Behind the Scenes of Angel!Crowley and Aziraphale

From VFX Voice interview with Visual Effects Supervisor Matias Derkacz:

One of the main assets of the show, which played a role in the Before the Beginning sequence was Aziraphale’s and Crowley’s wings, which had to be recreated for Season 2. “The wings were created for Season 1, but we redid them as they needed more complex behavior,” Derkacz explains. “The wings were animated to follow Crowley’s and Aziraphale’s body movements to enhance their emotions. So, there was a bit more animation work involved with this. It was more complex the way that feathers behaved since we had to have proper feather interactions. That was the biggest sequence for sure in terms of volume and complexity. It was a fun and challenging sequence.”

#classic rovatunk újabb száma jelentkezik, most Frank Hirata-t rángattuk elő a Tentacles of Destruction (1994) videó részével, amiről a Chromeball interjújában elárul néhány részletet:

Chromeball Incident: “It’s a Wonderful Life.” (“Ez egy gyönyörű élet.”) Mesélj nekünk a Tentacles of Destruction részedről. Ez a film viszonylag rövid volt. Igaz, hogy a saját részedet te rendezted? A Stallion Alert rész hogy került bele?

Frank Hirata: (nevet) Még mindig megnevettet a Stallion Alert betét. Meglepetés volt, hogy belekerült. A haverom John, pro biciklis bolt. Úgy alakult, hogy lőttem róla pár felvételt egy alkalommal. Aztán bennehagytuk a részemben, szerintem vicces volt. Szóval igen, ez a videó részem javarészt az én elképzelésem volt. Emlékszem, hogy leírtam trükkről trükkre, hogy hogy álljon össze, beleértve a közbülső részleteket, bevágásokat is. Nagyon jó érzés volt, mert úgy éreztem, hogy végre én is hozzá tehetek valami plusz kreatív dolgot az egészhez. A cím egy Failure dal, amit felhasználtunk a részhez. Véletlen egybeesés az egész hangulattal, amit sugallni akartam. Akkoriban erősen érezhető volt a fogyasztói társadalom hatása, amelyet a szimbolizmus segítségével szerettem volna bemutatni. A Thrasher is beválasztotta az év legjobb részei közé, ami egy jelentős dolog és ez is azt sugallta akkoriban a számomra, hogy jó úton járok.

Így utólag úgy gondolom, hogy jobb átadni másoknak a videórészeink szerkesztését és megengedni azt, hogy úgy mutassanak be bennünket, ahogy ők látják. Ez sokkal egységesebb képet mutat ha az ember karrierjének egészét nézzük. Valamit megtanultam az évek során, méghozzá azt, hogy ha nagyon szétaprózódunk és nagyon az aktuális benyomások vezérelnek, akkor ezek a kreatív elképzelések hosszú távon nem biztos, hogy olyan jó összképet adnak.
