Damn you, Joko; it’s this kind of stuff that made Enla fall into a spiral of drinking and racing in the first place. Calling her something the world needed to be saved from was just low.

Rivals Prompts
@depizan asked: SWTOR: 8, 15 GW2: 6, 21
This is part 1 of the “GW2 21″ prompt @depizan gave me.
GW2 21 - Most Religious VS Most Atheistic (part 1 - Most Religious)
The soft splashing of water from a nearby font sang in counterpoint to the susurration of prayer. The towering statues of the Six shadowed over the small mortals who entered the grotto, but only five faces looked down upon the worshippers and supplicants, the sixth covered with a basket some wag had drawn crossed, googly eyes upon.
Many of the visitors to this place were refugees, desperate people beseeching the gods for succour and shelter from a world torn apart by war and despotism. Others were those who sought to add to their wealth, the arrogant and the spoiled assured in the notion that they could only have been so successful thanks to some Divine Favour they were innately worthy of.
But two of the visitors this day were neither. Though they had come from poor refugee stock, the pair of women were from an ancient lineage cast into shadow with the rise of Palawa Joko. The family had fled generations ago with little more than the clothes on their backs, but now the sisters had returned to Elona.
One sat at the base of the basket covered statue, dark eyes focused upon her feet as thogh they were the most interesting thing in the shrine. She wriggled her toes, inspecting the fit of her silken sandals, the threads of the orange and yellow weave shining in the dim light.
The other knelt in devotion, her armoured figure suffused in inner light as she whispered her prayers. Her axe planted in the sand before her, she turned her face toward the blindfolded statue before her, lips moving in fervoured, blissful worship.
The first sighed, slowly shaking her head before she flicked a mote of dust from her foot.
Eventually the prayer was done, the figure unfolding into a lithe woman in blue and white. There was a peace in her slim visage as she retrieved her weapon, but the lines of determination were not quite wiped from her thin face.
“You know Kormir isn’t listening.” The words were more resigned than curt as the woman in orange looked sadly at her sister. “They’re all gone.”
“I know.” With a quick movement the axe was sheathed at her hip. “That shouldn’t stop you from giving thanks to all She did for us before She left. Even Her leaving was for our greater good.”
“Yes.” With a sour look she glanced up over her shoulder at the basket goggling high above. “As opposed to not giving a choked choya what happened to us.”
“Enla…” The sister paused, apparently considering her words. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be.” With a swirl of silk that flared like flame, Enla leapt to her feet. “I’m going back to the race.”
* * * * *
Tila and Enla Kaivas are human sisters of Elonian descent. Though they were raised outside Claypool in Kryta, their family never forgot they were scions of the Crystal Desert, and they maintained the traditions from those lands.
The sisters were raised by parents who followed the ways of two of the Six, and allowed the children to make their own choices as to who they would follow and believe in. Tila followed her father’s God, Kormir, and learned the ways of the spearmashal and the firebrand. Enla, however, followed her mother into flame, learning how to weave fire and fury in Balthazar’s name until they returned to Elona.
When Balthazar betrayed the rest of the gods, Enla lost her faith, losing herself in the raptor races around Amnoon. Tila’s faith only grew in her training and belief, her calling to be a Sunspear and Guardian only strengthened by meeting the remnants of that Order.

I haven’t been particularly fussed about what comes out of the Black Lion Chests ... pretty much as long as I’ve been playing. I have a few Black Lion Ticket Scraps from them, but mostly I get rubbish from them - boosters and the like.
Not tonight, though. I didn’t even fully realise you could get glider and backpack skins from them until this Feathers of the Zephyr pack dropped out of a chest. The gold of it suits Enla’s outfit, and so she got it. I think it’s really rather pretty.

It’s Path of Fire Demo weekend in GW2, and I’m off to explore Elona with a new girlie. Yep, the Kaivas Legacy has finally arrived in GW2 in the form of Enla, a thief at this point, though if she ever makes it fully into game she might end up as a Guardian. I just wanted to look at Thief for now. heh

First of all I need to say this: I am really going to miss my scaly dog. 8-( Technically the release date isn’t that far away, but in reality it’s a long time to go scaly-dogless. 8-(
Also in these pictures is Enla, of course, and a new girlie - Sjoukje. I finally have a girlie I want to be a true Daredevil on. And my headcanon is that Sjoukje came to Amnoon and saw Enla* participating in the raptor races, and that’s how they met. These pics are here so I can hopefully recreate their looks sometime.
* Enla is probably going to have a different name when we go live, but she’ll still be a Kaivas, no matter what.

Apparently she didn’t want to be a thief, or a ranger. So now she’s an elementalist*, and it’s actually kind of fun. Also, this place is really rather pretty.

I’m so much happier with these outfits for the sisters. I mean, for Enla it’s still a panty shot, but at least it’s not a g-string (thong). And Tila is now in armour much more appropriate for her Elona home.

I bought three character slots today and pretty much immediately filled them up. I may be buying two more. >.< I need a full set of doubles?
So Enla is now 80 - I used my PoF boost on her. Tila and Sjoukje are both 40, as I still had a couple of boosts left for them. Any others will be out of luck, alas, so I won’t be rolling any more newies for a while yet.

Then suddenly Enla had a sister, Tila. I have no idea how that happened, but it did.

This is mostly for my own reference and musing, but I thought some might be interested to see where my GW2 characters will be going come Path of Fire; elite-specialisation wise, anyway. Some of them have a really good in-character reasoning for it, while others are ... far less so.
So, to go in pictorial order:
1. Necromancers
Apacea has always been a bit of a rebel. Not to the detriment of the Sylvari, but she’s always done her own thing. She is, you may notice, cactus-based, with her spiky head and lack of greenery. She is a fighter, but loves her friends and would do anything she could to help them. She seems a good choice to manipulate sand and to punish those who would hurt those she cares about, so she’s going to become a Scourge.
Xoqqi on the other hand has long been interested in the dead and how to harness death magic - being an Asura means that she has always thought herself better than any of lesser intelligence and has always been a bit arrogant. Well, a lot, actually. And as I just want to see her dragging around that massive greatsword, she’s going to be a Reaper.
2. Rangers
Sarin Beresford is a Norn, and has always believed int he strength of Bear to keep her going and get her through difficult times. She has a bear companion she raised from a cub - Bjarn - and they have traversed Tyria together in their adventures. She has a deep affinity for animals, and will in time become a Soulbeast.
Kerilsa however is less determined. She’s more a wanderer who happens to know how to get along with animals, and has lived a long time upon the land, learning about its energies and power. She is of the Cycle of Night, and so has an affinity with the moon - she will make a good Druid.
3. Engineers
Ranuncla has for a long time sought to find a way to combine the more typical technologies of the Charr and Humans to that of the Sylvari, interweaving nature and tech to the betterment of both. With Holosmithing she believes she can do that, using light to create all new wonders.
Prahris Clawstrike however has always been one who liked to sink her claws into things, to bash and explode her way through to her goals. She’s a scrapper at heart, and now will become a Scrapper in specialisation, belting enemies with her bloody great wrench before going back to fixing or dismantling whatever she was doing before.
4. Thieves
Sjoukje Diesen is going to be a Daredevil. For a Norn she is lithe and trim, and has always been one to find herself in the middle of a fight, though she’s also fairly adept at talking her way out of bad situations as well. She and her staff will go far, as she’s always been something of an acrobat. Or, as you will, a catburglar when necessary.
pod!Gerain however... I’ve never been comfortable with him as a Thief. The only reason he was rolled as a Thief in the first place was because I didn’t have one and didn’t want him to be constrained in the “warrior” role his SWTOR counterpart had been trained in. However I’ve regretted that choice for a long time, as I never really saw him as wanting to steal anything except perhaps the odd trinket from the oblivious and of course kisses from his love. But now that Deadeye is coming in with its long range sniping ability using rifles and having the Steal ability completely replaced, maybe now, finally, he can be settled in my mind as the Tareg’erai’nuruodo AU as he was intended to be.
That’s it for now. I’m still debating as to which of my Mesmers (Lorit Chomondeley and Pyrif) will end up the Mirage (Lorit, you peacock, those mirrors are for magic use, not... oh, never mind), and pondering on my Elementalists (Toloma and the new Enla Kaivas), while I don’t see Vertoc becoming a Firebrand. He was very content being the Dragonhunter he is, so I may just have to roll another new character for that sometime.

It’s really hard to get a decent pic of it, but after getting Prahris’ ascended weapon I decided that I was bored enough to try to finish off Toloma’s The North Wind - the Tempest’s ascended warhorn.
I think I’ve decided on which Elementalist will become what Specialisation. Toloma has been associated with Air since the beginning, and the use of Air via a warhorn makes some sense. Also, the word Tempest = storms/air, am I right? And Enla Kaivas has made it quite clear that she’s about Fire, and as she’s supposed to be my “Elona Envoy”, she will make a fantastic Weaver. She learned the art of it in her homeland. I tried it out briefly in the demo server today, and it just suits her.
This is the thought at the moment, anyway.
#Aileuromania plays GW2#Toloma#The North Wind#elite specialisations#had a MUCH easier time getting the drop off those Noxious Pods today#apparently the RNG just didn't like Prahris#just the Reaper's Greatsword#the Berserker's Torch#and the Herald's Shield#to go#I can see potentially getting the first two#when bored enough#as I don't really see Teudila as a Herald/shield user#it's a low priority
