tensions had been at an all time high backstage for the last few weeks, ever since cody brought jey uso to raw. you understood that he had hurt a lot of people, and you knew that you were one of the few people that didn’t have an issue with him being back on monday nights. you didn’t know jey very well, but you wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. you and cody were two of the top baby faces on the roster, and you shared a common trait; you believed in second chances and seeing the good in people.

it didn’t take long before the judgment day was trying to recruit jey, which would be a dangerous combination if he said yes. they were already a powerful group, you couldn’t imagine if they added the talents of main event jey uso to their ranks.

you were walking around backstage looking for adam to talk about a potential match for you next week, when you turned a corner and almost bumped into jey.

“whoa - my bad,” he said, holding his hands up like he expected you to get mad at him.

“no worries,” you smiled. “good luck on your match tonight.” he looked you up and down, and you weren’t sure if he was checking you out or looking for any sign that you were going to attack him. he must have decided that you were being sincere, as he seemed to relax a little at your friendly demeanour.

“appreciate that,” he nodded.

“have you thought about what you’re going to to about the judgment day?” you asked, and he ran his hand over the lower half of his face, smoothing out his beard as he shook his head.

“i don’t know yet,” he admitted.

“whatever you decide, make the right choice for you,” you said, and he nodded, obviously a lot on his mind. you stared walking away, not wanting to take up too much of his time since his match was starting soon.

“hey,” he called after you, and you turned back. “thanks. you’re cool,” he said, offering a hand for you to fist bump him. you smiled, tapping your knuckles against his before walking away to find adam.

maybe it was because you were curious to see what decision he had come to in regards to the judgment day. or maybe you secretly wanted to cheer him on, but you had decided to hang out in gorilla to watch jeys match against drew. it was nearing the end of the match, and it had been a pretty even fight, when damian, finn, and dominik came out, surrounding the ring. you sighed, just hoping that jey took your advice and didn’t let them get in his head and distract him from the match that was currently going on.

jey was thrown into the corner, and the judgment day cheered him on, jey eventually standing up and giving priest a fist bump before super kicking all three of them, making his decision clear. unfortunately he turned around and walked straight into a claymore from mcintyre, and drew pinned him for the three count. jey was still laid out in the ring as drew jumped over the ropes, and started walking up the ramp.

you watched as a humiliated judgment day surrounded jey. they started kicking and hitting him relentlessly, jey having no chance on his own against the three of them as they picked him up and continued their attack. drew seemed to consider turning back to help him, but never did, and you decided you couldn’t watch this anymore. you ran out to the ring, sliding under the bottom rope and pulling dominik off of jey first, and he went to swing at you until he realized that he couldn’t hit you. you superkicked him, and he rolled out of the ring. you managed to pull the other two off of jey, who they had let fall down to the mat, a crumpled heap on the canvas. they backed off as you stood between the fallen uso and the judgment day.

“this isn’t over,” finn spat, and you stepped eye to eye with him.

“yeah, i think it is.”

“we’ll see about that when mami gets back!” dominik yelled. you didn’t have time to reply as cody’s music hit, and the american nightmare ran out to the ring, running past drew and getting in the ring. finn and damian attacked him, now having an opponent they could fight back against, but you pulled finn off of cody, and managed to get him to back off out of the ring, joining dominik who was backing up the ramp in retreat. cody clotheslined damian over the top rope, the taller man landing on his feet before you and cody helped jey up.

jey looked at you, suprised that you had come out to to his aid, but more than that he was grateful. you looked at cody, who gave you a nod, and you returned it.

“are you okay?” you asked jey, and he nodded, finally able to catch his breath.

“you ain’t had to do that for me. you got a target on your back now.”

“i wasn’t just gonna let it happen. and if anyone wants to come for me, i’ll be ready,” you assured him. you knew as soon as she was medically cleared, rhea would be after you, but you had the advantage of knowing she was coming after you.

“thank you,” jey insisted, and you smiled.

“what are friends for?”

jey looked surprised, but cracked a smile, wincing slightly as cody raised his arm. he may have lost the match, and made a few more enemies, but he had gained an ally, and jey considered that a win.

I may have started AME after drawing this piece for the secret pal exchange. Why did no one tell me this book was kinda a lot of fun and hella better than almost anything recently from PB?!? I’m only on book two but I know (or am at least 99% sure on) Adan’s endgame already (and yes, that’s with knowing all the spoilers from back when these books were releasing).

Also why did no one tell me handsome stranger’s default name was Adam before I played and named my babe? Anyway I obviously had to change the default since Adam and Adan was just way too confusing 😂

There has since been recent news about Johnny Silvestri (one of the people who came out against Colleen and her ex-husband Josh). The best way to find info about that side of the situation in watching SWOOP's doc on it. (Part 3)

It's a long watch, but she actually has journalistic integrity (unlike Andrew Quintana). She keeps things engaging while providing important information.

Rumble implications months ahead of the actual event.

The Royal Rumble is one of the most fun events. The statistics of how long you last or how many you eliminate. The story of a low number making it to the end or a superstar wanting to main event Wrestlemania. The interactions you may not normally see and the possible beginning and ends of storyline feuds. But one of the neat things are the surprise entrants.

The Surprise Entrants can be many things. An injured wrestler coming back. A former employee returning for either one night or making their return. A retired wrestler making one last appearance. And recently, specifically with the Women’s Royal Rumble, the Forbidden Door opened with a TNA Wrestler making an appearance. So what if the Forbidden Door next year has AEW wrestlers make an appearance.

I doubt it considering how much AEW have bad mouthed the WWE at times but you never know. So which AEW Superstar would be cool to see in the event? So here are my 5 choices.

0 - Former WWE Superstars

Let’s face it, the easiest won’t really be as big for AEW as it would for WWE. Most people already know them from their time in WWE. So having Edge, Bryan Danielson or John Moxley (Dean Ambrose) show up would definitely get a pop. But it wouldn’t be a pop because they’re from AEW. It would be a pop because they came back to WWE. So I’m focusing on those who made themselves in AEW and have relatively no WWE appearances.

0 - Names made in other companies

Same reason as above, though I know most would probably associate them with AEW. Kenny Omega, the Young Bucks, Ospreay, they definitely made their names outside of AEW. And it would be super easy to make a list with them included. Basically, their AEW appearances have to dwarf their appearances elsewhere to be part of this list.

1 - MJF

I don’t think many would argue MJF is the biggest star AEW has made. And I bet you could argue he is their biggest star in AEW period. So I can imagine the pop he would get being an AEW star in a WWE ring. When it comes to WWE, MJF’s only appearance (as far as I know) was as a security guard for Samoa Joe. That was played for a feud the two of them had in AEW. So making his first (and possibly only) WWE appearance like this would definitely be a big deal.

2 - Darby Allin

World Wrestling Network, EVOLVE Wrestling, Northeast Wrestling, AAW: Professional Wrestling Redefined. Combine all the matches he had in these promotions and it would still be less than his time in AEW. So if anyone deserves to be considered a pillar it's definitely him. And considering how willing he is to do certain things, I can see him being down to do a killer elimination if he was in. They would definitely pop.

3 - Wardlow

If there is one AEW Wrestler who would fit the WWE mold, it would be Wardlow. His storyline with MJF was star-making and a big guy like him would always be impressive. Shame he probably isn’t as big of a star as he could be considering how they handled his title reign, his rehashing teaming up with Adam Cole and now injuries. But if anything can make him look like a big star again it would be a Rumble appearance with a good number of eliminations.

4 - Britt Baker

She had 3 WWE matches, but as a jobber for others. I’m pretty sure you can add up all her other wrestling appearances and can’t come close to AEW. She is definitely their best known Homegrown Female Talent outside Jade (who is now in the WWE), so her making an appearance would be pretty cool to see. Others I wish I could put on this list among the women are like Toni Storm or Willow Nightingale but they definitely made themselves outside of AEW.

5 - Jack Perry

There’s only one reason: Brawl Out 2024. The incident that had AEW fire CM Punk. If they had someone who could keep Punk on a leash like they likely do in WWE, this could have been big money. You’re seeing it now with Drew McIntyre. If they intend on making Perry a bigger star, showing up in a WWE Royal Rumble to reignite that feud in a controlled environment would be great.

And that’s my list. Who do you think would be a good showcase of AEW to a WWE Audience?

The joy was like none other, and the feeling of love and pride was indescribable and he couldn’t believe the day had arrived.

Staring down at the small baby who was wrapped in a blanket, Adam was in love. They had given birth to a beautiful baby boy. Finding out on Christmas Day they were having a boy was the most precious moment but watching his wife hold the baby in her arms, as she gazed lovingly at the small human was something on a different level.

This woman was amazing, she was brave, she was strong. She was the strongest woman he knew. She dealt with the labour like a pro, she dealt with it calmly and was rational throughout the 28 hours of labour, no matter how tired she became. She was loving, and sweet and gentle as a dentist to children, she was the kindest person he had ever met and now he knew she would be the most amazing mother to their son.

Reuben had settled after his first feed from his mummy, and he was finally calm, and so sleepy, he felt safe in his mothers arms, the skin to skin thing working wonders on the bonding between mother and son.

“He’s so perfect” Adam marvelled and Charity stroked the babies cheek as those little eyelids drooped slowly, as the newborn ventured to the world of sleep.

“He really is” Charity agreed. The three of them were now a family, Adam and Reuben were the luckiest boys in the world. To have this beautiful woman as a mother and as a wife.
