Just thinking about the financial hits the 118 have taken this year:
- failed cruise
- lost luggage because of said cruise (includes fancy dresses, jewellery, bobby’s one suit and athena’s toothbrush)
- helicopter fuel(?)
- eddie’s medical bill
- buck’s apartment bills maybe?
- tommy’s incorrect coffee (coffee’s expensive these days)
- henren expanding their family (we love this for them but again children are expensive these days)
- the bachelor party
- the bachelor party aftermath
- the wedding (catering, venue, photography etc)
- chimney’s carjacking
- chimney’s phone
- chimney’s medical bills
- eddie dating two women simultaneously (surely makes a dent in the monthly budget)
- bobby’s carjacking
- bobby’s medical bills
- potentially athena and bobby’s entire house?!
- therapy bills (frank can afford to retire because of the firefam)
And I’m sure they aren’t done! I hope they’ve all got really good insurance because this is so much worse than usual.

If I ever saw someone saying the 118 is just this upset because it's buck and they wouldn't be that emotionally damaged if it was any other member of the team dead on that gurney on their hands, I would assume that someone watched the show with their ass.

I miss Chimney's forehead scar.
And I'm still amazed he had a rebar go all the way through the front of his head and out the back and somehow acquired no permanent brain damage.

So, if a tree got split in half during the last bad windstorm, and it almost but not quite took out your house, but is burying/crushing and probably broke a lot of plants in your only non-shade garden which you have cultivated for over nine years--including a rare volunteer pine that was just going to be big enough to transplant this year and you can't currently see to assess the damage but it looks bad--if this has happend, you get to be upset about it, right? Like you don't have to juat be grateful it wasn't worse?

Hob would play it with about 50 billion houserules to make it more “historially accurate” nevermind that they’re wizard, an elf and gnome that can turn into a bear trying to fight a dragon.
New sandman hc:
Hob plays DnD because it reminds him of the medieval times so he has a campaign with some of his students and they play every thursday.
One day Morpheus comes to visit Hob when he is on his way to their DnD session for the evening. He decides to sit in on the session and he loves how they create these stories out of a game.
Somehow next campaign Morpheus is the dungeon master and the group of students can't be more enthuastic about it while Hob looks at Dream chuckling and fond because the Prince of stories is their DM.

National coverage of the hurricane has been so heavily tilted towards the typical hurricane-affected areas that it is going almost completely unreported as of posting that the town of Chimney Rock, North Carolina has been completely leveled.
Aside from some residential areas, the entire town is gone.
I'm posting this because in the coming days and weeks there are going to be a lot of calls to help people who survived the storm and many are going to assume that this is business-as-usual hurricane season stuff, but it isn't. This storm tore through Appalachia, flooding regions that have literally never flooded like this. The hills and plants that hold soil in place have been severely damaged because this kind of weather event is so deeply unprecedented the plants that live here are completely unprepared for this to happen literally ever.

There are no undamanged highways in or out of Asheville. We can't even recover the phone and data networks until trucks can get into the area, and they can't get into the area because some of the roads are just GONE. The water was so fast and so intense it washed the dirt from underneath the pavement and chunks of road literally fell down the fucking mountains.
When you see things over the next few days asking for help, please understand that this is not typical hurricane season damage. Entire communities have been flattened. The infrastructure in much of the region is utterly destroyed and will take weeks just to begin recovery in some parts.
The phone and data grid are offline.
Power and water are out for most people.
The roads used for evacuation are undrivable.
This is an absolute nightmare scenario.
