to me the same type of euphoric joy you see on a dog when you just give them a real strong body rubdown and they just melt.

when i say i have daily headaches i don’t mean that i get a headache once a day, i mean that from the moment i wake up to the moment i fall asleep, i have a headache. i varies in intensity but it never goes away. and i feel like there’s a big difference that the people around aren’t understanding
#so far the response from my parents is that i need better sleep and i don’t eat enough / properly#i agree that i might be deficient in some vitamins and what not#but my lack access to nutritional food is not my fault#my therapist seems to think that it’s my anxiety and that’s how it presents itself#and so she’s referred me to a psychiatrist#but i’m hoping i get to a normal doctor before then to see if it’s anything else#i’ve been giving myself massages to see if it has anything to do with my muscle tension#and it’s far as I can tell it has no correlation#i’m not sure what type of headaches like this because where the pain is and how it feels varies a lot#It’s in my temples my forehead#it’s been in my temples my forehead my brow bone sometimes it goes down to my cheekbones#it’s also been in the back of my head sometimes it feels like it’s almost in the center of my skull#i’m not sure. I do know that coffee can make it worse as well as like sunlight. but beyond that I don’t know#moving to much ig#chronic headaches#mental illness#chronic illness

30.11.24
Awful night and day. I got prescribed Nefopam for the tension headaches and neck spasms that have been getting worse and worse over the past couple of months. I took my first dose last night and the side effects were awful. I had everything listed on the NHS website apart from hallucinations and pink urine (which is so bizarre!). 111 were called at around midnight and I don’t even know if I slept at all.
111 made me go to the hospital in the morning where I was predictably told not to take any more Nefopam…and to see yet another GP on Monday to be prescribed something else - joy! I’ve now seen 4 doctors in 2 days. I’m not sure I want to ask for more painkillers. I haven’t tried a single pain killer besides paracetamol that hasn’t given me horrendous side effects. And none of them have ever touched my pain. I’d rather have just pain than pain + side effects.
I’ve spent all day feeling woozy and shaky. I spent lots of it in bed. I was planning to get the painting I need to finish done today but I ended up getting the paints out and then sitting in front of my painting, staring into space for ages and having horrible hospital memories take over my head because my brain refused to shut up after being in the hospital this morning.
I spent a while trying to look up why I was doing this - was it a dissociative flashback? I’ve had quite a few instances like this over the past few years and I never literally feel like I’m in these memories, like the usual flashback descriptions I read, more like I’m observing them from a distance which is what the dissociative flashback page I read described.
I don’t know if there’s much point in me always dwelling on and researching what my brain does (is it self-centred to do this?). I am always desperate for solid scientific explanations for everything I come across including my mind - but I know the mind cannot actually be condensed so simply.

Sometimes when I have a headache it feels like my brain is stuck to the sides of my skull and if I could just crack my skull open and loosen it up in there and give it a good cleaning so it’s not sticky anymore I could go about my life again.
#I have migraines and chronic other headaches that aren’t really fully migraines but idk what they are#when I got my glasses my headaches improved a lot so maybe it’s tension#but life started getting really stressful over the summer and hasn’t let up since#so I’m back on that pain train and it’s#well it is the way that it is#if I have a headache for too long whether it’s tension or sinus or w/e#it’ll eventually become a migraine#so that’s cool#all roads lead to migraine
