Hugh has had a brainwave to speed up the Enigma decoding machine (don't ask me to explain 😱) and Alan Turing thinks "this is actually not an entirely terrible idea". I love a good British understatement.
Hugh's face is priceless. And then he goes on stealing Alan's sandwich with a goode smile and I am a goner 💀.

Day 2 - Hair Care
OCS: Elijah, Joan
Words: 186
TWS: none!
@augusnippets
---------------------------------------
"Wow you're really good at this," mumbled Joan as she sat on the school bathroom floor in front of Elijah. Why were they, especially Elijah considering the fact he's a boy, in the girls bathroom? Well, pretty simple, they wanted to do a hairstyling business in school, bathroom was the perfect place to do it without getting caught.
"Duh course I am!" Retorted Elijah as his hands weaved through her hair, braiding it slowly, and Joan couldn't help but roll her eyes. She knows he's good at it, she'd seen him in action earlier that day with other kids hair but still.
"Yeah, yeah it's just weird experiencing it you know?" She explained as Elijah hummed in acknowledgement before she felt his hands pull away from her hair. "There! All done!"
Joan stood up, looking in the mirror to see her hair. It wasn't anything too fancy, just a simple, but surprisingly neat, loose braid trailing down her back. She couldn't suppress the small snort as she caught sight of Elijah behind her in the mirror, admiring his handiwork.
"Heh, nice, thanks Eli."
"No problem Jo!"

"No one normal could have done that. Do you know, this morning... I was on a train that went through a city that wouldn't exist if it wasn't for you. I bought a ticket from a man who would likely be dead if it wasn't for you. I read up on my work... a whole field of scientific inquiry that only exists because of you. Now, if you wish you could have been normal... I can promise you I do not. The world is an infinitely better place precisely because you weren't."

Gorgeous, clever, naughty Hugh. He's just told a salacious anecdote, making everyone laugh, and now he is showing Alan's fiancée Joan a good time. Having a brain the size of a planet is clearly not incompatible with being fun.

DAY 9 - DEHYDRATION
Church On Michael's Street
OCS: Joan
TWS: 'Dehydration', migraines
Words: 195
@augusnippets
--------------------
Joan is thirsty.
She's so thirsty and it doesn't make sense. She's already drank water, a lot! Like five cups or so in the past hour or two. (Okay that's probably an exaggeration but still-) Yet she feels like she hasn't had a droplet of water in years.
But maybe worst of all she feels weak. Something as simple as standing seems to sap up all her energy and she doesn't get it. She wants to sleep, but that stupid feeling of something crawling, writhing under her skin- their skin...discomfort, is keeping her wide awake. As if somethings forcing her eyes open.
Groaning, she flips onto her back, ignoring the sharp pain it sends through her skull. The migraines are getting worse too, as if somethings scratching at the inside of her skull, trying to tear through it. Maybe she's sick? Nah, can't be, she'd have a fever or something and her skin isn't hot or flushed.
She smacks her dried lips together, God she's so- hungry, hungry, HUNGRY. Starving, craving, needing to feast, to eat and eat and eat and eat and eat-
She's just gonna have another drink, she's probably just dehydrated.
