Part of my working method for Sites of Memory is to visit friends and thus get a semi random spread of memorials. Sites of Memory looks at Britain and Germany’s response to WW1. The top image is a #Jewish cemetery in the #Bavarian countryside. The memorial is to the 11 lads who never came home to Germany. It’s very typical of German memorials, with individual headstones. The image below is a monument to the officers of the then fashionable #Brandenburg regiment and now sits next to a needle exchange and opposite the #Helmutnewton centre in #berlin.
