The Warners' Surprisingly Fitting Concerns

You know, I never gave it much thought (outside of this dumb joke) but each Warner's verse in "We Could Try to Do It, Santa" fits their personality pretty well and is about the thing they'd naturally be the most concerned about in that situation.

Yakko's Verse:

At first his verse is about how they can't deliver the presents without Santa's magic and how they'd have to upgrade Santa's sleigh so it can fly fast enough to travel the world in one night, but then it's revealed his true major concern is how that would result in the reindeer getting hurt:

"Prancer and the others might burn up if we're that fast"

"And a sonic boom would work its way through Dasher, Donner, Dancer,

Soon engulfing Cupid, Comet; Santa, this can't be the answer!

See the last thing that we'd wanna do is make the reindeer yelp!"

As a protective older sibling, naturally Yakko would assume Santa of all people would want to protect the reindeer given that they are under his care, like how Yakko tries to protect his sibs. I think the switch up in the verse's focus also reflects how although Yakko's snarky yet jovial nature means he's not quick to be emotionally open and often hides or undercuts his sincerity with snark or humour; he still clearly deeply cares for his sibs and that will eventually show.

Wakko's Verse:

Well Wakko's verse is unsurprisingly about food, but I also wanna point out how it easily has the most extreme consequences of the three, given that the whole of Earth shatters.

This reflects how Wakko tends to go to extremes the most out of the Warners. Need to do a gag about having eyes at the back your head? Wakko will have nine rather than just two. The Warners are bouncing on springs during an earthquake? Wakko's bouncing on a spring upside down, etc.

The little guy loves being extra.

Dot's Verse:

Dot suggests spying on people in her verse. Dot specifically would be the Warner to sing about this when you remember her whole schtick is acting cute and innocent, but being way tougher, craftier and more violent than she appears.

She more than anyone would know that there's often more to people than meets the eye, and hence would be the one to point out the need for wiretaps, logs of web searches, etc. until they had a "constant feed of every single child on Earth" if they wanted to know what the each child in the world was truly like.

#animaniacs #animaniacs 2020 #yakko warner #wakko warner #dot warner #okay so i did like season 3 it was good but this was my favourite episode #i think because when i was growing up all Christmas specials where about how the main character HAD to help santa and save Christmas #and when they went to do it i was overwhelmed with this super nostalgic feeling #and then they where like well we would but how about we dont #and idk to me thats an origional take on an overdone holiday plot so i ate that up #also it was one of the only songs where all the warners sang #and i liked how it wasn’t just a fun song or a moral song it was a mix #cause here comes the sea was good but the polar bear sang most of it #where this reminded me more of a quake which i was obsessed with when i was smol #i have had it in my head for over a week like to the point where I couldn’t sleep #and it is on YouTube but its in two parts so you bet im just yo yo ing between the two videos till Spotify uploads season 3s soundtrack #the warners #WB kids #Steven speilberg cartoons #oh i love these little puppy monkey children #oh i have also decided that yakkos favourite subject seems to be science and dots seem to be politics and social justice #and then wakko doesnt really hav an academic side but if he did it probably be maths because he seems to be very good with measurements #yakko wakko and dot #SoundCloud

I think now Audrey needs one episode only comedic suitor, someone she can't even take seriously but a) he helps her feel lighter cause G wasn't the last chance ; b) Siegfried at this stage of revelation would take somewhat seriously any male attention towards Audrey.

#this is the only plot i care about tbh #acgas 2020 #all creatures great and small #tristan farnon #siegfried farnon #i do hate how much they (the writers) force these conversations but this portion of it does feel natural #THIS is showing and not telling #idk #it would feel better to me if more of their arguments were dancing around the subject #instead of directly saying it #like they are here when siegfried doesn't say what he would have done differently with tristan #but we all obviously know #if they had built up to the argument in the S3 christmas special it would have hit better #not that it doesn't hit #just #it would have been a release of tension #a real good catharsis #instead of just one fight among many #as it is there's nothing that really sets it apart other than siegfried telling tristan that he loves him and would die for him #the rest of it just feels like old hat #but this moment (since i'm getting off track) is really good #part of why the rest doesn't ring true i think is because tristan is like 30 #like that shit should be properly internalized by now #'you like that kid better than me :(' shut up!! you should be getting pissy with him for unrelated reasons #and so repressed about it that you have no clue of the true cause!#until you reach this moment and it comes pouring out!#anyways i do have to go to work now #ignore literally everything i've said here
