it's half an hour to christmas day here. it's been... a lot better than i expected, so far. in no small part thanks to the good mood you put me in. now i'm in the mood for mince pies :)

visiting christmas markets! there aren't many big ones around where i live, but they're beautiful, and i always come away with a trinket or two, for myself or as a gift. i love getting to wrap up warm, try new food, drink hot chocolate, and look at the amazing creations of the sellers!

2) Favorite Traditional Christmas song?

'Silent Night'. it feels like a lullaby

3) Favorite Modern Christmas song?

i actually don't know what it's called -- i hardly know any lyrics, only the melody, really -- but i thinnkk? at least have only started hearing it?? this season. it's a really upbeat, fun one, not too aggressively christmas and just... nice to the ears

4) Favorite Christmas movie(s)?

'That Christmas', an animated one which released very recently this year. i'm not big into typical christmas movies because all the sappy romance just isn't my thing, and i much prefer when a media creates another world to explore instead of people moving about this one

i particularly enjoyed it for 1) being a different medium, and 2) focusing on themes of family, community, and friendship with only a small romance subplot. technically, it's set as close to me as i've seen anything get, but being animation helps it feel very different from reality for me

5) Favorite Christmas episode (any tv show)?

thinking about it now, i can't actually recall any shows i'm particularly into having christmas episodes? the one thing that sticks out to me is a special short for a film trilogy instead: 'Gift of the Night Fury', for the HTTYD films. it's just a great vibe and a wholesome story for my favourite films of all time

as far as the HTTYD shows go, there was a midnight sun episode, but it wasn't very christmas themed lol

6) Favorite food to eat or serve for the Christmas meal?

tough choice, but i've loved pigs in blankets since i was little, and i don't think they're going to stop being a staple for me anytime soon. (i don't know how widespread they are, so for clarification: they're mini sausages wrapped in bacon)

7) Favorite Christmas beverage or dessert?

every christmas morning, we bake pastries to eat while opening presents. usually croissants, pain au chocolate, and maple pecan plaits, which are all my favourites. well, the past few months have brought on a new appreciation for pecan plaits, but they've never not been nice. i look forward to it each year

that counts as dessert, right?

8) Most memorable Christmas gift you received as a child?

2 years ago, when i was 16 (still a minor, eh?), was my first christmas without my sister, so i got extra... investment, shall we say? my mother got me an ipad pro, and i've been using it almost daily since. definitely worth it, and has changed my life dramatically;

it's led me to finding my stride as an artist, which has in turn brought me into wonderful communities, and has most recently enabled me to start creating short films, and finally bring the stories that have lived in me, waiting to burst since i was little, to life

so, yeah, a memorable christmas gift for sure

that and the electric quadbike i got when i was around 7 or 8 xD had so much fun with that thing

9) Best Christmas gift you ever gave to anyone?

i always try to give personal and thought-out gifts at every opportunity because my previous friends would just give me the same impersonal sweets each time. i always want others to feel that they're cared for and paid attention to. that makes it hard to pick something in particular, but i'm hoping one i'm giving my closest friend this year will be a good one

it's a glow-in-the-dark 3D-printed shark. my friend loves, among other things, sea life, particularly sharks, but also has a very intense fear of the dark. it breaks my heart to see how they suffer, and this year brought a particularly bad incident that freaked us both out. so, i'm hoping this little guy will be a comfort for them, because he'll be a light source even if the electricity gets knocked out, and a reminder that i'm with them even at the scariest times

10) If you have a Christmas tree, what's your tree topper?

a silver glittery star :) it's hollow, so we can fit a light in there and have it shine. i was very proud to upgrade from standing on a chair to put it on the tree to barely tip-toeing, lmao

11) What's your favorite version of Santa in a movie?

again, i don't really watch christmas movies, but i like a santa with some sass and dry humour. it makes his scenes more interesting, and can create interesting dynamics with other characters

if i had to pick one particular santa, i would say the Rise of the Guardians version. he's cool

12) Which fictional character would you like to be caught under the mistletoe with?

The road stretched endlessly ahead, blanketed in a soft layer of snow. It was beautiful, but after hours in the car, the charm of the winter landscape had long worn off. You shifted in your seat, trying to find a more comfortable position, and glanced over at Connor, who was focused on the road. His hands gripped the steering wheel loosely, and the soft hum of holiday music played in the background.

“How much longer?” you asked, your voice filled with fatigue.

Connor shot you a sympathetic smile.

“GPS says another two hours, but with this snow… could be a bit more.”

You groaned, leaning your head against the cold window.

“Remind me again why we didn’t fly?”

“Because somebody,” he teased, glancing at you with a mischievous grin, “said they wanted to experience a ‘classic road trip.’”

You couldn’t help but laugh despite your frustration.

“Yeah, well, I didn’t account for holiday traffic or winter storms.”

Connor chuckled, his laughter warm and comforting.

“Don’t worry. I’ve got this.”

He reached over and squeezed your hand, his thumb brushing lightly over your knuckles. The simple gesture calmed you instantly, a reminder that no matter how stressful the trip was, you were in this together.

To lighten the mood, Connor started telling stories from past family Christmases, like the time his dog knocked over the Christmas tree or when his little sister opened every present under the tree before anyone else woke up. His laughter was contagious, and soon you were giggling along with him, the tension of the journey melting away.

When traffic came to a standstill an hour later, Connor didn’t miss a beat. He pulled out a bag of snacks from the back seat and offered you your favorite candy.

“Think of this as a pit stop,” he said with a wink. “Minus the actual stopping part.”

You rolled your eyes but accepted the candy, grateful for his optimism.

As the hours ticked by, Connor kept you entertained. He sang (terribly) to Christmas carols, challenged you to games like “I Spy,” and even made up ridiculous scenarios about the lives of the other travelers stuck in traffic with you.

By the time you finally pulled into his parents’ driveway, the exhaustion of the day was forgotten. The house was lit up with twinkling lights, and the warm glow from the windows made it feel like stepping into a Christmas card.

Connor turned to you, his blue eyes soft.

“Ready?”

You nodded, but before you could get out of the car, he leaned over and kissed you gently. It was a quiet, tender moment, the kind that made your heart ache in the best way.

“Thanks for putting up with the world’s longest trip,” he said with a smile.

“Thanks for making it bearable,” you replied, your voice full of affection.

As you walked hand in hand toward the house, you realized that it didn’t matter how long or stressful the journey was. As long as Connor was with you, the destination was always worth it.

and beomgyu, who trots over to you in the kitchen with a mischievous smile as the snowy rain pitter patters against the windowpane, watching attentively while he laces his fingers around your tummy, allowing you to pull him around the kitchen as you cook. and sometimes, he'd sneak a handful of flour while you're too busy paying attention to the stove— blowing a cloud onto your face and clutching his stomach as he falls to the ground, laughing as a pair of unimpressed eyes on a white, blank face stare back. and he returns with a wet towel, wiping your face and cooing at how cute you look, always so easy to annoy.

and snowy nights where he refuses to leave the house, cuddling up into a human burrito in one of those blankets that look like flatbread— grounded on his spot on the couch as you pull and tug his legs, fully clothed in warm clothes. and sometimes, he sends a kick to your grip around his ankles, making you fall flat on your behind with the weight of your layers. and he giggles at you and your lost face, before realizing he's supposedly giving you the silent treatment, and goes back to focusing on the television. and you stand to your feet, unzipping your jacket(s) and lean over from behind the couch, wrapping your arms around him. and you start peppering him with kisses, mumbling in between how you wish you could spend chrismas eve with him outside, running your fingers through his hair and letting your nose brush against his as you lean in for another kiss. and you'd get the boy dizzy— lips curling into a hazy smile as he nods, standing to his feet to get a jacket and a beanie, hearts circling around his head like a birds do around a cartoon character.

and you'd wake up a snowy morning to beomgyu lazily pressing a peck to your forehead, eyebrows furrowed as he whispered something about running an errand. and you just shrugged, glancing over to the clock blinking 4AM as you turned over and fell back asleep. and then waking up hours later to texts from beomgyu — a picture of an obnoxious penis drawn on the neighbors car in the snow, and a grumpy text that ended with a period, stating breakfast would be late because of the traffic he's stuck in.

and beomgyu's loud voice echoing in the house as he played games on his computer, the fresh scent of cookie dough wafting around his room as he stuffed his face with the gingerbread cookies you were baking. and him wearing a small christmas hat, the white pom-pom drooping over the side of his head as he screamed “VICTORY!!!!!” and standing to his feet to wiggle a small dance— stopping mid dance to see you, standing by the doorframe with a camera and a cookie in your hand.

and you tricking beomgyu— knowing a game he wanted for the longest time and purposely packing socks into a box the perfect size of his gift, so it appeared as if you got him what he wanted. and you pulled out a video camera as he tore open the wrapping paper, the expression on his face dropping as he pulled out a pair of socks with ramen designs on them, asking him eagerly, “WHAT DO YOU THINK?” and you'd stifle your giggles as you'd record him trying to give you a happy face, masking his disappointment with fake enthusiasm, “its— it's the perfect size.....” and you'd tell him to look behind the couch, following him as he'd glance behind and see a console he was trying to save for months, holding his gift while his jaw went slack, “WHERE DID YOU GET THIS!?”

and beomgyu squeezing you through a huge crowd so you'd be able to see the countdown to new years— his hands gripping yours tightly as he shot you back smiles and whispered jokes only you could hear, his warm breath and stupid humor making you crack up and receive looks from people around, but it's not like the both of you cared about that besides each other.

and watching the fireworks with beomgyu— him whispering that's, “exactly what my farts look like,” and watching you with heart shaped pupils, laughing at his childish jokes, slapping his arm in attempts to shut him up and clutching your stomach. and maybe grabbing ice cream afterwards, him wiping his ice cream off his nose after every lick and offering you one— and pushing it to your face as you came closer for a taste, making your entire mouth wet from the ice cream. and he'd laugh and click photos of you while you stood with a poker face, glancing to the cashier pressing their lips together as they stifled a chuckle.

and beomgyu, who'd take pictures of the two of you in matching hello kitty pajamas and making you his profile picture on every platform. just beomgyu, who secretly loves to watch your features relax as you drift off to sleep while you hide your face in his neck. the snow was drizzling and blurry blobs of fairy lights blinked outside the window, as his fingers rubbed the skin on your hips— tuning out the boring christmas specials to focus on you, falling asleep in his arms.

17. Did any books surprise you with how good they were?

Not really… maybe Path of Vengeance (Star Wars: The High Republic) because it was a fun read and not as bad as I expected lol.

Working on a chrismas card for my family and I find myself questioning my entire relationship with them, because I'm going the extra mile to make it extra beautiful because gifting them a work of art of mine that isn't beautiful is considered unloving by them. I remeber my mom yelling at me when I was six or seven because she said I'd drawn her to look like a pig. She asked me if that was really how I saw her. They've always been supportive of my art and told me it was beautiful, but I can't help but feel anxious working on this, wondering if they'll hate it, because I keep adding "traditional" Chrismas symbols, like reindeer and holly and stuff, struggling hard to find symbols universal enough because our country doesn't have any particularly unique Chrismas symbolism and I don't want to add snowflakes or wintery stuff (I feel like i'm already stretching it with the reindeer) because it's summer here, and I'm scared the holly and stuff will read as "foreign USamerican symbolism", and they hate anything USamerican. They also hate religion so angels and stuff are out the window, and there are only so many stars I can add.

So I'm here agonizing over whether or not they'll be offended if I give them this, and I just... why am I worrying about this? They were horrible to me! I spent my entire childhood feeling anxious and depressed and hating myself because nothing was ever good enough for them, because they always got angry, threatened me, destroyed my stuff, invaded my privacy, violated every boundary, publicly humilliated me, destroyed my self-esteem... and I still wasted all of my scholarship money on something I HOPE they will like, even if I also fear they'll be offended when they get it (it's a board game they've wanted for ages, but I already gave my dad a board game for fathers' day and I'm scared they'll notice the repetition and call me lazy and accuse me of not loving them, because if I loved them, I would have been more imaginative with my gifts). And now I'm agonizing over whether or not they'll be angry to see reindeer on the chrismas card I'll be sending them.

I'm just... really glad I'll be spending chrismas with a college friend and his family. Honestly, that family has been my lifeline for two years, I have no idea how to thank them, I just had no idea it was possible to feel anything but anxiety and guilt and shame during family celebrations before meeting them. I'm glad my family is thousands of miles away. I'm glad my girlfriend is here with me. I have a lot of things to be thankful for, but for some reason I can't let go of my family and stop worrying about them being mad at me. I'd rather die than making them mad at me.

Here is my opinion on this OAV

The advantage is that we better place Oropo, and possibly other eliotrop, in the world chronology.

I feel this episode is more a frame from what is coming up. Oropo, as some of the other presenters in this oav, will be in season 4 it's been years that Tot add confirmed it.

AND confirmed a theory that was in debate between the last episode of season 1 and the revelation of Qilby in season 2: the voice cube real or not? Qilby or N (basically he was THE rebellious child at the time (before he erased from history))?

Feel like an appetizer, sufficient enough. I mean looking back at others OAV like Ogrest or Noximilien you don't learn much from them either. Well, except Ogrest if you don't play any of Ankama game. But each give a bit more soul of the character seeing their turning point by their eyes. That's why you don't learn anything if you are relieving a memory are you explaining every detail? No, you're not Mr. Exposition in it.

Come on, I have a big problem with this OAV and I can’t have it. It is seen that IOW is now supposed to no longer be canon, the reasons why Chibi is alive let’s go to the trash. Because if IOW was still canon, that would be a bastard move from Chibi. I summarize in IOW, everyone is talking about the death of Chibi, it is even the basic of the tensions between his siblings. Mina grief, Nora birth, Qilby and Yugo tension, possibly Glip culpability.

And there we find in all the chaos of the conflict a fake skeleton which is supposed to be the skeleton of Chibi. And we must not forget that Chibi is presented as a prophet, someone who can see the future. So if IOW canon, Chibi on Oma when Oreo and the others arrive would mean that Chibi saw what was going to happen to his people, and even the whole world has seen the vision of the cube with Oreo. But he did not care, he preferred to pretend to be dead, recover the cube on the ashes of his family.

every year at chrismas and only at chirsmas my dad makes eton mess (whipped cream with berries and meringue) and theres just something so summery about it even if it's never quiiiiiite as good as i remember

potential christmas card – what’s your favorite fallen london festival? this is... really difficult actually! i love getting new companions, so it's probably between whitsun, hallowmas and the feast of the rose (with chrismas not far behind, just for vibes)

whitsun is a little too slow-paced for me, and the companions all being animals gets a bit same-y? i still enjoy it a lot, but those do hold it back. the feast of the rose is cool, and absolutely LOVE some of the companions it's added (crimson captain and intrepid deacon my beloveds) but i think the menace grinding and confession-management mean hallowmas ekes it out for most enjoyable?

1) DOGDAY X CATNAP

I LOVE IT! It's the classic sun and moon dynamic and if there's a trope i love in ship dymanics is the polar oposites, light x dark, bad x good, black x withe, i just ADORE it!. And depending on what version of these two you use this could be either so sad that i'll die (Game version) or so sweet that i'll end up with diabetes (cartoon version). ALSO THEY COULD TEACH EACHOTHER SO MUCH, like Catnap could learn to open up more to people thanks to Dogday, and Dogday could lear to rest propely and take care of himself as much as he takes care of others thanks to Catnap! SO CUTE AND I'LL LOVE IT!

2) BUBBA X BOBBY

Neutral. Not much to say to be honest, i haven't actually seen anything about this ship so i'm not sure of how their dynamic would be, i imagine something similar to the nerd x sweet girl or something like that; a slow burn where i think Bubba would fall first thanks to how sweet Bobby is, and his tries to win Bobby's heart in a subtle way end uo working with time. I undertand the appeal and it could be quite cute, but it's not really for me i think

3) BOBBY X HOPPY

Once more, i undertand the appeal, it's like the jock x nurse (becouse of course Bobby would take care of minor injuries herself, if she can't then she'll bring up Bubba). They are very cute indeed, and once more i can see them slowly falling in love with eachother, and dispite not minding it, i'm not activly looking for it either. Neutral (closer to good)

(Also i can't see them and think on Chrismas you all, they are literally red and green)

4) CATNAP X HOPPY

I don't think it would work, at all. In the others i could see scenarios were they falled for eachother but Catnap and Hoppy? They are the kind of opposites that just woudn't work togheter. I think that dispite not hating eachother, they aren't really close either. I could see them become better friends if forced to have an adventure togheter and undertand eachother in a better way, but never it escalating to a romantic relationship. So Nah, i don't like it, that doesn't mean you can't, tho!

5) HOPPY X KICKINCHIKEN

I mean, maybe? It could be! Like, they would be for sure rivals to lovers if paired like this. Like they would be all the time fighting eachother to see who is best, but in a frendly way, with the time they would bond to grow closer, and maybe it could end up in them as parthners (the first to fall would be Kickin). Once more, i see the appeal but it's not for me, i see them more as best friends-rivals

6) BUBBA X KICKENCHIKEN

I ADORE IT!!!! I just LOVE the popular x nerd trope! And they fit it perfectly!!! Kicking would be the cool guy that ends ups falling for the nerd (Bubba) and tries to become his boyfriend, with the most stupid ass flirting you will EVER see. I'm talking about bad pick up lines, even worse jokes, stupid mistakes while traying to look cool, traying so hard to not look nerveous that it's obvious you are, but dispite the constant failure he never gives up and tries everyday to win Bubba's heart. Bubba at first finding it wierd, but slowly finding Kickin's stupid behavior funny and charming, without realizing aiming to see him again every day, still traying to get the elephant to become his boyfriend. Eventually it works and Bubba accepts Kickin's offer.

7) BOBBY X CATNAP

yes but no. In paper it sounds great, silent guy that has a soft side for his sweet girlfriend that somehow managed to make him fall in love with her due her sweet and caring behavior. But then, there's something that i feel would end up ruining the relationship; their love lenguages. Becouse you see, due how reserved Catnap seems to be, i don't think he is a big fan of physical touch, sure he can tolerate some amount (and even enjoy some light physical touch) but he would rather do servicial acts as a way to show his love rather then doing it in a physical or verbal way. For example, he might not say 'i love you' every day to his lover, but he will make them a nice cup of their favorite tea flavor, even if their never told him that's their favorite. He will notice tiny details about them and remembering every single word that camed out their mouth.

While with Bobby, physical affection is a must, It's her favorite way to show love! Are they going to sleep? Bobby will cuddle them all night and there's no way out of it. Are they walking or just sitting somewhere togheter? Bobby is holding their hand all the time and will not let go for longer then 10 minutes. Are they watching a movie? Bobby is either with her head on their parthner's shoulder or scooping them for a hug for the whole movie. Catnap would find this constant touch annoying and unconfortable, while Bobby would feel not only guilty for it, but also will feel distant with him without this constant touch. So For me they woudn't work as a couple, just like friends.

Neutral, not sure were did it camed off from or what's the appeal to be honest. I can't think of a dynamic for them So, yhea, not for me but i don't see why not
