Omg, I haven't read James Allen's biography and probably won't, but how the hell he can write sth cruel like that. Can't he get sued for false info or somtheing

The book was published in 2006, without the blessing of the Schumachers, and with quotes coming from people who were around at the time but not close to Michael - like Webber - plus a bunch of cut and paste stuff from various interviews and articles. Webber recounted the time Schumi sought him out after his maiden race to congratulate him on getting points (only ten or so cars finished the race so he'd have been hard pressed not to get any) and, at the time, he felt delighted and honoured to have been singled out for praise by the great man himself. Then he told James Allen that it was just a cynical photo opportunity because there were cameras everywhere. I mean, wtf?!? This is Michael Schumacher we're talking about; the cameras followed him everywhere, regardless of what he was doing. I thought that was a pretty nasty attitude from Webber and I lost a great deal of respect for him when I read that.

This is why I won't buy unauthorised biographies anymore; they're just hatchet jobs by gutter press journalists who don't give a damn about their subject but know they can make a quick buck by writing about them. I'd love to read a biography about Lando Norris but the only one so far was churned out by a crappy little sports reporter - I'm loathe to call him a journalist - from The Sun (lowest of the low in terms of the UK gutter press) and I don't even want to read what he has to say about the man, let alone pay the price of the book to do so.

If you'd like to read a biography of Schumacher, I recommend the ones by Christopher Hilton or Pino Allievi (the latter is an absolutely gorgeous coffee table book).

📽️ Lady Macbeth (2016)

I came across this movie when I was looking at the IMDb pages of the actors in Persuasion. This one looked interesting, but, let me tell you, it is a waste of time. It was disjointed and confusing with the way the plot progressed, and the main character is just evil. Like there is no one in this movie that is likable. I watched the whole thing because I kept thinking that surely the end would make everything make sense or at least redeem the main character. But that was not to be. I pretty much hated every minute of it. I’m not one of those people who will say a movie is good just because it has good acting. I don’t understand how anyone could like this.

Sex/nudity: 7/10 (on and off screen sexual acts, male and female nudity)

Language: 5/10 (two f words, one c word, some others)

Violence: 5/10 (various deaths both on and off screen, some pretty brutal)

For recommendations of resources, the best book I've read about James Hunt is 'James Hunt: The Biography' by Gerald Donaldson. It goes into a lot of depth about his life, and his family recommends it as they helped give information to the author about it. There is also the book 'Memories of James Hunt' by Christopher Hilton, a book compiled of people talking about their experiences with James. It's been a while since I read that book, but I remember it being good.

'Grand Prix Season 1976 Hunt vs Lauda' by David Benson is another good book because the author wrote it at the end of the 1976 season, and he was good friends with James, so he had a lot of close knowledge. This book has a split attention between James and Niki.

I would not recommend any books by the author Tom Rubython, as while he has a two books out on James that do have a lot of detail of his life, the author is misogynistic and so that affects what information he includes and excludes about James - and the man also didn't like Niki and that comes across in the book.

Most of the other books I mentioned though you can get pretty cheaply online depending where you live, but there might be some pdf versions around as well or be able to rent them off Internet archive.

Here is a link to an article about James Hunt, his anti-Apartheid ideas, and what he did about the South African gp to support groups fighting for independence and equality.

Here's a link to an article about James's life after Formula One where he had to deal with his addictions and depression and how he over came them.

There are some documentaries about James Hunt on YouTube that have information, including one called 'When Playboys Ruled the World', but that one is a bit more biased in portraying James as a womaniser and leaving out other parts. It also interviews Max Mosley about his scandal which was...not great to watch. But if you want to check that out and other documentaries about James Hunt, on my pinned post I have a link to my YouTube playlist of classic f1 documentaries.

I would try checking out interviews with James's sons as well for information. Tom and Freddie Hunt, as they have been trying a lot to get more accurate information about James out there and speak about who he truly was.

On my pinned post under the Niki Lauda section, I have a master list of quotes I've collected from books about him. Some of them also include information about James Hunt in there.
