If you clicked the read more I just want to say a big THANK YOU for being part of this tournament. Whether you've been following from the start or you just recently caught wind of it, your opinions and your votes are heard and appreciated
Please just be mindful of the fact that there is actually a person behind this. Someone who's spent nearly half a year planning and executing this tournament, someone who's posted over 800 polls for the sake of a little fandom fun, someone who sees all your comments
At the end of the day, it's not that serious. Everyone has their own opinions. Win or lose, your faves are valid

Cinespia presents Julie Taymor’s magical “Across the Universe” at iconic viewing spot Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
Excerpts from an article in The Hollywood Reporter (June 17, 2024)—
Evan Rachel Wood was actually tripping during “Across the Universe.” According to Evan Rachel Wood, one of the scenes in the 2007 Beatles themed musical Across the Universe is more based in reality than one might assume. While presenting a special Cinespia screening of the film at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Wood shared a behind-the-scenes story from the set.
Notably, Wood did not present the film in person but instead recorded a video because she is “recovering from knee surgery and not going anywhere.”
“They told me to share a funny story ormoment from when we were on set,” Wood said. “Well, I’ll just say this…during the “I am the Wlarus” scene, any moment you see myself and Jim Sturgess, we are actually tripping.”
Wood also explained that (the movie) “almost didn’t happen.”
“The heads of the studio wanted to change quite a bit. They wanted to remove anything political, anything queer and anything psychedelic. So, pretty much every cool part of this film would have wound up on the cutting-room floor. If it wasn’t for our amazing director Julie Taymor (Broadway’s The Lion King). She stood her ground and got the entire cast to back her up and say we would remove our names from this film if they were to gut it in that way.”
Cinespia is a Los Angeles based organization that brings movie magic to life with screenings of classic films throughout the year to an audience of hundreds of thousands from all around the world, including some of Hollywood’s most famous. They present over 30 screenings a year in and around iconic outdoor venues and historic old movie theaters, as well as presenting special productions such as movie openings and other events for clients, for over 20 years.

I just caught Jane Lynch on Here’s What You Really Missed pod. I believe it was during the AMA episode when she was asked if anyone was ever shocked to find out how nice she is IRL Jane responded that she doesn’t think anyone confuses real life with what they see on TV. I chocked on my coffee. We all know people who still believe Blaine and Kurt are real people living their lives as Darren and Chris 8 years after the show ended!

It's reasons like this that made me really go off Darren Mooney as a critic, the fact that he has to turn anything related to DW into a pretext to sneer at Chibnall in a really unpleasant way. He really leans into the scapegoat creator here, effectively saying that Chibnall personally decided not to find a new showrunner to take over after him and just didn't care about the future of DW.
The fact is, as he hated their era it seems that Mooney wants to hate Chibnall, he wants to think the absolute worst of them as a person, he wants to think that they actively didn't care about the show.
Chibnall didn't even want the job! He took over as no-one else wanted it! And now he's probably had his career ruined and is probably the most hated figure in the fandom, which is kind of sad!
Chibnall himself said that the BBC didn't consult him or tell him anything about who was taking over. But Mooney spins this into Chibnall didn't care!
And using lines like this is the obiturary, irreparable mess... there's a really nasty tone to how he writes about Chibnall that I find quite unappealing.
He's not as nasty as Jay Exci's tabloid title-esque videos or the other goons on Youtube... but he's leaning into it.

Ironically, he's exactly the sort of fan that RTD dislikes.

Love is all you need. Blaine proposes to Kurt on Glee.
In this epic number, Blaine enlisted the assistance of all his friends from McKinley High School's New Directions, Dalton Academy's Warblers, Carmel High School's Vocal Adrenaline show choir, and the Haverbrook School for the Deaf glee club to propose to Kurt by performing the Beatles' "All You Need Is Love."

Remember how at the glee concert 2011, and particularly the video made, that there was that little kid who dressed up as a Warbler and copied all of Darren's moves. And he got to meet Darren and Chris. He'd probably be late teens now. I wonder how he or his parents feel about him being Mini Warbler now. It would be interesting to hear his story since, (or whether he chooses to forget it all?)
I guess he's at an age where he is embarrased. In 20 years he can show the video his kids and embarass them. It will be a fun memory. It won't be enough for an whole episode of the podcast, but a short segment of him or his parents would be nice.
