Re: leaks from the Chomondeleys' circle.
Forgot to mention that Rose and Marina Hanbury's father is a close friend of Tony Blair and the two family couples ( Hanburys and the Blairs) are known to holiday in Italy every year. Tony Blair has a very gossipy friend/ consigliere in Peter Mendelson is an incorrigible networker who befriends everyone who is anyone across all the different establishment groups. Both men remain friendly with Alistair Campbell, infamous PR advisor to Tony Blair and now media columnist in various outlets including the DM.
Sidenote: Peter somehow escaped the Epstein sting even though he is pictured with him on numerous times. Naturally, Peter also knows Andrew, Clinton and Kevin.
Lady Victoria Harvey has direct connections to media AND the appropriate royal circles. Though Lady Victoria tried and failed to have some sort of Los Angeles Social doyenne career - wrong city for such ambitions, has returned to London and welcomed back to the Annabel crowd with open arms.
To be honest, I'm surprised more doesn't leak out about all of them, William and Kate included, because the gossip circles within the establishment are intertwined in the same way that 1930s gossip circles were intertwined. And that's why it's fascinating to read published diaries of people from the 1930s eras because you realise how much they socialised and gossiped about each other. Perhaps it'll be the people alive 50 - 70yrs from now who will get the gossip about William and Kate because you can bet diaries are being written now, but won't be published until then.

But I kinda want to punch Katy Perry because she has allegedly said that she met and chatted with Rose Chomondeley at the concert, and that Rose said some things that made Katy believe the rumors about her affair have some truth to them.
K. Katy, not listening to your pap music anymore.
I found it odd that Katy Perry didn’t take her fiancé/partner/baby daddy Orlando Bloom to the Coronation or Concert but instead took her mom… like why not take him? Everyone else seemed to brought their spouses or partners if not married.
I think it's sweet when people take their parents to major life events, unless we are talking about M and her mom.

I was wondering why the Marchioness of Chomondeley attended the State banquet last year?
Her husband is Lord Great Chamberlain, one of the Great Officers of State. He’s in charge of the “royal” areas of the Parliament building, he greets the Queen at the State Opening of Parliament and is involved in planning, and so he holds a very important position. So as he was invited to the banquet, his wife accompanied him :)

About gossip from the Chomondeleys' circle reaching Richard Eden at DM and who might be leaking.
I think it's often forgotten that DM is owned by aristocrats and employs alot of journalists with aristo connections and or aristos themselves. It's not always the circle giving Richard info directly. With few exceptions, they all ran in the Tatler, Spectator, The Lady, Country life, Evening Standard crowd. Information can come from anywhere within those interlocking publications who in turn hear it at their parties and country weekends, vacations and or friend groups.
At one time, DM hired the editor of Tatler to helm it. The same Tatler editor who had been in charge over there during Kate and William dating years and who'd become the Middletons' media advisor in those years. After he left Tatler, he went on to The Evening Standard.
We tend to think of Soho house as a hotbed of urbanites and celeb wannabes, but Soho Farmhouse has Rose Astor ( wife of Hugh Van Cutsem) as it's founding member and most of it's devotees are people in the aristo set and includes most of the Gloucestershire/ Coswolds residents which intersects politics, media and UK trendy wealthy, home counties aristos.
Even the Made in Chelsea ( reality show) is cast from the aristo set eg Millie Mackintosh's husband is or was a good friend of Eugenie. Millie was deliberately befriended and later discarded by Markle and all we have of their friendship is that photo of them on bicycles at Soho house.
Then you have the other private members clubs eg Annabel's and it's sister clubs eg Lou Lou's, Birley's and 5 Hertford - owned and named by the Goldsmith family whose mother/ step-mother is Queen of the London Aristo society, friend of the Royals and in particular Camilla and her sister Annabel, Diana and Fergie, the Michael Kents). Almost every aristo/ royal circle has membership or parties at these 3 clubs including the young royals such as the York sisters, William and Kate. One of the ladies in William and Kate's inner circle, Astrid Harbord, works for Annabel's.
Olswang, White's and The Lansdowne club are the other three private members clubs that cater to the crowd and also have that incestuous royal/ politics/ establishment/ media/ aristo circle as members.
My point being that information doesn't always have to come from people super close to the subject in question because it's a very close knit incestuous class of people who gossip about each other and it's only restraint and class rules that prevent all of it appearing in society gossip columns like DM.

Houghton Hall Reimagined by Jonathan Rachman Design [@j.rachmansf] at the 2019 San Francisco Decorator's Showcase [@sfshowcase]. This ambitious achievement evokes the stunning Cabinet room of the Classic English Country House, Houghton Hall. The small hanging portrait depticts Houghton's current residents, David & Rose, the 7th Marquess & Marchioness of Chomondeley and is situated above one of a pair of French painted iron urns, circa 1840, from Garden Court Antiques. The 2019 San Francisco Decorator Showcase is open now through May 27th at Let Petit Trianon [@lepetittrianonsf], 3800 Washington Street, San Francisco. Sunday Symbolism: meaningful names, part 4: the nurses, part 1
I am back with yet another post on the symbolism of CtM character names, but now that we’ve left the nuns and Turners behind, it is time to start on the nurses.I am going to limit myself here to their first names, only, because most of the surnames of the nurses aren’t that interesting. Some of these people existed in IRL, so it is totally possible that I actually don’t have much to say on the symbolism of their names within the context of the series. After all, their names were not chosen with symbolism in mind, these people just happened to be called a certain name.
 Jennifer/Jenny Lee
I thought I’d check how much Jenny’s name matches with her character, even though there may not be much use in doing so. After all, Jenny Lee is literally the writer of the memoirs, Jennifer Worth, and her parents will not have chosen her name with any deep symbolical meaning connected to Call the Midwife in mind.
‘Jennifer’ is derived from the Welsh Guinevere, which is made up of the words ‘gwen’ meaning ‘fair, blessed’ and ‘sebara’, meaning ‘phantom, magical being’. Though this bears little relation to CtM, Jenny’s sister wrote a book about their childhoods and her relationship with Jenny (called the Midwife’s sister by Christine Lee). In it, she describes that Jenny had the most gorgeous skin, being of a very milky, porcelain hue, which I guess can relate to the ‘fair’. She also mentions that she had trouble connecting to her sister, because Jenny was a really sensitive, somewhat peculiar child. From her descriptions, I got the sense that Jenny was a bit of a wood sprite, really hard to pin down, always moving. Christine mentions that she was a bit like a ‘phantom’ or ‘magical being’ to her (especially during their childhoods).
 Camilla/Chummy Fortesque Chomondeley Browne/Noakes
‘Camilla’ is the feminine form of Camillus.  According to www.behindthename.com it is not related to the Latin ‘camillus’ , which means ‘a young man in religious service’. This is unfortunate, because it would be highly appropriate for Chummy, seeing as she is deeply religious and even travels to Africa to do missionary work. Any other meaning is unknown, so that leaves us with absolutely zero symbolism. However, only her husband calls nurse Noakes ‘Camilla’, all the other nurses prefer the nickname ‘Chummy’. ‘Chummy’ is not only a name, but also a word, meaning ‘friendly’. This fits Camilla really well; this big girl doesn’t have an evil bone in her body and is basically friendliness personified.
 Beatrix/Trixie Franklin
I’ve found two possible meanings for nurse Franklin’s name. The first: the name ‘Beatrix’ is a derivation from ‘Viatrix’, which in turn originates from the Latin ‘viator’, which is a ‘traveller’. ‘Trixie’ is a diminutive of ‘Beatrix’, thus meaning something like ‘little traveller’. The second: ‘Beatrix’ actually uses the Latin word ‘beate’, which means ‘happily’. I think the second option fits Trixie very well: she has this incredibly cheerful, bubbly personality and brings happiness to those around her (including the CtM fanbase :P). As for the first option: I guess that Trixie is a traveller on the road of life (and she does have some remarkable character growth during six seasons), but, then again, aren’t we all?
 Patience/Patsy Mount
‘Patience’ seems pretty self-explanatory. I really like her name, because I think that Patsy is rather impatient at times. Her name is a virtue she has yet to learn. Now, ‘Patsy’ is used as a nickname for Patience (in fact, we hardly ever hear her full name), but it actually derives from the name ‘Patty’, which was a variant of ‘Matty’, which, in turn, was a diminutive of ‘Martha’. This name is Aramaic in origin and means ‘the lady’ or ‘the mistress’. Patsy is every bit a lady, so I guess that this name fits her. Curiously, ‘Patsy’ could also be used as a diminutive of ‘Patrick’. I just hope that no-one will call Doctor Turner this…
Next week I’ll be back with the second part of the nurses’ names. This will also be the last part in the ‘meaningful names’ posts, after which I might do either something on the symbolism of cigarettes, or something about hearing vs. deafness and speaking vs. muteness for the Turners in season three and six.

It's funny you should be interested in Cambridge spies because I grew up in Cambridge and my head of year in my senior school was a spy in the Cold War (and also because you mention both the place I live and Chomondeley which is one of my favourite places to compete blackbird is one of my favourite fics in this fandom) also she was fucking scary, nothing less than a British spy can run an all girls school 😂
As a fellow product of a British all-girls school, I must concur that a particularly terrifying sort of woman seems to end up running them!

Who are William and Kate’s closest friends?
The best place to start is godparents. So in there you have Oliver Baker, Emilia Jardine-Paterson, William and Nicholas van Cutsem, Thomas van Straubenzee, James Meade and Lady Laura Meade, Sophie Carter, Guy Pelly, Harry Aubrey-Fletcher, Hannah Carter.
Some other people they’ve been close to over the years are Trini Foyle, Sam Waley-Cohen, the Marquess and Marchioness of Chomondeley, Jecca Craig, Jamie Murray-Wells, Olivia Bleasdale, Fergus Boyd, Alicia Fox-Pitt,
