The little subtle thing that Sang-woo would let Gi-Hun do like holding onto his arm, being really close to him, always listening whenever Gi-Hun yapped about some stuff (he doesn't respond much but he will let Gi-Hun know that he is listening), that's how he shows that he loves Gi-Hun. I can just imagine him forcing himself to let go of that "childish" crush on Gi-Hun and focus on his future and academic more, he probably thinks that Gi-Hun was straight anyways 💔.

The Teachers:

Oh Il-nam - Headmaster /Principal

He owns the school, like literally Lol. Always in his office and barely seen. But he does get along with the staff and often invites them for dinner after work hours.

Hwang In-ho - Psychology, Humanities, Communication skills, Debate , Pre-calculus and Calculus. Teaches in both elementary to highschool departments. (Secretly the deputy headmaster)

Strict teacher #1. The students fear him. And obviously HATES him. Only 40% of students get high grades from him. A terror but he is great at teaching.

Very strict at the start but goes a little soft once you get to know him, also gets soft when Mr. Gi-hun is mentioned. He's so great at teaching Psychology, that it's scary. His manipulation, gaslighting and lying skills are wild.

Rumors said he likes Mr. Gi-hun, and rivals with Mr. Sang-woo and Mr. Jung-bae.

Seong Gi-hun - Creative writing, Humanities and Personal finance. Mostly teach in the highschool department.

He's loved by the students. Basically the favorite teacher #2. Loud, supportive, and humorous. His table is always full of gifts when it's teachers day or his birthday. Gives good grades and not so complicated projects. Some students question why he teaches Personal Finance, when he has or had a gambling addiction. very ironic

He's best friend is Mr. Jung-bae. And he is Mr. Sangwoo's childhood friend.

Rumors said he is liked by two other teachers, Mr. In-ho and Mr. Sangwoo. Rumors also said he likes one of them.

Cho Sang-woo - Oral communication, Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and every subject under Business. ONLY teach in the high school department.

Strict teacher #2. Every student despises him. Unlike Mr. In-ho some students actually like him. But Sangwoo? No. Simply no. 70% of students fail his classes. Everyone is afraid of him. His the kind of teacher that calls you to answer the question and if his not satisfied with your answer or answered wrong you will remain standing, he would ask you questions and every following question gets harder. The bell ringing doesn't save you either. Gives 3 homeworks every time. His an asshole. Always hot tempered, patient very little and has a cold expression every time.

Rumors said he likes two teachers. It was never cleared who he likes, but both of their descriptions are cute and loud. Rivals with Mr. In-ho but they're pretty chill with each other sometimes.

Ali Abdul - P.E teacher, Home economics, and Culinary arts. Teaches in the high school department. But teach P.E at the elementary department.

The best and favorite teacher #1. His table also gets flooded with gifts when it's teachers day or his birthday. Gets along with everyone. Loved by everyone. Rays of sunshine and rainbows. Loud , strong and always positive. Students always request him to be their substitute teacher if one teacher is too busy to attend their class. Culinary arts is the favorite subject that the students wants him to teach. He is a great cook!

Rumors said he likes one of his co-workers.

Park Jung-bae - P.E and History teacher. Substitute teacher for mathematics.

He hates substituting for mathematics. He doesn't know why the Headmaster Il-nam gave him that sub, but he never complained to him about it. (In-ho gave it to him out of spite and jealousy)

The best P.E teacher...Not really. But he is good at his job. Positive and cheerful. Goes wild on sports day. Great coach of the Baseball team. Ex-marine.

Rumors said Mr. In-ho is jealous of him because his always with his best friend Mr. Gi-hun.

Cho Hyun-ju - kindergarten teacher but also sometimes teaches social studies in the highschool department.

The kids love her. The best kindergarten teacher in the school. She's a kind, thoughtful, friendly and caring teacher. Beautiful too.

When she participated in an obstacle race on sports day, everyone didn't expect her to win. But in the end she won, getting her the title champion, In-ho getting first place, Sang-woo getting second, Gi-hun getting third and Ali getting fourth. Everyone was so shocked but cheered happily.

Rumors said one of her student's father likes her and would give her gifts, like a sketch or drawing of her face. Rumors also said she used to be a soldier.

Jang Geum-ja - School nurse but teach Health, Nutrition and Home economics.

She's the mother of everyone. Cares about everyone. Would bring snacks at the faculty room and give them to the teachers and staff. She always checks the food at the cafeteria if it's safe and healthy to eat. Knows everyone's allergies and always carries medicine in her pockets.

Her son part time jobs as the school nurse assistant.

Rumors said she knows one of the students is pregnant.

The subjects I gave them are mostly highschool subjects and idk what exactly fits them I just went with my guts, plus this is just a headcanon so i hope no one gets mad LOL, feel free to suggest more in the comments or in my ask box.

— Sang-woo straight up offers to pay for Hyun-ju’s surgery 101 times but Hyun-ju is always too polite to accept money from him. Regardless, Sang-woo is always be willing to spend money on Hyun-ju- even if it’s his last 5$, in a second he’ll spend it on her

— Sang-woo lowkey wants to be a sugar daddy!husband

— When they first start getting to know each other, (outside the games) all Sang-Woo can do is buy Hyun-ju gifts with a quiet nod of the head when he gives them to her. It’s not him wanting to be the rich one showing off, or the powerful one of the two, he just doesn't know how else to show his affection yet. Its how he tries to woo her, but Hyun-ju ends up telling him she doesn't need the gifts or anything to spend time with him! She just wants to be with him

— Gift giving is 100% his love language and quality time is hers🥹<33

— In the games together, his brains and her skills… Them teaming up would be dangerous for everyone else, they could win every game so fast but- Hyun-ju would be wanting to save all these people and Sang-woo wouldn’t exactly want that, with every aspect he has to consider in each moment. But Hyun-ju knocks sense into Sang-woo and convinces him to help her help the rest of their team and friends they made on the inside.

— He’s smart, cynical and a little dark. So naturally he wants a very large portion of the money for himself, but he really takes into account what she says and softens up. Plus, he’d fold immediately and helps her with everything she asks of him after seeing how much she cares about these people and how they make her happy (and realizing how much he wants to make her happy))

— She helps him learn to be kind. She brings it out of him.

— Hyun-ju also brings out his protective side

— She brings out the best in him and he brings out the worst in her— the part of her that is seething with the world, and he sees that part of her and he loves every part of it. He wants to see the dangerous, strategic and tactical part (he sort of sees himself in her, although she is much more unconditionally nice), the spiteful part of her. But he also very much loves the overwhelmingly large sweet side of her. The caring and kind part that makes up most of who she is.

— Meeting in the middle of the good and bad parts of themselves, they use their skills together to win the games with the people they’ve grown to care about in there.

— After they’re out, he follows her to Thailand. Knowing how precious she is, how different and unlike anyone he’s ever met before, he'd never let her go ever again

— Late at night just two of them they’d smoke cigarettes on the beach and watch the stars twinkle

— Sang-woo would propose in a shockingly fast amount of time, under the bright moonlight of a full moon, completely silent other than the sound of waves washing up on the beach. The Intimate moment shared only between the two.

— Their play-fights would turn into a real competition fast. At first, Hyun-ju would feign weakness and lose. But once she gets more comfortable around him, she'd let loose and let herself show her true strength and be her honest unapologetic self. She never thought it was possible to be so okay with being herself with another person. And to be so validated doing so. During their first “playfight” where she lets herself use more strength and technique, she surprises him and catches him off guard, pinning him to the ground. He looks at her in with a small expression of awe, while attempting to be as respectful as ever, he wouldn’t be able to hide the look of amazement on his face

— He's smitten with her strength, her mind, her abilities, to be kind, to be selfish. All of it, all of them.

— And she would love him the very same, and knock some much needed sense into this man

Gi-Hun has PTSD from the games (how could he not??)

Ali can lift like two people up at the same time (I love him)

Sae-Byeok is alive chat, trust /j (she bites her nails when she’s nervous)

Il-Nam has like three grandkids who range from like 19-23 or around that age

Sang-Woo definitely was a quiet skinny kid when he was younger and was 100% a prodigy child

Sang-Woo would have regretted killing someone in the last game if it was anybody but Gi-Hun. If he won, he would’ve spaced out so much and hold more regrets.

If Sang-Woo won, he would have nightmares about Squid Game, most notably with Ali, Sae-Byeok, and especially Gi-Hun (I might have a favorite chat /j)

Gi-Hun definitely has nightmares of everyone above, especially with Il-Nam, Ali, Sae-Byeok, and Sang-Woo

Mi-Nyeo left her kid with her mother, as she had a one night stand and the other person didn’t want to do anything with the kid

Deok-su has like a shit ton of tattoos on his body, with the most intricate on his back

Sang-woo was always jealous of how much of a free spirit Gi-hun was

They definitely had something romantic going on before Sang-woo left to SNU

Sang-woo would make Gi-hun listen to love songs because he didn’t know how to confess (Gi-hun never caught on and just thought they were random song reccs)

Gi-hun thought about Sang-woo a lot on his wedding day but still went through with it
