Christmas Drabble 3/25

The wind screamed through the mountain pass, snow blasting against Clint’s face as he trudged forward. His bow, useless in the storm, was strapped across his back, and every step felt heavier as the snow piled up around them.

“Are you sure we’re even moving?” Natasha shouted over the wind, her voice muffled by the thick scarf wrapped around her face.

“Moving, yeah,” Clint called back, squinting through the whiteout. “In the right direction? No idea.”

Her exasperated sigh was lost to the storm, but before Clint could offer a sarcastic apology, a dark shape loomed ahead.

“Cabin!” he yelled, relief surging through him.

Natasha squinted, then nodded, quickening her pace. They reached the small, weather-beaten structure in minutes, but their relief was short-lived. Snow had piled up against the door, almost burying it.

“Great,” Natasha muttered, yanking her gloves tighter. “Guess we’re digging.”

Clint dropped to his knees, his gloved hands plunging into the packed snow. It was hard work, the icy wind biting at any exposed skin as they scooped away handfuls of snow. Natasha worked beside him, her breaths coming in sharp bursts of white mist.

The door groaned under Clint’s first shove, refusing to budge. “Stuck,” he grunted, leaning his shoulder into it.

Natasha narrowed her eyes, crouching beside him. “Move.” She pressed her hands against the wood, bracing herself. “Together?”

“On three,” Clint said. “One, two—”

“Three!”

They shoved, the door creaking violently as the snow began to give way. With a final heave, it burst open, sending both of them stumbling into the cabin, Natasha landing on top of Clint in an undignified heap.

“Well, that was graceful,” Clint said, his voice muffled against the floorboards.

“Shut up,” Natasha muttered, rolling off him and sitting up. She shoved the door closed, barricading it with an old chair they found nearby. “At least it’s warmer in here.”

The cabin was dark and cold, but it was shelter. Clint dug through his pack, pulling out a flare. “Romantic lighting, anyone?”

Natasha snorted, taking it from him and igniting it in the tiny stone fireplace. The glow flickered to life, and while it wasn’t much, it was enough to chase the worst of the cold away.

They huddled under a shared emergency blanket, their backs against the wall. “Well,” Natasha said dryly, “Merry Christmas.”

Clint chuckled, shaking his head. “Merry Christmas, Nat. Next time, I’m picking the holiday spot.”

“Yeah,” she murmured, resting her head against his shoulder. “Somewhere warm.”

The storm raged on outside, but inside, they found a flicker of warmth—and hope.

Dean knew you weren't a fan of holidays but he didn't need a fuss over Christmas, he had you. Hence the surprise when he walked into the bunker to find it decorated with lights, a tree and the table in the library lined with baked goods.

"Sweetheart?" He called out and you slid around the corner in a grinch pj set "Merry Christmas Winchester" he looked around before looking back at you "What's all this?"

You shrugged "I wanted you to have a real Christmas" he shook his head before pulling you into his arms "You're amazing" "I know"

You enter the apartment with the last bags of presents. The place is festive: snowmen and reindeer, hearts, and candles waiting to be lit. It would have been perfect if Steve had been there too.

Right away you put on the radio to drown out the silence as you set to work wrapping the last things before packing for your trip home for Christmas.

There was the smallest smear of whipped cream at the corner of Sabrina Spellman’s red lips, horribly tempting and deliciously enticing. Lilith couldn’t take her eyes off Sabrina’s mouth as they sat across from one another in the booth at Dr. Cee’s malt shop. 

The season’s first snow had turned Greendale into a winter wonderland, so the pair decided to celebrate with a cup of hot chocolate. 

Sabrina was talking, something about her aunts and cousin and the upcoming holiday plans, but Lilith wasn’t listening. She was too distracted, single minded and focused on her girlfriend’s mouth. 

Finally, she leaned across the table, fingers curling around Sabrina’s jaw as she kissed away the whipped cream, then, pressed a warm kiss to Sabrina’s mouth, cutting her off mid sentence.

With a smirk, Lilith sat back in her seat and licked her lips, “Peppermint.”

Btw, some notes, Gaz upgraded the tank to a 100 gallon with a hang on back filter and an air pump powered sponge filter. He also put in some Christmas moss to provide some live plants and has a sand bottom substrate. Gaz only upgraded to the big tank a month after setting up the rescue tank and used the filter media from the first tank to be able to jump-start the cycling process on the second tank, because he's a responsible fish dad.

While I'm at it! A few fish facts:

Every fish (including goldfish and betta fish) need a filter

A betta fish also need a heater, but goldfish is a cold water fish so that means it's fine at room temperature or cooler (think koi ponds)

A betta fish needs a 5g tank minimum, but goldfish get way bigger than betta fish. A single goldfish needs a minimum of twenty gallons, and each additional goldfish needs an additional 10 gallons of space

Speaking of how much space goldfish need, they need a lot because they can easily grow to be a foot long in length. The reason they don't get so big in bowls is because they either die young or they are crushed to death over time by their internal organs growing but their bodies not being able to grow bigger because of the size of their containers (or at least this is what I've been told)

Most goldfish die young. They can easily live to be 20 years old, but many can also live much longer. They are related to koi (which is a big point to make because goldfish and koi are both species of carp!), which easily live to be 100 years old in proper care

Why am I saying all this? Because if you can, please take proper care of your fish. Please get a large enough aquarium for your fish. And as I said, every aquarium needs a filter. EVERY FISH NEEDS A FILTER AND A PROPER AQUARIUM, NOT A BOWL.

In fact, there's a trend amongst goldfish keepers where many people don't keep any substrate (because goldfish can accidentally eat the substrate and get sick) or plants (goldfish tend to eat the plants), though this is currently being challenged by some aquarists.

Also, goldfish are very messy eaters so they need frequent water changes to keep their water clean and healthy for them.

Don't keep your fish like Soap. Be a good fish parent like Gaz.

You knew Emily was visiting her grandparents on Carla’s side this Christmas.

You knew this man gave of himself to everyone in his world, radiating that golden sunshine energy.

Still, there were shades of melancholy in between the brighter rays.

When you went to him, he welcomed you in a familiar, comfortable seat across his lap. When your fingers interlaced with his, Beau’s smile rang true.

Years after the War that upended Hero Society, these three men have helped rebuild a path to Pro Heroism for the next generation, tentatively heralding a new era of hope. But there’s danger lurking in this rebuilt world, danger that has the power to rekindle old fears and usher in new resentments, and as the trio branch out to find and end these threats, they each encounter a new challenge along the way—colliding with someone unexpected, and falling in love.

(A Pro Hero x Reader Trilogy; in which falling in love is a random chance all at once chaotic and exhilarating and incredible, for each of the Big Three)

The premise is simple: three heroes, three fics, and three different lives to live. Named for the Katy Perry song, The One That Got Away, the In Another Life trilogy was originally intended to be a series of five stand-alone fics that evolved, fairly quickly, into what we have today: three interconnected stories that let our Reader-inserts move throughout the My Hero Academia world, and eventually find where—and who with—they belong.

Started in 2020 when the manga was still on-going, the fics have diverged from the canon Horikoshi’s given us both in small and large ways. Despite where they separate (and where the fics have to stay faithful to their own canon, now), it’s always been my hope that they read like the love letters they are—to My Hero, to the boys, and to x reader fic at large.

“Clint,” Natasha said, voice dripping with exasperation, “why is there a candy cane hanging upside down next to a glittery star and a reindeer missing one leg?”

“It’s called balance,” Clint shot back, hands on his hips like he was presenting a masterpiece. “You wouldn’t understand. Artists like me are misunderstood.”

“Misunderstood is one word for it,” she muttered, plucking the unfortunate reindeer off the branch and relocating it. “This is a crime against Christmas trees.”

“Hey! That reindeer has sentimental value,” Clint protested, stepping forward to snatch it back. “Do you know how hard it is to find one-legged ornaments?”

Natasha raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. “I’m sure your extensive collection of tacky decorations will survive.” She gestured to the box of ornaments beside him. “Why don’t you try using more than one branch for all your ‘art’?”

“You know,” he said, pulling out a tangle of lights, “when I invited you to decorate this tree, I thought it’d be fun. Festive. Full of holiday cheer. Instead, I’m getting judged by the Christmas police.”

“Not police,” she corrected, carefully draping a garland across the tree. “More like a Christmas SWAT team. Someone has to save this poor tree from you.”

Clint grinned and threw the string of lights around his neck like a scarf. “Admit it, Romanoff. Deep down, you love my style. It’s got character.”

“If by character, you mean chaos,” she deadpanned, stepping in to fix the lights he had just tossed haphazardly over a branch. “Honestly, Barton, how did you ever survive without me?”

“Pure charm,” he quipped, watching her rearrange his handiwork yet again. “And maybe a little luck.”

She paused, turning to him with an amused smirk. “Must be the luck. Your charm certainly isn’t working.”

Clint laughed, leaning against the wall and watching her transform the tree into something genuinely beautiful. “Merry Christmas, Nat,” he said, softer now.

She glanced at him, her smile softening too. “Merry Christmas, Clint. Now grab another ornament. And try not to mess it up.”

“No promises.”

The fire crackled quietly in the background, the tree glowing warmly in the dim light. Their voices filled the room, soft and teasing, the kind of exchange that only came from years of knowing exactly how far to push.

Your phone ringing jolted you out of your sleep. You fumbled for it before pulling it to your ear, the voice that wrapped around you made your heart skip a beat "Hey sweetheart". "Hey Dean" you could hear him swallow hard before he finally said "I know I have messed up a lot but I love you with everything I have. Come home. Let's not be alone on Christmas. We can fix this, please" "Do you want me or to not be alone?" "You" you blinked back tears before saying "I'll be home tonight"

Imagine it's Christmas, a party is held at Freddy's and Henry and William both had too much to drink. Their friendly and teasy banter was of course a constant companion throughout the night.

A bit later William goes outside to smoke, getting away from the crowd and all the noise they cause, his head starts to hurt from all the alcohol. Henry of course follows after him.

They continue to tease each other and joke around, their jokes only turning more and more inappropriate as time goes on.

William jokes that if Henry won't shut up that he'll make him. Henry raises his eyebrows and gives William a challenging look. He knows William wouldn't hurt him and since he can be pretty stubborn he also thinks that William won't get him to shut up without some sort of fight.

William looks at Henry, the buzzing feeling of the alcohol running through his system drowning out any ratiknal thoughts he might has as he throws his cigarette into the snow. He steps closer, giving Henry another warning.

The shorter man doesn't take it seriously and with one last jab from Henry's side he suddenly finds himself pinned against the wall, arms above his head, his hands meeting the cold stone. A small, startled noise leaves him that William quickly captures with his lips.

Henry is left stunned for a moment before kissing back.

William let's out a soft groan into the kiss, pleased that Henry is returning the slowly building passion.

He releases Henry's wrists in favour of holding his waist and Henry tangles his fingers in Williams hair, pulling him impossibly closer to his own lips.

Once they break apart both men a breathing heavily. They stare at each other for a moment before William smiles slightly.

"Made you to shut up."
