Note: For this list, I decided not to add a symbol for shows that center queerness, because in a way all of these shows do that and at the same time almost none actually do. Queer characters and their love stories are featured in every show in this list, but most of them do not address any other queer aspects of their lives and only some address the fact that they are queer at all. This is not a critique of South Korean shows, but just an observation of their current media landscape and added as context, in case you are interested in watching.

What are your headcanons that Kyungju had a young pregnancy around the time where first RFA party started?
I actually forgot who Kyungju even is, so I has to look that up real quick xD
Kyungju Choi is, in fact, the real name of Echo Girl! The more you learn lol
There's not much I can say on her since I never really dove into her character to be able to write for her authentically. We don't get that much information about her backround, aside from her coming from a rich family and her hating getting addressed by her real name for some reason. As for her personality, well... What she did to Zen is not okay in the slightest, but I did enjoy seeing her grow from this scandal in one way or another during his after ending. I do hope she moves on into a more healthy direction with her life.
As for her becoming a parent... Yeah, unfortunately, I don't think I can say much, since I just don't have enough of a grasp on her character where I'd feel confident in my ability to write for her. And it's been a good while since I played through Zen's route, so my info on her is pretty scarce as it is (´-﹏-`;)

*minor Zen route spoiler*
Based on my first encounter with Echo Girl. Really, trying to seduce Zen by your breast size, when his lady (aka me) already F cups? PFT, please!
I look nothing like MC, (well, except for the brown hair & eyes) but I wanted to keep her to one of the game ones. She just got my breast size, haha

Trying to be better, part 2
If you haven’t read part 1, this story won’t make any sense! Below and under the cut, part of me sailing the crackship Echosung into slightly more serious waters. I hope you enjoy! <3
4:45 PM. She sighed as she held her phone in the air, time telling her how little she had done today. A soft whine and the scratching of nails came from beside her bed, Lady insisting that she needed to go out for a walk.
“Yes, yes. Gimme a minute to get ready,” she responded, pushing herself off her bed, blowing wavy hair out of her face. Lady didn’t seem to care for her owner’s prep time, running in circles in the hope time would go faster. Long used to her poodle’s antics, Kyungju dropped her phone on the desk next to her wardrobe.
It was right then a new notice popped up on her screen. She expected another meme from the chatroom with her overseas friends, but it was an e-mail. An e-mail with a particularly unexpected sender that made her swipe it away.
“Mom!” she yelled towards her open door while she attempted to brush out the creases in her dress so it didn’t look like she used them as pajamas. “Did you give the agent from Heart & Seoul Models my private email address?”
The gentle tapping of heels on marble followed, her mother’s shadow cast on the cream-colored wall. “Of course, I did dear! Why wouldn’t I?”
She groaned. “What the fuck, mom?!”
“Kyungju Choi, I told you to stop swearing!”
“And I told you, I don’t want these agents to be able to contact me!” Irritated, she brushed her hair down with her hands. Lady followed her every move, doing her best for constant attention.
“I don’t know why you’re so against becoming an idol again. You were so successful last time.”
She nearly lost balance, putting on her blazer and trying to win the argument. “I don’t want that anymore! It ended in a bunch of really bad bullshit, or did you somehow forget that we moved to Europe?”
“You made a mistake that you’re not going to make again. Your father and I agree that you need to be doing something other than loafing about and taking the odd modelling job. Or did you plan on finding a rich man and marrying him?”
“No!” Kyungju yelled. “God mom, I can’t believe you’re still suggesting that!”
Now properly dressed, she slipped her phone in her pants pocket and eyed the unpacked moving boxes in the corner as she left her room, making her way to the stairs in the hallway. Her mother stood on the ground floor, wearing a frilly apron, the only sign she was a housewife - unlike her hair in a tight bun and a face full of bold make-up. Kyungju glared as she ran down, but her mother had always been better in the glaring game. Lady hopped down the stairs, tail wagging from the noise they produced, noise she saw as fun and exciting like all noise really.
“God blessed you with a beautiful body and you’re wasting it,” her mom continued to nag as Kyungju tugged on her boots and jacket. “You may not have been able to charm that albino boy, but he’s young and poor - there’s plenty of older, richer, more interested men you should be aiming for.”
She couldn’t stand hearing more. “I can make it on my own, just give me time to figure out how. Come Lady,” she beckoned, and her poodle obeyed, trotting along while Kyungju grabbed the leash off the coat hook. “I’ll see you tonight mom,” she said, leaving her home for the city streets.
Her mother was merciful and closed the door behind her without another word. Kyungju sighed while Lady sniffed every possible corner and tree she could find, running back when she was called, allowing herself to be leashed. The fluffy ball of energy proceeded to pull Kyungju along the pavement while she pondered.
Her mother was making too big a deal out of this. They just moved here, surely she was going to find something, a job she could be proud of and that had nothing to do with Echo Girl. She nodded while pouting, ignoring the confused face the woman passing her made.
Rush hour had ended, and the once crowded streets slowly found silence as employees and students ran into their homes for dinner and relaxation. Kyungju turned the corner and ended up in a small shopping centre where everyone was closing up. At the end of the plaza Kyungju spotted the small building with illustrated cats and dogs on the windows, a sight that brightened her mood instantly.
Yoosung’s clinic. It wasn’t actually Yoosung’s clinic, he was just one of the vets working there, but in her mind it was. Conveniently close to her house, she had rushed Lady there - best idea she ever had. For once she was glad Lady was such a glutton.
Through the glass, she saw the blond behind the counter, busy with a customer, his red glasses nearly on the top of his nose while looking down. He’s cute, she thought. Against all of her expectations, Yoosung was understanding and warm. She smiled and began to walk over eagerly, feeling like Lady about to get a treat.
Guilt struck her, making her halt. Lady tried to run ahead and strained against the leash a few times before giving up and sitting down, scratching herself.
Kyungju bit her lip, continuing to stare at Yoosung who had no idea she was out here. Tempted as she was to enter the clinic and come up with some excuse to ask Yoosung out for an official coffee date, she couldn’t justify it. Yoosung was around her age and had his shit together better than her. No doubt her mom would be very pleased to know her daughter planned to hit it off with a doctor. An animal doctor, not that that would stop mother from counting in paychecks.
What was she even thinking? With a history like hers, it wasn’t right for her to ask him out. His friends, her parents, possibly even him, they’d all get the wrong idea. She had gotten a crush on another RFA member. What if she was responsible for causing a rift between Yoosung and the RFA?
And surely a guy like Yoosung must have a girlfriend as sweet as him already.
She spun around, fully intent on marching back to her house, only to be met with a man who obstructed her entire view. Startled, she took a few steps back. The man wore a typical gray office suit and his balding head was shiny from all the gel. His eyes widened as his amazement grew upon staring at her, dropping his suitcase next to his feet.
“Erm… Can I help you?” Kyungju asked.
“Echo Girl!” the man exclaimed in joy, clapping his hands together. “I can’t believe it’s really you! It’s me, Ben! I was- no, am!- your biggest fan, I used to send you a letter every month. Do you remember?”
Shit. “Ah… Not really. My agent let interns open the fanmail, I... didn’t.” Unpaid interns, she remembered. She didn’t want to bother with anything that wasn’t Zen back then.
Ben blinked at her. “What do you mean, you sent me replies back! They even had cute signatures! I really felt like we connected!”
“Automated reply letters,” Kyungju answered sheepishly.
“And the personalized autographed photo?”
“A copy. And the signature was never mine.”
Kyungju felt Lady paw at her ankles. Ben seemed lost, brows furrowing as he processed this new information. “I don’t… I don’t understand! We didn’t have something special back then? Why?”
“Because I didn’t care about anyone except me back then. Surely you must have read the scandal about me.”
The middle-aged man shook his head. “The magazines reported something, but it seemed more like a typical idol scandal. But then you disappeared. The fan club assumed you abandoned us.”
“It’s true, I did.” Better he knew now she was garbage. “It’s okay if you’re mad.”
His face completely fell. “I can’t believe this. I thought you had maybe some kind of family crisis and would come back in the future. I was hoping for your come-back! And then I could genuinely claim I am the number one fan!”
Lady reacted to his anger, growling as loud as a tiny poodle could. “God, I shouldn’t have wasted so much time on someone like you! Do you know how many you fooled with the fake crap you sold them? Was your singing even genuine or autotuned?”
“It was real,” she said, cruel words crash making her heart hurt. Lady was barking now, causing other shopkeepers to peer through their windows. Damn it, she swore quietly.
He jabbed a finger, nearly poking her chest. “Real my ass! You are supposed be pure, kind-”
“Hey!” came a sudden new voice, and they both turned towards the man with glaring purple eyes standing next to her. When had Yoosung snuck up on them?
Turned out Yoosung can be very intimidating, Kyungju discovered. His hands were clenched and his posture, wider from the white coat he wore, made him look ready to attack. The sweet, soft boy image of him she harbored since last time was nowhere to be found and she didn’t know whether to be fascinated or terrified. “What are you doing?!”
Ben bristled. “What am I doing? I’m giving this fake piece of shit what she deserves, that’s what!”
“How dare you talk to her like that - she’s still a human being!” Yoosung yelled back at him.
“It’s alright,” Kyungju said to Yoosung, who had moved in front of her, partially blocking her view of the angry fan. “I don’t mind, he has the right to.”
“Don’t say that!” Yoosung whirled around, expression equal parts anger and shock. “Kyungju, you can’t let him treat you like this!”
“Why not?” She bit back. “It’s true what he’s saying, isn’t it?”
“Why does that matter?!” He said, before pinching the bridge of his nose, calming down considerably. “I mean, yes, you did some bad things in the past. I don’t think anyone would dispute that.” He sighed, shoulders drooping. “But it’s obvious you’re genuinely sorry for what you’ve done. Letting yourself get verbally abused like this isn’t helping anyone. Why didn’t you tell him what you told me?” He gestured towards Ben, who stared at them considerably confused.
“This is different. He doesn’t know me.”
Yoosung gently took hold of her shoulders, and she recognized the same comforting gesture she gave him in the café. “Neither did I really, before we met. And even then, I was impressed by you. Everyone else would be too, if they knew. I’m sure of it.”
The dam she didn’t know she had inside her burst. Her eyes started to well up. Embarrassed, she rubbed them vigorously with the palm of her hand, feeling the heat of her cheeks. “Why are you so sweet?” she asked with a small pout. “I don’t deserve that kindness.”
“Of course you do. One day I’ll make you believe it.” Suddenly shy, he let go and blushed a little, aware of what he had said. Kyungju couldn’t help but giggle.
The sound of shoes scuffing the pavement brought about the startling reminder that they were never alone. Ben was still next to them, lost and hands raised awkwardly.
“Err…” he started.
“Look,” Kyungju intercepted, turning to him and clapping her hands together. “I can’t change the past and give you back your lost time. But I am genuinely sorry, and I have changed. I won’t be performing anymore.”
Ben returned to rage mode. “What does sorry do for me?! Do you think just cuz you’ve got a cute face that I’m going to forgive you?”
Kyungju grimaced. How long was this guy going to go on before she would have to threaten him? “I’m not asking for your forgiveness.”
“You should, because I’m done with you! It’s over!!” he yelled, grabbing his suitcase, walking off with his nose in the air. “Goodbye forever!”
Ben marched off, leaving the two blinking at the sudden turn. He had left the street before Kyungju and Yoosung grasped what had just happened, picking up the jaws that had dropped off. Then, she heard Yoosung attempt to muffle his snickers and before she knew it, they both laughed in unison.
“Wow, did you have to deal with his type all the time? I would go crazy,” Yoosung replied after he calmed down.
“Not all the time, thankfully.” Kyungju let out a sigh of relief. “Thanks Yoosung, I appreciate it.”
“No worries, when I saw you and that asshole outside, I couldn’t hold myself back.” Bashful, Yoosung scratched the back of his head.
How does he switch from scary to adorable so fast? Kyungju wondered. “I’m sorry for distracting you from your work.”
“We were closing up, so it’s fine. But what brings you back here again?”
“I live close by. And I, eh, I decided to pass by while walking Lady,” Kyungju admitted, blushing more.
“It’s good to see you still healthy! Haven’t been eating anything weird, have you?” Yoosung said as he bent down to pat Lady, who jumped to try to put her paws up as high as she could on Yoosung’s clean pants.
With things having calmed down, Kyungju followed Yoosung to his clinic, waiting inside while he locked up, his co-workers waving at them just like last time. She waved back as Lady chewed on her leash in boredom.
“Oh, Jaehee asked me to tell you that her café has new latté flavors. Maybe you’d like to try them?” Yoosung asked while he changed from his doctor’s coat to his leather jacket.
“Jaehee?”
“Ah, she’s my friend and the café owner. The café we went to last time.”
Is he asking me out? Kyungju thought, feeling the temperature rise. “Ah, sure, I’d love to try them. But won’t your girlfriend get annoyed with you hanging out with me?” she asked, instantly regretting how obvious she was.
Yoosung grabbed his keys on top of the front desk. “Girlfriend? I don’t think so, seeing as I don’t have one.” He shrugged, leading Kyungju to the front door.
It was hard for Kyungju not to let out any of the high-pitched squealing in her head. “Then, of course!”
“Great! I’m sure Jaehee would love your opinion on them,” Yoosung said enthusiastically, locking up the clinic behind them.
Kyungju wondered on whether this was a date or not. “Okay, but only if you choose a latte for me.”
“But… What if I choose something you don’t like?”
“I’m sure I will like anything you pick.” Kyungju smiled, Lady trotting by her side as they began to walk.
“You have varied taste, that’s good! I can be a bit picky sometimes,” Yoosung replied, placing his hands in his jacket pockets, practically beaming happiness.
Kyungju had a feeling Yoosung wasn’t getting it. But, either way, she was content being with him, at his side, feeling more comfortable than ever.

Can you do one where Jaehee x zen are in the Cinderella story with glam being the stepmother, and echo and Sarah being the step sisters ?
“Kyungju, you need more colour in your cheeks,” Glam sighed as she pinched her younger daughter’s cheek and handed her some blush.
“Yes, mother!” Kyungju nodded as she turned to the vanity and began applying it.
“Sarah, curl your hair!”
“Eh?!” Glam’s older daughter looked aghast. “But straight hair suits me so well!”
“Do as I say,” Glam snapped her fingers. “I will not suffer further embarrassment after the spectacle you pulled at Jumin’s party!” She sighed and shook her head. “Passed over for a plain commoner. Shameful!”
Sarah pouted and folded her arms. “Jaehee! Jaehee, where are my curlers?!” After a few moments, Jaehee stumbled into the bedroom with curlers. “Lazy girl! What took you so long?!”
“I…”
“Oh, never mind.” Sarah pushed Kyungju out of the way so she could sit at the vanity. “Curl my hair.”
Jaehee heaved a tired sigh as she stood behind Sarah to curl her hair.
“That’s not fair!” Kyungju whined and stomped her foot. “Jaehee, I need my hair ribbons to put into bunches!”
“No she doesn’t,” Glam said snappily. “She needs the pearl barrette we got the other week. Come now, dear, you aren’t fifteen anymore. You need to let your hair loose.”
“Then where is my barrette?!”
Jaehee leaned past Sarah to grab the barrette on the vanity counter and handed it to Kyungju.
“But that’s mine!” Sarah whined.
“You’re having the diamond one, Sarah,” Glam said as she applied lipstick to herself.
“Wait, why can’t I wear the diamond one?!” Kyungju whined.
Jaehee sighed softly as she tuned out the voices around her, focusing on her task.
---
“Wash the dishes, clean the sheets, mop the floors…” Glam listed Jaehee’s chores as she ushered her daughters out the door. “Oh. And make sure to polish the jewellery.” She turned to Jaehee, her lips curling up into a nasty smirk. “My pearls, girl.”
Jaehee nodded as she took the pearl necklace off her and handed them to her stepmother. Glam tittered as she put them on herself.
“Don’t get too comfortable. I expect fresh baths to be drawn for my girls when we get back. We’ll be back at either half midnight or later. But don’t drink too much coffee, dear. The scent is abhorrent after all.”
“Yes, of course. Have a lovely time.”
The door slammed shut and Jaehee let out a breath. She stumbled back and collapsed on the nearest chair. She slumped on the table and sighed tiredly.
“Maybe…just a short nap…” she murmured as she closed her eyes.
She sighed as she began drifting off to sleep. She was disturbed with a sharp knock on the door.
She jumped to her feet and scurried across the room to answer the door. Maybe Glam had forgotten something…
“Yes!” a cheerful voice rung out and caught her by surprise. “It is I! Godmother Seven Oh Seven!”
Jaehee adjusted her glasses and blinked blearily at her crossdressing acquaintance. He stood there in a sparkling white and blue tutu, complete with large, glittery wire butterfly wings and a shiny foil wand with a star.
She blinked owlishly. “…Not tonight.” She closed the door in his face.
“Ah, Jaehee! Wait!” Jaehee sighed softly as Saeyoung began knocking on the door frantically. “I mean it! Yoosung’s just coming with your dress and wig, he’s just running a little late!”
“A wig? Why would I need a wig…?”
“Driver Kim is here too, ready to spirit you away to a well earned night of fun and revelry!”
“Luciel, I have chores to do…”
“Which is why Yoosung and I will do them for you!”
“Eh?!” Yoosung’s voice chimed in. “Seven, you didn’t say such a thing…”
Jaehee sighed as she opened the door. “Luciel, this is thoughtful really it is but…”
“But, Jaehee, you’re one of Zen’s biggest fans,” Yoosung said as Saeyoung strode into the house.
“I’m fine with not going,” Jaehee sighed as she let Yoosung in.
“You work too hard,” Saeyoung said as he set the wand down and looked around with a thoughtful expression. “Hm, I see. Anyway, MC personally picked this dress out for you. You wouldn’t want to disappoint her, would you?”
Jaehee looked flustered as Yoosung took the silver dress out of its bag and showed it to her. “It is…beautiful…”
“Just try it on. We even have comfortable shoes for you.”
Yoosung fumbled around and pulled some stockings and plimsols that matched the colour of the dress. Jaehee sighed as she conceded and took the dress off Yoosung.
“Don’t forget the wig!”
“Why do I need a wig?” Jaehee frowned as she took the long brown wig off Yoosung.
“Well, you wouldn’t want to be recognised by your step-family, would you?” Saeyoung smiled. “Go ahead. I’ll help brush the wig when you come out.”
Jaehee smiled shyly as she nodded and went into her bedroom to change.
---
“Oh, Jaehee,” Yoosung gasped as Jaehee came down in the dress. “You look beautiful.”
Jaehee fiddled with one of the locks of the wig shyly. “You think so?”
“Of course he does,” Saeyoung scoffed before tottering over to her. “Just one last thing.” He plucked Jaehee’s glasses off her face and nodded. “Now just let me do your makeup.”
“You know how to apply makeup?” Jaehee said as she was sat down.
Saeyoung pulled a large makeup kit bag out of seemingly nowhere. “Jaehee. Every cosplayer is always prepared with makeup for every occasion.” He tipped the bag upside down to reveal lipsticks, mascara, blush, foundation, eyeshadow and even some face paints.
“Oh my, this is more than what Sarah has,” Jaehee muttered as she picked up a lipstick. “…This is better than what Sarah has.”
“Of course,” Saeyoung grinned as his hand hovered over the pile carefully. “Yoosung, be a dear and start on the dishes. After we send Jaehee off, we need to work together with cleaning the sheets.”
“Right!” Yoosung nodded as he made his way to the kitchen.
---
Jaehee rolled her eyes as Saeyoung dabbed his eyes whilst waving her off at the door.
“My baby Jaehee is all grown up,” he wailed.
“I’m older than you…”
“My sweet baby Jaehee…”
“Have fun!” Yoosung called as Jaehee stepped into the limo.
“I’ll try to be back for midnight!”
“You stay as long as you like!” Saeyoung called as he waved to her. “Don’t stress! Fun never has a deadline for its end!”
“That’s what you think,” Jaehee sighed as she sat back and was driven away.
---
Jaehee was hesitant to step out of the limo. There were so many people around the nightclub where the party was being held, wearing shorter dresses than her, flashing their long nails and jewellery, clicking around in their high heels. They all stood behind a velvet rope in a queue.
She was going to stick out like a sore thumb…
“Miss Kang?” Jaehee turned to the driver. “Is everything alright?”
“I’m just…nervous.”
Driver Kim smiled at her reassuringly through the rear-view mirror. “I understand. Would you like me to circle round for you to calm down a bit?”
“No, no, I’ll get out now. Thank you.”
“Oh. One more thing, before I forget.” Kim leaned across the passenger seat and opened the glove compartment. He pulled out a gilded envelope and handed it to her. “Give this to the bouncer at the front of the queue.”
Jaehee nodded as she accepted the envelope and looked at the golden letters that spelled her name out in a cursive font. With a deep breath, she opened the door and stepped out of the limo. Her blush deepened as several eyes landed on her and she lowered her gaze, slowly making her way to the bouncer at the front.
She presented the envelope, to which the bouncer took and opened it. He scanned whatever its contents were before nodding.
“One moment.”
He pressed into his earwig and Jaehee fiddled with her hands nervously. He murmured under his breath which was drowned out by the chatter of the ladies in the queue.
The door opened behind him and a smartly dressed man stepped out.
“Miss Kang?”
“Yes?”
“Right this way.”
Jaehee let out a soft breath before nodding and following him into the building, much to the displeasure of the chattering girls outside. Inside the club, there were lots of people dancing to the music, girls lining up the extravagant looking bar, snapping their fingers and fumbling with their designer brand clutches.
The man led her through to where another bouncer stood. He paused and tilted his head, prompting Jaehee to curiously peek around him. She covered her mouth as she spotted her stepmother and sisters in front of the bouncer, waving her hands.
“Glam Choi!” she said over the din of the nightclub music. “Do you hear me? I am the Glam Choi, I have performed with Zen personally, he knows who I am and so should you!”
“Not on the list, not allowed through,” the bouncer barked back, as if tired of her complaints.
“I must be on the list, check it again!”
Jaehee hesitated as her escort approached the bouncer and nodded. The bouncer stepped to the side and unclipped the velvet barrier. Jaehee faced away from her stepfamily as they screeched about the injustice of their exclusion and hurried forward.
It was quieter as they went down the corridor, the music growing quieter as they progressed further. They stopped at one of the doors and the man rapped his knuckles on it sharply.
“Miss Jaehee Kang.”
The door flew open and Jaehee widened her eyes as she saw MC in the doorway. She smiled.
“Jaehee. You came. I’m glad.”
“One cannot simply refuse an invitation from Luciel if he’s dressed as a fairy,” Jaehee remarked.
MC laughed loudly as the escort bowed and left them alone. “Come in! It’s good to have you here. Zen and Jumin do not get along and I finally have a fellow fangirl to chat with.”
Jaehee smiled weakly as she stepped into the lounge.
There was faint jazz music in the background but Jaehee immediately recognised it to be from one of Zen’s first plays. Her heart fluttered with the nostalgia as she scoured the room. She held her breath as she spotted Zen at the bar, mixing a cocktail.
“Zenny!” MC called as she led Jaehee over. “Zenny, this is Jaehee!”
Zen looked up and smiled at her. “Jaehee Kang. You are quite the celebrity.”
“I-I am?” Jaehee stuttered.
“Of course. MC has spared no detail on your childhood.”
“MC!” Jaehee hissed and MC shrugged as she sat on one of the stools.
“Oh, you know, I couldn’t help but mention you when we were talking about his plays,” MC giggled.
“So tell me…” Zen hummed as he poured two cocktails out into glasses and added a couple of cherries into each. “What is your favourite play?”
Jaehee looked flustered as he offered her one of the cocktails and took it with a shy look. “…Dandelion Wishes Brought to You.”
Zen looked surprised. “Really?!” Jaehee nodded and he smiled. “You’re the first fan to say that. Oh my, that must have been a couple years ago.”
“I just think your performance as Jisoo was heart-wrenching,” Jaehee said with sparkles in her eyes. “Your performance brought me to tears, you acted so well…”
Zen blushed and rubbed the back of his head. “Ha. You know, I first auditioned for the part of Jihae.”
“Oh?”
“Yes. I’m not fond of cats so I thought I’d be more comfortable as one of the rabbit characters. Then the director decided to cast me as Jisoo instead.”
Jaehee’s heart skipped a beat at this information as she fiddled with the cherry stem and looked up at him in awe.
“Oh, I’ll be right back,” MC said as she stood. “I’ll introduce you to Jumin later, alright?”
She patted Jaehee’s shoulder before going across the lounge to join two men, one with black hair, the other with turquoise. Zen huffed.
“That jerk,” he muttered. “He’s lucky to have a girl like MC. Not that he deserves it.” He turned back to Jaehee and sipped his cocktail. “But enough about him. Tell me more about yourself.”
“Oh, there isn’t that much to tell,” Jaehee said with a deep blush and looked away.
“Nonsense, MC has talked my ear off about you. So, tell me. Is it true that you skipped a few years in school and left poor MC in the dust with your academic success?”
Jaehee’s jaw dropped and she finally met Zen’s gaze. “…It was just two years. My father had given me personal tuition when I had fallen sick one summer. He was afraid I’d fall behind if I kept being sick into the school term. As it turns out, he was a better teacher than he gave himself credit for.”
Zen’s eyes lit up and he smiled brightly. “So smart! I’m so jealous. I dropped out of school to pursue my acting career…”
“But that is admirable! You achieved your dreams through your sacrifices! I look up to you for that.”
Zen looked taken aback before smiling. “Jaehee. You’re so nice.” He stood up straight. “Let’s get ourselves more comfortable shall we? I spy a couple of spots on that sofa there.”
Jaehee nodded as she picked up her glass and followed him to the plush looking sofa. They chatted throughout most of the evening, wrapped up in their own bubble with no-one willing to pop it. Not even midnight’s strike could pull them apart.

Hello! Can i request the rfa+v where the mc gets jealous because her partner is paying more attention to somebody else (doesnt have to be the classic clingy woman) so she feels left out and gets upset?
Jealousy
(RFA+V x MC)
.
Yoosung:
- You couldn’t blame him for focusing his attention elsewhere; he had finals coming up and MC- as much as he loved her- was a hunge distraction to him.
- He wasn’t ignoring MC but he’d spent a lot of time at school after classes and when he got home he was quick to call up his friends and they began to study and revise. MC appreciated his devotion to pass, yet it felt as if he were actively avoiding her.
- “Yoosung~” MC swung her head around the door, her boyfriend was sat at his desk, pen in his hand, and laughing at some joke with his friends over the phone. “Yoosung,” he turned to face her, his eyes widened in question as to what she wanted. “I was thinking we could go watch a film or something?”
- He sighed: “I’ve got to study if I want to pass.” He stretched his hands over his head and gave a warm smile, before turning back to his desk and continuing his prior conversation.
- It wasn’t as if MC thought she should be the most important thing in Yoosung’s life, he was a student who needed to pass his exams, but some time or recognition would have been nice. He was weeks into his exams and, with each passing day, he only grew more distant and focused on his text book. MC had spent many nights questioning when she’d get her Yoosung back.
- It’d be hours before he came to bed- the early hours of the morning in fact.
- Admittedly, he was very careful when he climbed into the bed but MC was quick to stir, walking up slightly agitated.
- “I’m sorry...” Yoosung whispered gently as he tucked himself in next to her.
- She groaned, turning into his chest. A quiet hum left her as she kissed his neck, “I miss you...”
- “What do you mean?” Yoosung questioned as he stroked a hand through her hair.
- “I want your attention, Yoosung,” she whined, “You’ve got me jealous over some books.” MC’s hands trailed his chest and he could only laugh slightly.
- “I’ve never seen you like this.” She only let out another groan in response, placing a firm fist against his chest. Yoosung straightened up, clearing his throat and receiving her clear warning signs. “...I’ll cut down on my hours studying if that’s what you want... Just tell me next time.”
- “I didn’t want to stop your studying.”
- “You’re more important to me than any exam,” he kissed her temples with care before drifting into his much needed sleep.
Zen:
- Opening night was drawing ever closer and MC only saw less and less of Zen. He was working his absolute hardest to prepare himself for the first run of his new musical but it was proving heavy on their shoulders. He missed her and she missed him.
- The theatre was next to two hours away so, with the first show a mere week away, Zen opted to stay in a hotel much closer.
- The apartment became lonely. Evenings were silent and boring. MC was beyond lonely by the time he had been gone for a few days. God forbid Zen would be too busy to make any time to call her during the day; it felt as if she couldn’t be the true girlfriend she wanted to be.
- Though, being able to keep up to date with him through social media was a bonus. He was always smiling with the rest of his cast, up to no good backstage, and just generally having fun. His fellow actors were as happy as him too, including Kyungju for a matter of fact.
- Their scandals were behind them, and it wasn’t the first time they’d acted together since, but it always felt slightly strange to MC. She trusted Zen complete but it was hard to watch the two of them together. However, it wouldn’t be long until it’d be the two of them together.
- His long awaited call adorned her ears the night before the show: “Jagi, I’m sorry it’s so late. Rehearsals ran over again.” Zen’s voice was thick with exhaustion, it was deep and the tiniest bit hoarse, yet it carried immense amounts of love.
- “You need to rest well.”
- “Kyungju suggested we should go out to dinner this evening as a celebration.”
- MC’s chest rang out in pain, god she’d kill to be in a position where she could go out to dinner with him. “Oh...”
- “You don’t want me to go, do you?” He must have heard it all in her tone alone. “...If it’s because it’s Kyungju you really don’t need to–”
- “No! No, I trust you completely,” MC cut him off immediately. She trusted Zen more than she trusted anyone else around her, he could go wherever he wanted with whoever he wanted. “It’s just... I really miss you...”
- He sighed sympathetically: “I know and I miss you too, Jagi. But we can be together tomorrow and I promise you’ll be my entire focus after the show.”
- She looked to the clock and groaned, “24 hours...”
- “Only 24 hours. Just know I’ll be waiting patiently.”
- MC couldn’t help but smile, Zen could make anything positive without trying. “If you put it like that...”
- “Then there’s nothing to worry about and I’ll have my arms wrapped around you before you know it.”
Jaehee:
- “The person you are calling is currently unavailable, to leave a—”
- MC let out a mighty groan as she put the phone down. Jaehee had spent so many hours meeting with investors over the past few weeks that MC had began to question if she was even living with anyone else. She’d be out before MC was up, come home while she was at work, and would rarely make it home to eat dinner together.
- It wasn’t as if the café needed investors, it was standing well on its own two feet, but they’d be appreciated no doubt. So Jaehee set out to make it happen, taking the lead- having had much more experience in business itself- and it was tearing MC apart.
- She could only take so many nights eating alone and working shifts in the café without someone who understood how things should ran. Jaehee was her rock at the end of the day.
- Restless, she picked up the phone again- it’s not as if there was anything else she could try. It rang for a minute or so, seeming like another useless attempt, until she finally answered. MC shot up from her chair, “Jaehee!”
- “Good morning to you too, MC,” she laughed cheerfully.
- “Actually, it’s the afternoon now, my love.”
- “My bad,” she sighed on the other end of the line as she collected all of her paperwork. “To what pleasure do I owe your phone call?”
- “Maybe because I wanted to talk to my absentee girlfriend?” MC humoured, though it was no joke. A laughed echoed down the line but she continued to talk, “I’m being serious, Jaehee.”
- She knew all too well of what her partner was talking about, she felt bad about how little they’d really seen one another. “I know... I have a few spare hours, how busy is the café?”
- “Eh... I’m on my break so whether on not there’s customers makes no difference to me.”
- “MC,” she scolded.
- “I know. I’m sorry...” She fiddled aimlessly with her hair as she gazed out of the window. “Just find time to come and see me, please?”
- Jaehee let out a little laugh, “I’ll be there before your break is over, okay.”
- “Perfect.”
Jumin:
- Jumin was a loyal man, without a doubt in anyone’s mind, but the same couldn’t be said for the people around him. MC would never question his motives; unfortunately, for obvious reasons, he managed to draw in women who weren’t as loyal as himself. They wanted his wealth, his ability to provide. On this occasion, it was the new assistant.
- Maybe it only irked MC this time because she ultimately could spend hours around her husband when MC wasn’t around. Still, her gut told her that the new assistant just couldn’t be trusted.
- They’d met for the first time only weeks after she’d been employed; the woman could be read almost immediately. She was heavily focused on her looks- probably having had some type of cosmetic surgery- and used it to draw eyes, hence the way she left her cleavage so clearly visible in the office. She hadn’t even recognised MC at first, telling her Jumin was unavailable until MC made it clear that her presence wouldn’t inflict on her husband’s work. The mention of the word ‘husband’ had left the assistant in shock, resided back to her own desk. His assistant avoided anything of MC from that point onwards.
- As of recent, Jumin had spent more hours in the office than he had in the penthouse and, having felt she needed to draw her husband’s focus back to reality, MC thought it’d be best to pay him a visit. Not to mention she really just wanted the chance to keep his assistant in check. Her trust remained with Jumin, yet she worried for what might happen if she didn’t remind him of her own needs. She needed him.
- She wore his favourite dress, and she wasn’t afraid to enter his office without hesitation. Truth be told, she didn’t even bother to see if he were inside.
- She was greeted with the sight of her husband at his desk and his assistant stood opposite him. Jumin’s words fell silent as she entered, turning all focus to her: “My love, to what do I owe you the pleasure?”
- “I wanted to spend more time with you,” she hummed as she passed the other female, “You can just act like I’m not here.” MC perched herself on his lap and fiddled with his hair; he returned a dangerous glare, his lips in a small smirk.
- “You wear my favourite dress and you think that can happen. I expect more from you, MC.”
- “I’m sorry to interrupt,” his assistant cleared her throat, “but we were in the middle of something.”
- Jumin’s eyes shot holes through the woman, placing a reassuring hand on his wife’s thigh. “Assistant Choi, you may take your leave.”
- She bit at her lip as she pleaded: “But—”
- “Jumin~” MC’s eyes gazed lovesick at the man, “Elizabeth and I just want to spend more time with you at home..”
- The director cleared his throat, taking his wife’s hand but his gaze never leaving his assistant. “Assistant Choi. Please take your leave, and let it be known I want my hours cut down next week,” his eyes moved to his wife, “No exceptions.”
Seven:
- With Saeran in the hospital, Seven’s point of focus was all over the place. MC knew he wasn’t ignoring her in any way, he was just finding it hard to balance and make sense of everything around him.
- His work had been abandoned at the drop of a hat (much to Varderwood’s disapproval, but still he understood) and Seven was just all around hard to talk to.
- There’d be days where things would seem relatively normal, he’d embrace MC and talk as if nothing had happened; other days he’d reside within himself for hours on end. He’d sit beside his brother’s hospital bed for longer than MC could keep tract of, sometimes talking, most of the time as quite as a mouse. It pained her to watch him suffer like this. She wanted him to be happy and she wanted to be the couple he’d promised they could be.
- It was incredibly selfish for her to say she ‘missed him’ when he was still technically around, but Seven just wasn’t the same. He was a shell of himself. It was like he was reliving his trauma day in and day out, and she hated it. Alas, all she could do was watch. Watch his empty gaze look through everything. Watch him weep at his his brother’s side. Watch him lay awake for hours each night.
- That night was no different, however he hadn’t even made it to the bedroom. MC eyes had long since grown sore from staring at her book in an attempt to keep herself awake- maybe if she waited it out he’d join her. She prayed he would crawl into their bed, hold her close, and tell her everything would be okay, yet she knew it would be her job to do the comforting.
- She crept silently into his office as the clock struck 1am. His monitor was on before him, the content of the hard drive V had given him displayed on the screen. MC whispered gently as she lent over the back of his chair and onto his shoulders, “Seven... Come to bed.” He only sighed, the dark bags under his eyes masking any emotion. She tangled her fingers within the mess of his knotted, red hair. A pitiful smile adorned her, “You need sleep, Saeyoung...”
- “...I’ve fucked everything up, haven’t I...” A thousand yard stare was all he could manage.
- MC moved around to stand between him and the monitor, her fragile hands cupped his cheeks gently. “You can’t blame any of this on yourself.”
- His eyes were slow as they moved to find hers, he tried his best to smile at her. “...I don’t deserve you,” his voice was thick with pain, tears welling in his bloodshot eyes.
- “Well, I’m not going anywhere,” she cooed as she swiped away the stray stands of hair on his forehead.
- He raised his hand to meet the one she held on his flushed cheek. Tears made his face wet as his eyes crinkled shut, “I’ll be better for you, MC. I swear I will.”
- She was taken aback by his words. He was being the best he could physically manage right now, but that wasn’t to say she didn’t want the Seven she had fallen in love with back. “Let’s just– Let’s just go back to bed, okay?”
V:
- Jihyun would travel often- sometimes with MC, sometimes alone as to clear his head. The latter was tolling on MC however. He could travel for months at a time, locating to remote places where she couldn’t reach him. She loved his handwritten letters dearly, of course, but they could never really compare to having him around.
- It was only natural for MC to then react when V mentioned he’d be travelling again, by himself this time.
- “I’ll be back in two months, sweetheart,” He cooed gently to the woman pouting at the table sat opposite him. “You know the time flies and I’ll be back before you know I’m gone.”
- MC pushed her plate away, she’d lost her appetite all of a sudden. “...I’ll know.”
- “Oh MC,” he tried to laugh it off as he stretched out a hand to her, “please don’t make me feel guilty.”
- “That’s not what I’m trying to do...” Perhaps she was, if he felt guilty maybe he’d realise a few things and the could remain together. Hell, she’d be happy if he cut his trip down to a few weeks, rather than the torment of two months. “It’s just hard when you’re not here...”
- V fell silent. Admittedly, MC rarely spoke up about her distaste for his travels. He needed to clear his mind, yes, but she needed him more. No amount of trips were really going to ‘clear his head’; all he really had to do was put past events (especially Rika) behind him, rather than this endless running. MC knew this. V also knew, but he lived on acting as if he didn’t. “You know I’ll be back.”
- “And when you think of her you’ll run away again...” She clasped his hand with her own, holding on as if he would leave then and there, “...Jihyun, I want you to be happy with me here.”
- “I am, MC.”
- “So why does she still bother you so much?” She wanted to explode with all her pent-up anger but that wouldn’t help either of them. MC withdrew he hands from the table and clenched them at her sides. “Can you just... let go?”
- V fiddled with the cuffs of his shirt, his eyes not reaching hers, “I’m trying... It’s just all the guilt wells inside of me and–”
- “Then let me help you instead of running away.” MC’s tone dropped, it became more soothing yet underlined with pain: “This place is so lonely and desolate when you’re not here. Jihyun, I need you here.”
- He heard the strain of her voice, he couldn’t forgive himself. “I’ll stay...”

Not Your Average Rom-Com
Hi!! Zenless here. This is like... A trial I guess? I was just wondering how many people would be interested in reading and OC x Zen story? So before I start I might as well mention that there are heavy themes, mainly sexual and physical abuse that appear later on, if I decide to continue posting this. Uhhh feedback would be much appreciated so if y’all could send me a little response or anything to let me know what you like and dislike it’d really help me grow as a writer!!
That’s all for now! And here’s the first part of Not Your Average Rom-Com
Chi dropped her bag onto the floor and plopped down onto one of the cafeteria seats. She let out a loud groan, her head falling forwards into her hands. Her best friend, Dominique, looked at her with an amused smirk on his face. This had become a daily thing, so Chi didn’t even have to look at him to know that he was enjoying her suffering. “There, there.” Dominique patted her back with a grin. “When you die can I have your sweets?” His hand snuck towards the box of macaroons she had set out.
She whacked his hand away. “Hands off.” She lifted her head and scowled playfully at him, before relaxing into a tired sigh. “I’m just so done with training. I wanna curl up into a ball and die.” Dominique just silently handed her a cookie. “More sweets for me and Jacques then.” Jacques. Dominique’s boyfriend. They had been dating for 2 years now and they were sickeningly cute. It was disgusting. Jacques was a shy and timid boy with fair skin and green eyes. His hair was wispy and blond. The complete opposite of Dominique or Domi, as Chi liked to call him. He had dark chocolate skin and brown eyes. His hair was always in dreads hanging around his face and his teeth were so white it was blinding. And he was probably the most outgoing person Chi knew.
Normally such a threat on her precious sweets would have gotten her riled up.But she was too preoccupied and exhausted to care. Domi took a bite of his burger, looking at her with worry at her silence. He swallowed.
“How’s lover boy?” He asked, hoping to get her mind off other troubles.
“Don’t call him that.” She said, successfully distracted. She picked at her mashed potatoes with a small frown. Her brows knitted together like she was concentrating on something. “Why not?” Domi took a bite of his burger. “He clearly likes you.” Chi shook her head. “No he doesn’t. Kyungju likes him.” She knew that made no sense, but it was better than admitting to herself that there was no way he’d have an interest in a plain girl like her. The boy stared at her in confusion. He blinked slowly. “You realize that those two have absolutely no correlation, whatsoever.”
“No, it’s connected. He should be with Kyungju.” She said, pushing down the uneasy feeling in her stomach. “Dude, anyone with half a brain can see that he likes you. Hell, even Jacques sees it and he’s the most oblivious person ever. Next to you, of course.” “This sounds eerily like a rom com. Best friend convinces girl that popular boy actually likes her.” She took a bite of her peas and frowned. “What’s next? Him standing right behind me as I gush about how much I like him?” Domi’s eyes had trailed to a spot behind her, his grin widening to almost devilish proportions. “Yeah, actually. That sounds about right.” Chi whirled around to be met with the college heartthrob, Hyun Ryu, better known as Zen. He was practically known for getting followed around by desperate girls who had nothing better to do in their lives than chase after a pretty face. He had a pretty face. A pretty everything actually. His body was perfectly sculptured, but that wasn’t why Chi liked him. Her reason was simple actually. He was the sweetest man she’d ever met. He was always willing to help. He was charming. He was talented. She dreamed of being able to act like him. He had debuted at the age of sixteen. Talent like that deserved to be admired. He was also a flirt. And even though his flirting might as well be meaningless, Chi was very easy to fluster.
So easy to fluster, in fact, that the sight of him right now rendered her speechless, heat rising to her cheeks and painting a dark blush over her freckles. The man in question smiled. “That was an interesting conversation to walk into.” Chi gulped and put on her best customer service voice. Her heart seemed to pound louder than her own words.
“Hello sir, how may I help you today?”
Domi snorted, turning the other way and laughing into his seltzer. She was going to murder him.
Zen’s lips twitched upwards in a friendly, yet amused smile. Chi felt like melting.
“I just wanted to say hi before doomsday starts.”
“Doomsd-” Chi began to ask, before getting cut off by a high pitched squeal.
“Zenny!!” Oh. That doomsday. Kyungju Choi, the most popular girl in the school. Every boy wanted to be with her, but she had eyes for only one man and one man only. Zen. She had debuted early last year and now was a very popular idol. Her father’s connections were the only explanation to how she reached stardom so fast. Or maybe it was her supposedly natural D-sized breasts. It certainly wasn’t her personality though. Chi wouldn’t touch that nasty thing with a ten foot pole. Zen let out an almost exaggerated huff. “I don’t think she even knows my real name.” He winked at her and turned around as Kyungju looped her arm through his. He looked back at her as the idol prattled on about a new gig she had secured, a small smile on his lips. Chi waved at him until he was out of sight and dropped her head so it hit the table. She could hear Domi’s voice floating over to her, teasing. “You both are smitten.”
Chi didn’t have it in her to argue.

Trying to be better (than we used to be)
3 AM and I can’t sleep, looking up pictures of MM. Me: Hey it's Echo Girl Me: Ugh so childish Brain: Maybe in the future she'd feel bad about what she did Me: Ooh like Yoosung. Yoosung also grows out of it Brain: ... What if Me: Wait no Brain: Yoosung x redeemed Echo Girl? Me: No. That makes no sense. That is crazy and I’m going to forget about it. Me after 2000 words: Fuuuuuuuuuuu-
So yeah. ;;;; I have no excuse for this, I wrote a fic for a total crackpairing. I figured I should post it in case I can make at least one person suffer with me. xD More under the cut because this is longer than it should be orz.
There was something familiar about her. Yoosung knew he had to have seen her before, because her large eyes and wavy brown hair tugged heavily at his brain, which desperately wanted to remember.
Her blue blazer was currently being showered by fur as her poodle did her best to jump as high as possible, more excited than her owner. A poodle which had eaten something they shouldn’t have, which was typical for a young dog. Their reactions were normal too, but Yoosung had trouble finding his voice to send them on their way.
“Was it difficult to remove the ring from Lady’s stomach?” the young woman’s question pulled him out of his thoughts.
‘Come on Yoosung, get your shit together,’ Yoosung thought. She was the last one of the day, he could go home and play some LoLoL. Though he didn’t play it for hours like he used to as a student, it was still his favorite way to unwind.
Putting on his red reading glasses, he scrolled down the dog’s data on his computer. “Not at all, we simply gave her something to make her throw up and…” He wanted to make a joke about her puke being diamonds, as he liked to share terrible jokes, when his eye fell on the name of the poodle’s owner.
[Kyungju Choi]
His silence was starting to make her visibly worried. “Well?”
“You’re Echo Girl,” Yoosung said softly, removing his glasses and placing them on the desk. She had tied up her brown hair, exchanged her Sunday dress to a fashionable casual work outfit and her face lost some of its roundness, but it was unmistakably her.
The last time he saw her was at the RFA party where they stopped her from destroying Zen. How scandalized she had been when her plan got ruined. Her expression of shock matched hers back then. “How… do you know?” she asked, after a minute of silence, eyes darting to the door and back to him.
“Your name. I recognize it,” Yoosung confessed.
She narrowed her eyes. “Almost no one knew my real name back then.” Her poodle sat next to her, all smiles and tail wags.
“I had looked it up, together with what other information I could find about you.” He realized he sounded like a stalker, and quickly added: “Y-you accused my friend Zen of sexual harassment some four or five years ago. He asked me to help him.”
Her angry expression faltered as she clapped a hand over her mouth. “Oh shit, you’re Zen’s friend…!! Oh my fucking God, you must hate me so bad.”
It surprised him to hear her swear so easily. “No no no!” he quickly waved his hands. “I don’t, I really don’t! I-”
The sound of the door opening on badly-oiled hinges interrupted them, his colleague poking her head inside. “Doctor Kim, are you almost done?”
“Y-yes, I will lock up, see you tomorrow,” he promised her, and she waved before leaving. He turned back to Kyungju who bit her lip, hand clenched tight around her dog’s leash, and felt bad for making the situation awkward. He could have just acted dumb about her name.
Just as he was about to, she spoke. “Are… you available for coffee? I would like to explain myself… and apologize, i-if that’s alright with you.”
Yoosung blinked and answered before he could think about it. “Sure.”

He doubted bringing her to Jaehee’s café at first but decided that he would need support from the wisest member of the RFA. There was no doubt that Jaehee recognized Echo Girl right away the moment they walked through the door, and he shot her a look that said: ‘Hi remember Echo Girl she’s actually not evil now don’t kill her for what she did to Zen also I accidentally revealed I know her and we are going to have an awkward talk please help’.
Somehow Jaehee managed to pick all that up and maintained a calm and natural composure behind the counter after serving them their coffee, nodding whenever he looked her way. The white poodle lay dutifully next to their chairs, already napping on her front paws.
Kyungju stirred her coffee many times before she broke the silence. “So… Doctor Kim, how is Zen? If that’s okay to ask.”
“Please, call me Yoosung.” His fingers touched the leather jacket he had hung over his chair, preferring it over the stiff white coat he had to wear for work. “And he’s doing great! Still acting and… you know.”
“Oh. Good, that’s… good.”
Silence. Yoosung took a sip of his espresso and tried not to stare at the table.
She didn’t look up from her drink. “Did you know I swore vengeance… again, after the party? I acted like it was all okay as I performed the musical, but inside I wanted nothing more than to hurt him and Jumin Han and the RFA.”
Chills ran down his spine and he was about to say something when she continued. “However, after that musical, my parents told me my agent and all the sponsors had left me. I was ruined. The paparazzi got so bad, my parents decided to move to Europe. I was furious, of course, I didn’t care about reporters or my reputation, I just wanted payback. In the end… it may have been the smartest choice they made.” She sighed. “Echo Girl was… nothing, not anymore.”
He felt a small pang of guilt. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t,” she said, locking her eyes with his, glaring with the same intensity during that RFA party. “It was my fault. Everything I did was fueled by my crush on Zen, and my parents’ money allowed me to arrange things normal idols couldn’t. I was… well, I guess I was a bitch, to say politely.”
Yoosung was sure she had thought about her actions for a long time. “That is not the word I would use.”
“I would. I can’t believe how much I took for granted being able to act alongside Zen. I took so much for granted. There is no other period in my life that I regret more. It took a while, but I got over my anger. Took some modelling jobs. Met some people who wouldn’t accept my shit and even helped me.” She smiled and Yoosung copied her automatically, glad that it was a real smile instead of an anxious one. “Long story short, when my parents wanted to move back to Korea, I said yes because I missed my home country but… I don’t miss my old self.”
She took a sip from her coffee and put the cup back down with a satisfied sigh. Jaehee’s coffee never disappointed. “I’m surprised you remembered me. No one else seemed to have. I was fine with that.” She looked at Yoosung expectantly, a finger tapping the empty cup. “I’m genuinely sorry for what I did to Zen and to his friends. I can’t ask you to forgive me, but I don’t want anyone else to know who I am. If you want money for your silence, I can arrange that.”
Yoosung’s jaw dropped. “Whoa, it doesn’t have to come to that! Please, I’m sure Zen and the others have forgiven you ages ago. Or at least don’t care anymore.” He wouldn’t be able to live with himself if he accepted a bribe. “It’s fine. I have no problem keeping a secret.”
Kyungju took her time, inspecting Yoosung. “You’re a good person, aren’t you?”
That took him off-guard. “Not at all. In fact, I relate to your story more than you think.”
“Oh?”
“You don’t know him but… for the longest time, I also hated someone so much I wanted him to die. It… it was wrong of me to think so.”
An image of a teal-haired man came to mind and he felt queasy. He had accepted that V wasn’t fully to blame for all the terrible things that had happened to the RFA, and surely he could admit V was a kind man. Yet talking about past mistakes so openly rattled him, even after all these years. Suddenly he found himself wondering if things might have gone better had he been wiser, more understanding.
Warm fingers gently touched his hand.
“Hey. It’s okay. You don’t have to tell me. I know it’s hard.”
Yoosung hadn’t been aware of his vision blurring. Eyes focusing once more, he wasn’t prepared for Kyungju’s sympathy radiating off her. It was such a stark contrast from who she used to be.
“You’re a better person than I am.”
Her blue eyes went wide, and she pulled her hand back as if she burned it. “Fuck no!” she yelled, causing most people of the café to turn towards them. When they minded their own business again, she repeated herself, face slightly pink. “I’m not. I just… grew up.”
Yoosung chuckled, toying with his reading glasses. “More than me.”
Her face was glowing now. Yoosung could see Jaehee in the corner of his eyes, frowning as she wondered what in the world Yoosung had said. “W-what are you talking about?!” her speech stuttered. The way she held her hands in her lap, unable to look at him straight, Yoosung couldn’t help but chuckle.
“I mean it,” he pushed. “You’re almost a completely different person. I look in the mirror and see a dumb teenager in a grown man’s body, and no one’s discovered it yet.”
“Don’t be dumb, you’ve got a great job and great friends because of who you are,” she pouted angrily, old Echo Girl shining through. “Don’t pull yourself down like that.”
One of the waitresses stopped by, whom Yoosung knew was a student as Jaehee often hired them part-time. “Can I get you lovebirds another coffee?”
Yoosung wasn’t sure who squeaked louder, him or Kyungju. “We’re not!” they both said in unison, confusing the waitress. He coughed. “I’m fine.”
“Yeah, same.” Kyungju said. The waitress smiled and walked off, acting like nothing had happened.
Lady yawned and whined a little, grabbing their attention. “Ah, I should go. I need to feed Lady before she tears the café apart,” Kyungju joked, grabbing her purse.
“I’ll pay,” Yoosung immediately offered.
“Fuck no. I’m a modern woman, I’m paying.”
“I suggested this place. Let me pay for you.”
“I was the one to suggest coffee!”
“Ahem,” said Jaehee, suddenly next to their table. “Might I suggest both paying half?”
Both blushed, Yoosung more so knowing Jaehee was going to grill him once she left. “Y-yeah, that’s a good idea,” Yoosung said, reaching for his wallet.
Money in hand, Jaehee left them alone. Kyungju picked up her purse, getting up slowly.
“I will let Zen know.”
Stars appeared in her eyes, dazzling him. “I’ve always wanted him to know, so thank you. It means the world to me.”
He fiddled with his jacket zipper, staring at Lady who stared back. “I hope I don’t see you again.”
Confusion crossed Kyungju’s face and Yoosung instantly panicked. “I-I mean, not at the clinic! I wouldn’t want to see Lady at the clinic! Wait, I mean-” He facepalmed with both hands. Was he really an adult?
Only when he heard her giggle did he dare look through his fingers. “I can’t guarantee Lady won’t eat anything strange.” She brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. “But I’m glad something good came out of it. I’ll see you around.”
She waved goodbye, heading out with Lady in tow. Strangely, he felt a little somber. Yoosung watched her go and wasn’t aware of another person seating themselves across him until he heard them.
“You’re right, she is a different person.”
He nearly jumped out of his chair. “Jaehee!” he yelled at the café owner who raised an eyebrow. “You heard?”
“Everything.” She raised another eyebrow, chin resting on her hands. “You two seemed rather friendly from the get go.”
He shrugged. “She’s nice and she happened to bring her dog in. I will probably never see her again.”
“I very much doubt that.”
Yoosung cocked his head. “Well, I suppose dogs tend to eat strange stuff a lot, but I’m not the only vet in the city.”
Jaehee let out the loudest snort. “I don’t think she wants another vet. Tell her I’ve got new latte flavors soon, she might like them.”
Before Yoosung could question what that meant, Jaehee got up, leaving him to scratch his head.
