My thoughts on the current ipl points table that absolutely no one asked for :
(part-1)
Tumblr media
1. They're the og champions...very chill, very fun vibes.
soo happy to see them on top. They really be feeling like royalty rn lol.
Also in the end, I'm just a girl 🎀💖 some I absolutely adore their jersey.
2. Yaar.... I know Hyderabad is a great team and everything but.... Do you guys have to go this hard?
Other teams come to play a match, this team comes to crack open your morale and bring you to your knees.
Baki teams khel rahi hai, Yeh log toh seedha gunda gardi kar rahe hai Yaar.
Watching Abhishek, our Indian player, a youngster, bat like that feels amazing tho.
3. Kolkata.... Man.
Gautam bhai aaye, and suddenly Sabka Chris Gayle bahar aagya.
I feel like sunil will take both purple and orange caps this year and gambhir bhai has already planned on picking the trophy this year so... Yea.
PS : once gautam bhai is done someone pls convince him to come as ICT's coach.
4. Chennai = 7 letters = thala for a reason.
They're doing great, but their recent performances makes me worried about what will happen to this team when Mahi Bhai retires.
If they don't start taking more responsibility now there's a good chance csk will crash land in the bottom next year. Hope thT doesn't happen tho.
5. LSG, you beauty....
They look like they are a weak team but they've defeated rcb, gt, pbks and...sabse importantly.... CSK.
But their next matches are quite tough too... So we'll see where they end up after 2 - 3 more matches.
The way kl Rahul hits sixes is just beautiful.
6. Mumbai.
I...... Have no idea what mysterious substance this management was on tbh.
If you want to remove someone from the captaincy, there's gotta be a better way to do that so the fans aren't offended and the player also isn't disrespected. Look how kohli left rcb's captaincy for example.
Then, if you wanted to look towards the future, Bumrah and Surya, both who have captained team India and have stayed with the franchise despite having so many opportunities to earn more if they leave should have been considered.
Or they could have just choosen Ishan. Just like csk and gt choose youngsters, Ishan could have been a good option too. Plus He's captained his team during u-19 in 2016.
But no. They choose Hardik.
Tbh, I feel so sorry for him cause in his mind, when MI offered him captaincy and called him back, he would have been happy to go back to his old team...like going back home.
But the sad truth is, MI management saw how successful he was in gt, winning in the first year and then reaching the finals in 2nd year....and it pissed them off that their player is doing well in some other team. So they brought him back.
Despite so much backlash from fans, so much hatred and trolling against Hardik, this shitty management never held one press conference to clear up misunderstandings and give answers to their fans honestly. Because they knew, if the truth comes out, they'll be on the receiving end of this hate.
Fuck them.
The only mistake Hardik did was leaving gt. But... Oh well.
(I ended up ranting lol.)

Which Player Hit The Longest Six In Cricket History?
Tumblr media
It's no surprise that huge blockbusters thrill audiences and spark discussions for years to come. It's interesting to note that a number of experts and former cricket players have said that such huge hits deserve more recognition. However, these concerns have never been given any weight because of the accuracy and dependability of technology, which is continuously being evaluated when measuring such distances. However, Albert Trott struck the longest unrecorded six in cricket in 1899 at the Lord's during a Test match against Australia. He had hit a sixer that traveled over 120-125 meters after smashing Monty Noble. Cricket has not yet begun to collect comprehensive statistics, though.
Cricket’s Fascination With Sixes
Due to the rising need for sixes in modern cricket, big-hitters like Shahid Afridi, MS Dhoni, Chris Gayle, and others have become iconic and enthralled spectators with their power-hitting. Additionally, as T20 cricket and competitions like the Indian Premier League (IPL) have emerged, the cricket ball is moving farther and farther ahead. However, one of the most famous longest-sixes in cricket history was Shahid Afridi's enormous six in 2013. Afridi demonstrated his formidable batting ability by sending the ball into the stratosphere during an ODI match between South Africa and Pakistan at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. Many claim it didn't go very far, however in Johannesburg, Shahid Afridi did record a six that traveled 153 meters which was enough to be called the longest six in cricket history.
The Boom Boom Magic
At Wanderers Stadium, which is renowned for its high elevation and ideal circumstances for massive shots, Afridi's six reached heights that were never explored before. Afridi unleashed his power and sent the ball flying out of Wanderers Stadium for the game's biggest six after McLaren produced a length ball in the 35th over of the run chase. Afridi's shot left his opponents stunned and the onlookers in amazement because of its incredible timing and power. The ball's trajectory and the sound of the collision demonstrated Afridi's ability to hit the cricket ball a great distance. It is important to remember that determining the precise distance of a six in cricket is frequently difficult and subject to variation. As one of the longest sixes in sports history, the 153-meter estimate in this instance highlights how exceptional Afridi's smash was. However, Pakistan lost the match by 34 runs, despite Afridi's spectacular 88 runs off of just 48 balls in an attempt to match South Africa's impressive 344.
Afridi, popularly known as "Boom Boom" Afridi, became well-known for his aggressive and entertaining style of play in addition to his ability to smash huge hits. He captivated cricket fans with a number of spectacular performances during his career, helping Pakistan win matches across formats. In cricket, long-distance sixes like Afridi's are cherished moments that perfectly encapsulate the thrill and unpredictable nature of the game. By demonstrating the strength and talent of the batters, who can propel the ball over considerable distances, they heighten the excitement of the match.

Royal Challengers Bangalore: A Journey Through the IPL Seasons
Tumblr media
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is one of the most popular franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Known for their passionate fan base, star-studded line-ups, and thrilling performances, RCB’s journey through the IPL seasons has been a rollercoaster ride filled with highs and lows. Here’s a comprehensive look at RCB’s journey through the IPL seasons.
Stay updated on the RCB Team Players List for the IPL, with detailed squad information and the playing schedule, in our extensive guide RCB Team Players List.
2008: The Inaugural Season
RCB had a rocky start in the inaugural IPL season. Despite having legendary players like Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, and Jacques Kallis, they finished seventh in the eight-team tournament. The team struggled to find the right balance and consistency, winning only four out of 14 matches.
2009: Runners-Up
Under the captaincy of Anil Kumble, RCB made a remarkable turnaround in the 2009 season, which was held in South Africa due to the general elections in India. The team finished third in the league stage and reached the final, losing to Deccan Chargers by six runs. Ross Taylor and Manish Pandey were among the standout performers.
2010: Semi-Finalists
RCB continued their strong performance in 2010, finishing third in the league stage. They made it to the semi-finals but were defeated by the Mumbai Indians. The season saw Virat Kohli emerge as a key player for the team alongside star performers like Jacques Kallis and Robin Uthappa.
2011: Finalists
The 2011 season was another strong showing for RCB. Led by Daniel Vettori, and with the explosive Chris Gayle joining the squad, they finished top of the league table. Gayle’s incredible batting, including his 175* against Pune Warriors, was a highlight. However, they fell short in the final against Chennai Super Kings.
2012-2013: Struggles and Near Misses
The next two seasons were disappointing for RCB. In 2012, they finished fifth, narrowly missing out on the playoffs. Chris Gayle continued to dominate with the bat, but the team’s inconsistency cost them. In 2013, despite another strong showing from Gayle and Kohli, they finished fifth again.
2014: A Season of Change
The 2014 season saw a major overhaul in the squad and support staff. Despite high expectations, RCB finished seventh. Kohli and AB de Villiers showed flashes of brilliance, but the team struggled to find momentum.
2015: A Return to Form
In 2015, RCB returned to form, finishing third in the league stage. They made it to the second qualifier but were knocked out by Chennai Super Kings. Kohli, de Villiers, and Gayle formed a formidable batting trio, and Mitchell Starc’s bowling strengthened the team.
2016: Heartbreak in the Final
The 2016 season is one of the most memorable for RCB fans. Virat Kohli had a record-breaking season, scoring 973 runs, including four centuries. RCB finished second in the league stage and made it to the final, where they were defeated by Sunrisers Hyderabad in a high-scoring thriller.
2017-2019: A Period of Struggle
The subsequent seasons were tough for RCB. In 2017, they finished last, managing only three wins. The 2018 season saw some improvement, but they still finished sixth. The 2019 season was another disappointment, with RCB finishing at the bottom of the table again. Despite having star players, the team struggled with consistency and balance.
2020: Return to Playoffs
The 2020 season, held in the UAE due to the COVID-19 pandemic, saw RCB making a comeback. They finished fourth in the league stage, reaching the playoffs for the first time since 2016. However, they were eliminated by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator. Kohli, de Villiers, and young talent Devdutt Padikkal were standout performers.
2021: Consistent Performance
RCB had a strong 2021 season, finishing third in the league stage. They made it to the Eliminator but were knocked out by Kolkata Knight Riders. The season saw the emergence of Harshal Patel, who won the Purple Cap for being the highest wicket-taker. Glenn Maxwell also made a significant impact with his all-round performances.
2022: Playoffs Again
In 2022, RCB continued their consistent run, finishing fourth in the league stage. They reached the second qualifier but were eliminated by Rajasthan Royals. Faf du Plessis joined the team and made significant contributions, adding depth to the batting line-up alongside Kohli and de Villiers.
2023: Building for the Future
The 2023 season saw RCB focusing on building a strong core of young players while retaining their experienced stars. They finished fifth, narrowly missing out on the playoffs. The season highlighted the potential of new talents like Rajat Patidar and Shahbaz Ahmed, showing promise for the future.
2024: The Quest for the Title
In the 2024 season, RCB aims to build on its recent performances and make a strong bid for the IPL title. With a mix of experienced players and promising newcomers, the team has shown a renewed sense of determination and focus. Key players like Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, and young talents are expected to play crucial roles. Fans are hopeful that RCB’s quest for their maiden IPL title will finally come to fruition this year.
Conclusion
The journey of Royal Challengers Bangalore through the IPL seasons has been a mix of exhilarating highs and frustrating lows. Despite not having won the IPL title yet, RCB remains one of the most beloved franchises, known for their passionate fans and star-studded line-ups. With a strong core of players and a focus on building for the future, RCB’s quest for their maiden IPL title continues, keeping their fans hopeful and excited for future seasons.

Jos Buttler helps Rajasthan to remain unbeaten
Tumblr media
On Saturday, the Rajasthan Royals defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six wickets thanks to an unbeaten century from Jos Butler, who eclipsed Virat Kohli's opening IPL century (6).
In his 100th IPL encounter, Butler got his century off 58 balls with a six when Rajasthan needed one to win their pursuit of 184, with five balls remaining in the Jaipur match.
After scoring 35 runs in his previous three games, Butler found his form. He and captain Sanju Samson put up 148 runs for the second wicket, with Samson making 69.
Butler spoke of his winning smash over the deep mid-wicket fence, "Had a little bit of luck, did not time it well, just got over the rope, delighted with the win."
No matter how long you've spent playing the game, those tensions and worries persist. The mind is a powerful tool; all you need to do is persevere, work hard, and sometimes good fortune will find you.
Earlier, Kohli scored an undefeated 113 to lead Bengaluru to 183-3 after reaching his ninth IPL century in 67 balls, the highest by any batter.
However, his efforts were in vain as the first-time winners, Rajasthan, secured the top spot in the 10-team table with four wins, keeping them undefeated throughout the season, ahead of second-placed Kolkata Knight Riders, who have won three games in a row.
After getting off to a poor start, Butler—who, along with Chris Gayle, now has six tons in the IPL—blasted Mayank Dagar for three fours and a six in a 20-run sixth over, setting up the chase.
After Buttler came in to replace Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was out on the second ball of the innings, Samson also assumed responsibility for the opposition's assault.
At their home stadium, Samson and Butler captivated the audience with their beautiful strokeplay, hitting 16 fours and five sixes between them.
After Samson left, Rajasthan faltered a little and lost two more wickets, but Butler and Shimron Hetmyer, who scored 11 off six, held strong.
After reaching the three-figure mark with a single off Nandre Burger, Kohli, 35, hit his first century of the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League. He then removed his helmet and lifted his bat in front of the applauding audience.
"I want to keep the bowler guessing; I don't want to be too aggressive." They want me to leave quickly and hard," Kohli remarked.
It just takes maturity and experience. I prepare the game and play the conditions.
As he and captain Faf du Plessis put on an opening stand of 125 runs, with the latter hitting 44, to create the groundwork for the total, Kohli struck his third fifty-plus score of the season.
With a six off 39 balls, Kohli scored his half-century by smashing Riyan Parag below the belt.
Yuzvendra Chahal gave a catch to long-on and Du Plessis fell. To check the surge, Burger shortly bowled Glenn Maxwell for one.
Throughout his 72-ball innings, which included three fours in the last over, Kohli remained resolute and responded with four sixes.
With 316 runs in five games, the former captain of India solidified his place atop the batting table this year.
With Bengaluru, Kohli is still searching for his first IPL victory.

Dawn of New Sporting Era in United States of America -T-10 Cricket
Tumblr media
In life, change is constant...
Excruciating slow and lengthy professional sports (NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, MLS) have witnessed concerted effort to reduce time to keep fans engaged. Making a better TV for viewers with more action attracts the next generation of fans. Athlete and fans are spoiled with choices. And, the appetite for engaging sport aside from football, basketball, hockey, baseball and soccer brings the newest world sensation back to America: CRICKET! Cricket once a popular sport in America, began waning in 1908. Starting around 1905, the number of matches dropped and clubs began to close. Last match was played in 1913. International apathy caused an irreversible decline. Haverford College played as late as 1925 at a high standard. Today, Haverford College continues to play cricket.
Cricket is often compared to baseball. It is also a bat and ball game played between two teams. The batting team has two players on the field and bowling team has eleven players on a field. At the center of field there is a 22-yard pitch. Each end has three stumps and between the stumps are two bails, combined called wickets. Six legal balls are bowled in an over. Overs determine length of the game. Bowler delivers from one end of a cricket pitch to the batting player.
Over the years Cricket has introduced various formats. The five day Test match exist to test skills, character, stamina and temperament with unlimited overs. One Day International (ODI) has single inning each and 50 overs that lasts 7 hours on average. Year 2003 ooze the game of cricket, indelible introduction of a twenty overs format, called T20, and it revolutionized the sport. This 3 hour match entered India in 2008, and birthed Indian Premier League (IPL) having eight franchise teams and later adding two more. Post 2023 season the IPL T20 league is valued at $15.4 Billion USD. It has attracted far more audiences in short duration than any other sport in history. Year 2022, data reported 2.5 billion worldwide fan following.
In 2017, a fourth form of cricket was officially introduced and sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC). This 90 minute, Short and Sweet, T10 Cricket League also has a Masters League, the Indian Masters T10 (IMT10) and US Masters T10 (USMT10). Despite the Covid-19 pandemic this league has grew to whopping 341 million viewership in 2022,  2,561% increase. The league's economic impact is now being valued at USD $621.2 million. Cricket has witnessed fastest growth in comparison to any other sports and every formats has volume of followers. USMT10 league is for yesteryear‘s highly celebrated athletes.
