TellTale: Games Ranking

A recent post mentioned a TellTale game, and it hit me...I have not talked about any of the TellTale games! So here I am making a post to amend that. These were gathered from the website, but I added Tales from the Borderlands to this list. (Site: https://www.telltale.com/category/games/) As usual, this is my personal list of best to worst. Personal lists are allowed to vary as they are subjective, not objective. (Like my little disclaimer there?)

Ranking:

Wolf Among Us (2013)

This was a great take on what is classic to most people. Whether you know the “folk story origins” or the disney remakes of them, fairy tales are read/watched by most kids. This takes the classic characters and spins them on their head in a new way. A couple of shows and movies have done this, but not any choice based interactive story games. This was really the best, probably the first one I played? Funny how that one usually works out.

Tales from the Borderlands (2014)

I was surprised this was not listed on their site, but this is definitely a telltale game. Borderlands and Telltale was a very easy marriage of ideas so to speak, especially given the artwork. But this was a very good game.

Batman: The Enemy Within (2017)

If you have read any of my other tumblrs, there will be a kind of obvious reason that this comes up next. Batman as a general topic is easy to grab upon and hop on the train. Its one of the more successful comic book stories. It is kind of nice to see the behind the scenes of one of batmans most famous villains.

Batman: The Telltale Series (2016)

Do not be deceived by this games location on this list. I would still highly recommend this game. My issue with this game, as this idea has been done before in so many mediums. It does well for the classic telltale game experience. But it is a goodtime for batman lovers.

I have no great news of a batman sequel, but there is a sequel being worked on for Wolf Among Us 2! Really that being the best one on my list, I am excited. There are couple of other games using the “classic telltale experience” like The Expanse and Wallace and Gromit. Seeing as I have watched all of The Expanse, I would be open to playing it, but it was not my favorite show. Which one would you play first?
